Worth Every Penny - Phenomenal Ice Cream & Fun Atmosphere!…read more The first time I ever tried Lappert's was out in Vegas, and I was hooked immediately. They were so generous with their portions for a surprisingly low price. I ordered a banana split back then, and they doubled every single scoop! On top of that, the ice cream quality is fantastic; it holds up great and doesn't melt into a soup right away. When I heard they opened a location right here in Redlands, CA, I knew we had to go check it out. The Redlands store did not disappoint! The tropical vibes inside are super fun, and the ice cream and treats are just as incredible as I remembered. We grabbed a loaded banana split and a Dole Whip dessert. Watching the liquid nitrogen ice cream process was seriously cool, such a unique experience. The two women working behind the counter were fantastic; they were super friendly and offered us samples to help us decide (much appreciated because everything sounded so good!). I went with the fresh mint chip ice cream in a waffle cone and loved every bite. My husband ordered a root beer float with a non-dairy salted caramel-type ice cream (can't quite remember the exact flavor name, but it was delicious!). We took our treats to go and enjoyed them while walking to the car, already talking about how unique and fun this spot was. Unique experience, great service, and fantastic ice cream. The ice cream here is def pretty thick and creamy which I liked Avocado: 4/5 this was very fresh and I liked the ice cream itself a lot. Specifically giving 4 stars as the service was not great. The teenagers working there were talking to each other and barely engaged with us. It seemed like they would rather hang out than be working at the shop. Just wish they were a little bit friendlier and had a little bit more customer service. We really enjoyed the ice cream and the tacos. The tacos were perfectly soft. It was really cool to watch, and they had a ton of different options for every craving. We had a hard time picking what to order since they all looked so good.

I came in around 3 PM on a weekday, and they didn't have many flavors left, so I bought all three: berries & cream, pumpkin cream, and red velvet. It wasn't a hot day, and my friend's place was only about 5 minutes away. But when I opened the box, the cupcakes were way too wet and moist. I picked one up for a picture, and the coating actually stuck to my fingers. The strawberry also tasted like it wasn't very fresh, almost like it had been sitting out for too long. They tasted okay, not bad, but nothing really stood out. Unfortunately, the overly wet, chewy texture and the not-so-fresh strawberry really ruined the experience for me. Sorry, but I wouldn't recommend this place.

There's usually always one or two kitties in the mood for either playing or being pet. You get kinda attached to some of them, but they're also up for adoption so they might not be there the next time you go. They do have some resident kitties though - Sugar is very sweet and not up for adoption. She'll always let you pet her. Staff is kind and will answer any questions about the kitties. I always ask if there's a lot of children or too many people when I go, and they'll let me know if there's too many. I just want to relax with the kitties and my book and it can be a bit noisy and distracting when it's a bit full. I'll usually go to Cafe Caprice around the corner for an hour and then come back for quieter kitty time. They also have cute local art up for sale around where you play with the kitties and it's nice to look at. I usually just grab a soda when I go there as I've already had my tea/coffee for the day, but would love it if they got their beer and wine license. I would totes have multiple glasses of wine whilst chilling with the kitties if they did that (the cat cafe I frequented in Charlotte had it). Overall, fun place to pet some kitties and get away from your problems for a bit.
