We came on a Wednesday and there were a few group of families. Check in was quick and in no time we were on our own. The place isn't big and if it is crowded, I can see it being a drag to wait. Fortunately for us we didn't have to wait and within an hour, my kid was beat. Clipping in and out was a breeze after 2-3x and the staff members were excellent! Came here for our friends son's fifth birthday party. All the kids had such a blast! Even as adults, you can go on it as well. The area felt very open, and lots of space to run around and try different obstacles. They did provide a briefing at the beginning in terms of safety. Great place to hang out with kids and adults for 1.5 hours to get some fun exercise with various types of colorful, climbing walls with an auto belay. Came here for my nieces bday celebration a few weeks ago and the kids had a great time. This place is located, towards the back of the plaza next to the movie theater. Parking is a hit an miss as it is shared with many businesses. Our bday party was booked weeks in advanced, and when we arrived the previous party was being cleaned up. The reserved party area is in the open which was a bit uncomfortable, they allowed us to bring decorations and the young lady helped us with the set up. Some parents had signed the waivers in advance and when the staff checked they were told they needed to submit them again as they didn't show in their system, creating a delay. Finally, every guest received their bracelet and were sent to get fitted with their harness an instructions were provided. They had 4 ppl helping, but that wasn't enough as they also had other patrons. We drive over an hour to go to this place because it's kid friendly. This has ignited a climbing passion in my 6 year old son. I like how admission is like an hour and a half and now includes a borrowed wristband to get points. What a fun experience! We actually found this place from watching Blippi and meekah on Netflix. My son was obsessed watching it and on one episode they came here and it was close to us. You get 90 minutes of climbing. You can make an appointment just Incase it's busy. We walked in on a Saturday afternoon and was able to get in without waiting. When we were leaving there was a bigger crowd that made people wait in groups for the next time slot. It's for kids and adults. The crowd was mainly little kids so I don't think it's a date place for adults - it can be but they would be waiting and running into many many little children. The place is slightly smaller than I thought when k watched the Netflix show. Regardless it was so much fun!! My son spent the entire 90 minutes here and he wasn't really able to try every wall - he did like some more than the others and kept climbing the same ones too. This place is so cool! Really great way to get kids interested in climbing without the seriousness of conventional gyms. Wear your own sneakers, clip yourself in and out. It lets kids pace themselves and have the independence to try different courses. I did call ahead to ask them if it was appropriate for younger children, and they said yes, there's an area for soft play. I didn't take any stars off for the dirty play area that is not suitable for small children, or any baby, in my opinion. They would do better to take the area out all together. My initial visit to Hapik in South Gate, CA, proved to be a more challenging experience than anticipated. The pricing structure appears competitive, with a family package accommodating one adult and two children for approximately $18.50 per person for a 90-minute climbing session. The facility offers a diverse selection of climbing routes suitable for both adults and children, with some presenting a significant challenge, even for experienced climbers. Upon ticket purchase, a comprehensive briefing is provided, covering the proper use of safety equipment, including clipping and unclipping procedures. It would be beneficial to include a demonstration of the rappelling process during the briefing to familiarize participants with the descent procedure. Following the briefing, we proceeded to explore the climbing routes. Initially, I experienced some apprehension regarding the initial descent, as I did not feel entirely secure. In retrospect, attempting a partial jump might have provided a better understanding of the experience. My four-year-old child was hesitant to ascend and jump from the higher sections, likely due to her light weight and the interference of the clips. I am uncertain if the equipment was appropriately sized for her. Despite these considerations, we enjoyed the experience, although some climbs demanded significant hand and finger strength. The execution proved more challenging than observing others, such as the "Stairway to Heaven" climb. This particular route is popular but presents a degree of perceived risk due to its height, even for adults. I observed some children effortlessly completing the climb. Overall, it was an enjoyable day, though my hands were sore afterward. Therefore, a 90-minute session should be sufficient to explore all the available climbs. The weight limit on their equipment says it can take a max of 309 lbs so even though the colorful equipment and ads seem child-oriented, adults can have a fun time climbing too. I would recommend making an appointment in advance. While it was not busy for a late Monday afternoon, the location is not too large so if you have a big party come in it could leave you waiting longer than expected. They also requested we come in 30 minutes in advance so they could give us an overview of safety, but it really took about 5-10 minutes of them prepping us before we were ready to climb on our own. Again, could take longer with a bigger group (we were a party of 2 climbers and 1 spectator). The staff is a bit young, but they are knowledgeable about safety and are looking out to make sure you are handling the equipment correctly. Parking is no problem as it's part of a large mall. This was my first time using auto-belay equipment and I had a great time challenging my fear of heights climbing up the different walls. Some of the most interesting challenges were the circles that could spin when you grabbed then and the ascending pipes you walk along that looked like they came straight out of Mario World. It's a great place to try things out. Some walls/equipment seemed a bit worn, but I had no worries that anything was at risk of breaking or falling apart. I was told that they sometimes swap out the wall designs, though looking at past posted photos it doesn't seem like they change things too drastically. I enjoyed that for the same wall, there were different mini-challenges listed to increase difficulty, such as recommending you climb on certain colored holds (this is what turns their 30 walls into 100+ different "routes"). You can really feel like a video game character and get a decent sweat in once you get over your initial fear. Would come back again with friends if we needed something fun to do! read more

Come one, come all, kiddos and adults alike, and prepare to scale everything from straightforward climbing walls to twisted ones, globular ones, and tin walls. The staff is super kind and helpful. Before turning you loose in the climbing arena, they give u a quick tutorial on safe climbing practices. So if you're brand new at climbing, have no fear! The background music is also pretty energizing, so that's great for morale. If you're an adult and see a lot of kiddos, doooont feel silly and hesitate to partake in the climbing fun, because plenty of us have loads of fun here. I've visited with adult friends each time I've been here and the climbs can prove more challenging than you might think! On top of that, there's even an adults night once a month. I came here this afternoon after a distant lover invited me out the blue. I seen this place on Social Media and it's been on the bucket list until today. It turns out that every first Wednesday of the month it's $9 to climb whereas every other day it's about $22 to get in. I had a blast climbing the walls and acting like Mario going up the pipes. The staff was very helpful and their playlist was fire. I came here last year and it was so much fun that my kid is still begging me to take her back! I love all the bright colors of the climbing structures and the challenge of climbing them. The clear structure is great because you can climb with another person on the other side and try to mirror their movements. Especially if you are a first timer and are super scared to go too high up, if you try that wall with a friend you'll be surprised how much further you'll go! Sitting in the harness and letting go of the wall when you're done can be nerve wracking as well but just don't think too much and jump! Worker briefs you on safety and helps everyone into their harnesses when you arrive. Then everyone tries a practice wall and is free to climb anything they'd like afterwards. Took away another star because 2 of the associates were obviously more interested in each other than watching the kids. Hapik review I was very excited to visit this location with my kids but the experience turned out to be one of the worst experience and outing with my kids and this was due to the horrible customer service provided. For further explanation; this rock climbing is geared and advertised for kids. My kids ages are 8,6,4,3 being young kids and first timers, they as well as myself needed constant help clipping and unclipping the rope harness. We had to keep asking for assistance,however; the 3 staff were standing around just on their phones while my kids kept asking for help. As I noticed that my kids were constantly being ignored I asked if they were not able to assist the kids in clipping and unclipping and one of the young girl staff responded by saying "we constantly need to be helping you guys and we already explained it. We have other people to help" this was very unprofessional. The staff were all standing together on their phone when I asked for this help. Also, we were one of the first people there since our reservation was right when they had opened at 2pm so them attending to others was not the case. The amount I spent on the tickets to take my kids here was not worth it and if you are a parent of multiple young children and considering taking your kids here I would not recommend this place. It's was a very disappointing and upsetting experience and I should have asked for a refund and took my kids elsewhere. My kids were not even comfortable asking the staff girls for help. Leanne's service could really use some work & improvement. It's strange to me when a company puts such an ill prepared person at the helm of a storefront. It really makes what is a good business model an unenjoyable experience and the worst is that because they have a line to take care off they really just need you to get out the way cause they don't have time nor care to deal with you. At least this is how she made me feel which is a an unacceptable way to treat customers. So ... I made a reservation on line. We were a party of three ( me and my two kids) & it was supposed be $54 for the package. On line it would only let me book for two so I went ahead and did that in figured I could pay the difference for the third. Not the case, she wanted me to pay for three individuals & almost $70 & was unwilling to rectify the situation. So she gave me a refund instead of what I really wanted which was to go climbing. So after the refund I went back on line to book the family pack (which she too could have offered at the location after she refunded me) but instead she made it seem like I was trying to game the system and said no I already paid for two individuals and I needed to pay for the third. Anywho, their website needs an improvement to tell you why the family pack isn't coming up or available and the employees need improvement on how to better service folks when they have shortcomings on their end and how to be empathetic to different folks situations so that they feel like valued customers as opposed to ones that don't matter to ones business model because if you don't do this eventually it catches up to the business which hinders growth & expansion which is something I hope occurs with this company as it's pretty cool to come here for 90 min to go have fun and get a little exercise. read more

Cons: Smelly and dirty restroom area *yuck* I was looking for an indoor play place for my kids on a rainy day and stumbled into Hapik. Made reservations and completed the safety waivers all online. Super Easy! We arrived a bit early but once at the location we were immediately greeted by staff and was promptly checked in for our time slot. I purchased a couple of waters and snacks at their snack bar and as we were waiting the staff recommended our kids use the restroom before they are harnessed. *Great Idea!!* The restrooms could've used some TLC! We were the first reservation block of the day but the restrooms looked and smelled like they hadn't been cleaned from the previous day!! Once harnessed and went over the safety guidelines the kids were led in to the climbing park. The staff stays nearby BUT the parents are the ones hooking the kids into the ropes!!! Not what I expected which was nerve wracking as a mom. However, the safety feature on each climbing wall is so unique that it won't unbuckle/buckle unless it's hooked on properly. I had a hard time with some hooks but the staff would rush over and help immediately! Some walls were harder for my smaller kid but overall they all had a blast! The 90 minute reservation block is way more than enough time. They were beat after all the climbing and my oldest was even sore the next day. Definitely a good workout for them. read more

Brought my 4-year-old to Hapik yesterday. He loves to climb on jungle gyms so I thought this might be something he would like. It was his first time and the staff were friendly and very helpful - even climbing up to get him when he initially climbed too high and got too scared to jump down (which was a good learning point for him and me - lol). Over the 90 minutes we were there, he became steadily more confident in both climbing and jumping down. The walls required a mix of skill, but there were several that he figured out how to climb, and i could see his climbing skills and problem solving improving even in the span of the 90 minutes that we were there. We just celebrated my son's eighth birthday here at Hapik. It was a hit and everyone loved it the kids and the adults. We rented out the facility for three hours and it was the perfect amount of time we brought our own food in and the place was super clean, and the people that were helping us were excellent. David and his team were always there to help us with whatever we needed. They also provided us with tablecloths and they always had extra cups napkins, candles and lighters if we needed when our party came to a close they helped us clean up everything and it was super easy. We had a pretty big party with about 40 kids and 50 adults. They are plenty of seats as parents are climbing with their kids as well as sitting at the tables. read more
