Playground equipment geared for the 3 to 12 year old kids. Lots of covered sheds and picnic tables- those are available for Cerritos residents to rent, but otherwise are free for use. It may still have the outdated 80s-style interior, but it's still a grand and beautiful swim center. The swim center holds children and adults swimming lessons and recreational swimming, and lap swimming for adults. It is also home to the Cerritos Aquatic Club and the local high school swim teams. Check the Cerritos website for days and times for recreational and lap swimming. The locker room is spacious. Whenever I come here for lap swimming, I try to avoid using the showers because the water temperature can be finicky (constantly changing from hot to cold and cold to hot).

Once we started, it felt calm and surprisingly peaceful. We even spotted birds and fish along the way, which I definitely didn't expect in Los Angeles. If you look that up or really want to raft, take a drive up to Northern California for some excitement- you are able to do Class III, Class IV, or Class V, including an overnight rafting trip. It's not exactly like "A River Wild," but it can be if you're not experienced. I grew up river rafting with my Daddy all the time and have been on more than 300 trips in my lifetime. It's one of my favorite activities, but it's boring and lame in SoCal.

This year's turnout was amazing as individuals shared their personal experiences and spoke of the importance of PHA and how being a part of this association has changed their lives. Pulmonary Hypertension is a condition where the blood pressure in the arteries, which carries blood from the heart to the lungs becomes too high. The work this association has and continues to do is remarkable, which is why I will continue to be a supporter.
