How have I not given our local park the Yelp treatment yet??!?…read more Lexington was the answer to Oak Knoll being outgrown, we are a city of recreation and competitive sports, and if you build it, we will use it to its fullest potential. Lexington is proof! This park, at its core, is two large sized football/soccer fields that can be divided up for smaller league kid games. One field is natural grass, the other a composite. The entire park is well lit because of the night games that are played there, which makes for an overall inviting and safe experience - and I never see the park empty, it's always in use. Surrounding the fields are a running track that circles the distance of the park, a large playground area, seating for the parents, oh, a large set of bleachers for the FNL and soccer games. A workout area in the back with a circuit style set of arm/leg machines. Pickleball and basketball courts, a general area with covered seating for picnics and gatherings, and a large parking lot area that, although large, can be found filled on busy days. Overall this is a good park and a great addition to our cities lineup. We come here often to do sports or use their other various facilities. :)

My only complaint is the playground is truly geared for older kids 2.5-3years + older. I feel with such a large project, the city of Cypress could have added a few other features to make it friendly for under 3yr olds - it's literally only 1 small slide for the littles - no steering wheel to drive, or any features to fidget with, or twist, turn, pull or other. I guess it was the last thing in their budget. All in all, it is a huge upgrade to the city of Cypress and we love walking here and that they have doggy bags for when our pupp finds a couple potty spots.

Happy Easter, YELPers!…read more Rynerson Park located in Lakewood, CA is a total hit with friends and family! From the spacious grounds, plentiful play areas, and even a dog run area, this park has it all. Today, Easter Sunday 2026, our group of 40 has been having a blast since this morning. The area is clean and well kept, with city workers on site doing light work in the background. Many families are enjoying picnics with one another, sharing dishes, and having a blast looking for Easter eggs. Just as we did last year, we engaged with a neighboring family for a fun game of volleyball. This has been great! There is plenty of parking available in the lot, with several spots being designated for handicap parking. No stairs or steps are needed to access the park and there is an abundance of street parking, as well. For being an outdoor enjoyment area the sound level has not gone above mid and the grounds are well kept and clean. I look forward to our annual picnic for next year, already! xx

There's a good sized green area as well with a covered bench areas spread throughout. There's also a walking path with a small exercise machine area along the way. The parking here is not so great, but with Arnold Cypress back open around the corner it's become a bit better.

The park offers a half basketball court, small playground, 2 picnic tables, dog waste bags. The park agriculture is well maintained but the trash cans and the picnic tables have visible trash around them. The parking is located across the street or in the neighborhoods. There are a few stop signs near the park but some cars tend to drive fast through the area so be aware.

It was made to seem like an epidemic back then with the ills of the world and the problem of that time's society. That was a problem with many of our parents back then regarding this park. Brookhaven park is a small park that only have a small playground sandlot and half of a basketball court. It was the closest park nearby my house back then where me and my pals would biked to this park that is only a few blocks away from our houses. We could have shoot game of HORSES or play a small 2 on 2 basketball game as it's only half a court. You can have a picnic here by just bringing your own blanket in this nice grassy park with a very small playground for the kids to play slide or merry go-around. The bad part about this whole park was that it was isolated. There was a big wall on one side and the park's dimensions was wide and very short on length. It mean that the street is less than 40 yards away from the basketball court and playground. It was often unfairly called "Drive-By Park" because anyone can just drive by and there would be no where to hide or take cover for the people in that park as there's a wall prevent anything from happening with an escape. Seriously, nothing had happened in that nature. There was always lousy rumors of something awful happened in that park, but I think it just get the shaft because of people wanting to believe the worse with no evidence or reports of anything going on here. I still have fond memories of coming here for a quick game of basketball. Believe me, because of the lousy news reports of possible violence, we always are the lookout for cars driving by. Even worse, we are usually out of there within 40 minutes. After all this time, that park is one the least utilized and would have made a great picnic ground as it looked to be a top secret hangout because no one knows there's a park here.

This review is for the playground only…read more I've lived in Shadow Park for the past 27 years and the playground has always been around. New equipment and repainting of old ones over the years has kept it pretty up-to-date. The newest addition, a spinning thing that you sit on, is really fun! My only gripe about the current state of this area is that the association replaced the sand with sharp, wood chips. I remember growing up, I loved sitting and playing with the soft sand. Now, on multiple occasions playing with my niece and nephew, it hurts to even sit. This doesn't even take into account the numerous times where a wood chip got into my shoe. It'd be nice to see them change this back to sand one day, so other homeowners won't have to worry about their children getting stabbed in the foot, or somewhere worse, by sharp wood chips at a playground.

There is a pool, tennis courts, volleyball court, basketball court, and a playground, along with a very nice clubhouse that fits about 60 people. Since this park is the only private gated park, residents have the advantage of a live guard, 24hrs a day/ 7 days a week. Hopefully they will add some golf amenities and renovate the gates to a more modern look.

This is my childhood park!…read more Although it was always a sketchy park with high school students, college students, and adults always coming here to smoke and do extracurricular activities, it definitely has its perks. First off, it was walking distance to my house and a lot of my neighborhood friend's houses. We would come here after school and chill and hang out until sunset. We'd do this every weekday and would never get bored. Before the protective layering was added, the jungle gym was on a bed of sand. When I was in elementary school, my friends and I would get water from the fountain and make water falls from the slide after making a sand castle at the bottom of the slide. One time we found a crow and decided we should bury it super deep and dig up the bones years later. We also thought it would be dope to do a time capsule type of thing and wrote a letter and put it in a Tic Tac case and buried it super deep. Well skip a few years and they add the soft layer on top of the sand! So long crow bones and hidden note! Besides that we would play football, kickball, kick ball, and baseball on the field. We flew kites when it was windy and played with Stomp Rockets as well. We held fight clubs there and play Body Shots and Dead Arm. On the court we would play basketball games of 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, 21, Horse, and Knock Out or Lightning. We also would skate and do tricks past the half court line. Too many good memories here.
