There's a good sized green area as well with a covered bench areas spread throughout. There's also a walking path with a small exercise machine area along the way. The parking here is not so great, but with Arnold Cypress back open around the corner it's become a bit better.

They took over a giant covered outdoor area with a ton of picnic tables, clean and open and perfect for a large party (I assume they had to rent this). I've been to a lot of parks over the years, and most of them don't have comparable event spaces. The one disadvantage was that we were far away from the playground, much to the chagrin of my three-year-old, who kept demanding to leave the party in favor of the play structure he saw in the distance. Liberty Park is just a huge place with several different zones. We even switched parking lots once we got there and figured out where the actual party was, on the Camp Liberty side of the park. The party was really nice, pleasant and relaxing. We had lunch, watched the dohl ceremonies (he grabbed the stethoscope, securing his future as a doctor), took pictures, and hung out with family. Then, because I'm not a monster, I took my boy to the playground. It was a great playground, well maintained and pretty quiet on a Saturday afternoon. Fewer kids, in fact, than teenagers working out and playing loud music nearby. I'm not complaining. In fact, my child was fascinated by their music and got as much entertainment from their speakers as he did from the play structure. I don't live anywhere near Cerritos, but if I did, I'd make good use of Liberty Park. What a lovely neighborhood resource, for both special events and everyday recreation.

Been coming for the last three months and I see the same players all the time. Only downside of playing pickleball here is that the courts close at like 8pm-8:30pm which is actually atrocious. I forget exactly. When I run to the restroom from the tennis/pickleball area, which looks exactly like your average park restroom. I see people on the playground and other pickleball courts (3 in the middle) (2 on side). The track is crowded too! The parking does get full in the evening so you may need to park on the street.

There's one covered picnic bench area and a larger bbq grill. There's parking all along the street but no separate parking lot. It's nestled in a neighborhood so there's plenty of parking. The bad: It is not great for large gatherings because there's only one picnic area. The interesting: It's adjacent to some schools.

That's all they said..."just come the next day". All that they said. So we came the next day and an hour before closing time because that's also what it says on the information pamphlet. We came the next day. They said that the shelter we wanted was already taken because it was "first come first serve"...we weren't given that information!!! We were never told that it was first COME FIRST SERVE. All they said was that "we can come tomorrow", if we were given that information then OF COURSR IT WOULD MAKE SENSE FOR US TO BE THERE EARLY. This type of information of "first come first serve" is important to give to individuals. If you know that shelter is popular. So I'm telling you this so it doesn't happen to other individuals...if you want a shelter, it's first come first serve.

The 84-acre park has been serving the community for almost 50 years, providing tennis courts, a skatepark, playgrounds, exercise equipment, public pool, indoor courts, 2 fishing lakes, basketball courts, BBQ/picnic areas & the Cerritos Sports Complex. For my recollection, my first acquaintance with Don Knabe Park came by way of participating in the Annual Youth Fishing Derby. Kids are given the opportunity to compete with other registrants to catch the largest catfish. Bait is provided, and fishing tackle is first come, first served basis. As a teenager, I became more interested in fishing, and tried my hand at largemouth bass fishing w/ lures. On my first outing, a caught a decent-sized bass. I've seen much larger sized bass caught, too. The CA Dept. of Fish & Game stocks the lakes with rainbow trout (colder months) & channel catfish (warmer months). For trout, I've been lucky using small spoons, while catfish is simply bait & wait with smelly bait of choice. For such a large park, the parking is absolutely free! Which, along with proximity, is why I frequent Don Knabe Park over others. One complaint I have, is there can be duck & other waterfowl landmines (aka poop) all over the concrete walkways next to the lakes, if the groundskeepers aren't timely at keeping up with the power washing to clear the walkways out. Cerritos' own Central Park, Don Knabe Community Regional Park is an out of doors haven, for those looking to increase their daily steps, play their sport of choice, or wet a line and see if the fish are biting. It's a great resource which I take full advantage of, and hope to continue visiting for many more years to come. Highly recommend!

We tend to come in the evenings when it's cold so we haven't had a chance to use the splash pad but the structures in the area are still available for climbing. It's quite a spacious place with trampolines, some swinging ropes, different areas to climb up, a little water room where they provide you some rain boots and rain jackets. They have a bunch of different slides too. An area that is mainly for older kids and an area for the younger kids. It's quite well-designed., I love that they even give you slides to wear to the restrooms so your feet do not get wet. Note: EVERYONE has to wear socks all the time, so make sure you bring a pair. They sell them at the front as well for both kids and adults. For the birthday party, they give you a room to use for 1.5 hours. It's quite a large room and they have balloons, plates, utensils and pizza. They even have this cart cleaning station with napkins and wet wipes too. Employees are there to help with clean up and it's quite nice since the table is U shaped so lots of seating area. We had about 15 kids and the parents and it was still a lot of room. The employees help with cleanup as well. Quite organized. I think in general it is a great place if you want a one stop shop. Parents have to accompany kids, but lots of place for the parents to walk around and keep an eye on the kids if they are able to go alone. I went into the structure and it's not at all too low for the adults to walk around if you're following younger children. Definitely a comfortable spot and I like how plush the floors are.

I've hesitated a lot to post but as I've been coming almost everyday or having a monthly membership it seems like I MUST due to some lacking of how the business is being run. 1. The staff/ employees are not attentive to running the business hours. They are nice but they do not pay attention to the customers. There will be days where the devices like the carousel is not plugged in to start the day when it's past the opening time. I would ask couple of times on different days letting them know it's not plugged in. (My husband also had gone couple times told me the carousel was not plugged in). Not only the carousel but the arcade for Mario Kart would not be set up where I would call up an employee and ask them about it to set up so the kids not just my child can play ready to go. When a business opens the place should be ready to go for the customers but it would be funny that the customer would have to ask to have the things ready. I am surprised and frustrated because I'm like wondering why isn't the carousel working? Is it broken? No it was just not plugged in ready to go. Why would the business be opened if it's not ready for its customers to use their equipment? I've seen sadly that the employees are just having fun amongst themselves talking in the front but they don't pay attention to the customers wanting to purchase food or drinks or snacks where they have to then just go to the front. I've seen some parents calling the staff for attention but they're not answering where they end up walking to the front. Seeing that is very frustrating because the employees are not doing their job. They don't watch our kids but at least pay attention to the customers trying to purchase one of their own goods. 2. The cleanliness IS NOT MAINTAINED.. This week my mother in law went to play pie and told me she had killed a roach near the car carousel. I'm so sad and disgusted to hear this. I don't know how the facility is being taken care of or how often but this explains a lot. I'm very disappointed to hear this because my child loves to come here but seeing some things on how the business is run makes me feel lack of trust, worries and not safe environment. There is also a lot of shade which is a big plus as a mom with a little one. I love taking my baby out but when it's hot and there's no shade, I just turned around and go back home but with this place being so shady, I love it. I wanna come back ! I love that there is a gate. It makes me feel a little bit more safe and there is a splash pad. It is small but on the day that I went it was not crowded. There was just a few other families there And it just looked so fun next time. I will come back with swim gear for my baby so she can enjoy !!!
