Our child has been attending ballet classes for 2 years and just recently switched to hip hop. The teachers are patient and great with the toddlers. Went to see my nieces recital. Each of my nieces was supposed to have two dances with a costume change. Too bad they had to split it up to different days because they didn't have enough time for all the dances. Despite the limited time (2 hour recital at 7pm ending at 9 pm), they managed to get in at least 6 or 7 dances for the instructors. My nieces dance was cut because of time, but the instructors had to have 6 dances with no students on stage. They are all so kind , Los Altos dance center really cares for the kids. They are grateful and teach kids so well. My daughter has been going since she was 3 and now she's 12 in toe shoes now. Very happy at how they are teaching her. I highly recommend them to teach your kids to dance. read more

Pick another place to send your little dancer. They'll charge you for months of practice for a 2 hour recital that your child will come out in for 2 minutes. The kids get one dance per class, that the instructor has a solo in, might I add. They don't even start practicing with the little ones until 4 practices before the recital. Once it's time for the show, you realize the teachers organize this whole thing so you can pay to watch them dance. It's so bizarre. The young hip-hop teacher even did a VERY provocative dance to "Maneater" this year in front of a bunch of families and little girls. It was so inappropriate and uncomfortable to watch. I learned my lesson. I regret wasting MONTHS of time and money on this attention/money grab by the instructors. Don't make the same mistake. read more

My daughter is off to college in the Fall and I wanted to take a moment to reflect on what a positive experience our family has had over the years at Los Altos Dance Center. The instructors and staff are welcoming and caring. This is the type of studio that's more everyone wins, rather than a more competitive-type of studio. They always made the lessons and recitals fun and accepting of all students whether they were a serious dancer or just tying out ballet for the first time. After 3 years at Los Altos Dance Center, we are still happy to be here. My daughter loves her teacher, Miss Amanda. She couldn't be happier and has so much fun every week. She does make ups with Miss Marissa, who is also one of her favorite teachers and she begs to add more classes with her. Los Altos Dance Center is a family run facility that teaches kids to love ballet, not just technique. They have a recital every year, which is just beautiful and so memorable for the parents and children. I highly recommend Los Altos Dance Center. read more

I am really disappointed with this place. Most of the instructors have been great over the years we have attended but the male owner is very rude. We have spent 100's upon 100's of dollars and as of this last encounter, we will not be returning. First of all, cash only? This is 2022. We signed up our kid for a certain age group and come to find out since there weren't a lot of sign ups they put her in a much younger age group class. Way to grow her skills! They messed up on the class's music for the two hour plus recital (with no intermission) that showcased the instructors more than anything. We showed up to drop our kid off to the recital at the side door and was yelled at to wait rudely by the woman owner. Tried to buy recital tickets at the rehearsal and the male owner just had me standing there waiting for 20 minutes while he walked around doing what was more important for him, because again, can't buy anything online. Also wasn't notified when rehearsal was cancelled. It was really fun watching the owners daughter scream at rehearsal that she would get the music fixed over & over but she didn't. Honestly I could go on forever. Seeing the male owner talk down to my mother on several occasions was really the nail in the coffin. Save your money & go somewhere else. They won't care to see you go anyways. read more

My daughter has been attending class here for almost a year. I love this school and Bryant (the owner) is hilarious. My daughter started attending the 3-5 year old ballet/tap in mid December and in October she was advanced to the 6-8 year old class. The teachers are fantastic with the children and their annual recital is so beautiful. I can't say enough how happy I am at this dance studio. I totally recommend it. read more

This review is difficult to write because there a few variables that needed to be considered. With that being said, I must give this place a two star rating. The actual dance teachers get a 4 star rating and the owner gets a -1 star. I wish I could go back to this place because the dance instructors are amazing with the kids. However, the owner is not amazing and I refuse to give this guy another penny. I have one more lesson that my child could attend since I paid in advance but we will not be coming back. The location is kinda ugly looking but the studio's themselves are nice, clean and there is room for all the parents and the class sizes are manageable. The instructors are great at being fun so that the kids have a good time but they are also structured so the kids actually learn things in a productive way. Sounds nice, right? Enter...the owner. My sister and I attended Los Altos Dance when we were kids all the way through our late teenage years so maybe I'm a little biased, but I do love this place. Two of my nieces now go, both for ballet, and have been for over 4 years. They love it and look forward to class every week and the wonderful recital every year. I've attended other school's recitals and I have to say that Los Altos' is great with by far the best costumes. The entire staff is great with the kids - attentive and helpful. They make it easy on the parents too. Anyone looking to have their kids take ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, toe - save yourself the hassle and just go straight to Los Altos Dance. I really like this dance studio. The staff is very kind with the children. Sometimes, the children will complain and complain, but the teachers encourage them to participate in the activities. My daughter was very sick for about 2 weeks and was not able to participate in the weekly practice. She was allowed to go 2 times per week for the duration that she missed in order for her to keep up with the rest of the class.Some dance centers are really hard on the children ,and this place is not one of them. There is a HUGE recital that's held yearly in June. The recital was GREAT. I was able to see all of my daughters practice come into play. I was told that enrollment drops a little during the summer and fall. More parents seem to enroll their children in the spring. I think because they want them in the summer recital. read more

My daughter and I were excited to start dance, it being new to both of us, but were unpleasantly surprised by the teaching staff. We attended one class and already knew it was not a place for my daughter. The teacher, referred to as Ms. Amanda, was really cold and uncomfortable in communicating effectively. I felt she was not genuine as a whole. I ended up mentioning it to other parents and they all felt the same way. I was truly disappointed as we were looking forward to our experience. In recommending this place to anybody, i would suggest to choose a teacher wisely. First impression is everything, this person should not have been teaching. I started hip-hop class here about a month ago. I go once every week. It's really fun and a great way to get in exercise in my busy schedule. Would definitely recommend it to anyone. My only vice is the lack of a personal connection with the teacher. read more

Danced here when I was younger and it was fun from what I can remember. I felt the dances were extremely creative and somewhat challenging at times. The recitals were the best times of my life and the instructors really do a good job preparing everyone for them! The instructors do their job well, and are patient with kids.
