Very toxic environment. I don't recommend sending your children there. Some teachers are amazing, yet others are rude, unpleasant to work with, degrade students' confidence, and overall makes dance a dreadful place to be. Never have I seen someone run an establishment like this, where teachers gossip like teenage girls, show extreme favoritism, and create a toxic environment for dancers. My child's confidence was degraded due to the treatment she received from several teachers. She only liked three of the many teachers she had because those teachers actually uplifted her, which is why she stayed for as long as she did. read more

My girls started taking dance this year and I have to say it has been wonderful to watch them blossom! My 10 year old tells me that when she's dancing she is happy. my daughter has been taking dance lessons here for 3 years. the teachers are all very skilled, and there's lots of variety of classes for all ages. the owner and her sister are wonderful and focus on building a strong foundation for ballet and classic dance genres that they impart to all the other instructors. there's even an adult class that perform during the recital. the recitals are very well done. the tuition is comparable for better quality dance instruction than other dance studios in LB. read more

Many studios these days are so incredibly focused on being better than others and competition that they forget to simply enjoy dance. Great teachers and great students create a wonderful atmosphere at this studio. My daughter has received amazing training and opportunities to learn from the studios already impressive faculty as well as working professionals brought in for special master classes. In addition, she has had opportunities to dance at Disneyland, the LA County Fair, and has been involved in dance as a community service. I choose to move my children to a different dance school and after I dropped them they sent me a bill for over $300 saying I hadn't paid tuition in months despite the fact that I have the receipts. I am absolutely livid. I actually talked to one of the main people in charge when I pulled my kids from this school and when she asked my why I was honest and explained that I had several concerns and had ultimately decided that it was in everyone's interest that I just find a better fit. Apparently she didn't like that and decided to swindle me for money I already paid her. This is a disgrace. I honestly can not believe it. I am of course not going to give them the money as I already paid for everything before. I am so glad I removed my kids from this establishment. read more

My daughter attended this studio when she was five. Then we went to another school and decided to come back to The Dance Co--that says something. Later, her little sisters attended and we were once again very happy with The Dance Co. After the girls moved on to soccer, acting, etc, I took adult tap classes there for years. It's great exercise and they are exceptionally good at moving adult students to proficiency quickly. Within a month, the new students learn the basics and much of a dance. The only concern I had was very minor. that The Dance Co. combined adult classes for the recital (understandable--the recital was very long with so many classes) and it was so large a group that it was very difficult to see the instructor. The ladies in the front were not very open to people coming into the "their row" but this is not The Dance Co's fault. The teachers care about the students first and foremost. They do have elite "performing groups" but these kids seem to truly be the best dancers, and most committed to dance. This is an excellent studio for children and adults alike. read more

The location is in a really nice neighborhood, its clean, and available easy access parking. I've been taking Zumba classes here on Tuesday's & Wednesday's @ 7:30 with Gia and I LOOOVE IT!!! Gia is Awesome & her classes are perfect for all types of people, from Zumba vets to beginners like me. The classes are so much fun, and the hour goes by quick. before i went to the dance company, my studio was mainly focused on competition, winning , having the best costume than others. it really put me in a negative environment bc i lost my passion for dance. a year later, we started searching for dance studios. the dance company was our first choice and i'm so glad it was. TDC is a family that makes you feel like you always have someone there behind ur back no matter what. the teachers create special bonds with the dancers and they have the most amazing inspirational words for all dancers. i felt i was in a different world when i saw dancers that actually work hard for the technical aspects of dance and strive for their dreams to becoming a professional dancer instead of striving for perfection. don't forget the moms backstage, they care about every dancer and making sure they are fed, have a ride home and on that stage in time. this year has been amazing with the dance company and i wouldn't not regret this decision. thanks mrs donna for everything you do to make the studio feel like home. read more

So this is our two-year anniversary, and we couldn't be happier. We've seen first-hand that they absolutely cherish their students and parents. Our initial goals were to give our girls confidence and an appreciation/joy of dance. Happy and amazed with how TDC has helped accomplish both. When our older one was ready for more challenge and dance discipline, sure enough, they recommended moving her to the next level. The other one is in a class at her level, and the teacher is awesome at working with the younger ones. The partners are interested in making the whole experience good for families. The facilities are modest, but so are the fees in the overall scope of things, and that's SO incredibly important to us to be able to afford multiple classes to meet their budding enthusiasm. There's even beginning jazz for adults if I ever get time. Another big plus is the studio performs and teaches at all levels, so our girls see some truly great choreography and talented dancers who inspire them. It's nice when your kids' role model (besides you, of course) is a local, talented teen who is as sweet as can be. I'm confident that whatever talent our girls turn out to have, it will be maximized here, and if our girls aren't exceptionally talented they will still feel proud of what they accomplished. Boys of course are very welcome too. Before and after class families often hang out together at the yogurt shop or in the courtyard. There are a lot of studios to choose from, so I hope it helps to know that for us at least, TDC has grown to be our dance family, not just our dance studio. read more
