Customer " service" is non-existent. My child was made to feel very uncomfortable in their class and I have not been able to get anyone to follow up with me. Impact dance center has been terribly expensive for the dancers and every time it's possible, they charge you for something. The schedule is always booked and you can't even take a simple vacation. We had an event at a random park one time and they didn't reschedule it when it was 103 degrees and everyone was dying out there. I grew up dancing in this same building as a child and I am so happy to have my daughter start her dancing career here as well. Miss Annie has been an amazing teacher and Director of the Mini's. She's patient, kind and makes the classes fun for the dancers. We love the fun activities the studio offers, popsicle party, Halloween trunk or treat and even all the summer programs to keep the learning year round. read more

When my daughter was 2 years old I started shopping around for the perfect dance studio for her. I was looking for a studio that offered a family atmosphere that fosters a love of dance. But also a studio that has opportunities for competitive experiences for those that are interested. After visiting many locations, I walked into Impact Dance Center. The staff was welcoming and helpful. The families that were in the studio were friendly. I had found our dance studio. My daughter is now 12 and loves her dance experience. My only gripe, if I have to give one, is parking. The lot is small at the Los Alamitos location. So on days when there are a lot of families there, like picture days and rehearsal days, it can be difficult to find parking. This is not really something that the owners can do anything about. I would say, plan to be early on those days, park across the street and walk, and be patient. read more

This is our 6th year at Impact and we love it! Friendly & knowledgeable staff/teachers. Dancers start at their appropriate level and move up as they improve in technique. Age appropriate dances & costumes. Organized recitals. Great communication. Also plenty of opportunities for performing in community events as well as competitions. My daughter's last day was yesterday after about four months of being a part of the 4-6 year old class on Tuesday nights. I'll basically mention what I wrote down on the form that i filled out to pull my daughter out. I only had two main concerns with how things were run. Perhaps they are minor to some, but they irked me. Otherwise, I have no qualms about recommending Impact or even signing up my daughter again in the future. 1) My daughter's class was canceled on Veteran's Day which happened to fall on a Tuesday. Her class was also canceled the last Tuesday of December due to the Holiday break. However, in both instances, there was no mention or notice about whether make-ups could be scheduled or if the month's tuition cost or portion thereof would be prorated. So essentially, if your kid happens to attend 5 times or 3 times during any given month, you'll pay the same monthly rate. 2) On several occasions. my daughter's instructor was anywhere from 5-8 minutes late for her class. If you get there a bit early or even on time, you'll have to get accustomed to waiting around. In one instance, her instructor was in another room, chatting with an instructor even though it was 5 minutes passed and their room was unoccupied. However, my daughter's class seems to end perfectly at 6:30 sharp no matter the circumstance. read more

We've been at Impact for 6 years now and we love it. We came from a smaller studio and I believe making the transition was the best decision ever. My daughter is super shy and dancing helped her come out of her shell. There are many types of classes available, their recitals are way more organized than I would expect them to be and the big plus... The teachers are amazing aside from the regular classes and recitals you have the opportunity to do performance troupes and your child has the opportunity to perform out in the community. My daughters have attended classes for over a year at IDC. I have been very happy with the level of service we gave received with all of my questions about billing, performances and great feedback about their progress. The families we have met have been nice normal families-not crazy stage moms in training! The quality of instruction is great, they stress technique and accuracy. My granddaughter is new, had her first recital, I purchased a ticket, we had no idea it was out doors in 100º heat!! Handicap parking was minimal & had to walk several blocks to get there!! NO shade, we were not told we could bring seats or picnic items! Could hardly see stage, the dancers looked cute dancing, I'm not complaining about the students, it was the 'lack' of communication when purchasing the tickets!! It never mentioned any options, like preferred seating in the shade! or with a tabled umbrella!! I've been to many, many recitals, this was the worst!! Not to mention, we got lost! There are "2" locations for the same address!! I found it out accidentally as we decided to give up and go home, on the way home we were rerouted 4 miles away - this was a first for me, needless to say we missed the babies performance! I noticed LOTS of people were late and complaining, I was not the only one!! read more

We are starting our 5th year at Impact Dance Center. My daughter (12) and my son (7) love all of the opportunities the studio offers: Dance Team, Holiday Troupe, Ballet Conservatory, Recitals, Winter Fantasy, Nutcracker, trips to perform/compete nationally in Las Vegas/San Diego, Seal Beach Parade, Community Outreach performances, Master Classes! Not an ideal dance studio. If this is the only studio you have access to, you will witness the high prices and pressure to enroll in more classes. Teachers appear to be all over the place during production season. There is a difference between a teacher's tough love and them being cruel. Even though I had some pretty bad experiences with one teacher, my main teacher, I believe her name was ms tawny, was very sweet. But I do believe everything kind of revolves around money here, not so much dance, which isn't the way a studio should feel. read more

My 4 year-old has now also started attending this studio. Over a year later, I'm still impressed with this studio's professionalism, organization, and commitment to teaching children to express themselves through dance. My 4 year-old is shy, but her teacher really helped bring her out of her shell. I was also impressed that my older daughter received a "dance report card" at the end of the year, which told me about her progress, what class she had been promoted to, and recommended other areas she might want to pursue. Its my daughter's first time to enroll in a ballet class. I scheduled her for a drop in and she loved it. I decided I want to enroll her for the class. The lady in the front said the class is full. I placed her on the waiting list. So the following week, school hasn't called me yet for any availability so I decided to drop her in the class again. Now, the lady in the front said she can't be dropping in for the class like this. "There is a certain number of times she can drop in. but I don't know how many times" she said. Terrible!!! How can she not know?!? She is in the front of the studio in charge of scheduling and enrollment!!! She never offered any class that's available for her to enroll in! Reviews were 4 star, my expectations were high. Probably the teacher is good but how will I know the lady in the front won't let her get in the class. Get a better receptionist!!! Guess we have to go somewhere where my daughter os welcomed!!! read more

My three year old had been attending ballet here on Wednesdays with Ms Laura in the mornings for a couple of months. When she first started I went to see her. As I walked in I could see all their awards from past shows they've been in; but one thing I noticed more was the front desk girl's lack of customer skills; not even a welcome hello or smile. During the class you could see my daughter was happy and we were leaning towards keeping her in the class since it was her first official class. I thought the teacher instructed well and wasn't pushy with the kids........well a few months go by now my daughter doesn't want to go to class my wife has to almost drag her to go now she says that her ballet teacher is mean and never wants to go back!?? After some digging there was an incident where the teacher singled out my daughter in front of the class and that incident prompted my daughter to start refusing to go. An even more recent incident where my daughter had sneezed a couple of times during class and my wife decided to take her home before class was over as they left my wife over heard Ms Laura tell the other moms in the waiting area "I'm soooo glad they are leaving!" Really? She is only three years old thanks for ruining her desire to go to ballet so disappointed with our experience here. read more

My daughter has been dancing for close to 5 years now, & previous to coming to Impact Dance Center almost 6 months ago, we were at another studio. To be able to compare studios was actually really great because we can truly say how amazing Impact is! From the amazing backgrounds each of the teachers here have, to the caliber of teaching that is brought into each classroom, & the talent that this place has within it's students that exudes from every inch of that stage during a performance, we couldn't be happier with the choice that we made. The teachers here stress technique & accuracy, & they make sure their students make the corrections as opposed to disregarding incorrect technique. Ms. Catherine (the owner) and her amazing front desk staff are exceptionally professional & continue to always keep you up to date and informed with everything going on at the studio. Ms. Catherine also is always available if you ever have any questions or concerns. I have never seen her not make time to have a conversation with a parent or a student, even if she is on her way out. My daughter has learned and has grown SO much in the short time that she's been here, & I can't wait to continue to see her evolve more over our next years here.
