Out of every brunch spot I have EVER been to, this place is by far the best. No matter what time it is, I order the shrimp avocado wrap every single time. I don't know how they make it so amazing, but let me tell you it is worth it. I've gotten their sandwiched and my mom has gotten eggs/omelettes and the avocado toast...it is all amazing. Thought it was time for an update review. Been to Hapgoods a few times this year and everything is still as good as ever. I have tried Hapgoods 5 or 6 times over the past year. My experiences have always been for either lunch or when we were looking for a no-frills dinner with good food and here's my thoughts. This is a perfect place for a lunch date out with an friend if you want to catchup with a sandwich and coffee in a no rush comfy setting. The food is good, and it's a great place to order breakfast anytime of the day. I had their omelette's, BLT, and hot sandwiches and all have a great presentation (which I expect eating out) and the food itself is prepared well and always delicious with fresh ingredients. The atmosphere is very comfortable and makes you want to settle in for that 2nd cup of coffee or tea. For dinner I have either gone with a few friends and a bring your own bottle of wine (entree salad was good, don't remember the specific of what I ordered since it was several months ago). Have also done a take-out dinner from here when my husband & I wanted a simple Friday night last summer. Ordered two entree's and ate at home on the deck with a bottle of wine and didn't have to worry about driving home after. I LOVE TAKEOUT! It was th older hard kale that needs to be cooked not raw. Tasteless eggs and the omelette fillings were raw. The potatoes were yummy, though. The place was plenty busy. My family and I came up from Virginia to visit good friends and, thankfully, they brought us here for brunch. Inside, the lay out is simple, spacious, clean and inviting; making for a perfect venue for breakfast, lunch, or a hot cup of coffee. Being from the south, several of the comfort inspired dishes were enticing. But my dad and I had to go for the Shrimp and Grits. The combination of a milky cream over shrimp, spiced chorizo, and jalapeño infused cornbread was easily one of my favorite breakfasts... Ever. During our meal, a brilliant chef named Chris, who served in the Marine Corps., came out to greet us and hear what we thought. We were quick to ask him how he was able to put together such flavorful dishes and he was happy to share some of his secrets with us. What a little gem! Hapgood's was fan-freaking-tastic. My family and I came here for lunch one day and had the best time. You walk into an airy but cozy restaurant that looks like it could be in a Hallmark movie. The drinks come in mason jars, and the decor keeps up the lake/country vibe with old photos on the walls and a big fireplace near the front window. The food was delicious. The pulled pork sandwich was from another planet and could easily be split between two. The fries were soft and salty, which I enjoyed. Another standout was the pancakes, which were fluffy and delicious. The only drawback here is it gets really loud when it's crowded, like cafeteria loud, but it goes with the vibe. I can't wait to bring back visiting family and friends. I'm already trying to decide what I'm going to order! read more

Could have been a sloppy bbq'y mess but instead had the right balance of meat, a hint of BBQ flavor and was rounded out with some nice Carmelized onions. Went here for breakfast as most places in north jersey aren't very good. Found this place after a dingy car wash I will never go back to. Ordered the pulled pork pancakes which are spicy and sweet and a side of fries with some coffee. The pulled pork was a tad bit too spicy but it was overall good. If the pork wasn't that spicy it would have been a perfect balance of spice and sweetness. Oh an did I mention I couldn't finish it bc it was too much lol that's what I like, the option to stuff yourself or be conservative and pack the rest home. Came here on weekday morning, for some fresh breakfast. Ordered a egg platter which was topped off with Avacado and feta cheese, and also ordered chocolate chip pancakes. The platter was delicious and healthy. Pancakes were made from scratch, not just your typical Diner pancakes. Price for both is fair. Even the restaurant scenery is great, feels like your sitting right in your living room being served a delicious breakfast. Def. try it out if your in the area! read more
