We love this little store! The store is charming, featuring pictures and many antiques from the area's past. They carry a little bit of everything (except alcohol), and even sell some home-made food such as breakfast burritos and cookies. Everyone we've ever encountered there has been friendly, warm, and happy to chat for awhile. Hours are limited, though: They're open only from 8am - 5pm and closed on Sundays.

We had an amazing help from the automotive section we had loose lugnuts and they were able to fix…read morethem. All the automotive bays were filled and the employees were busy working with the line of cars and empty the bays. We had to wait for about 5 minutes for someone to come and assist us they quickly were able to fix the problem and a loud my friend who was driving to Double check the work. We appreciated that. Since it was a tire, that needed looking after. After we visited the automotive part of the store we parked out front saw a buggy I went to use and thank heaven my friend was there to help push me in the store. We saw a greeter and told them that the buggy was very low on battery and needed to be plugged in. We went to use our respective restrooms. I pleasantly surprised how clean smelling the bathroom was and each of the stalls were. Ie: the floors were clean of trash, toilets clean on the inside and outside bag hooks in each stall area were clean. The only complaint I have is that I have to use the larger stall and the bag hook was on the stall door. I had to bring my bag with me to the toilet because of my disabilities. After I used the my bag there was no place placed for me to hang it up or set down except on the ground of the stall. Which I didn't feel comfortable with doing.do I held onto it while using the toilet. It would be very helpful for someone with my disabilities and have a hook or a shelf near the toilet to set my bag on in arms reach of the toilet. As we were leaving the greater said thank you for visiting and hoped we had a good rest of the day.

I went into this store for a 12 pack of soda, and then was pleasantly surprised when there were 3 for 10.00. what a deal! Because I was carrying my 10 lb. Service dog, I knew I would need a cart. So I went back for a cart and to save energy I placed my dog in the seat of the cart, knowing I had to lift 3 boxes of 12 packs. As I was returning to the soda section, a lady working for the store said, "you can't put your dog in there." I said "okay" and carried him while pushing the cart. I did find it a little unfriendly the way she greeted others but not me, but have also worked in customer service and let it go. If I were working there, I would have greeted the person and kindly told them the rule. But okay, it's only one occurrence. I also noticed this same worker greeting others but not me. Again, okay. I then got to the cahier and was not greeted or talked to at all, even when telling her "thank you" twice. She didn't respond and then said, "that dog is small for a service animal!" I just laughed and went on my way. I will not return to swensens again after this experience. I was singled out and treated poorly, or at the very least, coldly, by people who I was kind to. I believe in forgiveness, so I do forgive them. This does not mean I will return again and be subject to cold treatment as a paying customer who is kind. I do thank them for the deal on soda, but I would rather pay more and have a friendly cashier and grocer.

But the store itself is a very fun place to be at. When we were checking out all of the locals just kept chatting up talking about all the town gossip and things like that which was super fun for us. We also were able to ask them about the hidden secrets of lava hot springs. It was super great to be in such a welcoming place to visitors.

One may not remember but long time ago we had 2 grocery stores here in American Falls and healthy competition never hurts.
