There is a large parking lot making it convenient. The outdoor space has many tables and fire pits, and lots of turf to make it more cozy. While they didn't have anything while we were there, there was also a stage which sometimes has Irish dancing and other entertainment under a large outdoor tent. There are also outdoor TVs. The indoor space looks decent too, but we only popped our heads in - seems like a typical bar type setup with a festive crowd. We chose our own outdoor seats since they weren't busy, and were quickly brought waters and menus. We ordered the Bavarian pretzel, and opted to split a roast pork sandwich. (Sadly, I was too hungry and didn't snap pics of that part). The pretzel is huge and came with mustard and cheese -- overall, the perfect soft pretzel. Good thing we decided to split the sandwich because it was also huge. Flavor was good and we were both satisfied. Simple presentation and no fuss - kind of what we expected with the name Yard Pub. The beer I got wasn't great, nor were their options, so keep that in mind. Overall, the service was friendly and we found our meal and experience to be exactly what we were looking for. We actually sent my in-laws here when they were in town watching our dog and they enjoyed it as well.

It's fairly small with 7-8 tables and a dozen or so bar stools inside, but they have an outdoor seating area as well as a table out front. This table is the one without a TV in site. There were 7-8 inside, and 3-4 in the outdoor area. Every seats got a view making it a great place to catch a game. We sat at the bar and the other patrons were all friendly, as well as the staff. The bartenders were well versed in soccer, and many of the patrons were tuned into the game too, but some just came for drinks and food. They have a nice selection of beers handy and the menu had a surprising number of good options. I finally went with the burger and am so glad I did! It was absolutely gorgeous and cooked a perfect medium. My first bite and I knew it was a fresh patty. I asked if they made them in house but they actually get them from Wells, a Philly staple for good meats. Came with an ample portion of shoestring fries which were hot and crisp. Can't wait to head back and try some more of the menu options. If I can tear myself away from the burger anyway...

Early on a Sunday morning (8:30/9) there was plenty of seating available and no wait. Friendly faces greeted and sat us immediately. Our drinks in nice BIG mugs were on the table even before we could decide what to order. For me the Buffalo chicken sandwich on special caught my eye and I was sweating by the end of it. Great flavor, good heat, chicken extending far past the bun a win for me. For him, not so much. His omelet was on the small side, and favors were lacking. His side of scrapple thin - his toast unbuttered. Nothing worthy of complaining or sending back but definitely not like omelettes that we are used to getting. I would give The Kettle a solid 3.5 for the friendly service, comfortable atmosphere, and the chicken sandwich. Perhaps when in the area again we may stop back for another try

She is very picky about what she likes and luckily for some reason PJ's has several things on their menu that she enjoys and will actively order. It's actually one of the only places I have ever seen her put real thought into what she is going to get because she is attempting to decide between the different options available to her. I am also a big fan of their Cobb salad. There is nothing all that special about it; I am just a fan of their flavor spread and mix they choose for their Cobb and I love that it comes on a long rectangular plate. Everyone else is also always able to find something here that they will be happy with, which is also a big plus. There is nothing great and there is nothing bad about PJ's and it sits right in this Goldilocks zone where you can always know you'll simply be satisfied with your order, regardless of what it is. If you're one of those people who nitpicks every little detail in a chain restaurant, then I expect you to be right at home here, ruining the lives of the staff who are mostly younger, simply trying to make their way on to something else in their lives with a stop along the way in foodservice at this upgraded sports bar, tchotchke type restaurant. The menu is extensive and I have never had a problem in the multiple times that I have been to any of the multiple locations they boast. If there is a PJ Whelihan's near you, which there probably is, you should go. It will likely be a good experience and the food is good. It could possibly turn into a place you end up going frequently. The food is good and the prices are reasonable. They also have a rotating draft beer menu that isn't ever going to leave you enthralled, but it's enough to keep you entertained and coming back for a meal every once and a while, and that's good enough!
