So, I had been looking forward to coming here for the longest time after it being recommended as "the best Irish breakfast you'll ever have, better than in Ireland". This was coming from an Irish woman who had moved to the area less than five years earlier that we just happened to meet while at another interesting food establishment. I made sure to not to get too excited or put the Hibernian on a pedestal before trying because I didn't want to end up in any kind of disappointing situation, and wanted to give it a fair shot and not base me expectations solely on what was told to me by a few people. Unfortunately, I am a bit sore and surprised today as I found that while the service and people here are impeccable and the experience was wonderful, nothing I had was just as great as had been described, and I simply just wasn't wowed by much. However, the cafe con latte was outstanding! This little storefront and eatery is small and cramped, but that's part of its charm, and it has the old built in table booths that I love from the 70's. Being greeted immediately with a wonderful attitude, I was already ready for all the wonders I had been told this place kept locked inside and quickly found the cafe con latte I ordered was PERFECTLY crafted with a mellow coffee blend and just the right amount of milk to blend the flavors into caffeinated bliss. Then I ordered what I came for.....the Irish breakfast. Deciding to go with the small Irish breakfast was a smart move on my part because even that was pretty massive. Now, let me say, this is a FULL Irish breakfast. It's all there. Everything in its place, just like it should be, tables even complete with HP sauce. However, the potatoes were the best part. Not that it shouldn't be a great part, but they weren't true hash, and everything else was just lackluster. It was bland. The last thing I expected after being constantly told of Hibernian's legendary status. I'm sure this opinion is likely not popular either, with how much it appears that people love it here. The omelet we ordered was also just as baseline. Nothing special, and nothing to make it all that flavorful. There is always the possibility that I was here on an off day, and it's worth another shot, because it's not often you find a very cool place like this. All the people shouting about this being the greatest breakfast in town can't be wrong. They obviously have something that makes them very special and I feel like I may have simply missed it or it just wasn't present in my meal and I want to experience it so badly. But until I do, I simply can't say they're the best. Still worth a stop in if you're in the area though; not sure if you'll ever find another place that has both Mexican and Irish specialties in one place!

Small breakfast spot with reasonable prices. Pick up or eat inside, mom and pop shop ambiance, service was made to order, quick and friendly.

Hibernian coffee shop is in the cut, but you don't want to miss it! A very cute and small coffee shop with a lot of character! Service was amazing! It was my family and I's first time there and the waitress was very patient and accommodating. Every modification and request was taken care of, no questions asked. The food was great! Although the grits lack seasoning, those pancakes were so tasty! For the price, you get plenty of food! Will definitely be back!

Traditional Irish breakfast and 3pc French toast

Eggcellent diner food options with an Irish twist. Seating is limited but there's fast turnover with the speedy service. Ordered the full Irish and got everything my heart wanted and more. The blood sausages were crispy and the bangers were delicious. That plus the beans and eggs over easy, all together, can't go wrong! They had the usual table condiments but also some truly "across the pond favourites" of malt vinegar and this HP sauce which reminded me of A1 and, per their recommendation, went fantastic with the beans. Parter got some French toast (in addition to sharing the huge full Irish breakfast). I don't usually like French toast but this was fantastically crispy and eggy in a way I haven't had before, might be a convert! It had a fair crowd on a Sunday morning so it's not slept on at least, for very good reason. Make a point to check out this place!

About 25 minutes from Art Museum. Very friendly lady who has owned place for last 17 years. Great coffee and Irish breakfast. Lot of snacks and chocolate candy. Inside, you feel like you're in Southie before it got bougie

Food and service is about average for a diner style restaurant. They're friendly enough, the food is cheap and it's usually served hot. I've had better, I've had worse for frills dining.

This is a family favorite. We have gone here enough times that the waitress asked me where my daughter was this morning, when we stopped in for breakfast. My daughter is off at college and we she comes home for break she will make sure to drop in, she loves the scones, colcannon, and chicken curry. Today I had a small Irish breakfast (eggs, beans, fried tomatoes, potatoes, and a variety of Irish breakfast meats), a side of curry sauce, and a sugar scone with coffee. My husband had beans, over toast topped with a fried egg and coffee. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious. The shop has a variety of Irish and Mexican grocery items at the front of the restaurant to take home. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner with a choice of Irish, Mexican, and American menu items. It's always a treat to come into this local Delco establishment and enjoy some international flavors. It goes without saying we'll be back!

Just stopped in for the first time today. I love places like this. Independent small business restaurants with a unique theme. I'm not sure why it's Irish and Mexican, but I love it! My friend had fish and chips, and I got a veggie breakfast wrap (they serve breakfast all day!). He let me try the chips on his plate and they were delicious. I also tried an Irish soda. Everything was delicious and the people who worked there were nice. Bathroom was very clean. Lots of unique specialty items from the UK for sale as well, including Cadbury chocolate.

I've passed this tidy little store front coffee shop too many times to mention. Decided to finally pop in for breakfast. Showed up "late", or around 8:45 on a Sunday and was happy to get one of 6-8 small booths right away. Inside is no less quaint. The owners maintained the heavy Irish decor while influences of their Mexican heritage are on the menu! Where else can you get an Irish Breakfast perfectly wrapped in tortilla to make an Irish breakfast wrap. The front of the restaurant doubles as shelf goods from the UK and Mexico.

    Homemade chips!

So I've been to many British food places, and this was the best one so far! The curry and chips were amazing! I've not come across one place that has real homemade chips like back home in the uk, I travelled an hour to go there, they also have lots of British groceries, all reasonably priced, the service was brilliant! I think I have found my new favorite place, I need to try the whole menu! Fish and chips next, also the curry reminded me of back home, so if any Brit's out there wanna a taste of back home?! This is your place. Highly recommend, 10/10.

[589] I've been wanting to check this highly rated place for months so when my friend wanted to meet for breakfast I knew the place we should visit. There is metered parking across the street so don't let the busy street scare you away. The restaurant is a small business so make sure you pay in cash if you can. Pedro is the cook and he is very friendly so it was easy talking to him. The waitress (didn't catch her name) was very nice as well and very attentive. There is a small grocery store in the front which is great to pick up local items. The restaurant is set up with booths unless there are 2 of you .. you can sit at a smaller table. My veggie omelet was very tasty. I really enjoyed the homemade home fries. I added onions but I could have skipped that. My friend had eggs and sausage and she enjoyed it. She is a frequent customer. I saw some other tasty looking items I want to try for lunch. So.. I'll definitely be back.

    Breakfast burrito with guacamole

Food is always amazing as is the service. They have a whole selection of British and Irish candies, cookies and jellies. This is my absolute favorite, breakfast burrito with their verde, red and guacamole. Absolutely bit pricey but absolutely delicious

    Miguel V.

Had to say this place is a gem. A family owned and run establishment with great breakfast. The service was amazing and the food was equally amazing. Definitely see this place as a Sunday morning before church spot. Will be returning for certain

The staff said that is from the bar drains that are in that corner. Try to stay away from that end. The bar area also has a stage area where there is live entertainment some evenings, ranging from open mic, live bands, quizzo, DJ/dance floor, and karaoke. They also have a large screen they use to broadcast major sporting events. The restaurant tables are typical casual dining style with a mixture of free standing tables and chairs. There are separate areas for larger groups and private parties. The staff is friendly and attentive. As they get to know you, they remember your name and your usual food and drink orders. Kudos to the bartenders for knowing what "up" means! I always get my goto drink, Grey Goose up with a twist, prepared properly and generously here. Can't say that about some bars in Delco I have been to--either incorrect or overpriced. The food is overall typical for a casual dining/bar. There are some must-try items on the menu. If you like crabmeat, the Norwood tots are a different twist with how to have crabmeat. Creative! The pizzas are pretty good as well. I am very much a "purist" when it comes to what a pizza should be made of, but the cauliflower-crust is my exception. I haven't had good pizza in Delco until I had the cauliflower-crust pizza. A thin, crispy crust! Not the thick, doughy crust that I have encountered with most Delco pizza places. For those that don't like cauliflower, have no fear. The cauliflower-crust pizza does not taste like cauliflower. You would not know it contains cauliflower. There are also some great specials I have enjoyed. One special I really loved was the halibut with risotto. I could eat that EVERY day! I come here pretty often. I have come here for lunch, dinner, drinks, and held my 50th birthday party here. Always a good experience.

I ordered the roast beef sandwich with fries...my friend ordered muscles and the ham sandwich special. The muscles arrived cold. Not warm, not tepid...just cold. They were sent back for a trip in the microwave which is a place that shellfish should never journey too...if you want them to remain tender. When I ordered, I asked about a few items and was assured that "people love the roast beef". Now I've had "French Dip" style roast beef before at other restaurants, and when done right...it's a memorable experience. Crusty toasted torpedo style roll brimming with thinly sliced hot beef...provolone cheese melted over the top and down the sides...served with a side of au jus dipping sauce, that you would want to slurp down a soup bowl full. But this...was not that! The sandwich arrived on a hamburger style bun...the meat was piled "adequately" in the center but sloped off considerably as it headed for the edge of the bun. There was no need to worry about meat falling out as I took a bite...as none of it protruded past the buns edge. The cheese was there...a single uninspired round slice covered the cold and somewhat soggy bottom of the bun... and wasn't melted...at all! I suspect that the kitchen assumed that the meat would melt the cheese...but the meat would have to be hot for that to happen. In this sandwich...the closer you got to the middle of the "meat mound"...the colder it got. And little did I know when asked if I wanted provolone on the sandwich...that it would be an additional charge. Now for my fries. They weren't hot...they weren't even warm...they were "ice cold"! I sent them back light heartedly joking that there must be a door open in the kitchen (it was a cold evening) and the server returned shortly with hot fresh ones...minus the pickles that were on my plate. This goes to show that fries can reach the table...hot. The hot ham and cheese sandwich "special", served on a pretzel bun, wasn't hot...and wasn't special. I saw no melted cheese...only thin dry slices of ham, stiff as roofing shingles, protruded from the roll. There was no mustard...no sauce...no "something special" to make the "special", special... just stiff little sad ham planks...wondering where they went wrong On both recent visits...the service has been "spotty". (I know that cell service in the pub isn't spotty, because on my first visit...both servers had their heads buried in their phones). It doesn't seem like there's a real system in place for insuring that the customers receive "attentive" service. To their credit...they did remove the muscles from the check without us asking...but I never got a feeling that the next party to walk through the door...would have a better experience. When you find a good local pub with great food...it's like going to eat at grandmas house. You know that you'll always leave feeling warm, wanted, and fed really well. And you'll be excited by the thought of a return visit. I'm still looking.
