Apparently I signed during a promotional period and this was listed in the very lengthy contract - I made the mistake of taking the mangers messaging at face value and she failed to mention this very important detail. My rent increased more than 50% in the 4th month and I was surprised, to say the least. When I called to bring this to Kristin's attention, she simply stated "it's not part of our process to mention any rent increase while signing." This feels a bit scammy - you have a new tenant who thinks they're going to be paying a specific fee for the duration of their rental period... only for it to increase exponentially with no remorse for not being forthcoming during my signing process. I was basically met with a "not my problem" attitude and it was quite rude. When I was shopping for storage providers, I went with this specific unit because it was the most affordable. I realize now I should have went a different route and it is simply too late to move my belongings to an alternative space as I would have to hire movers to do so. Do better.

We needed to change units since we were going to store furniture and boxes in ours and didn't want the oil seeping into our stuff. Initially the offer seems really good--one month free and then $179/month for an 8x25' unit. Then, 2 days shy of our SECOND month, they raised the rent to $214, a 20% INCREASE! Wow. That's outrageous! So don't be fooled by the "one month free!" because you'll pay for it. We won't be staying long and I hope you consider other storage options unless you want your monthly rate to be increased regularly. Very disappointing.

That I was unable to take, and I was asked to leave a $40 deposit in case of any damage to the unit....now when I went back to retrieve my things with the help from my sister and a family friend. The things that bugged me was that when I left to go and run a quick errand why they stayed there to finish taking things out. The employee asked them if I was exiting. They said yes but what bugged me was that the employee didn't check in with ME. The person who was renting the unit! Now fast forward to when I got back and and I'm taking in my things out my sister called her friend to help put something's that didn't fit into her car. When I used my code it didn't let them in. When I went into the office and asked I was met with the rudest employee. She gave me attitude and could not get my name right. I don't know if it was the way I was dressed (I had a black long sleep and blue jeans) but for some reason she felt entitled be rude and stuck up. To which I returned her attitude back at her. Now when she had figured out that I was in fact the person renting the storage space her attitude changed. And had used her code to let the car in. Finally after fitting everything into the cars and as I left to go get the deposit they made me pay. They claimed to "we never have taken deposits." When I vividly remember one of the managers (I believe her name was Pamela) asking for a deposit for any possible damages to the unit. Now seeing as I had no receipt to prove the deposit. And not wanting to be there already tired of their incompetence I left

It is very clean, no dust on the floor, no foul odor, no wet odor. I don't feel like my items will be damaged being stored here. I think the price is great considering how clean and secure this location is. I would say it is less for more compared to other locations in town. I like the security of the gate where you need a pin to enter, video surveillance, and the hours 7-7 where the gate will lock without entry even with pin. Move in day I was 3 min behind the arrival of the moving truck. They kindly let them in the gate which was awesome!

This place is just plain awful…read more The storage unit itself is fine. The isle in between units its kind of small. But my real problem has been with their Customer Service and Management. If you want to have to baby your payment each month for this feel free to get a unit here. If you like to be able to just pay for your unit at the beginning of the month and not have to worry about your stuff being sold, this is not the place for you. Back-story: I rented out my unit at the end of March 2012, made a payment by debit card for April as well. Gave them a call on the first of May, paid by debit card again over the phone. Everything seemed fine... June 1st I thought it would just be rinse and repeat but I was poorly mistaken. They stated that I owed them both May and June's rent and was being charged a late fee for May... I stated to them that I had paid for it and they told me that I would have to wait and call them back because they would have to look for my payment. I told her no, that she needed to call me back because I would be waiting... I also at this time made the payment for my June rent. I wanted to be quick and get that debt off the account - as I feared for my stuff with their crazy contract they make you sign 900 times.... They never called. I called back after the weekend and they had still not cleared my account. At this point I offered to bring in my bank statement so they could see the charge on my card. I then dropped it off in an envelope and slid it under the door. I never heard anything again about it so I assumed that it was fine. About mid June I received a notice stating that I was getting charged a late fee because I had not paid my rent for June..... I called and then they were finally getting it all cleared... They never apologized once for all of the hassle I had to go through until the very end of this conversation and I was never compensated in anyway. At this point, I am considering going through the annoyance of moving all of my stuff from one storage unit to another at a different company; just so I do not have to go through this every month.

Yes, there's theme rooms -- we were in The Wild Ones room, motorcycle themed! It was really fun, honestly. Bedroom was clean, bathroom was clean, bed comfy. It is a little outdated maybe, but nothing wrong with it. I'd stay there again the next time I'm in Hollister. Thumbs up! (oh, and the Happy Cafe across the street has great Chinese food!)
