Newish, very clean store with friendly, polite staff. It has never felt overwhelmingly crowded any of the times I've gone in. I don't like their sale signs, they are hard to see from a distance. This new Hannaford seems to satisfy the company's need to have a store within easy reach of approximately every 3rd exit off I-87 (they have other stores near exits 2E, 6, 9, 15, and 18, so this fills a void). It makes good business sense, as there is a lot of traffic on NY 67 west and NY 50 north, particularly during the evening rush hour. Also, the only other grocery store reasonably convenient was the Price Chopper in the village of Malta, whose motto appears to be "More Roundabouts? Sure!" The store is actually quite aesthetically pleasing. It's well laid out, particularly the produce department. It's brightly lit, and the aisles are easily wide enough for shopping carts going in opposite directions to not interfere with each other. There's a large dining area in the front, with a utensils stand including a microwave. If you're a regular shopper at Hannaford, the organization of the store will feel familiar, except for the beer aisle being closer to the produce/pharmacy departments. It was well stocked and clean, though that's understandable, as it's only been open 6 days as of this review. A few nits: Disappointed that they don't have a hot air hand dryer in the men's room... the salad bar containers don't have the 4-digit number on them for ease of entry at the self-checkout stands (though the newer self-checkout software does have a nice search facility)... only 3 self-checkouts, and I predict there will be a back-up of customers wanting to use these, especially if any break down (which seems to happen more than it should). Of these, only the last one is likely to bother anyone. I'm certainly glad to see a Hannaford here, as opposed to what might have otherwise gone in. read more

I absolutely love this store! The prices are great especially for meats. The staff is so wonderful and accommodating. I was waiting in line and a women asked a cashier where the apple cider vinegar was and without missing a beat he said "isle 2, on the right, bottom shelf." I was blown away at how concise he was! The produce are always fresh. They have Bok choy! Something I hadn't been able to find any where else. I used the rest room once, it was clean and actually smelled great. They also sell banana almond milk which isn't sold every where. It's always a great experience every time:) read more

Huge store, big selection. The bakery items were delicious and moist. We got the cheese danishes, sugar cookies, and full size blueberry muffins. There are a lot of options for milk and cheese, but not that many options for frozen pizza or organic produce. read more

I had been making some appetizers for my nephew's birthday party the next day and realized I needed a can of olives. It was 10:45 pm and I knew Hannaford closed at 11:00 pm. I arrived at 10:50 pm and there was a woman standing outside the door. She said she had gotten there at 10:45 and the doors were locked already. There were cashiers inside who totally ignored our knocking. They were standing there holding garbage bags. They were getting ready to walk out. Finally some slovenly man named Tom came to the door at 10:50 saying that they closed so that the employees could get out on time. Why then does the sign say 11:00. I was just disgusted by him and his warped logic. I know I will now drive the extra miles to go to any other store than that Hannaford. I suggest you do the same! read more

A family member and I had a very negative shopping checkout experience at Hannaford located at Rossi Way Ballston Spa, NY. The customer service manager worked as the cashier. She was belligerent and insisted that we must load the conveyer belt fully before she began checkout. I told her my family member had been injured previously at Hannaford by being pressured to load the shopping belt faster and in a hurried pace. The manager did not seem to care and stated that this was their worker "earn time" policy. Hannaford has an awful "earn time" policy for their employees whereby cashiers are timed once they begin customer checkout. I am shocked that customers are treated so poorly so that employees can in the words of the customer service manager, "earn time". Whatever happened to good customer service? Apparently, Hannaford is all about corporate profit and NOT about customer service. I am so done with the rudeness, bossiness, and aggression at the checkout counter from their employees and customer service manager. They don't care about customers and are only concerned with trying to earn bonuses at the expense of customers. When the manager saw that I was upset and very concerned, she should have told me that it was okay to load the conveyor belt at a more comfortable pace instead of demanding that this high-speed rate was the policy and that I must abide by it so that she could earn "some time". Horrible customer service. Hannaford is good only as a quick stop for just a few items. If you have a full shopping cart, be prepared to have the cashiers race your order as fast as they can while the bagger has to fill up your cart even faster. The cashier doesn't stop pushing your items down the belt and it piles up like a mountain. Some of it may drop but they don't care. As long as they earn their rewards, that's all that matters. The customer is just part of their disgusting Hannaford employee reality game for rewards. I was a regular customer but no longer will I subject myself to this aggravation. read more

This is the biggest Hannaford in the area. New stores are often the biggest of their kind yet, and the better selection at this store compared to Clifton Park is noticeable. Beyond that, I have to give them a 5 because they built the store where Walmart was supposed to go! It looked inevitable Walmart was going to be there, but the best local Hannaford is instead.
