I thought it waa about time to review this store now that we've been shopping here for over a year…read more This is an overall winner - aisles are clean and wide enough, the store is well-lit, prices on most items are competitive or comparable to all other major grocery stores in the area, checkouts are never too busy and lines are never excessively long, and they seem to do a great keeping the stock level on produce and most of what we need. Staff are generally friendly and helpful although it can be a bit of a wait for assistance at a self-checkout, which I hope they continue to improve.

The Eastern Parkway store in Schenectady was updated a few years ago, and it is easy to shop. It is clean, well organized, and well lit. The produce section is outstanding and superior to the nearby Hannaford. The selection is great. I found quality Chestnuts imported from Italy for only $7.99 lb., fresh vegetables, and premium Pomegranate. All of the produce was organized and labeled well. Shelves were neat. Aisles were easy to move around in. I found a turkey sculpted butter which I was unable to find elsewhere. The children like the figural butter for the rolls I make. Photo included. The bakery manager was great. She made up six Thanksgiving custom cupcakes for me while I shopped. Since I had to wait. She took $3.00 off the purchase price. She packed the decorations for the top of each in a baggie so that the top of the plastic cupcake container could be closed. She was eager to please and efficient. I wish I had gotten her name to thank her again! Photos included! The deli department is excellent. Also, the store made to go items are plentiful. The salads are delicious. I purchased two chicken parm dinners at $6.99 each to give to my husband on days when I am out in case there are no leftovers for him. They freeze and heat up nicely. Decent for the convenience and the price. Throughout my shopping experience, I was asked kindly if I needed assistance several times. I did. The staff person offered to take me to the item. Great attitudes! Parking was great. Staff were efficient and courteous. They always ask if I need help putting the bags in my car. This does not happen at Hannaford. Definitely a Five Star experience on Eastern Parkway in Schenectady today. I like to support this market because it is the only full scale market left in the city of Schenectady. It can be accessed from the inner city by bus or taxi. It is important to me that this store location remains available to all residents.

I thought the layout of the store made sense and was easy to navigate, the prices were slightly below average and they had plantain chips! Fellow customers were polite normal people. I encountered no scary or rude people. The appearance/cleanliness of the entrance area could use a bit of TLC, but the niceness of the staff and the prices mean a lot more to me. Plus they have a large produce section and - most importantly- they accepted my Aetna grocery card.

I was extremely unhappy and frustrated with this Walmart as it relates to their photo center…read moreservice. I've used it before and while the system has a very clunky interface, it generally yielded pretty good pictures for gifts or personal use. Last night (11/4/25) I went there with the express purpose of getting 2 8x10 pictures printed. I utilized the instant kiosk and was informed (by the system) that it wasn't working so, I used the one hour service. I selected the images, uploaded them to the system, and placed the order. I waited around for over an hour and got no notice (text as was what I would have expected) that the order was completed. I returned to the register and was informed that the system wasn't working. Here's a bizarre idea, PUT UP A FREAKING SIGN!!!!. It would have cost Walmart a single sheet of paper, 1/4 inch of scotch tape and crayon to produce a sign that simply said the system was not operational. I left upset that I blew that much time for no reason. The following day I attempted to call to ask them if it would be possible to put a sign so that others were not subjected to the frustration that I had experienced. I tried three times to call and ask for a manager. The operator never picked up the phone. I guess the notion of "customer service" is a myth with this store. I drove back that morning (20 minutes) to lodge the complaint in person. No manager was available so i spoke with someone at the "customer service" counter. With no satisfaction. Very frustrated and angry. I won't be back...

I placed an online order 12/16 at 12:34pm. The order was processed through the Walmart Home Offie in Bentonville. Then 3 hrs later This store processed an unauthorized charge for $177 then a 2nd charge for $179. I called the store and spoke to the first person that answered. I told him someone there fraudently used my card there and he said replied by saying we do not take EBT, I told him I never mentioned EBT and he said "yes you did". I replied "No I didnt." He then mumbled something an hung up the phone. I called the NY Police and reported this and they told me to call my local police. I called my local police and filed a police report. People needs to know whats going on and someone needs to do something about this, if you look at their reviews, I am not the only person that this has happened to, there are multiple people in various states. They're stealing from us and nobody is connecting the DOTs. Google the Walmart home office and you'll see other people has comlained about this as well. These two places are connected and they're robbing people blind. Please Help! FYI I live in Alabama not NY, There's no way I could've been in both places at the same time.
