It's…read morebeen around for years, my family likes the Hannaford brand food items such as light cream, eggs, pastries, etc. Friendly staff who knows the store layout really well, always willing to price check food items and bags grocery perfectly. There's self checkout with 6 registers. I prefer self checkout bc it's quicker and convenient. Not many local grocery store has self checkout. Clink bottle deposit make recycling plastic bottles, cans and glass easier and efficient. Purchase the clink bag at the front register for $5, stick on your clink sticker to the bag, fill up the clink bags then drop off the bag at the clink station. The clink team will do the work to process money to your clink account. You can find your account balance on the clink machine. To use the clink money, you have the option to withdraw cash or donation. Hannaford also provides curbside pick up. There's a specific lane for curbside, from what I've heard from family, it's very efficient and effortless curbside experience. The team ensures to pack fresh food items for curbside orders. You just drive up your car, team member will drop off the order to your car.

The crew behind this deli counter is at is again, this time delivering with a fantastic Italian mix…read moresub. In the mood for a lunchtime Saturday sandwich, I decided the Co-Op would fit the bill. I had a hankering for an Italian mixed sub, gave some specific instructions, and they delivered. I can be a little picky when it comes to my sandwiches; I like my deli meat thinly sliced, sandwiches just taste better that way to these taste buds?! So this time, I wanted thinly sliced ham, pepperoni, and salami, with red onion, shredded lettuce, and that good good red wine viniagtette, on a sub roll. All the ratios addeded up in my book; the thinly sliced meat complimenting the healthy squeeze of the red wine vinaigrette dressing, all while not making the bread soggy -- that's key. Nothing worse than soggy bread, IMHO. So in closing, I will be back for this sandwich and I hope it's this perfect every time!!

We finally made it to this local grocery store and were pleasantly surprised. There's plenty we found appealing about the experience, from the clean and spacious aisles and clear labels to the full range of goods we weren't sure we would find, including bakery, deli, produce, and pet foods. Staff at checkout was energetically friendly and I left thinking that I wouldn't mind going back at all. There's limited parking directly in front of the shop but more across the road. Apparently the co-op was established some 80 years ago and has gone through several transformations. I have a soft spot for local businesses and independent grocers, so here's hoping they stay open for many more years.

RUDE, RIUDE, RUDE! I…read moreLOVE the Whole Foods food bar. However, this one not so much. It's not the food it was an employee we encountered on 8/22/26. When we walked in, we noticed that the food bar was not totally open yet. Some of the food was out, but not all of it. My husband politely asked an employee who was placing food into the trays when it would all be ready. She literally looked at my husband like he was an idiot (not exaggerating) with epic double stink eyes and said.."Well I'm putting it out now!" He asked again when it would all be out because we wanted to come back. She curtly replied, "AS SOON AS I'M DONE!" It was so rude and an embarrassment for such a great place. By the way, an additional employee who was there actually laughed at us. Perhaps she needs a vacation or a lesson in civility? The stars are for the food, not the employees..

The Eastern Parkway store in Schenectady was updated a few years ago, and it is easy to shop. It is clean, well organized, and well lit. The produce section is outstanding and superior to the nearby Hannaford. The selection is great. I found quality Chestnuts imported from Italy for only $7.99 lb., fresh vegetables, and premium Pomegranate. All of the produce was organized and labeled well. Shelves were neat. Aisles were easy to move around in. I found a turkey sculpted butter which I was unable to find elsewhere. The children like the figural butter for the rolls I make. Photo included. The bakery manager was great. She made up six Thanksgiving custom cupcakes for me while I shopped. Since I had to wait. She took $3.00 off the purchase price. She packed the decorations for the top of each in a baggie so that the top of the plastic cupcake container could be closed. She was eager to please and efficient. I wish I had gotten her name to thank her again! Photos included! The deli department is excellent. Also, the store made to go items are plentiful. The salads are delicious. I purchased two chicken parm dinners at $6.99 each to give to my husband on days when I am out in case there are no leftovers for him. They freeze and heat up nicely. Decent for the convenience and the price. Throughout my shopping experience, I was asked kindly if I needed assistance several times. I did. The staff person offered to take me to the item. Great attitudes! Parking was great. Staff were efficient and courteous. They always ask if I need help putting the bags in my car. This does not happen at Hannaford. Definitely a Five Star experience on Eastern Parkway in Schenectady today. I like to support this market because it is the only full scale market left in the city of Schenectady. It can be accessed from the inner city by bus or taxi. It is important to me that this store location remains available to all residents.

The first thing that you notice when you walk into Garofalo's is how great it smells: it's like getting hit in the face with a cinder block of glorious fucking awesomeness. It smells THAT good. I love it. I really don't think there's a single thing here that isn't fantastic. I'm especially in love with their smoked ribs. The stuffed pork chops are awesome. They make all sorts of phenomenal sausages. They also sell a variety of other things: various cheeses, meats, spices, canned tomatoes, olive oil and more. The staff at Garofalo's are great as well. They're very friendly. This place is obviously in the best hands. If you're not familiar with the area, it might be a little tricky to find because it's on a weird little road. There really isn't any parking (I normally walk here from my Schenectady office anyway), so the best place is to just park in the lot around the bend behind Perreca's and Cornell's. Garofalo's is well within walking distance from there. Garofalo's accepts credit cards, but there's a minimum amount (which is $15 if I recall correctly). Be warned: If you're going there today for the smoked ribs, you're SOL. I'm pretty sure I bought them out for the day. That's how I roll.
