Some of the employees and customers were somewhat stand offish or not welcoming to me and my wife, which was pretty impolite as we were just purchasing groceries.

Clearly, they need the ventilation system checked (regrettably oil for deep frying is infrequently changed anywhere). I was worried, however, my clothing was going to reek of it from having been in the store. The vile odor of the seafood section nearly knocks you over entering that same entrance and it gets more staggering as you approach the seafood aisle. I suspect this is for two reasons: first, it's clear that the crushed ice isn't changed regularly, much less daily (as it should be) -- which is likely contaminating the fish on said ice. Second, the fish itself is aged and previously defrosted and aged and likely well on the road to decomposing. I hold my breath if ever in the also adjacent pharmacy area. It's seriously gross. It screams unsanitary and likely unsafe. I rarely eat deep fried food and I'd certainly not get it here. And, there is absolutely no way I'd buy seafood here. The Slingerlands store is little better, but the fish counter area is somewhat less repulsive. The main reason to come here are for the produce (well maintained and extensive choice), the dairy section (decent), and the canned goods (standard) . Otherwise not great to poor. Let me note, the seafood sections at Whole Foods, Honest Weight, and The Fresh Market don't stink.

Very rude staff at the pharmacy…read more I was asking about health care coverage and the pharmacist up front was annoyed I even asked. At the end of the call I started to say "thank you for your help" but instead of letting me finish the sentence she hung up on me. Didn't even say goodbye. She might be having a rough day, but it's unacceptable to talk to customers like that, especially when it's on medical questions. If you have a staff member who is rude to customers, it may be time to find a new place to work. I will be contacting the store to file a complaint.

I got used to shopping at aTrader Joe's on Wolf Road in Colonie even though the lack of parking-- until recent years-- made me nuts. The addition of parking in the rear behind the store helped to resolve many of the headaches. For those who are still frustrated by the parking situation at the Wolf Road location and find the Half Moon store to be too far away, you're likely to enjoy shopping in Glenmont. I found all of my favorite foods there. It didn't miss a beat. The store is located in a shopping plaza next to Home Goods. There's parking as far as the eye can see. I skipped the grand opening. Not fond of crowds. The staff is every bit as nice and helpful as the employees at other stores. The interior is just what you'd expect of a new Trader Joe's. It's shiny clean with nice displays. Plenty of stock. If anything, the store seemed a bit more spacious. Perhaps it was because of the time of day. I picked a time when there weren't crowds. Specifically, I showed up on a week day before schools let out. I like the convenience of this Glenmont store. I think shopping there will become part of my new normal.

Sure enough, I found that to be true. I introduced myself as a new resident to the neighborhood and explained that this was my first visit to their store. The owner introduced himself in like and stated if there is anything that I needed but couldn't find, they would do their best to offer it in the future. The store isn't the most organized but it's only because they carry so many different items that you'll be hard-pressed to not find what you need. From groceries, paper products, cleaning supplies, and health and beauty supplies. You'll find lots of natural products which fits the shop's name. Support local businesses! Support this store!

The employee who helped with unlocking the case and paying for the Roku had zero personality but did help us get what we needed. At first he said they didn't have the Roku but I showed him the the photo of the item and isle number is was in and he found a second location where they were keeping that Roku. The employee who checked us out at the register was much more friendly. We visited on a Monday afternoon, so we didn't run into too many of the issues that other reviewers are complaining about. All-in-all, it's a Walmart and it got the job done for our needs today.

I asked for the four plates to be cut into steaks which I've done on occasion when feeling lazy on 10lb+ orders, but this time seemed different and they kept all the points -- the plate is a triangle. I didn't realize that they'd keep so much of the "trimmings" so I went from 11.88lbs to just over 9 which means they kept just over 2.5 lbs which presumably goes into their ground beef. Works out to $20 a lb for me. I did have a pleasant FB messenger conversation with someone, but I've been a member at Costco for 20 years (kept my membership active) so I'll be going back to them full time. My advice to customers. Ask for the trimmings if you're asking them to butcher any meat product. Especially picahna which is super easy to do. My advice to Fred's. Ask the customers if they want the trimmings.
