Upon walking it, it was seemingly busy and poppin' for a Saturday afternoon (that's what I like to see)! Grabbed a seat at the high top tables (seating also available at the bar, in the back record room, and a small couch when walking in). Options are 2 different tasting flights (they have 2 different labels) or by the glass. Was able to mix and match the two flights to personalize it (very accommodating) and throughly enjoyed everything. Only negative thing was due to the business, it was quite loud. Service got a bit slow since they were busy, but that happens when only one person is working, so just be patient. A great spot for a mid-day wine sip, something downtown Petaluma needed. Welcome!

Obviously they have an extensive wine list and they are extremely knowledgeable about all things wine so it makes ordering easier. We were with a large group of about 10 people so we shared bottles as well as ordered by the glass. Several people in the group were raving about the soup of the day, saying how delicious it was and they have had it before. Soup wasn't my first thought with wine but I'm so glad I got it. It was filled with white beans, veggies, and so flavorful. I don't remember the exact name of it but I still think about how good it was. It literally was the best soup I've ever had! They have a great food menu in general. The vibe of the place is upbeat and chill at the same time. Besides being beautiful with wine as decor, it's a cozy feel with groups and couples all enjoying themselves. It's an upscale look but you feel like you are at a friend's house. Highly recommend stopping in for a glass, or bottle of wine and some food!

So far we have tried a few different dishes. For appetizers, we had PÂTÉ EN CROÛTE AUX CHAMPIGNONS D'HIVER and ESCARGOTS AND MARROW BONE. My husband was a huge fan of the marrow bone. He said it was rich in flavor and had a buttery/creamy texture. For entrees, my husband ordered the WAGYU STEAK FRITES BEARNAISE and I got the Moules-frites featuring steamed mussels served with French fries. The Wagyu steak was slightly more cooked than we would have preferred, but other than that, it was juicy and seasoned well. My Moules-frites were AMAZING! The mussels were sweet, tender, and perfectly cooked, and the broth they were served in was absolutely out of this world. The fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Plus, we got some Della Fattoria bread with our meal, which is always a nice touch. For desserts, we tried: CHOCOLATE FONDANT - Brigitte Sea Salt Caramel Ice Cream: a perfect balance between rich chocolate and sweet, salty caramel. PISTACHIO TIRAMISU TABLE SIDE was the best! It was incredibly creamy, with a rich mascarpone filling and a wonderful pistachio flavor. And ILE FLOTTANTE (FLOATING ISLAND): the meringue practically melted in my mouth. It was light, creamy, sweet, and had a salty note that made it perfectly balanced. The service is incredible. Every single employee is welcoming, kind, smiling, and attentive. The owner is always nearby, making sure everything is running smoothly and taking the time to greet and check on guests. The restaurant is pretty small, so I would definitely advise you to make a reservation. It gets packed really quickly, and we have seen multiple parties waiting outside for the next available table. The parking lot is also on the smaller side, so one of the times we were here, we had to park up the street. I would 100% recommend this restaurant. Every time we crave French food, Brigitte Bistro is where we go!

Jason is a hoot - he's super friendly and of course knowledgeable about wines, no matter the occasion. I've not had a single bad wine from his shop, and he's actually turned us on to many lesser known varietals/regions that often are exceptional values. His wine club is a great value at $38/month for your choice of two wines ($19/bottle) between two red and two white wine offers, for which he emails very detailed notes, along with Petaluma's best dry humor, once per month. On top of that, you can buy as many bottles as you want at the club price if you want more, you get 15% off any other bottle in the shop, and you get discounted by-the-glass wines if you ever feel like popping in for a drink. Now that we've amassed a large collection of wine, we've had to cancel all of our wine clubs, but not this one - it's too good of a value. What I love about the shop is that you can find some cult classics and high end wines (I think I saw a '16 Mouton Rothschild sitting on a rack), but also wines from small producers, many local. Speak to Jason and tell him what you're looking for and he'll find you something exceptional in your price range, whether it's for every day drinking, a special occasion, or a gift.

Small wine list with good choices from South America and if you order by the glass you will be amazed at the size of the pours; double what one would normally get! Two of us had the Paella which was very good, a third ordered the excellent Lamb Shank and the fourth had the top notch Pork Rib platter which completely disappeared very quickly. Perhaps next time we'll try the Ceviche as we will return if they can remain in business with such little traffic. While not inexpensive the value is solid as you would pay far more in any other good Sonoma County restaurants for similar dishes. Polite if a bit shy service but man did she light up when we went head over heels over her family home made hot sauces which are a "must try" if you have an appropriate appetizer. The service was outstanding from start to finish, but what really impressed me was seeing Chef/Owner Tony Najiola actively overseeing every aspect of the operation. He visited tables, checked on guests, and was clearly involved in every detail of the dining experience. That's something you rarely see anymore, especially from a restaurant owner who has been doing this for more than two decades, and it deserves to be applauded. Everything we ordered was fantastic. The shoestring zucchini was a great starter, the lobster risotto was rich and perfectly prepared, and the Testarossa pizza was absolutely outstanding. Pairing it all with a Pliny the Elder made for a perfect Sonoma County dinner. Central Market isn't just a great restaurant, it's the kind of place that reminds you why locally owned restaurants matter. We will definitely be back the next time we're in Petaluma.

This review reflects my experience with the restaurant's gift card process and, more specifically,…read morethe lack of communication, follow-through, and accountability from owner Tony Najiola over the course of several months. This review is not a reflection of the restaurant's food, service, or dining experience. In November 2025 I purchased a $150 gift card through Central Market's website via Toast. The gift card was never received. I first reached out in February 2026 to inquire about the missing gift card. Tony responded the following day suggesting that I may have been scammed. After I clarified that the purchase was made directly through Central Market's website, he acknowledged that he had misunderstood, stated that this was a known issue, and told me he would contact Toast to investigate. March 2026: A month passed with no update whatsoever. I called the restaurant and spoke with Tony directly. He told me that I would need to contact Toast myself--a completely different answer from what had previously been discussed. April 2026: I informed Tony via email that Toast's customer service system specifically states that support is intended for restaurant businesses, not customers. I followed up again by email on 4/30 asking if he had received my message and whether there was any update. I have received no response since. What is most disappointing is the lack of clarity and consistency throughout this process. At various points, I was told I may have been scammed, then told it was a known issue that would be investigated, and finally told to resolve it myself through a company that does not provide support to customers in this situation. Not once was there a proactive update, clear explanation, or meaningful attempt to resolve the issue. More than five months after paying $150, I still do not have the gift card (which was intended as a Christmas present for a close friend), a refund, or even the courtesy of a response to my follow-up emails. When a business takes a customer's money, there should be some level of accountability when something goes wrong. At this point, I can only conclude that customer service is not a priority. The complete lack of communication and follow-through has left me feeling that my concerns--and my business--simply do not matter. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution others against purchasing gift cards through their website.
