    korean bbq bowl and wings
    Julie Ying X.

This place seemed like the most popular Asian spot in Banff. It seemed affordable and who doesn't love Korean street food? We ordered the Korean BBQ bowl (BBQ pork, egg strips, salad, dumplings, rice) and the wings. The bowl had a lot of ingredients and it was very filling. It was a bit bland though without the sauce. The wings were better and I liked the peanuts on top which I don't see at many Korean fried chicken places. This is a solid option if you're in town and looking for a quick bite.

Omg the minute I walked in, I could instantly smell the tteokbokki. We only ordered desserts as we had plans for dinner, but their food looked divine. We got the matcha and mango bingsu + the strawberry butterfly and shine muscat ade. The bingsus were amazing. The ice is milky and fluffy. The mango puree is fresh and sweet - mix it with the shaved ice and it becomes the perfect creamy texture. My mom really loved the matcha because it was strong and bitter, just how she likes it. The flavor blends so well with the shaved ice!! The ades were carbonated and extremely refreshing with the fruit juices. Lotsss of ice though. The shine muscat was sweet and the grape flavor was pungent. I really enjoyed it!! The employees are very very kind. We will make one trip back before we leave!!

It's so fun seeing a Korean street food spot in Banff! We tried the tteokkbokki and mango bingsu. The tteokkbokki was quite spicy but it was pretty good. We loved the mango bingsu though! The mangoes were so fresh and sweet and juicy - definitely try that!

Banff's downtown is basically a black hole for your wallet... but in the best way possible! Seriously, I couldn't resist all the cute stuff begging to come home with me. Fuelled up at Hankki Korean Street Food - that's the good stuff, tastes just like Korea! And pro tip for happy kiddos (and happier you): hit up their snow ice before the post-lunch wander. The mountain views and never-ending good vibes? Absolute perfection. This restaurant is fast food restaurant so you serve yourself. You pay, get your food and find your seats.

perfect dinner spot for after hiking!! the fried chicken bucket was great, they fill it up until the bucket is full and there were garlic and peanut pieces! the honey butter fries were so addicting! the mango bingsu is the perfect desert, mango pieces were so fresh overall i highly recommend this restaurant! great place in banff ave

    Spicy pork bulgogi bowl

This place was amazing and SO popular. I ordered the large spicy pork bulgogi bowl, and to start, the volume of food was great for the price. A whole lot of flavors going on in one bowl (for example, they just stack the fried dumplings in with the rest of the food). Very yummy and exactly what we wanted after a few hours on the road! Service was also very quick! Definitely go try it!

Quick service, fresh & hot food! We went for Korean corn dogs - which we have had before other places. These were really good! Coating was fairly thin (which is good to me) & dogs were a tasty sausage, so they were still big but not all breading! Lots of sauces available to try, I tend to like a sweet sauce on my dog, but sriracha mayo was nice

Why 4 stars? Because the savory stuff was good, but the dessert was the star of the show. --- --- --- It was our last night in Banff and we'd already had dinner, but I really wanted to try Hankki before we left, so I did something very on brand, and almost ordered a second dinner here. The wife and I shared a Mozzarella and Sausage dog + honey butter fries. The dog was great, but I wish the cheese surrounded the meat, rather than being stacked on top of each other. It makes it harder to get all of the contents in each bite this way, but I understand it would probably be a lot harder to make the version I'm suggesting. The fries were tasty, but we admittedly didn't eat a ton of them (remember, this was dinner #2). They tasted more like garlic fries than honey butter fries, but I did notice the honey butter if I concentrated really hard. But the real winner here was the Mango Bingsoo. Bury me in this thing. It was massive. It was also $17, but you really get your money's worth on this portion. I loved every bite of it and if this place was near my house, I'd go every day and try each flavor. We saw other ones through other customers and boy howdy did they all look like bowls of heaven.

Went here not expecting anything as it's in a very touristy spot of Banff Town. However, it exceeded our expectations! The service was quick. The servings were huge and very affordable. The food was tasty and we liked everything we ordered. Instead of ordering poutine, we ended up getting their fries with different powder flavors Would recommend going here if you happen to be in Banff and craving something Asian!

Service was fast and friendly on both savory and sweet(bingsoo) side! We got the veggie bowl with fried plant based chicken and a Korean bbq bowl. Regular was a decent size but I should have asked for extra chicken because it was delicious!! I wonder what brand of plant based meat they used because I like it a lot. Plenty of seating available and the place was very clean.

Great for a fast cheap meal in banff. Delicious bowls are very filling filled to the brim with food. New to banff town for 2023. Hankki is popular in calgary for quick bites. Its kinda like fast food style korean food. Which is nice because it's no frills and you don't need to waste any time eating before or after your hike in banff. I really loved my chicken and gyoza bowl. It was so flavourful. I tried some fries on another visit. And despite trying my hardest I just couldn't finish it. It was very tasty and the fries had a great crunch with a honey flavour. But it was just too much carbs for me. It is a carb heavy meal with no veggies. But it definwtly satisfies you after a day in the mountains. Get the vbowls!

The food was cheap, yummy, and had fast service. I loved how you could put sauce on yourself. Highly recommend!

    Veggie Mandu Bop
    Caroline L.

Delicious bibimbap bowls. I had the veggie mandu bop medium spice (which wasn't really very spicy) and hubs got the Hot Bop. Both were delicious. The real winner though is the Bingsoo (shaved milk ice with fruit or chocolate). They were SO YUMMY. I want another one right now just thinking about it. I got the mango and hubs got the Oreo and both were winners. You can get extra condensed milk if you want to but honestly they didn't need it. Highly, highly recommend.

The…read morerestaurant is kind of tucked away in a mall, but there are signs advertising it on the main street. It was a particularly cold and windy day so some Korean soup sounded amazing. We came around 3PM so it wasn't too busy. The place looks a little dated and seems like it used to be a different type of restaurant but that doesn't really matter to me. The food is good which is the most important part. Then banchan came first and there weren't as many dishes as I'm usually used to. My favorite banchan is definitely fishcakes and they were missed here. The kimchi was good though and so was everything else. I ordered the Sokkoritang or Oxtail Soup. The broth was super flavorful and milky while the oxtail was super tender. This was so comforting after being in the cold for a few hours. I could sip on the broth all day. It wasn't overly salty, in fact it was under salted but they provide salt for you to salt the dish to your liking. My girlfriend got the Galbitang or Short Rib Soup and she seemed to really enjoy it. The short ribs were cooked well and came off the bones easily. The broth was nice and beefy. Service was good. I can definitely recommend Seoul Country.

Other than that its a pretty good pancake. 7.3/10   Assorted Banchan - Kimchi was pretty good, the spinach was ok, the bean spouts are tasty and the reddish was superb. 8/10   Bibimbap - Pretty Good,, a bit more flavor is needed but the Gochujang does take it home. 7.5/1]   Bulgogi - its a bit on the mid side. Some flavor needed, but over all not bad. 7/10   Galbi -  Actually nicely seasoned and marinated. It stands by itself. I adore a good galbi. 8.8/10 The setting is pretty nice. The place was pretty busy when we arrived for dinner. Things we tried: - Agedashi Tofu: fried tofu with a warm dashi. It was light and the dashi had nice flavor. (3.5/5 stars) - Karaage Chicken: the chicken was tender and well-seasoned. (3.5/5 stars) - Edamame: the edamame arrived at the end of our meal which was odd. It was also not cooked well and tasted like it could have been frozen and then warmed up. Disappointing. (1/5 stars) - Shoku Roll: the roll was pretty good with the salmon on top and negitoro inside. I wish they used less of the sauce and mayo on top or put it on the side instead, because it was a lot and was overpowering the fish. (4/5 stars) - Salmon Oyako Bowl: I liked the raw salmon and salmon roe part, however the cooked salmon was overcooked. The bowl also lacked flavor and required soy sauce, though I wish there was a different sauce to add to it. (4/5 stars) Overall for the food, it's okay. I'm from California so we have better food so I'm trying not to be too critical knowing it's in Banff. It's nice to have an izakaya spot in downtown Banff though. Service: mixed. The waiter was nice, however they seemed under-staffed. He had too many tables so service was slow and we struggled with flagging him down when we needed a refill or the check.

The inside is very small and everyone sits around the conveyor belt. It is first come first serve so plan ahead if you wanna beat the lunch/dinner rushes. We went around 1:30 and it took us maybe ~40 minutes to get seated for a party of six (we didn't want to be separated). There is a sushi chef in the middle who makes the sushi right in front of you which is pretty entertaining. As for ordering, you can either ask the chef or your server. They are always putting different things on the conveyor belt so there is always an assortment of sushi to try. We weren't a fan of the sashimi but we did order a lot of the rolls. Their spicy ahi is different from what we're used to - it's just plain ahi with a drop of sriracha on top. Our favorite roll was probably the deep fried shrimp roll and California roll. You can't go wrong with that. We ordered the seaweed salad and potato croquette a couple of times. Price wise it's pretty expensive for the amount and quality that you get. All the food on the menu ranges from about $4.95-$7.95. IMO you're paying for the experience - sushi chef in front of you, conveyor belt, plates on a sushi train. There is one server for the restaurant because the seating area is so small, but the staff in general is pleasant. It's OK but hits the spot if you want a little sushi fix.
