Since 2016, I have used Hance Uptown Collision for body repairs (dings, scratches, rim refurbishments, and more in-depth body work from accidents on my Porsche 911, and Tesla. I have always been highly satisfied with their professionalism, communication and follow-up, and most importantly their work. Hance Uptown Collision are masters at their craft, simply put. When they were located on upper McKinney Avenue, they were five (6) blocks from my home. After they moved to Plano (just up I-75/Central Expwy.) I thought I would never use them again, and find an alternate body shop in the Knox/Greenland Hills area. Nope! I could not and would not take the chance of turning my vehicle over to strangers at a new body shop. So, I happy drive to Plano to have work done at the new Hance Uptown Collision shop that is expanded with a significantly larger footprint. I'll start with - I am not a car person, so my descriptions will be dumb. Something was hanging from the bottom of my moms mid-size SUV. Looked to me like it could just be taken off, so we decided to go to a shop instead of the dealer. Hance's was recommended to us by Dunlap Swain around the corner. My mom has been going to DS since before I was born, so we trust them. Once there, John (I'm pretty sure that's his name) was very quick to help and so kind to my mom. He took the thing off the car and said nothing else looked wrong. Big relief for us. It made the start of my Friday morning much easier than anticipated and my mom was VERY happy! I'm up in Plano, so I'll probably check out the Plano location if/when I need assistance. If they're anything like this location, I know I'll be in excellent hands! I got rear ended pretty hard while I was stopped at a right light, which did some major damage. I called this place immediately and dropped my car off the next day. ( This was May 26th mind you) While my insurance company made this a living nightmare for me, this Company really took care of me and were upfront and honest the entire time. I hate body shops, I always feel taken advantaged of, but not with them. Tamara there is AMAZING. You're lucky if you get her working on your case, because she really cares and will do anything to get you and your car taken care of. These guys are the best. Honest. Fair prices. John really knows the cheapest route to take that still maintains quality. They've fixed the paint and did bodywork on a couple vintage Porsches for me. They have another shop in Plano, go see Mark, he's the expert there. I went in to get some paint damage looked at and Mark said I can fix that. He came back w some tools and my car looks great now, didn't even charge me! In this day and age when you can't always trust these guys are a true find. Hance's was beyond amazing helping me navigate my bodywork needed after someone hit my car. They were able to discuss the details of the damage with my insurance, and speed up the repairs that needed to be completed so I didn't have to wait too long for the work to be done. I worked closely with Stan and Amy who kept me extremely informed on the repairs needed, the overall cost, and the estimated time of completion on its work. The best part was picking up my car, and seeing that they not only got it cleaned after the work is done, but they had it detailed! I was so delighted that I have not stopped telling my friends and family about their speedy process and how amazing my repairs look. Had a broken rear door handle on an old Subaru. They matched the paint well, but the door has never been the same and obviously rattles when closed now. Brought it in and watched their tech go into the door for about 10 minutes, unable to find anything. Rather than getting more invasive (there's some sort of plastic adhesive covering in the door that has to be manipulated) I just live with it. If this was an expensive car I don't think I'd be too happy. read more

Hance was able to fix it like new plus had their paintless person pull out an earlier dent that was never big enough to get fixed but always bugged me. Lauren and the front office staff were super patient explaining the process to me and I appreciate their professionalism. They really do care about their customers. Service and quality was off the charts, start to finish. They were very quick to get back to my online inquiry and refreshingly informative. I brought my Audi in for an estimate for what I thought was going to be a small panel replacement (what I'd been told by another shop...and honestly what I believed). The woman at reception greeted me pleasantly and took my information. Headed outside to look at the damage. These guys took one look at it with me and were honest and direct - no need to totally replace it, it just wasn't properly attached. Not only did they identify the problem correctly, they fixed it. Properly. Right there. Then....No charge for such a simple straight forward fix! Covid protocols - everyone was masked, distanced and very professional. A+ here as well. 5 stars, 5 stars! I stopped by to get an estimate on a big scratch on my car, and boy, I'm so glad I did! Just had to write up a review for Hance :D After a short wait inside, a nice man walked out to my car with me for the estimate. He rubbed the scratch a bit and told me to wait for just a moment. Less than a minute later, he came out with a cloth rag and some magic potion and rubbed out most of the paint scratch! He recommended me to get some manufacturing touch-up paint from the dealer and cover up the few minor scratches left, instead of opting for painting the bumper (which he estimated to be $450). He encouraged me to visit again if I ever had another job for them, and a handshake later, I was on my way. I'm sold! I went to another location before visiting Hance's, and the worker there took a cursory look at the scratch and gave an estimate. I love how the man working at Hance took the time to kneel down, work on my car, and answer my questions (for free, all for the love of cars!)-- super friendly and genuinely honest. This was my first time needing my car repaired after getting into an accident. The accident was someone else's fault and I was working with her insurance company which is known to be difficult to work with. I've been doing business with Hance Auto Paint & Body since 1981. Fortunately, I haven't required their services too often. However, they never cease to amaze me with the extremely high quality of work they perform and, the extremely reasonable prices they charge. I recently brought my 2011 Lincoln MKZ in after a particularly nasty collision where I was badly hit on the left rear side. Rob warned me, due to where I was hit it was going to be a difficult job. But they did a masterful job of repairs and painting. My car looks brand new again. And, they actually charged me less than the original estimate! We accidentally ran over a green spray paint can (yes, the neon green type) and it exploded all over the back of our black 4Runner. I quickly called Hance's and they said to bring it in. Michelle and Mike quickly sprung into action and lent a hand (and some supplies) to help remove the paint before the sun baked it on there. They were so generous with their time and expertise. I'm going to post 3 reviews for Hance's - Before, During and After work completion on my car. So, here's the Before review: I'm disappointed that I'm limited to 5 stars. I give Hance's a 10 star rating on how I have been treated as a customer. I have learnt much from Stan and Amy on how to treat people. I have been treated with utmost respect and with an attitude of serving my needs. I came here as a referral from someone that hit my car in a parking lot when I wasn't present. The person had the honesty, decency and courtesy of leaving a note apologizing for his mistake and leaving me his card. When I met the person, he not only gave me his insurance details but recommended Hance Body Shop as someone to consider. I have a Red BMW 3 series that got drivers side front bumper and head light damage. Reluctantly, I went in to Hance's and what a refreshing experience. I was in and out of there in less than 10 minutes with a detailed estimate emailed to me for submission to insurance. Hance's estimate was very close to insurance adjusters estimate. Hance's have assured me that they will work closely with the adjuster and I need not worry about a thing. I've made the appointment and will drop the car off to Hance so work can begin to repair damage. During the entire repair process - Hance's proactively kept me posted on progress. Then, when work was complete, I picked up my car. And lo and behold it was brand spanking new. Just like it did the first day I drove it out of the dealership. Bravo, Rob, Stan and Lauren. read more

They fixed some major paint scratches on my front end in a little over 24 hours and the bumper looks brand new... and threw in touching up the edges of my black rims for free. They don't even deserve 1 star. This was a horrible experience, and I want to save you the trouble and your money. They did a horrible job and communicated very poorly about the quality of work they would do for exorbitant prices. Then, before they will give you your keys, they make you sign a document attesting to their great "quality" of work and a warranty saying that it is at their discretion if there is an issue with their repair. I'd be SHOCKED if they agreed to an error on their behalf. This place is a sorry excuse of a paint and body shop. You're better off paying your insurance deductible and having quality work done on your car. read more

Disappointing!!! I used their web form to schedule and appointment. Michele emailed me to come in at 12:00 PM and Rob told me that it would probably be a respray at $600 but he would take a look when I came in. I parked out front and told the receptionist that I had a 12:00 PM appointment for an estimate. She told me that they don't take appointments only drop ins for estimates and their estimator just left. I asked her if she was Michelle and she said yes. I then showed her her email that said to come in at 12:00 PM. She gave me an unconcerned apology and told me that he owner is somewhere looking to buy a building. I don't care - I took off work to come to an appointment. Don't tell me that you don't take appointments as your website specifically uses the phrase, "schedule an appointment," and don't waste my time and money by not being available when I arrive. I provided you with two ways to contact me. I received no email or phone number cancelling my appointment. If this is the type of service I get for an estimate, I avoided the mess of actually getting my car fixed! read more

John at Hance diligently retrieved my debit card that was accidentally dropped in the window opening of my car. He had to remove the inside door panel to get to it struggling about 20 minutes and was able to reach down to retrieve my card. And did NOT charge a dime. My experience was similar to Michael D's (on 11/21/16). I should have read Michael D's review more carefully. I went to the website of Hance's Uptown Collision Center (hanceauto.com). I clicked on "schedule an appointment" and fillled in the form: name, rank, serial number, vehicle year, make, model, how I found Hance's Uptown Collision Center. I selected "schedule an estimate" on the Hance website. I then selected a preferred day/time (the website says that estimates are 7:30am-1pm Mon-Fri). I described in writing the damage. I uploaded photos of the damage. In an hour or two, I received a pleasant email from Lauren Ballew who described herself as "CSR/Hance Paint and Body". The email indicated that Hance's Uptown Collision Center does not currently accept appointments for estimates. The email added that "We provide estimates Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 1:00 pm". I arrived at Hance's Uptown Collision Center at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 20, 2017. when I asked for an estimate, I was told that "the estimator has just left" (cf Michael D's experience on 11/21/16). Lauren Ballew (CSR/Hance Paint and Body) made no mention of the departure of "the estimator" in her email of 10:30 am. Apparently, she was not aware that "the estimator" would need to leave when she sent her email to me. I am unsure how to proceed with Hance's Uptown Collision Center (Hance Paint and Body Service). Should I schedule another time for an estimate? Should I drop by for an estimate sometime Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 1:00 pm? Should I send pictures of the repair shot from three different angles along with my VIN directly to rob@hanceauto.com and allow up to 48 hours for an email quote (as suggested in Lauren's email)? read more

5 stars This past hail storm (2017) in Plano really hit my Land Cruiser hard, damagingly all sides plus much more. Searching for a reliable place, Hance's Uptown Collision Center had some availability to fix my vehicle asap. I met with Rob, he mentioned and explained the severity of hail damage and repair. After several weeks of major reconstruction, my Land Cruiser was done and looked great. I'm impressed with Rob's immediate response was to take care of my vehicle and make sure that it was done in a timely manner that was best for me. How would you rate a repair shop which has not finished fixing your car after 1 month and 5 days and still counting? One star is too high a rating! But that is Hance and I have given up following up. Jesus has resurrected but my car is still lays lifeless in their shop. I applaud the nice experiences of the other customers but mine is a total nightmare. Since March 1, 2021, Hance issued 4 Supplements to the insurance company which largely contributed to the delay. It's absurd how a simple fender-bender could entail such scrutiny and lengthy analysis. Please avoid this shop if you want a quick turnaround. I've complained to the Better Business Bureau and I have some details there which may interest the public. I'll update this posting if and when I finally receive my car. read more

Unfortunately I've had repairs done 4 times, but fortunately all 4 experiences with Hance were awesome. I was surprised no one had written a review since they have what I would refer to as a religious following. The guy at the Progressive Claims Center asked me where I wanted to have the repairs done and when I said Hance he immediately chuckled and said he could have guessed. He mentioned that he had been working in the business for 10+ years and had seen more people request their car be repaired by Hance than any other shop over the years. Since the other brave reviewer here was marginalized over his lack positive reviews, let me chip in. I saw criticism over his 1-star review, but it clearly indicates that a person would not come back ("Eek! Methinks not."). Also, I noticed most of these reviews are from yelp accounts that wrote less reviews than fingers in one's hand. Perhaps these same individuals were given those aforementioned good deals or free service in exchange for an equally friendly review here. In any case, my experience was lame. If reading further is too much, just refer to the photo. It says enough. That woman servicing the main desk (Michelle) is quite a piece of work. She was extremely rude with eye rolls and sarcastic inflections over the phone. This is a business, inherited or not, like all others and it needs to be treated as such. She even refused to acknowledge or apologize over a particular matter that greatly inconvenienced me. That experience was the direct antithesis of the inflated pledges of keeping the customer informed and happy. The job itself can be done at so many places, it's not rocket science. Pick another place if you don't want moodiness, entitlement or absenteeism. I should have used one of the companies offered by my insurance but opted for this place due to perceived convenience. Where to even start when you are so thrilled with the service you've received. Amy, thank you... we had planned on hitting multiple places for estimates and my anxiety went away the moment you started speaking with me. Drew then came into the lobby and you guys asked if I took the check and I said "no.' Drew shared his wisdom on dealing with insurance companies and you Amy, took a tour.of the damage of our CX--5. You saw things I did not see, nor did progressive even catch. All the way down to the damage of the tires I never noticed. We went from an approximate estimate check from progressive of $3800 to almost, if not more than $10k in damage. Drew, thank you for telling me where to spend the money and where I could save, (even got money back into my pocket.) I highly recommend Hance for honest pricing and excellent work. I recently took my truck in for repairs from last year's hail storm (yes... I know long do you need to wait?). Rob gave me good advice on what to repair and what to ignore to save me $$$ upfront. After the truck was repaired (expertly), it turned out that his dent repair guy charged less than originally estimated and he passed the savings on to me. Can you ask for more?
