Second hair. I would love my $30 back.
Celena S.

I hate to have to post photos and rate any business low publicly, but I feel people should know what they are getting with this restaurant. Placed an order over the phone for lunch because the online ordering wouldn't allow this before 1:37pm for some reason. Received the order for pick up and tried my egg roll sitting in the car. There was a hair sticking out of the roll after 2 bites. I let them know and the lady was very apologetic. She offered another roll. Of course the next roll could also have a hair in it! I accepted a miso soup as substitute. Ate some of the take out the next day and I'm pretty sure I see an eyelash on my plate. I wasn't expecting some gourmet food here, as we all know what to usually expect with cheap Chinese. But they clearly don't wear hair nets here and this is unacceptable at this point. Just avoid and drive a few mins down the road for something else.

I stopped in for pickup but ordered through an app. The service at Hanako is fantastic. They offered me something to drink while I waited and had me take a seat. Joe is so friendly and chatted with for a minute. I had to wait because I decided to add to my order, but my food was ready when I got there. They have a large menu. It's Asian fusion since they have Chinese, and Japanese dishes. Lots of vegetarian options. I had the Age tofu which is one of my favorite dishes. It was soooo good. I was concerned about traveling home with it, but it was in great shape when I got home. The packed the sauce separately. I also had the vegetable and tofu stir fry with just broccoli. It was fresh and delicious. They do take out, eat in and they also deliver for a minimum of $18. They are located right near Lowers on Charlotte Hwy in the same shopping center with Showmars and Bojangles. I am so happy that they are so close to my house. I will definitely be back.

Foreground: Hanako Delicious Background: Chicken Teriyaki
Joan R.

Have eaten there a few times and found inconsistency with food and service. Went in at lunchtime last week, asked for a menu and whoever was there seemed to be bothered by my request. Recently went there for dinner and now would not go back. Entire Menu has price increase stickers over old prices , some areas blacked out. Saw a dust bin propped behind a booth, not appetizing. My tea cup was chipped. So no attention to detail which can make a big difference in overall dining experience Food was mediocre. My Hanako Delicious : not delicious! broccoli with shrimp, lobster, crab, in a brown sauce. Shrimp was very chewy, broccoli tasted bitter, 3 shrimp, one scallop, imitation crab to my taste, brown sauce was thin and not at all tasty in my opinion, wasn't sure any lobster was even present.. My dining mate said the chicken teriyaki was ok nothing special though. The waitress was very friendly and attentive and food was plated nicely and brought out hot. Overall a dimly lit restaurant, inconsistent food and service .

This was a neat little find. I do like "hole-in-the-wall" sushi places and this one hit the spot. My friend suggested it (I really need to get him on Yelp!) and so we stopped in here for a late lunch. We both ordered the sashimi special, which comes with the usual salad topped with ginger dressing (does it have to be so cold??) and a bowl of spicy egg drop soup (mushrooms??). But the main course was where it was at. As with so many sushi restaurants, a great presentation. Each piece of fish was individually set in a wooden boat, garnished with crab salad and a carved lemon. You have to look at the picture to see how well this chef did. Price is a little high, but it's totally worth it.

Been going here for years! The food is always super yummy and fresh. The chicken is usually always white meat too which is a score!

I'll start by saying that while we've routinely had delivery from Spice, until this recent visit we had never actually eaten there. Our goal was to enjoy a late afternoon on the rooftop bar. Unfortunately, it was busier than we anticipated and the only open tables were unshaded. No problem, we went back downstairs and helped ourselves to seats at the bar. Our drinks were well-made and thirst-quenching - it was honestly hard to pick the best among the Japanese Old-Fashioned, Asian Pear Martini and Lychee Martini (confession, I'm not a lychee fan but if I was I'd have two of these). By now we've had most of the items on the menu and have never received a bad meal. My favorite Small Plate is the Spicy Tuna Rice Crisps. Fresh tuna served on Japanese style crisped rice cakes with a hint of spicy mayo. I could eat these every week - and yet, we didn't order them this visit. Instead, we had the Roti Canai, edamame, vegan fresh spring rolls and seared scallops. All were devoured, so good! Among the other menu items, my recommendations are the Green Curry and the Short Rib. The rib in particular is fall-off-the-bone tender and served with a flavorful au jus sauce. I was very impressed by the service (especially compared to that of several other restaurants in the area). Our bartender was busy, yet still cheerful and attentive (and she made great drinks), Definitely in my overall Top Five among restaurants in the Fort Mill / Rock Hill area. Highly recommended!

However, this place was honestly quite good, along with excellent service and wonderful decor. Two of us started with some Edamame and Tom Kha Soup, which were both just alright. Where the meal started to shine was they brought the perfectly Seared Scallops w/ Vermicelli. I have been to Michelin starred restaurants that didn't have such a beautiful sear on their scallops. What a tasty treat! As for the entrees, the Braised Beef Short Rib was another spectacular dish. Falling off the bone tender and a rich savory sauce. However, the Bibimbap was nowhere near the quality we have in NYC. I honestly didn't expect to like this restaurant, but I really did enjoy the meal way more than anticipated. I will gladly return for those Seared Scallops and Braised Beef Short Rib again.

We celebrated our latest anniversary with a date night here...and what a great choice!…read more Luckily, they accommodated my request for a seat by the rail outside on their rooftop patio...and we had an amazing view of Charlotte!! In a way, I was surprised how the view was so good. I really didn't think you could see much of Charlotte from this South Charlotte location, and I was dead wrong! BTW, inside of the restaurant was quite nice too. Not only was the view amazing, they provided an entertaining DJ music scene as the night went on. A bit loud and over-the-top, but it was definitely festive. The place was also an ideal place for that perfect Instagram shot...with plenty of photo-op set-ups and flattering lighting, and of course, the view of the city! Of course I loved their menu as Japanese foods are always a favorite for me. We ordered several apps to share, like the Waygu Bao Buns, Truffle Macaroni and Spicy Edamame...then 2 sushi rolls, Kizuna for my husband and Tokimeki for myself...then we ended with their fancy Creme Brulee. We enjoyed everything...but I especially loved their Bao Buns and the Truffle Macaroni. While the sushi rolls were good, I felt that it could have been a bit more flavorful. The service was also on point. Our server, Beurkens, did a fantastic job...as we never had to wait for anything too long. He was also super-polished and friendly at the same time. Truly, this place was so much better than I would have anticipated. The restaurant was so fabulous and fun...with the vibe, service and foods to match. Looking forward to returning soon!

Overall, this place hypes itself up like their designer (check the guest guidelines on their website), but it's really just a Temu knockoff with a nice view. Visiting from out of town, my husband and I came in around 9pm on a Friday evening for some late night bites and cocktails for our date night. I have an unwavering affliction for cute rooftop spots and the menu looked phenomenal, so it seemed like the perfect spot for an elevated night out. We were warmly greeted upon entering by the hostess who recommended the rooftop patio, which was being handled by their amazing server Sebastian, so we took her up on the rec. We found a cozy spot with a great view and waited... After waiting for some time, Brook finally came by our table, took a card to preauthorize, and asked if we wanted menus. My husband and I both ordered the samurai smoked old fashioned. Brook did give us a heads up that it contained sake and would be a variation of a traditional old fashioned, which we appreciated. It was ok.. a light version of the original, but probably not something we would order again. As we were waiting for our food, Sebastian stopped by, said he was splitting the area with Brook, and told us that if we needed anything at all, to not hesitate to ask. For food, we ordered a Renge roll, seared scallops (2 pc), Wagyu carpaccio (3pc) and 6 chilled oysters. Everything was good, but nothing really stood out and sounded much better on paper than it actually tasted. Again, it was good, but considering the price and the way the restaurant hypes itself up, I was expecting to be blown away. Unfortunately, it was very underwhelming. The oysters were probably the best, but their flavor was inconsistent, almost like someone just threw on the accompaniments without making sure they were even placed. The carpaccio was cut way thicker than what you would expect, and just made the dish seem heavy and like the flavors were competing with each other. The scallops were cooked well, but lacked any significant flavor. Towards the end of the meal, we ordered another round of drinks, an espresso martini and traditional old fashioned. By the time we finished, Brook came and asked if we were interested in dessert. I was on the fence, so she said she would just bring the dessert menu anyways, and I also asked for the cocktail menu again. We planned on ordering one final round of drinks, but Brook never came back after she dropped off the menus. By this time, it was around 10:30. The place was far from crowded.. there were numerous staff members hanging out on the patio and gathered at the end of the bar chatting, so it's not like she was as busy attending other tables. After about 20 minutes, we just decided to try and get our check. Since Brook never ever came back, we flagged down Sebastian and asked for it. Unfortunately, he proceeded to have about a 15 min convo with the two ladies at the table behind us before we decided to go inside and see if we could track down our check. There wasn't anyone at the host stand and the restaurant inside was a ghost town, except for the bar, so we asked the bartender for it. As we were waiting, we saw Brook at the other end of the bar chatting with another employee. Once she saw us, she went back out to the table and proceeded to start clearing it off, like it was no big deal that she ignored us for the last 45 min and never brought our check. I mean, they preauthorize the card in beginning and then charge 20% gratuity, so what's the point? At the end of the day, we spent just under $250 for two people to have 4 drinks and 4 apps, which is pricey, but not something I would complain about if the service wasn't laughable.

My friends met here on a Friday evening hoping to enjoy a meal and catch up after some time apart. Instead of feeling welcomed, they felt rushed almost from the moment they arrived. The server kept pressuring them to place their order and repeatedly interrupted their conversation, leaving them with little privacy or opportunity to relax. There is a big difference between providing attentive service and making customers feel like they need to hurry up and leave. A restaurant is not just about serving food; it is also about creating an atmosphere where people can enjoy spending time together. It was a Friday evening, and all they wanted was to enjoy a meal and have a conversation--not feel monitored and pushed along throughout their visit. If the goal is to turn tables quickly rather than make guests feel welcome, this restaurant certainly gave that impression. Good food alone cannot make up for poor hospitality. Customers deserve to feel welcome, respected, and comfortable--not like they are taking up space simply by sitting down to enjoy their evening.
