Underwhelming to say the least. I have eaten here 3 times now. 1st when it opened and it was good...worth another visit. Then the 2nd and 3rd have drastically went down hill. Their depth in flavor when it comes to a brothe is terrible. The vegetable ramen was as though they boiled water and put vegetables in it with no seasoning, no salt, nothing...I don't know if they don't taste their food when executing but I have to say this might be the case. For their other brothes...it's all the same, lacking flavor, depth, seasoning, umami. Just season your food please! Just make the drive to H-market and leave this place to those that enjoy under seasoned food, and packaged noodles. Enjoy! read more

I'm not a ramen eater but come here with my husband and friends all the time. This place is our "go-to" for a lunch date. A multitude of options on their menu including some dishes for the not-so-adventurous. Service is always friendly and they might always be busy but they're always quick. We really appreciate the smooth and fast service! Every dish we've ordered has been impressive but we'd recommend trying their Shrimp Shumai (sp?). read more

We started with age dashi tofu. Fluffy yet creamy with a wonderful sauce. We both got ramen bowls and they were truly incredible. The pork belly in mine was fall apart tender and the broth on her veggie ramen was... heavenly. As great as my baisen miso ramen was, I actually wished I'd gotten the veggie ramen, that broth was so great! And, of course, a cold, from the tap, Japanese style beer to go with it made for the most amazing meal. Decor was a great take on an actual izakaya. The only blemish was our server wasn't super attentive the first half of the meal, but another stopped in and checked on us, so, good crew, and I guess not much of a blemish! We had an assortment of ramens (tokyo and baisen) as well as the gyu don and some apps. It was really good. Not "best I've ever had" good, but much better than we typically get in Denton. The waitress was nice, though she disappeared at the end and they could have flipped our table 15m faster if she'd come back for the credit card earlier. Drinks were 2.50 for a can of soda with ice. I've been to this location as well as the Carrollton location many many times and it is one of my top three favorite Ramen places. They have great service, delicious food, a good selection of drinks to choose from, and even a couple yummy dessert options. The atmosphere is great and the food has never failed me. My favorite things to get are their gyoza and the Baisen Miso Ramen as well as the Shoyu (spell check?) Ramen. Amazing quality. read more

I think Hanabi may finally be the saving grace for this cursed corner on Carroll & Hickory! It seems as though a new establishment has been popping up in this space year after year - Probably because of the lack of parking, difficult access due to the one way street, and the past tenants adding nothing spectacularly unique to the Denton foodscape. Hanabi will still have to overcome the former two obstacles, but confidently tackles the latter with a great environment & good ramen. Side dishes (spicy chicken, edamame, fried rice) were all decent, but a tad luke warm and slightly tough - Would order again, but nothing game changing. Considerable wait times to get a table, though that may taper off in the coming weeks as the opening buzz wears off. It is great to have a local place that serves okonomiyaki and takoyaki and other Japanese street food. All the appetizers and sides I've tried have been great. I wish the Ramen was a little better. The ingredients and combinations are nice but the ratio of soup to noodles is far too great on the soup side. Ramen should be wet and a little soupy, but it ought not be lost in a gigantic sea of liquid. read more

Absolutely phenomenal Ramen. I adore this place so much. The only complaint I really have is that it's always insanely busy but they have nowhere for you to wait and the hours are bizarre. If you don't know what time they're closed it can definitely mess up your plans because they close in the afternoon Make sure you double check that it's open when you go and be prepared to maybe wait a little bit but it's worth it read more

Knowing this is a new welcoming business here in the wonderful town of Denton I had to check it out. Ramen is one of my favorite's and I came here with high expectations and they were met. I absolutely loved what I got and the cute little place itself. This location hasn't had the best success but with this choice of business I think it has a chance since this place gave delicious food, great vibes and service. I had an incredible time with friends at Hanabi on the first day of the soft open. Ordered three different types of Ramen- the Tokyo Tonkotsu, the spicy version of the Tonkotsu, and a Miso ramen. Also ordered Gyoza for the table. Everything was awesome, definitely worth the price. Everyone we interacted with that worked at Hanabi gave us exceptional customer service. Disappointing. Have been trying to try this place for several weeks and finally found a parking spot. The ramen was disappointing. Ingredients were processed and tasteless. The side of rice was priced well at $3 and the reason I mention it is because it was by far the most flavorful and least processed part of our experience. Service was great, however, I'm rating this four stars simply because the pork belly on the ramen was cold, dry, and tasted quite old. The egg on the ramen was overcooked and cold as well, but not bad. The ramen had good flavor otherwise, and the gyoza and fried rice were delicious! I went to this place on June 28th 2019 with a group and I loved the food. The workers were nice as well, and I like how they give you the sodas in cans with cups of ice instead of just giving you cups and using one of those dispensers. I work on the other side of the square and loved to know RAMEN was coming to town. I love ramen that is authentic and flavorful. You can really enjoy a good hearty bowl especially on a cold rainy day like I chose to first try It. The ramen was really good. A typical birdnest of good noodles, hearty broth, soft eggs, pork belly slices. I enjoyed it with an unsweet tea. I enjoyed the busy atmosphere. People were standing waiting for an empty table. I sat at the bar with other lone diners. I believe my biggest disappointment was the price. My meal was $16 even with food, drink and 20% tip. Nothing special, from the reviews I thought this place would be fantastic. It fell very short of my expectations and this location is probably the worst. Parking is terrible they have barely any parking around the building. The seating is small and there's usually gonna be a 15-30 minute wait unless you get there on a really slow day. And to add insult to injury they have patio seating but don't serve the patio. It's clear they don't care about their customers. And frankly the ramen isn't anything special either it's way overpriced and nothing authentic about it. I've had 5 other ramen places that were just as good for a better price if not better.
