Excellent service once they moved is away from the restrooms/kitchen area Lots of parking near the restaurant and by Dave and Buster The ambiance was very casual but nice family friendly. The star of the show was the food, so much delicious food. I can't wait return.

Hana sushi was good as always. I came here to catch up with a friend and the food was good, service was great, and the ambiance was a lot for a Friday night but that's to be expected. I had edamame, shrimp shumai, and the volcano roll. I ate first before my phone did so that's why I only got one photo.

It's always great food when going to Hana! This time around though the only thing I don't like are the floors!! You can slip, fall, and possibly break or hurt something! Service: We were told 25 minute wait and it was just about accurate maybe less so that was nice. I wish they had more seating for ppl waiting to be seated lol or make it so we can stand at the bar and get a drink. Food: My friend and I got the Golden crab Rangoon to start. Delicious! We shared the following rolls: 1) Spicy Scallops Roll: Delicious! 2) Two thumbs up: also delicious but a little more on the sweet side and just wasn't what my palate wanted that night 3) Lonely angel: the favorite of the night! Ambience: They really need to do something about the floors. It slippery everywhere even in the bathroom! They have a sign but the floors aren't wet it's some time of wax or something. Also, it's kinda gross to sit down and the table top be wet from them cleaning it off. I wish they also dried the table off before seating us

On our way back home, we stopped in Gainesville and wanted sushi. Via Yelp, I found this place. Although prices were a bit higher than expected, everything we ordered was really good. We ordered the Salmon Lover, which included soup and salad, Passion Roll (super tasty - although the spicy tuna was not really that spicy), chicken tempura roll, and the usual Salmon/Avocado and Tuna Roll. Overall, fish was fresh and portions were just right. The server was very attentive and informative when questions were asked about some roll options.

We just had a delightful experience at Hana. Johnny, our server, was super friendly. We started with sea bream, salmon, and blue fin tuna sashimi. By far the freshest and highest quality we have had in Florida. We had the spicy girl roll and Hana Naruto. It is worth the 45 min drive and we will be back for sure. I wish they had seating at the sushi bar, but that really is the only complaint I have.

Hana is a Gainesville staple. Most nights there is a long wait, and they don't take reservations, but the wait is worth it. The food comes out super quickly as well. We had the chef's selection and the two of us were hardly able to finish it. It was a great variety of fish and it all tasted super fresh. Sushi was well made and presentation was terrific, too. I've never had a bad roll here, and their drinks are delicious as well. I recommend the lychee martini! Will have to return soon on a weekday to see if it's easier to get in!

I heard Hana was good and and yelp reviews agreed so we came here for dinner the other night and it did not disappoint. Located across the street from Celebration Pointe on the same side as Dave & Buster. Easy parking, but they don't take reservations on football weekends so be prepared to wait a little bit. We arrived Friday night at seven and only had a 20 minute wait. The restaurant is big inside so they can accommodate a lot of people. Sushi was fresh. Started with spicy Tuna Rolls and Salmon Rolls. Both we're excellent. Spicy Girl Roll - Spicy Tuna, Salmon, and Yellowtail with avocado rolled in pink soy bean paper. Unique and a nice twist. Hana Naruto Roll - also had Spicy Tuna, Salmon, and Yellowtail a bit of Kani, avocado and caviar rolled in cucumber. This no rice dish was excellent especially if you're looking for something without all the rice. Food and service were good. I will definitely go back when I'm in town.

We decided to sit outside as pup was along for the ride from Sarasota to just north of Gainesville, about two and a half hours of driving. Once we settled into our hotel I fired up YELP to see what's around and was mildly surprised by all the options. I'm guessing it's due to it being a college town University of Florida - Go Gators. The outside dining area was quite messy and I do believe that it was from the night before, having not been totally cleaned up - turn off? yes, but getting back into the car was far more unappetizing than anything else I could envision. The sashimi appetizer was smallish as most sushi appetizers tend to be, the color and texture seemed fine but there was something a bit off in the taste, bland is the description I'll go with but there was just something I can't quite put my finger on going on. Two rolls each, names are evading me and somewhat unimportant as I reflect back now, and if the food was better, I'd go through the slight trouble to look up the answers on their website - but the experiment is not drawing any further creativity nor independent research out of me - and that flies in the face of all the positive reviews I read prior to us going for our early dinner. College kids -- humph - what do they know?

This is the 2nd time I've been to Hana. Def my fav sushi spot in Gainesville! Everything was absolutely delicious! Started with the miso soup and a seaweed salad (not pictured). My son and I split the 6 sushi rolls. My mom got the teriyaki chicken, which was crispy and awesome. It wasn't too sweet like many places are. I don't know the roll my stepfather got, but he ate all of it. Last, was the toro and man was it special!!! Server was great! Very attentive, well spoken and knowledgeable. Can't recommend this place enough!

Hana is my favorite place to go for sushi. The ambiance is pretty loud but fun for the whole family or for a date night. They have already outgrown this locations because the town has discovered how good the food is. A thought that might help - I would love the see them utilize the outdoor seating. Sometimes we do date night at the bar and it's quick. The takeout is easy. Since the location is typically full the takeout is in an inconvenient spot but it's done fairly quickly and the food is almost always ready. I have only had one problem when I ordered eggplant and got edamame instead. I was disappointed and never got to try the eggplant..next time. Their sushi is my favorite for many reasons one main one is the sushi to rice ratio. The thin layer of rice is absolutely what I look for when I get sushi. I hate going somewhere and you pay $15 for rice and the tiniest piece of fish...not at Hana. I also taste the difference of their fish quality here. The combination of the fresh fish, sauces, flavors, low rice ratio among fresh veggies makes these rolls perfect. Some of My favorites are the lonely angel, passion, bonsai, Sakura, Hawaiian rolls. Honestly you can't go wrong with any here. Even the non specialty rolls are very good like the magic roll and sweet potato roll. There are many appetizer I like to get at Hana - many are sushi related. I love the yellowtail jalapeño and Kani salad(tip:sub for the spicy mayo instead). The miso soup and spicy edamame are also very good! My favorite dishes here are pad Thai! As I said above this is my new favorite place to get it. I get extra spicy and it's not too extreme but I like spicy. It gives a good kick to go with the sweetness. You can't go wrong with the hibachi here. They do not do it in front of you but it comes out quick and it's never plain. I also like the red curry. They have a full bar with beer and wine. I typically get a lychee martini, mule, unfiltered Saki or passion fruit mojito. Sometimes the drinks are weak and sometimes they are strong. Something they could work on is a little consistency with the alcohol. I like a tall drink with my sushi. ;) They also serve cold or warm saki. The servers have been wonderful. I have gotten Alex a handful of times and he's awesome. He's recommended new dishes for us and that's been helpful. So have all of the others. There really is something for everyone here and I love that. Sometime I'm with people who don't care for sushi and I feel comfortable taking them here because I'm confident there food is just as good as their sushi! I look forward to trying to udon, fried rice and lo mein.

I always look for good restaurants and always try to find good venues to brighten my nights on these tournament travels. On my first night I found Arashi Yama, and Oh My Lord was I happy to find this gem. I ended up eating there the 3 nights of my stay. The food is fantastic with flavors so extraordinary you just close your eyes and savor them. As an ex-fine dining chef I try to get the full experience and decided to get different dishes each night. My favorites: Salmon Sashimi New Style, this was an experience on its own. I got that one twice! Carpaccio (I picked the salmon) Tuna Tartare Sexy Lady Roll (Riceless roll) Crispy Bok Choy: This one! OMG!!!! You can not not try it! Tuna with winter truffle The quality of the food is outstanding and the freshest you can find. The food melts in your mouth and the truffle sauce they serve on many dishes is to die for! The entire team is wonderful, friendly, efficient, attentive and very professional; and it's always nice to come back to a restaurant where they remember you by your first name! Being on my own I ate all 3 nights at the bar and got to meet and watch the sushi chefs (John Carlo, Steve, JP, Angelo and Mason) create these beautiful and delicious dishes. It was like watching artists create master pieces! Fannie (owner of the restaurant with her husband Benny) was regularly checking on me making sure I was happy with my experience. When I told her I would come back the next day she surprised me with a reserved the seat at the bar, it was so busy so hadn't't she reserved this seat for me I would not have been able to enjoy watching the chefs work and savor their works of art. Finally I want to thank the rest of the team: Chanel (Hostess) as well as the servers (Carly, Tasha, Annie, Savannah, Josie, Richie, Sophia and Sandy) and the Bar Team (Austin, Naylee, Kaithlynn and Fanny too for the wonderful cocktails). I just can't wait for April 15th when I'll be back for another stay in the area.

We arrived later on a Saturday night craving hibachi and sushi, and it definitely hit the spot. I ordered the steak hibachi with fried rice, and my husband went with the lobster roll. My meal started with a cup of miso soup and if you follow our adventures you know I love miso. They did not disappoint. It was hot, flavorful, and tasted freshly made with good ingredients. For a drink I ordered a Long Drink. We first tried these at a local festival and fell in love, so when we saw a citrus flavor we had never tried before we were excited to order it. My hibachi came out hot and smelled amazing. The steak was cooked perfectly and the sauce mixed into the rice was really good. I do wish they gave just a little extra sauce for the rice. The rice itself was a bit stiff, but the sauce helped a lot. We also came about an hour before closing, so we were not too bothered by that. Our waitress was good, and her coworker stepped in to help when she was busy, which we appreciated. I also liked that you can see the sushi chefs working right there, and my husband really enjoyed his roll. The restaurant was very clean, including the bathrooms, which always matters. I also have to mention the water because it actually tasted good. If you know, you know how rare that can be. They also have plenty of parking, which makes things easy. Overall we had a great experience and it was the perfect spot for a much needed date night.

Old music videos I've never even seen before were playing which was cool. Though americanized, the sushi was good. The green tea we were served was delectable. More sushi featuring raw fish would improve the menu vastly. 2.) It needs a larger menu in general. I felt my options were very limited taste-wise which was kind of disappointing--though everything was delicious. If the business owner reads this, here are some roll ideas that would up the menu: Surfin' USA: raw tuna, yellowtail, salmon, wakame salad topped with sliced mango and spicy mayo Black betty: Smoked eel and cream cheese wrapped in black soy paper topped with scallop and black tobiko These are just two I came up with, but the theme of this restaurant holds SO much potential for interesting rolls based off of songs/bands.
