Staff at check in was very nice. However, I accidentally left a ring on the nightstand. I called the evening after I left and told them exactly where it was. The man that had been so nice to me the previous night at check in said that no one had been in that room except housekeepers. No one was staying in that room since the season didn't start until Memorial Day and that they would talk to housekeeping, and surely they would find it. Management was to call me back the next day I have called and left multiple messages and have not heard back from them. The ring is not worth a lot of money however, it was something my mother had helped me pick out before she passed away. I have done a lot of traveling, and occasionally have left things behind. I'm not sure that this is a resort at all. Far from it. It's just in name only. Fortunately for me it was on the way south towards Boston and quite fitting for my budget, so I booked it. I was here on a one night stay here in Hampton, New Hampshire. The Hampton Village Resort seemed like a good property to books at the time and I was happy that I did. The pricing per night was a nice budget friendly sub $80/night and it was nice comparable to other properties along the I-95 corridor. They do have a pool and sauna here, but I didn't use that service during my stay. The temperatures were already dipping into the mid 40's F at the time and going swimming outside isn't the brightest idea then. I arrived here on a Monday afternoon, October 17, 2016. The check in process was alright. It was quick and friendly for the most part and the check out process was as quick and painless as well. The Hampton Village Resort, as mentioned before, is in name only. Not to be mean, but it felt like it was a moderately priced hotel with the modern conveniences. Certainly not a resort in the traditional sense, but they were near Hampton Beach, but still, the property itself does not rise to the resort status that I am thinking of. Don't get me wrong. It was a good stay for me. I did enjoy myself, especially with a good nightly rate that offers comfort at a budget friendly surroundings. The overall experience here at the Hampton Village resort can be categorized as being nice and decent, budget friendly, casual. and quiet. The Hampton Village resort is located at 999 Main Street here in Hampton, New Hampshire. They accept major credit cards, which is always a good thing. In the hotel and hospitality, it's probably 99% of payment methods for bookings; but I'm just assuming. They have a private parking lot options available, but it's limited. Best bet is to get here early to avoid not getting a parking spot. The wifi here is pretty good, although it was spotty at times. The resort itself was a modest 3 story building, including the first floor parking, swimming pool, and lobby area. The room key is a little interesting. It's a cross between an old school green key ring and an electronic key reader. I received room 312 for the night and the air conditioning worked, after spending a few moments warming up. The television worked good and the room itself was very clean and the bed was made with perfection. The bed itself was quite comfortable and got a very nice night's rest. It was a nice stay here at Hampton Village resort for me. Thank you for the budget friendly room rates that make it positive for us travel junkies to make it happen. If you are in the area, consider the Hampton Village resort during your travels in New New Hampshire or anywhere throughout New England. It was a nice place to stop after cruising in Maine and I was off to western Massachusetts the next morning for more sightseeing. 3.5 stars for the experience. 4.0 stars for the bed and comfort. 4.5 stars for the price. This hotel stole money from me. Like many hotels, they informed me they were going to charge a ~$50 deposit in addition to the room fee, and that the deposit would be refunded at the conclusion of my stay. They never refunded the deposit. When I called to rectify the situation, the person who fielded my call said he couldn't help and a manager would have to call me back. Meh. I wasn't wowed but I wasn't disgusted. The good: Room was clean and looked recently updated. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of pillows on the bed. One of the kids went swimming at the indoor pool and enjoyed it. The location was a quick drive to Hampton Beach and near lots of restaurants and shopping. The not so good: we didn't bother with breakfast that they had. Coffee tasted like it was made hours ago. The offerings were bread, muffins, yogurt and juice. There was a water jug but it was empty. There were no tea bags. The Kuerig machine in the lobby that had coffee the previous afternoon was cleaned out of k-cups this morning leaving only the old stale coffee with breakfast as a choice. The people at the desk weren't rude per se but service was mediocre at best. Note that if you are paying with a debit card you will have to an additional $50 held on your card until you are checked out and they can verify you didn't damage the room. I would say that if you could get a room for less than $80 a night it's worth it. I wouldn't pay more than that again. read more

I downloaded yelp just to write this! I got a single king room on a Wednesday in January. It is a great hotel for its price, a tad bit dated, but otherwise very clean and tidy. Bed was comfortable and room was clean. Has an openable window, which was a nice surprise as I love a little fresh air at night. Microwave and fridge were convenient. The location, although a bit busy, was quiet and close to anything I could need. The indoor pool and jacuzzi were wonderful and since it was the off-season we were the only ones in it. However, the real star is the staff! Our maid/room attendant Annabel is a lovely woman who put the cherry on top of a great stay, she was very funny and had great recommendations for things to do around us! The owner was polite and accommodating as well. Overall, will definitely be staying here again! read more

I've stayed here twice this 2017 summer. I've heard the hotel is under new ownership, from before and there have been a lot of changes. It has certainly been remodeled. Hotel rooms have been very clean, both time. The outside and halls could be cleaned up a bit. However the bargain price makes up for those minor flaws. Staff is friendly and helpful. Pool area could use some updating. I'll definitely stay again next year. read more

Just spent a week at this hotel. I normally stay at hotel chains because they are like McDonald's in the fact that you always know what you are going to get but in this case I decided to check this place out. My first impression was that it was clean, the staff was friendly and it was quiet . Throughout the week I could hardly hear any of the other residents and everything, including the pool and spa, were clean and orderly. The bed and pillows were comfortable, the only two things that I missed was breakfast (COVID) and more space to hang my clothes. If you need a room in the area give them a try! read more

I liked this hotels location, staff was very friendly and helpful, found it on booking for a good price especially sense three miles away there was a seafood festival going on at Hampton Beach boardwalk which was awesome me and my girlfriend loved it. This was just a stop on our way to Maine. The pool and hot tub were nice and clean. That's important to me because I won't book a hotel with out an indoor pool. The parking situation could have been better which is why it's only getting four stars not five. The room was very clean! read more

Stayed there for one night with my two sons the night before my wedding. Overall very disappointing. Sauna didn't work, and when I spoke with the man at the front desk he said it did. Several others who were at the nasty outdated pool with us were told it just takes time to h9eat up. Never did! No linens on the pull out bed. Called and asked and was told there should be some in the closet, there were't and it took a while for them to show up with them never offering to make up the bed for my son. This place just allowed me to drive two hours away from home for them to allow me not to stay there because I was only 19 even though it was my boyfriend who's 21. My two guy friends who were staying at the same hotel got told they couldn't because there was a 19 year old staying there as well. Even though we called before to confirm that it would be okay? Then I read the reviews and saw all those pictures of bugs in the beds and I'm very glad we weren't allowed to stay at such a disgusting joke of a hotel that would rather take the money and not allow me to stay there for absolutely no good reason. Stayed at a million hotels before and have never been told I couldn't stay at a hotel with a 21 one year old who made the reservation. There was a large spider on the toilet when we arrived and when I went to wash my hands there was a totally different large spider coming out of the sink. We figured we would kill the spiders and as long as they're not in the beds we will be fine... about 5 minutes later my girlfriend and I lay down and there were several dead bed bugs. Absolutely disgusting and went to the check out.. we were not there longer than 45 minutes and the front desk employee who was clearly under the influence could careless and told us to call back the next day... no money back, no help, forced to leave since our room was infested in bugs and smelt terrible. read more

We loved our stay. We stayed for five days, four nights. The room did smell like smoke, but I also feel like they worked very hard to cover it up, I defused oils. The place was very clean and I watched the staff cleaning the eating area wonderfully. The kids loved the pool and hot tub. I wouldn't have used the sauna or downstairs shower either way. My son did use the downstairs bathroom and it was clean. Our room was always clean and they stocked the hygiene products daily. On the days I did not want my room clean they left a bag and clean towels, which was awesome. They had fresh baked cookies on multiple occasions. The breakfast was okay, good enough for us. However, I do wish they had hot water for tea, I knew they didn't have tea bags from a previous review but I thought I'd be able to get hot water! The front staff was always friendly and helpful. I honestly was nervous about the reviews but this place was cool! We will be back. read more

I was skeptical upon arrival but was very pleased with our visit. The water did smell funny the rooms smelt like smoke the pool could have been cleaner and the continental breakfast didn't have too much. However the sheets were clean along with the room bathroom and hotel itself. There was a fridge in the room which was excellent for left overs as well as free WiFi!! Unfortunately the site I booked my reservation through was inaccurate as to the distance from the beach, by double. We got off the elevator on our floor only to be greeted by wires coming out of the ceiling. Entered our room, which although it was remodeled, I had to let the gentleman at the front desk know that the room hadn't been Cleaned. He came up, agreed and clean it himself. That night the tv service was awful, I didn't call because of the late hour. The following day we were watching tv and the reception was beyond awful. I called the desk ,he came up and proceeded to place a towel between the base of the tv and the bottom of the screen! Had to call again later, because his half ass fix wasn't working. He said it was the tv, not the service and would bring a new tv from another room, he never came to the room. So although they sell you a room with cable, apparently they dont expect you to watch it. So disappointed, we don't get away often and this experience was awful. read more

I must say for the co$t of a two night stay... you can't go wrong with this place. Certainly there other locations within the area but at a cost of course. But if you're looking for somewhere to just crash after a long day of shopping, eating, beach etc... this is the place to go. The service was good along with heated pool and hot tub and convenience to being near many attractions within the area is perfect. Wow. You know the old movies with the gruff, unkempt looking guy behind the filthy, cluttered counter, and NO heat in the room.? Yeah, this is the place. Resort?! It should be illegal for this place to use the word in their name. I almost turned around and left as soon as I came in the door, but I knew they'd charge me anyway, and I couldn't afford that. So the creepy looking guy gives me the keys, I lug my luggage up the creaky, worn out stairs, into the WREAKING hall (combination of cigarette smoke and old, dirty carpet), and opened the door of my room with the weird little outdated electronic key. No key cards here, oh no!! The room was freezing. OK, don't panic, let's figure this out. The ancient wall thermostat was pegged at 90. Ok, that's not going to get me anywhere. There was a very faded more overt the wall thermostat that if you needed more heat to turn on the AC unit, which was also a heater. So, apparently the wall thermostat hadn't worked in years. The wall AC was waay up on the wall, so I had to climb on the bed to read the directions. Turn the the dial to Heat, turn the temperature to Warm, all will be well, right??! No such luck, only blowing cold air. Time to, *gulp* call the front desk. The guy played with it for a few minutes, then finally came to the conclusion it was broken. He said he'd put me in a different room. Hallelujah! He came back a couple minutes later lugging an old, scrapped up oil heater, claiming the only rooms were too expensive; basically cope, fool. Darn good thing I brought my footie pajamas. And to make the whole experience even more special, the toilet paper holder is literally 4 feet from the toilet. After all this all I wanted to do was relax and watch a movie on my phone. Oh, wait, their internet doesn't work on smart phones, only laptops. I should have paid a few more bucks for a standard chain hotel. Never, ever again, and if I can save someone from this nasty place it'll be a good thing. read more
