I've had 3 experiences with Redline:…read more The first was getting my initial 600-800 mile servicing done on my bike. I hung around and chatted with the guys (very friendly when face to face), and was on my way in an hour and a half or so. The price was way cheaper than Casey Cycle City, and the service quality was an A+. The second, I went to buy a pitbull swingarm stand. The price was even cheaper than Amazon! That transaction was also an A+. The third is now...I dropped my bike off on Saturday, March 5th. I am getting a full exhaust put on, a Power Commander V installed, and a dyno tune to sync everything. I called them on March 10th just to get an update and an approximate date of when my bike will be ready for pick up. The first call, Jeff answered. I said, "Hi sir, I'm just calling to check on the status of my bike". That is word for word what I said, and I was immediately hung up on without Jeff saying another word. I called back about 5-10 minutes later after no call back was received and this time JB answered, and was very helpful (went to the back and even checked with the mechanic and everything). My beef is solely with Jeff. They have caller ID, so IF him hanging up on me was unintentional, he could've called back. So knowing that, and the fact that someone else answered when I called back tells me getting hung up on was absolutely intentional. For a customer service based business, I find this EXTREMELY unacceptable, and disrespectful. If I've given you my business before, and am currently giving you business, you can't do me the favor of at least giving me an estimate of when my bike will be ready?? I plan to talk to Jeff personally whenever I go to pick my bike up (it's March 18th and I still am waiting), as well as getting the owners contact info and giving him a call as well. This leaves a bad taste in my mouth, but we will see what happens when I confront Jeff and talk to the owner.

Indian Motorcycle of Southeastern Virginia

I've been riding Indians for about 4 years. I had been using another dealer closer to my house…read more(one hour drive each way) but had a LOT of negative experiences with that dealership. When I would bump into other Indian riders on the road, all of them it seemed would tell me I need check out Indian of Southeastern Virginia. They are farther for me to reach, about 1.5 hours each way, but I used the ride one day as an excuse to go down there. I just randomly stopped in on a weekday. Ed, the owner, was there and made small talk with me. Others had told me he could be a bit prickly but we had a fine conversation. He did seemed turned off that I had not bought a new bike from them and that my most recent was purchased used, but he was polite about it. I then went back when they did an Indian demo days and I rode multiple bikes over a number of hours. I interacted with Ed and others on the staff that day. Everyone was very polite and upbeat. I recently visited during one of their anniversary party events. They had a "spin the wheel" for a discount and I got a discount of 40% and bought a $500+ leather jacket I had my eye on. I can tell you the "spin the wheel" at the other dealership I mentioned was a joke. Basically meant for you to lose, or you might get 10% off something if you're lucky. This place had generous prizes. Appreciated that. I decided to take my bike to them today for the first time getting a 5k service. They handled the scheduling all by text message which I really appreciate. As soon as I pulled in, Dave came out to greet me and they got right on it. I ended up being there about 2.5 hours and I could see the tech was working on my bike the entire time. I think they also did a washing/detail of the bike. That is fantastic! I had a 5k service performed on another bike at the other bad dealer I mentioned, and it was over like in 45 minutes to an hour. They tried to tell me that Indian lets them charge for 2 hours but that "they are efficient" and do a better job than the average Indian dealer. Yeah, right. I can see they just cut corners. When I asked if I got a cheaper price because they didn't spend 2 hours on it, they told me that of course not, they make a profit by being more efficient. What a joke. I feel this place did a great job on the 5k. Last thing I'll mention is that they had a bunch of great clearance deals on clothing. I also had 4 coupons with me today, one for a discount on the 5k service, a birthday coupon, and two other Indian promo discounts. Dave worked with me on all of them, with a good mood, and treated me great. I can't say enough about how great I felt about the whole experience. The other "bad dealer" I mention, any time I had a coupon they acted like I was a criminal. The wife part of the ownership actually accused me of using the coupon at another location and trying to pawn it off on them and using it again. Kept complaining

I went to Indian Motorcycles of Southeast Virginia today to buy a Sport Scout 60. I'd met with Erik…read morefor the first time a week prior -- he was knowledgeable, friendly, and never made me feel inexperienced for not knowing all the ins and outs of bikes. I drove an hour and a half to work with him again instead of going to Indian Motorcycles of Hampton Roads, just 25 minutes from me. When it came time to pay, I learned they required a cashier's check -- something I hadn't been told (bought both my previous motorcycles from Cycle World in VB on a credit card w no issues.) I was eager to ride the bike home, so wanted to find a solution. I asked Erik about credit card, debit card, wire transfer, etc. but was told the owner doesn't allow these methods. Feeling it was worth a conversation, I asked to speak w him. I offered to pay in full on debit, cover credit card fees, or even wire the funds, After a short discussion, he said there may be an option and walked away. Me and Erik continued w the sale and trade-in, signing docs and finalizing everything. The owner comes back a few minutes later, leading to the below conversation: Owner: "as an owner, I can do anything" Me: "fantastic, that's what I love to hear!" Owner: "and I would be STUPID to ever accept a debit card.." Me: "So no option to buy this today" Owner: "well, you need to understand why" Me: "I understand why, you don't want to take any risk." Owner: "but I need to explain so you understand" Me: "Stop talking, I understand why. It's over, you won't do it, I'm just going to try the other location closer to my house next time" He then says verbatim, "Oh, so now you want to be a fu-king douche bag and not be my friend?" To be fair, Erik did warn me speaking w him was a waste of time... Within 2 minutes, I went from ecstatic to be buying an Indian to feeling completely disrespected and disgusted with this business owner. All because I'm trying to pay him $12,000 for a motorcycle. As a note, 4 employees witnessed this and 2 of them made comments to me after the incident apologizing for his behavior and implying he's not fun to work with. Outside of this conversation, the guy had seemed nice. Pretty rude a few times "have you ever even done a wire?" and "well, are you sure your bank account can cover it?" (At which point I pulled up my checking account and showed him to alleviate concerns) but I brushed these comments off as I look young and understand the stereotype. Obviously hits another level when he feels a sale is threatened.. Erik is great if you want to learn about Indian motorcycles, but after that, I'd strongly recommend buying elsewhere and not supporting this arrogant owner. He did say "ride safe" as I was gearing up to leave on my bike, so there's that.. *the business is of course free to respond, however, I would kindly ask they provide surveillance video should you try to dispute any of these facts*

I took it to the owner, who is extremely cool and knowledgeable, took a look at it. Pointed out that the rim was exposing the bead and the tire had cracked. Didn't even charge me. Went back for the inspection and was in and out of the door. Another time I took my window regulator. Not only did they repair it, which other shops refused since I didn't buy it from them, but they also charged me a great price and told me they don't overprice repairs because they believe in honest work and not screwing paying customers. I always recommend them to anyone I know needing work done.

She explained but it still didn't make sense to me so I nicely said "okay thank you" she rudely responded and stated "alright bye" and disconnected the call. I have spent my money with these people on many occasions and usually the owner (who's a male usually helps and is usually professional and nice) so it was my first time dealing with her. However I am also a business owner and worked In customer service for years so the way you talk to a customer is super important to me. Especially if it's a customer who actually gave you their hard earned money on more than one occasion and to get a rude action like that is a slap in the face. I hate to say it but I may not give them my money ever again for that because that was absolutely rude! So to the lady who was rude here's a pointer for you "WETHER THE CUSTOMER IS GOING TO ABLOAGE OR NOT, KEEP YOUR ADDITUDE TO YOURSELF! NO ONE WHOS LOOKING TO PAY YOU WANTS TO DEAL WITH THAT CRAP! Just because of you being rude you lost a paying customer. I am no longer doing referrals either.
