Joel is an amazing mechanic that knows more about motorcycles than most mechanics have forgotten.

I did not. I was able to get a jump and get to AA Parts. I bought the battery, they offer a military discount and that definitely helps. Sam put it in for me and she was awesome. My husband was helping her figure out how to get the old one out of my Kia Soul. Then went to turn on the car and it wouldn't turn over. So my thoughts were all wrong. The battery was indeed dead, but not the only issue. That's when we found out it was probably the starter after the other employees, Joel and Tom came out to access the issue. Now I was in the boat of having to buy a new starter but they couldn't change it there without having a mechanic. Sam gave me some business card but ended up calling for me. Thankfully! I was already beyond stressed and on the verge of crying with this ordeal as it is. She really hooked us up which is great considering I was supposed to start driving back to Connecticut today. The guy came, which I wish I could remember what his business was called but he's a mobile auto repair mechanic. Once he heard my car trying to turned over he knew it was definitely the started. He jacked it up and got to work. They showed me the old starter, but let's be honest, I know nothing of cars so I don't know what I'm looking at! But once he was done, it started no problems what so over. Hopefully no more issues for awhile, but if you are nervous or anxious about your car like me, or have any questions.. definitely go to these awesome people!! If I weren't moving away, I'd definitely keep coming back. You restored my faith in this day, thank you so much.

Part 2 - My Experience with Casey BMW of Newport News…read more I purchased my vehicle from a dealer in Florida at an auction. Initially, I was impressed with the car. After reviewing the Carfax report, I didn't notice any major issues. I drove it from Florida to Virginia without any problems. A few months later, around August 2025, the check engine light came on. I took the vehicle to Casey BMW for an oil change, diagnostic, and troubleshooting session. My goal was to identify the cause of the light and uncover any potential issues I might not have known about. The total cost of this visit was over $1,000, but I was dissatisfied with the service advisor's attitude and found her to be rude and unprofessional. After that visit, I drove the car for about two weeks before the check engine light returned, this time accompanied by loss of acceleration power and overheating. I pulled over and contacted Casey BMW for a tow. When I spoke to my advisor, she stated another diagnostic was needed. A few days later, another advisor took over my case, informing me that the first advisor was out of the office. She reviewed my warranty claim and identified several issues: * Inadequate turbo lines * Faulty water pump * Malfunctioning thermostat * Gasket replacement required The initial repair estimate was $7,500, but after contacting my warranty company, the dealership adjusted the cost to approximately $5,750. Although I was told repairs would be completed within a week, I waited five days before calling for an update--only to learn that they were still waiting on parts. When I asked about a rental vehicle, I was told none were available. After being transferred to the rental department, I was able to get a vehicle the following day. After about a month, I finally got my car back. Two days later, while driving home, I noticed that the acceleration issue returned, though the overheating had stopped. I immediately contacted the dealership, and the advisor told me to bring the vehicle in for another diagnostic. During this visit, the advisor mentioned a timing belt replacement record that should have been caught earlier. This discovery came after I had already spent over $4,000. Had proper due diligence been done during the first diagnostic, I could have made a more informed decision about my vehicle and potentially avoided unnecessary costs. When I asked about this oversight, the advisor became defensive and repeatedly spoke about diagnostic codes without addressing my concerns. She denied knowledge of my prior visit. When I mentioned transportation, she said all rentals were unavailable and made inappropriate jokes about how I would get home. Fortunately, the rental advisor overheard the conversation and immediately arranged a rental vehicle for me. Before leaving, I spoke with a manager and shared that while I was satisfied with the mechanical work, I was disappointed by the customer service experience. Later, I discovered through an email from my warranty company that a new claim had been filed -- something the advisor never informed me about directly. When I called Casey BMW for clarification, I was repeatedly interrupted and had to ask to speak to a manager. I spoke with the manager last night and plan to return to the dealership today to continue resolving these ongoing issues.

I scheduled an appointment on Sunday and even called ahead to ask about the best time to come in…read morebecause I needed to wait for my vehicle--I couldn't drop it off. They told me mornings were best, so I booked a Monday morning appointment and paid for the tires online in advance. On Monday, Pep Boys called and said the tires weren't there and asked me to reschedule for Tuesday at 11 AM. When I arrived Tuesday at 11, the front-desk lady told me they had already sold two of the tires I paid for and had to reorder them. She said the tires would arrive in about an hour... but I ended up waiting five hours in the shop. This was extremely frustrating and shows poor management and communication. If the tires I paid for were sold to someone else, and if new ones weren't going to be ready on time, they should have called me so I didn't have to drive 30 minutes and waste my entire day.

They mounted the tires but refused to balanced them stating that 'trailer tires don't need to be balanced' according to the manager. They gave them to me at 50 psi instead of the required 110. Then three out of the 4 failed the first time using them because the valve stems were not replaced. I found this out on the side of the highway - thanks for the fun trip. The only thing i can say about them is DON'T EVER GO HERE. It cost me more than double the cost of mounting for the road side repair.

I took it to the owner, who is extremely cool and knowledgeable, took a look at it. Pointed out that the rim was exposing the bead and the tire had cracked. Didn't even charge me. Went back for the inspection and was in and out of the door. Another time I took my window regulator. Not only did they repair it, which other shops refused since I didn't buy it from them, but they also charged me a great price and told me they don't overprice repairs because they believe in honest work and not screwing paying customers. I always recommend them to anyone I know needing work done.

She explained but it still didn't make sense to me so I nicely said "okay thank you" she rudely responded and stated "alright bye" and disconnected the call. I have spent my money with these people on many occasions and usually the owner (who's a male usually helps and is usually professional and nice) so it was my first time dealing with her. However I am also a business owner and worked In customer service for years so the way you talk to a customer is super important to me. Especially if it's a customer who actually gave you their hard earned money on more than one occasion and to get a rude action like that is a slap in the face. I hate to say it but I may not give them my money ever again for that because that was absolutely rude! So to the lady who was rude here's a pointer for you "WETHER THE CUSTOMER IS GOING TO ABLOAGE OR NOT, KEEP YOUR ADDITUDE TO YOURSELF! NO ONE WHOS LOOKING TO PAY YOU WANTS TO DEAL WITH THAT CRAP! Just because of you being rude you lost a paying customer. I am no longer doing referrals either.
