Called in and they were unable to fit us in for 5 days ? In at 8am ... shortly after a call with um, ya need an $800 hose, um ya no we can't provide a detailed estimate.... um, yeah parts take 6-8 days. Honestly, I lost any confidence this business had the skills to provide this service. I took the vehicle elsewhere ... there diagnosis completely different with a written estimate detailing the condenser as the worn part, the part was ordered and installed in less than 3 hours at about half the cost, with a written warranty. I went back to American Pride Automotive, with the rusted worn condenser and asked for a refund of the $276. misdiagnosis and repair that they claimed to have provided and the Service Director could not for the life of him admit to his businesses failure. So, I gave him and honest chance to save a customer and instead has lost any chance at our business, but for $276 he's bought a lifetime of bad advertising for American Pride Automotive to all our family and friends. I looked at the other reviews for this business and see it's a pattern.... that's a shame.

I recently relocated to Williamsburg and in the midst of packing up and selling my home, I lost sight of my car inspection. It was already over due. I called American Pride and they were able to get me in the same day and even helped me get back and forth to my hotel from drop off to pick up. I am a widow and often get hit up for 'added repairs and services'...(I think being a woman dealing with car things, makes me a target). Given some of the other reviews here, I was a little worried that would be the case. They couldn't have been more kind, were courteous and no added 'recommended services or repairs' were pushed onto me. Just a passed state inspection and ready to go. Thank you American Pride. I wanted others to know, that I DID have good experience and didn't get the usual hit up for add ons.

I dropped my car off for an 8am appointment to get brakes fixed all bay were…read moreempty and I call back by 2 to see how much longer and they didn't even start on my car yet 5 hours later ! Said they just got the parts for my car at 1 and the guy went on lunch break mind you I made this appointment a week ago so they should of had my parts for my appointment at 8am since they knew I was coming to get my brakes changed ... I just went and picked my car up because that was very unprofessional.. when I got there to pick my car up at 230 all bays were full of cars getting worked on that got there after me ! I don't understand how they have those part ready for those car appointments but not mine ... do not recommend at all no sense of time or having the proper tools/parts available even when they been given advance notice you were coming .. I can see if I just showed up and they had to squeeze me in but that's was not the case and when they didn't have the parts they could explained that and called me back to drop my car off when the parts got there it's not hard to have common courtesy especially to a paying customer.. any other shop would have called when they didn't have the parts or had the parts ready for my appointment .. this is just ridiculous

Completely unacceptable, frustrating experience…read more I paid $1,338 for front brakes and calipers, and within six months I was still having braking issues. When I returned, they replaced only one front rotor under warranty. After a third visit for the same braking noise/vibration, I was told the problem was my rear brakes, even though those had been replaced only three months earlier at another shop. I then went to three independent shops, and all confirmed the real issue was a warped front rotor (the one not replaced the second time I brought it in). This should've been fixed the second or third time I brought it in. Instead they shifted blame to another shop, in which their work was confirmed to be fine. And for the price I paid, I shouldn't have had to bring it in multiple times for the same issue. Still after three visits and over $1,300 spent, my issue was still not properly fixed. The only good thing about this experience was that it was under warranty, and another shop was able to fix my brakes properly. I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before trusting this shop, and if possible save your time and go elsewhere.

I am disappointed at how I was received by Kit. It was jarring and strikingly unprofessional…read more Redirections such as "I think we got off on the wrong foot" and "I am not making any statements on your character, I am making an 'i' statement" were repeatedly unsuccessful. Again this is someone whose shirt i complimented, with whom both of us had been cordial, but could not be talked into a calm state. All of this because i leveled with him and expressed nebulously aimed frustration over a job that didn't last for the drive home, as the explanation for why i was asking for a redo. I asked him, "i mean objectively, you can understand why I would expect it to last till i reached home two miles away?". His rumination on the phrase "i felt ripped off" in response to the crashwrap beginning to peel off 0.5 miles from the facility was self-driven. That being said, why even recommend this as a temporary fix if I can't drive home with it? I would've liked it done right the first time and that's fair to express. We don't have to agree or see eye to eye and it's his right to feel I'm overly difficult. It was suggested that I should've cleaned my car first, not that they should've wiped it down the first time before applying wrap. (The car wasn't in the shop to have any crashwrap applied, so why would I have wiped it?) Ultimately I paid $104 to get an issue diagnosed and temporary tape put on the sunroof. I'm frustrated that I'm out $100 and the issue is not any closer to being fixed. The technician himself was amiable and communicative and the owner is also a pleasant man to work with. That being said this experience has burnt this spot for me. Having a disagreeable person work for you isn't a dealbreaker but maybe don't place him front of house.
