we stayed at the Hampton Inn St Augustine I95 February 14. They jacked the price up to $378 because of race week in Daytona which is 65 miles away. No allowance for loyalty customers. The tv kept shutting off, the phone was dead and the drain in the shower had black gunk on it. read more

The moment we stepped in this hotel I knew the people working here were on a mission to win everyone over. I did not expect much thinking that this is a budget to midscale hotel of Hilton and people were just there to sleep in the night and move on with their lives the next day. We previously stayed in Marriott Savannah Riverfront classified as premium by Marriott which turned to be a major blah and ugh so definitely no expectations for this Hampton Inn. Hampton Inn St. Augustine--the moment we stepped in, we were greeted by a nice smelling air freshener which wasn't overpowering. The lady in the front desk was the nicest. So this was my first time with a Hampton Inn by Hilton and it has set the bar high for all the Hampton Inns we would be going to in the future. This trip happened in September 2022, by the way. Room was clean, air conditioner was functioning well. And as a bonus there was a coin-operated washer and a dryer. Breakfast was pretty decent. Coffee, eggs, bagels... The breakfast place was not crowded at all. There was more than enough free parking space. read more

BED BUG ALERT!!! I had a prepaid reservation for 2 nights, Nov 10 & 11, 2023. Saturday morning, I found a bed bug in the middle of the bed with his little turds all around. I presented its' body to the front desk, who was not shocked or concerned. Neither was the GM. Hilton Honors referred me back to the property. They weren't concerned either. I have spent all afternoon disinfecting my luggage & clothing. I threw away the dog bed and custom softsided cooler. Now I have to call Philips to see how to disinfect my CPAP and carry bag. Overall my stay was uneventful. The location was good about a mile walk from the Fort, restaurants and shops etc. The room was clean although I felt like they are covering up something with the air freshener thay was placed in the room. This location was also very small space is at a premium! The lobby/ breakfast area/ check in area always seemed very full. The were two tables a bench and a high table. The breakfast and coffee bar left much to be desired. Again nothing eventful but it also nothing spectacular. read more

This place is a gem for those looking to relax. Room was simple but had everything needed for a great experience. That is, good shower, good air conditioner, clean linen, good lighting, good TV. The bed was excellent, like sleeping in a cloud. The hotel also has a lovely Jacuzzi, small pool, and good parking space. Common areas are clean and smell fresh. This was important for me as I was traveling with a pet undergoing chemo. The breakfast is very good, and the staff is awesome. I don't know who hired them but someone is doing a great job. Mandy, in front desk and housekeeping were extremely accommodating. I can safely say that their service made our stance an unforgettable experience. I will definitively stay here again and actually because of this experience, I will consider Hampton Inn whenever booking my future travels. read more

I booked a room for my mother through the Hilton Honors app for Thanksgiving week. We went to Saint Augustine to visit my husbands family. Mom was quite happy with the room. She enjoyed the free breakfast every morning. It was also nice have her in a location that wasn't far from the house and historic Saint Augustine. The room was clean and styled nicely. Would not recommend and would not stay here again. Checked in very late and night. Musty smell and lobby/check in area was under construction. Website did not state it was under construction and we were looking forward to a FREE continental breakfast. There was only a bagel and boiled eggs offered. Boo. Musty smell throughout hotel especially in rooms. Digital key was an option which I prefer to use. Woke up early in the morning to take a swim and visit hot tub. Come to find out, there was trash in pool and little to no water in the hot tub. We tried to put on jets to get in hot tub and they weren't working either. Reached in to feel temp of water - it was freezing! So not only was I not able to get a decent breakfast, I also wasn't able to swim or use the pool facilities they had listed on the website. Went to front desk to mention to manager and there wasn't one on staff. Only one guy working the front desk and trying to juggle maintenance and everything else. Poor service. Called Hilton (since I am a Hilton Member) they also tried to call a manager and there was no answer on phone! We checked out a day earlier and cut our trip short due to the poor service and the hotel lacking all the reasons why we booked in the first place! Do yourself a favor and don't stay here. The Hotel Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The facility was old, smelly and shouldn't be listed as historic district. This Inn is at least 1 miles from the edge of the Historic District. Not a good selection of restaurants within walking distance of this location. It was difficult to find the cost for parking on the Hampton website when we booked this hotel. My family stayed for a wedding in the area. We ranged ages 25-65. There were also kids from other families enjoying the hotel here too. Everything was great! My favorite were the freshly baked WARM cookies they put in the lobby in the afternoon hours :) Pool- clean, abundance of sunshine, refreshing. Breakfast - a REAL complimentary breakfast with lots of options including FRESH fruit, eggs, waffle station, cereal, southern comfort sausage gravy, and always coffee/tea options. Rooms - clean, modern white comforters and sheets, flat screen, great shower head options, pullout couch for more sleeping space. Housekeepers were so nice and willing to help with anything! Service - everyone was amazing, friendly, and full of suggestions on what to see, where to eat, how to get around town, etc. Very personable staff. This was my first time using advanced check-in on the app and using a digital key to get into my room with my phone! I was literally able to pick out my exact room on the app off a floor plan. How personal! The staff were helpful when trying to learn about the tourist attractions. The guest rooms were pretty, clean, and modern. Bathroom was quite big as well. I chose this hotel because it has free breakfast, which was your normal hot and cold buffet in the lobby. We only stayed one night and I'd recommend it to anyone stopping into town for short period. It's a pretty close drive to the historic area downtown. read more

Nice and clean! I arrived at 3:30 PM to check in and there were two other guests in front of me. Check in was breeze and really quick. The front desk agent even provided me with a goody bag with two bottles of water and maps. You're able to check in on the Hilton Honor's app and select your room prior to arrival. The closer to the elevator the closer you are to the main road. You can hear the cars zooming past at night when the AC is off. I was able to make it into my room by 3:35 PM, change clothes, and call an uber to take me to a wedding at the White Room which is 1.8 miles away. Uber driver was lost and parked at the Best Western lobby. Rooms are pretty spacious and the water pressure is great in the bathrooms. Complimentary breakfast was good too. My favorite is the bagel toppers. The app mentioned they had oatmeal but I couldn't find by the buffet line. read more

Our favorite chain of hotels to stay with. Always a pleasant experience!! Hotel staff is friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Hotel and room are tidy, fresh, and contain fluffy pillows and a comfortable bed. This hotel had a small, nice, and clean outdoor pool and hot tub on premise. The breakfast was free and hot. The breakfast selection had something for everyone, the choices are many. Great location to downtown historic St Augustine - 10 min drive or 25 min walk. When we stayed here we walked downtown and that evening ordered a Lyft to drive us back to the hotel. Hampton Inns are always our first choice!!! read more

Hampton needs to do an inspection and tell some of these sub-standard places to either update and repair or they will lose the Hampton Inn franchise. We stayed here from December 19 until the 20th. We were visiting my daughter and her family. On the 2nd day here, I got terribly sick and ended up in the ER. The next day, we decided to stay another day to make up for lost time with my family. I went to the front desk to see if I could get another night. Chantil, the manager asked how I was feeling and said they had been concerned. Not only was I able to get another night but because of my problem the day before, she discounted it 50.00. When I got to my room the household staff was just as friendly asking if I was better. Very caring bunch of people! Oh and the hotel was very clean as well! I would highly recommend! read more

The Staff at this location were friendly and very helpful. Its a great location based on the fact that you are not too far from the historical district, which is about a mile away. They have an awesome hot breakfast that includes Waffles, Oatmeal, Yogurt, Potatoes, Eggs, Assortments of Fruits and Pastries, and egg bagels. Coffee and Tea are available 24/7 and they have Cucumber Water which is very refreshing. The hotel rooms are very nice and modern, and Wi-fi and Cable are included. Also if you are an honors club member you are greeted with extra snacks that are provided at the front desk and bottled waters. Also they offer complimentary toiletries. Which was great because I totally forgot my toothpaste and toothbrush. Also the products they offered for Shampoo and Conditioner were by Neutrogena. Overall my stay was pleasant! read more

This Hampton Inn gets the benefit of the doubt for that third star because even though my stay was leaning toward a 2-star stay, it wasn't really their fault. Problem is, apparently we stayed here on a busy weekend. When I booked the room, there were only two options left: a smoking room, or a non-smoking room. The non-smoking room was $100 more (a suite, I think), putting it in the price range that we were trying to avoid, and actually in line with the much nicer Historic District Hilton. So, reluctantly we chose the smoking room thinking that at least they surely deodorize it or whatever. And they do. The bad news is that the window doesn't open so the room is caked with a stagnant, stale stench of a million smokers mixed with a million bottles of Febreze. If you find yourself in a similar situation, don't underestimate it. I'm generally not even remotely offended by cigarette smoke, and we've stayed in smoking rooms before without much issue. But this, it knocked me back when I opened the door. I could taste it in the morning, ick. Anyway, as I said, they get the benefit of the doubt because it's not their fault that I'm too cheap to spring for the suite (our upcoming wedding necessitates our frugality). The breakfast was standard Hampton Inn fare, and the employees were generally friendly. The water pressure in the shower was actually above average. Otherwise it was nondescript except for another odd smell in the hallways, not as bad as in our room but it was there. read more

The place was not clean at all. We were supposed to stay 3 nights, and on the second night, around midnight, the fire alarm went off for no apparent reason. It woke everyone in the building up. When we were woke up by the fire alarm, that's when we noticed the hideous running cockroaches on the floor. We spoke to hotel management and they wouldn't allow us to cancel the 3rd and final night. He charged us for the room, even though it was empty. I wish I took took photos of the roaches, but I wasn't thinking about that in the middle of the night. It was incredibly difficult to sleep that 3rd night, but where else were we going to go? Just a poor experience overall. read more

This is a small hotel within walking difference of the Trolley. The front desk staff was very helpful getting us good ideas of getting around. A Trolley shuttle is available to pick you up right at the front to take you to the Trolley. In the evening was the Trolley is unavailable suggestions were made to get to downtown. I stay primarily at Hiltons so I have a lot to compare.. This Inn and the staff stand out as one of the best. read more

I stay at Hampton s all up and down the east Coast ... NEVER NEVER have I been in a room where another bed was put in the room I assume for more money.. You just about had to crawl over the bed to get to another one. ( See pictures) so the story is.. A few nights ago I stopped at the Hampton Inn on Ponce de Leon in St Augustine. I asked the rate and because, the rate was reasonable I said great 2 nights please . Later that night I checked my bank account and I saw that I was charged much more than was stated lets say about $120.00 dollars more per night. I called the front desk placed the phone in the room on speaker so that my wife could hear . The front desk Associate said " I have no problem correcting that" . The next morning I checked the charges again and nothing had changed . I walked down to the front desk and spoke with a Associate that said " he was not working and he would" check on that" later that day I stopped by the desk and was told that he "spoke with everyone concerned and they knew nothing about that rate" Not to mention this but the room was so small that you had the crawl over the bed to get to the other side of the room. I have stayed at Hamptons for years near have I seen a room like this. So far I am being cheated out of over $100.00 a night and had a cracker box room. If they are doing this to me they have /will do it to other Guests.? STAY AWAY read more

Stayed here for a day and a half awful experience. The hotel smelled as if they were doing sewer maintenance. No real amenities pool was cold, hot tub was warm and not full enough to turn on the jets. The pool was also right next to the road so no sense of privacy. No food or snacks for Purchase was told to go to CVS 2 blocks down the road. There was absolutely no parking left at our hotel we had to park in the electric parking! The only upside I would say there was is that most of the staff was very friendly!! read more

My friends and I stayed at the Hampton Inn recently for my friends birthday weekend. It was a VERY pleasant experience. The rooms are clean and the staff is extremely accommodating. We visited on a busy weekend when it was difficult to find transportation into town, however, Sean at the front desk jumped into action and was able to find us an affordable taxi within minutes. I will most DEFINITELY be booking my next stay here. read more

As Honors Club members this was the worst experience we have had at a Hampton inn no Love for members and free bugs. We were there off season when the place was half empty and were given a room the was smaller due to the vending and ice machines in the corridor. But it got worse after returning from dinner the desk on the internet center was crawling with bugs.We quickly asked for another room on a different floor. We arrived unplanned on a Saturday night. She took the time to call other hotels to see about vacancies when she was very busy. Offered us coffee, water & cookies while we waited. She found us two king size sweets at another hotel at a very nice discounted rate. Just for her being super friendly & going out of her way to help us we will return there to stay. read more

Wow!! What a dump!! I gave this Hampton one star because the front desk clerk was courteous, that's it. I was a distance runner in college and if this hotel is within walking distance of the historic district you need to be a marathoner. On road trips, I usually stay in Hamptons because they are usually consistent from one hotel to another. This facility probably could not compete with a Motel 6. Tiny room, vinyl tile entry and bath!! Bath was smaller than most baths on a cruise ship. Chair in the room was propped up against the wall because it was missing a leg!! Plumbing fixtures in the bath were ready to fall out of the wall. If this location is a franchise, it's time for Hilton to pull the plug. This site is a great candidate for a tear down!!! read more

This hotel is fine if you are looking for a cheap option close to the action of St. Augustine, and if you aren't looking to spend a ton of time in your hotel. Technically, you could walk to the downtown area, but it's a bit far. The staff is friendly and the check-in process is easy (and there is free coffee, beverages and cookies in the lounge). The room was about what I would expect for a Hampton Inn. It was pretty clean and had everything you'd expect in a basic hotel room, except the pleather couch in the corner really looked gross to me. There also was kind of a weird odor in the hotel. We had a lot of Hilton Honors points, so the hotel only cost $34/night. We spent the night out on the town and probably only spent about a total of 9 hours in the hotel itself. They do provide a basic continental breakfast in the lounge in the mornings. My advice is, stay here if you are looking for something cheap and basic, but don't come here if you're looking for a romantic or classy stay! read more
