This hotel is great in most aspects. I've stayed here a lot. The only thing that sucks is the air conditioning. And this is a constant across all the rooms I've had. It won't go lower than 66. And it won't run until it reaches 66. It shuts off all the time. I just got back from work and it's 81 degrees in here. The AC was still set to 66. Being comfortable while I'm sleeping is the most important aspect of a hotel stay to me. That being said, the breakfast is great. They have something different every day. The staff is friendly. The pool is a great temperature. I'd give this place 5 stars if it wasn't for that AC. I woke up drenched in sweat last night. It's gross. Even crappy hotels have AC that goes to 60, and will actually hit 60. This one only goes to 66, and it's always above that. read more

We made a 4 hour drive to attend a friend's wedding in Clovis scheduled to start at 4 p.m. We arrived at the hotel at 3 p.m. hoping to check-in and change our clothes. I called one week earlier and was told they could not guarantee us early check-in even being a Hilton Honors member, and the phone rep was rather unreceptive and dismissive of my request even when I explained the circumstances. When I went to the front desk, ***front desk clerk Leslie gave me a smile and warm welcome to the hotel. This is exactly what a weary traveler hopes for. I explained why we hoped to check in early and after some slow computer lag she was able to locate a room for us which made us very happy! She gave us instructions about where to park, where the elevators were, and the hours of the free breakfast. And after changing into our dress clothes, while walking through the lobby toward the parking lot, Leslie smiled and wished us well. This is exactly the type of employee any business should highly reward, she was outstanding at making us feel like valued customers (unlike the East Indian woman I spoke with a week earlier) and she clearly enjoys her work. Upon check-out the following morning, different clerks were at the front desk, a middle-aged Black woman and a younger man. I told them about our room - the bed closest to the bathroom had worn out springs since it sagged and made a loud noise every time I sat on it to get in the bed. They said they would address this and thanked me for notifying them. (One recommendation: have all staff wear an easily visible name tag.) So other than the phone interaction one week earlier, our hotel stay was excellent. The breakfast area was especially clean and well-maintained. But Leslie was the star of the show! read more

Was a very nice hotel with a variety of snacks and served breakfast from 6-10 am. the beds were nice and smelled good. i scheduled a cleaning for my room from 1-3 pm and came back with nothing clean. i called the manager and she told me that i would receive 10,000 points and free snacks. overall a great experience but remember to clean my room next time. read more

"Hotel for Firefighters and Evacuees." When I checked in here, I sort of expected a mid-level place, with few amenities, and dated decor. I was 100% wrong. They recently renovated the entire hotel, and it looks brand new. My room looked new, and was perfectly clean. My room included expected amenities such as free wi-fi, plus USB ports. The remote control is housed in a plastic bag, after cleaning. I appreciate their attention to detail. Of course, all the appliances worked just fine. The thermostat was easy to figure out. During the Covid crisis they don't serve breakfast in the dining room. Instead, they give you a to-go bag. Okay, not as good, but understandable. And now the rest of the story: There is a large fire blazing about 35 miles away, and many firefighters are staying here. Also, the hotel houses evacuees from that same fire. The dining room is full of gifts for the firefighters, as well as free food for the evacuees. See the photos video to get an idea. So overall, an excellent visit. One of my favorite hotels, in one of my favorite cities. I tried, but I could not find one thing to criticize about this hotel. Oh yes, they have special, close parking for Diamond Club members. I'm not exactly sure who's in that club, but I'm pretty sure I'm in it. read more

My second stay here in two weeks for work. And this go around was just as great as the first. The staff is always super nice, the room was great and this location has the best breakfast I've had at any of the other locations in the area. Last note, Lauryn the Sales Coordinator left me a handwritten note on my door thanking me for coming back. She was awesome during my first stay, and things like this really show how much she cares about her guests. I will definitely be back! read more

Been a Hilton customer for over 20 years but got jerked around big time here. Shuttle provided when checking in on a Sunday but they later said they actually did not -very strange. Said also that they haven't had shuttle service for over a month. Guess they sent a ghost shuttle? Had another confirmed reservation with them later that same week but they said they did not have a room for me when I arrived because they were "over sold" plus had no shuttle even if they did have availability. This ghost shuttle program and not honoring reservations extremely frustrating! Never had this kind of poor customer service with Marriott so guess I will be using Marriott properties in the future! Works great for a quick cheapish last minute booking. Don't go through Expedia though if you care what room you get. But overall friendly staff and very helpful. Spacious rooms. We were visiting family in the area and stayed here for one night. The rooms was very clean and it was a plus that they have lotion, shampoo, conditioner, gel and bar of soap. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and clean. We had breakfast before we headed out and that was perfect as well. The breakfast area was also very clean and plenty to offer. I stayed at the hotel for three days. Services were minimal but understandable during covid. However, I accidentally left a few items in the closet and tried to receive them back a day later. There phone lines were not working so I went in personally. The front desk told me that house keeping isn't there and items were locked. They told me when they came in hey would call me. Was told twice they would call me back and never did. I'm physically back again and still can't get any answers. I asked what is their process or protocol for left items and can't get any info. Pretty lame. Won't stay again. Ideally if a quest stays and leaves something you tag it with the name and room number and keep it for a reasonable time for guests to retrieve. ‍ read more

Dear Hotel, One idea is to maybe install those clever devices that make your heavy doors close gently, instead of slamming shut and making a loud banging sound. In my experience, most people go to hotels to sleep (or possible for other types of banging), and all those doors slamming shut, at all hours of the day and night, makes for an unpleasant experience. This is a newer Hampton Inn located near the Fresno Airport in Clovis. It is located next to and shares a parking lot with the Homewood Suites. The Hampton Inn is located about 2 blocks form the Sierra Vista Mall, and busy Shaw Avenue where there are many restaurants. The hotel is basic, yet, it satisfies my wife's needs in a hotel. It is a newer hotel. It has 3 or more floors. HGTV is one of the channels that is offered in the room. Breakfast is served downstairs in the morning. Breakfast is a typical Hampton Inn Breakfast consisting of a waffles, yogurt, oatmeal, eggs, sausages, fresh fruit and other good stuff. Customer service is nice and friendly. The clerk up front was willing to answer my questions, and helped recommend a place for dinner. The room was quiet, and the bed was nice and comfortable. I was able to sleep the whole night without tossing and turning. Overall, this is a nice hotel. I know the Fresno/Clovis area is not a major tourist destination. But, when necessary to go to the Fresno/Clovis area, this is a nice hotel to stay at. read more

PROS: Clean Bed/bedding comfortable Blackout curtains Convenient location to Old Town/shops/restaurants Nice decor Breakfast till 10am CONS: Could hear everyone in hallways outside our door. Could hear people walking upstairs. So I guess kinda thin walls. Also could hear traffic outside since we stayed literally above the front doors of the hotel. Average Hampton Inn for travelers needing a room near the airport for work who just need a basic room. It's the most affordable option that popped up on the app so I booked it. I haven't been to FAT for years! There used to be a Holiday Inn in walking distance but when I looked it's a Wyndham family hotel now. Like the rest of California, Fresno has upgraded its appeal to visitors and it must have paid off because there's tons of hotels here now. The staff must have been undergoing shift change when I walked in around 11:30 PM on a Wednesday because there were 4 people standing around the front desk talking and they didn't look happy to see me. One of the girls handed me over to another girl who grudgingly checked me in, fetched me two waters and handed me a room key. No details about this hotel such as where the elevator was. No thank you for Diamond membership. Decided it was late so I dismissed it, but didn't leave me with a great feeling after a long long day (full day at LAX and the drive up to FAT). I picked a room with an enormous king bed, a mini frig and microwave. The wifi here is weird. Instead of the usual Hilton redirection to log in for free premium wifi as an HH member, they have a "Hilton Honors" network which only needs a last name and room number but there's no way for members to gain the faster free option. All in all, since there's a Homewood Suites nearby and a Hampton Inn 5 miles down that road that both get glowing reviews, I'll probably just pay the extra few bucks and stay there next time. read more

The front desk and others provided great customer service, the room was more than comfortable and breakfast always perfect for what you need. The personnel were always offering to assist or help in anyway they could and asking if anything was needed. Providing the utmost in customer service. I am a coffee fanatic, and loved having coffee at the front desk area all day long. One of the best things ever! The only thing I have to say bad, and it is not that bad. If you are a light sleeper the noise levels from the parking lot, or adjacent room can be a little disturbing. But not anything I could not eventually fall back asleep with. I did find the Homewood across the way to be quieter than here about a year ago when I did stay. But overall still very accommodating and comfortable. This hotel chain is basic as we all know but even with that being said, this location is substandard from what I am use to with even "basic" hotels. The place is pretty old and could use upgrading. The rooms have old furniture that's chipped and mismatched, rock hard squeaky beds, and the bathrooms is patched together with bad repairs... that on top of mystery stains on the wall and other people's hair left behind: I definitely wouldn't stay here or recommend staying here to anyone. Fresno is my hometown and I was there for a quick weekend trip and with this being in Clovis and compared to the pictures, I'll tell you it's a big disappointment. Also with Covid going on, they can't serve the breakfast like usual (understandable) but their substitute was boring and sad. It was worse than a school breakfast that they give children. To top off my stay, I unfortunately left my AirPods (in the case with a light pink pom pom) on the bed (my phone shows the last location of them). I called a couple of hours later to say I'd be by to get them because I was literally getting on the road back to Los Angeles. The lady on the phone (Michelle I believe) was SO RUDE and basically said since house keeping wasn't done sleazing (this was 3pm by the way) she wouldn't be able to see if they found them (I guess they don't have wallow talkies or phones?) After she sassed me, my fiancé was upset so we took the 25 minute drive to the hotel where Michelle then fixed her attitude and was magically not as busy as she claimed to be on the phone. She went around looking (the room and laundry carts). Of course they were nowhere to be found. It's pretty clear that stuff like that doesn't get returned especially from hotels like this. The rude girl doesn't know how fond my iPhone works and really tried to say housekeeping doesn't have them... because now magically al housekeeping was done and gone for the day (remember 25 minutes prior she said they were still cleaning and didn't turn in their carts yet) she doesn't realize my map shows what was the last location they connected to my phone and apparently liked to debate and be right. Screw this raggedy hotel, the thieving lying staff, and the chain. read more

Stayed here a few times this summer. For us it's the best choice in Clovis. The king studio with couch is our preference. We've been able to get our preferred room every stay no prob. They're dog friendly and it's one of the reasons we originally stayed here but we'd come back without the pooch as well. The hotel is very clean and parking is easy. The breakfast has more than enough choices, hot & cold.....eggs, sausages, potatoes, cereals, lots of bread choices, fresh juices, fruit waffles etc etc.....one day the breakfast area was packed and I feel the attendant did a great job keeping up with the mass of eaters. Pool has been a great way to refresh in the heat. You do need to go to the front desk for towels. Overall a great hotel with a competent staff that seems to care about its guests! I spoke to the front desk person in English and they told me my reservation had been canceled because we couldn't all speak English. I normally enjoy staying at the Hampton Inns. However this particular one in Clovis really takes the cake for not being prepared. Just a couple weeks prior to this stay, I stayed at the one out on Herndon and 99. Not only was their front desk top of the line hospitality, but they had a Warm breakfast every morning. Yes, due to covid they came in a to-go box. But it was a real meal. Here they give you what you might find in a homeless shelter. My daughter wouldn't even touch it. overall, hotel was clean and the rooms were nice, but there isn't much of a point in spending extra money to stay where they give out pity food that nobody will eat when you can stay at the same exact hotel, just across town, and get much MUCH better service and a real breakfast. Very clean place. Looks like it's a new property. Staff is very friendly. You get a bottle of water and a snack bag of chex mix when you check in. Check in is quick and convenient. Hot breakfast everyday in the morning. It tastes good too. Nice comfortable beds. Room sizes are pretty large. They left a Ghirardelli square on the bed. You also have a popcorn packet if you like to make some. There is a pool. I did not access it but saw few people enjoy the evening warmth. I was disappointed in the condition of the room. When your a HH member and you accrue points from previous stays you wan to feel you got your money's worth. You have earned that. I see post regarding complimentary water non was given , no cookie, no chocolate . My room looked like it needed to be cleaned and put as a do not use why they gave it a once over and did some repairs. I emailed the GM and the Director of sales I have yet to hear from anyone. If they do contact me I will update my post. Saturday I left my room around 7:30am retuned after 9:00pm to find that the room had not been cleaned, no fresh towels , no soap. The front desk clerk was kind enough to bring stuff up. I was annoyed that I was in a room that needed to be cleaned and repaired already and to arrive in te evening and not to have had any attention was wrong. I was asked if I put a do not disturb sign up .. I did not even see one . The housekeepers however knocked and open my door twice while I was packing getting ready to leave yesterday. That was annoying. All of the sudden now they want to clean my room. I hope to hear from someone at this establishment. ****UPdATE I have received a phone call from the GM himself . He apologized profusely for the shortfalls I encountered. He had taken the time to review pics and did not make excuses but stated the hotel soon will be undergoing a complete renovation. He also refunded my points used *** I appreciate that whole heartedly it's a safe area and I would love to return when and if I'm in Clovis again. We were in Fresno for a two day con, but didn't want to stay in Fresno. We happily drove the extra ten minutes to Clovis. Staff was friendly. Rooms were clean, location was nice and quiet. I stayed two nights at the Hampton Inn in Clovis and have to say it is a really, really nice place to stay...super clean and good breakfast and the people at the check-in desk are all so helpful and friendly. I travel a lot for work and have experienced all levels of 'service' from hotels and this is definitely a 5 star, in my opinion. I left some items of clothing in the closet and called and they shipped them overnight, free of charge. They were delivered to my door the next day!!! Clean rooms, room smelled clean, found a hair in the bed, and bed was a little firmer than other Hampton Inns I've stayed at. there was an off and on humming noise outside from the floors below at night but once you fall asleep you won't hear out unless you are a really light sleeper. the walls are thin so you will hear the neighbors cough, mumbled voices, tv, etc. the staff at check in didn't acknowledge my Hilton membership so i didn't get my complimentary bottle of water but because i looked at the cookies they acknowledged that i could have one. plus, she didn't tell me about breakfast. probably won't stay there next time. my coworkers said the Best Western Plus on Shaw Ave was nice and quiet so I'll probably try that one out next time. read more

After reading the many horrendous reviews of the hotels in Fresno and Clovis I had very low expectations. I am happy to say everything was A+! The room was newly remodeled and spotlessly clean. Not a speck of mildew in the shower. Super clean bedding and floors. Hot breakfast was great! (and I am PICKY!) Nice touch to have coffee available in the lobby 24/7/ Staff was super nice and helpful, business center was a great amenity and since I was travelling for work I did need to print out some stuff and grab a few paper clips. I witnessed poor professionalism from the night staff. I stayed over a week with my family. I leave early mornings for jogging before I pray and I have to knock forcefully to get assistance. I've overheard a overnight staff tell a customer (traveling medical professional) "I don't care You a Nurse I'm a social worker by day just don't talk to me talk to my manager". Later Threatened to have customer removed by security after raising concerns about her tone and unwelcoming demeanor. Definitely hard to watch someone responsible for the software to open my door to my thing,and family, but also security for my family while I'm away be so disrespectful, impatient, and loud with another customer.
