We got the interior of the house painted and while I absolutely hate those 'bada-boom' commercials, (Please stop running those ads) we loved staying at the local Comfort Suites. It was clean, the staff was nice, the kids loved the breakfast. Honestly, even I liked the oatmeal. It was cooked perfectly. Not so much the scrambled eggs. Oh well. Big plus, the room was quiet, quiet, quiet. No hallway noises, no hearing the neighbors snore. Nothing. I loved that. Plus, there's a Pokemon Go stop that can be spun while in the room. read more

This place was a mess. We came into town for a cheer stunt championship booking multiple rooms for 25 girls. Upon arrival we checked in and our key card didn't work at our door. We had to wait for someone to come and change out the reader on our door. The person who did that was kind and frankly the only reason I even give any stars. Then multiple rooms our girls stayed in had cockroaches in their room. There was another room that the girls found clumps of hair in their bed sheets like the bed wasn't turned over with new bedding. One had a room that had napkins with blood on it in the bathroom. My daughter and her roommates ended up leaving the hotel at 11pm and finding a new hotel because it was so disgusting. Our room smelled of mildew or mold as well. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, even for a one night stay like we had. read more

It was 1:00 am and I needed some sleep. I was at the nearby hospital with my husband. I called and Rebecca answered and said YES we have a room. When I arrived, Rebecca was at the counter waiting for me. Very professional but mostly very nice and accommodating. Rebecca supplied me with a toothbrush and paste. I had nothing, she also asked if I needed a late check out. I needed this kindness after my long scary day. The bed was comfortable and very clean. The shower was nice. Everything I needed and more. They need to invest in new furniture and clean their rooms. The first room they gave us smelt of mildew and when you turn on the air conditioner it got worst. There was dust and hair hanging off the lamp and the floors were dirty. We went down and asked for another room and the clerk was very nice and changed our room, next room was just as dirty with the furniture worn and very old and out dated with the chair having a whole in the arm. The pull out bed was ripped up with springs breaking through. At least this room didn't stink of mold/mildew. We have been coming here once every year for the last 10 years it is a shame they have let it go. read more

Our room seemed to be brand-new, and the nice lady at the check-in desk explained that there was a hotel renovation not very long ago. The room was comfortable, the bed was fantastic, and there was a humongous TV in the room. That was important because we wanted to see the "Voice" that evening. As others have noted, the rooms seem to be a little on the noisy side. It did seem that we could hear the people in the surrounding rooms a little bit. Fortunately, they were not too rowdy or holding too many parties! The plumbing in a room seem to a little bit on the clunky and noisy side as well. The fan in the bathroom made a lot of clatter. The hotel includes a free breakfast. I thought this was okay. There are some hot eggs and sausage, cereal, yogurt, and some pastries. Best of all they have those secret make your own waffle machines! Well okay, I guess they aren't really secret, but they are fun! They have a machine that pours out the goop and you put the goop in the machine and then you have this wonderful concoction to eat later. Minor annoyance: the advertised 15% off your first visit did not really work. The nice people at the desk explained that since I already had a good rate it would not apply. DO NOT STAY HERE!!! The bathtub had hair in it so it obviously was not cleaned. We arrived late so I just decided to wash it down the drain. When I attempted to turn on the water, the knob fell off in my hand. I made the front desk aware. They told me they could "probably" have someone look at it sometime tomorrow. We were there for a morning graduation, so this wouldn't work. I asked for another room but was told there weren't any. I booked another hotel last minute so, of course, had to pay a premium. When I went to check out they told me they had to wait a specific amount of time to see if one of the higher priced suites (which was all they had left) might get booked before offering one to us and they could offer one to us after we frantically spent the previous half hour finding another hotel. My family was actually relieved to not be staying there as the lobby was unkept and the room looked like it was not cleaned (hair in bathtub). Most Choice Hotels are nice. The Comfort Suites in Clovis, CA is the lowest end of the chain's spectrum. read more

Well I check in and we get to our first room and there's foot powder or something all over the bed. They end up moving us no big deal. The kicker is when I checked in they charged for the full amount of the room which is expected. What wasn't expected was I get a notice that I'm overwhelmed limit on my Credit card. They charged another 275 and 260 and 92. Then to top that off they tried charging 365 and 400 more today that was Declined. Then I was told that they can charge whatever tha T want at the Hotel. My thinking is my Lawyer will have a field day with this! read more

We stayed at this location, 11/17/17 - 11/19/17, because it was close to the site where we were going for WBA competition. The truck arrived a few hours prior to the bus. Willie Seals (I hope I spelled that correctly) was the gentleman behind the desk upon our arrival. I felt he went above and beyond his duties. He and the young female that was there that evening were extremely patient with us as we went over the rooms for all the students and moved things around to ensure that there was a chaperone on each floor. They were attentive and even assisted us in unloading ALL the luggage that was in the back of the truck. Our stay here was an A+ Our experience with the staff was A+++ Thank you for dedication and great training! Thank you to the staff that was there during this weekend. And a big THANK YOU to the staff that put together the breakfast an hour early due to the size of our group. read more

This is a super nice hotel but... The room was very large and very clean. It was ready before the 3pm check in which was very cool. The person who checked me in was very polite and helpful. As I said the room was very nice. The hot tub was large enough for my wife and I. The bed was very firm. I liked the room very much. The problem was the noise. We were near the lobby and it was very noisy until 1am. Most of the noise was the 3 people in the room next to ours. Not the hotels fault but very annoying. I tried the passive aggressive knocking on the wall and speaking loudly about how loud they were to no avail. The problems with the hotel were the morning staff. The staff setting up the breakfast decided to stand outside my room about having to do the set up for breakfast. This conversation was very loud and very lengthy. The next problem is the paper thinness of the walls. As everyone came down for breakfast it got very loud. Once again, not really the hotels fault, but as I hope they read this they may want to address the issue. Finally, the workout room was out of order. This wasnt told to me when I checked in. My wife discovered this when she went to use it. Out or order. The whole room. I got the room for free is the only good news this review. Not a refund. I use choice hotels and got it on my reward points. I will be sharing my thoughts with choice and welcome the manager to respond to this post. read more

Irene the manager was not helpful. I came for my son's dr. Appt at valley children's, we ended up needing to stay at hospital I asked for a credit or anything to help a single mom out financially and she told me she would, when priceline called she denied and was unwilling to help I called back and she said their was nothing she could do. Their was, she just choose not too. My son was in a MVA and we drove 4 hrs for his follow up. Don't book here if you think there may be an emergency or traveling with your kids. read more

I think this is more of a two and a half star hotel. I'll start with the positive. The girls at the front desk are kind and helpful. The hotel is centrally located within walking distance of many restaurants,and the charming old downtown Clovis. There is also a walking path if you are so inclined. The rooms are marginally clean when you arrive. Note: I have stayed here a lot, my company puts me up, I don't have a choice. When I leave for the day to come back to a "cleaned" room. There is always something a miss. Garbage not taken out, coffee not replenished, and the coffee downstairs is awful! Breakfast in the morning is also marginal. Work out room has a broken elliptical and the hotel is loud. I can always hear people in the hallway. If you need a place to stay and are in a pinch this will do. If you want a nicer hotel there are way more options for the same price. read more

Review based on a multiple night stay in March 2017 Good location in Old Town Clovis, though it's right on Clovis Ave which can be a little noisy. The rooms facing the walking trail have great views of the Sierra Nevada mountain range on a clear day (rare in the valley) and the top floor is quiet. The day and night desk staff, housekeeper, and shuttle bus driver were all genuinely friendly and helpful. The staff was definitely the highlight here. Rooms were clean--no bedbugs--but felt dated for a newer hotel. The quality of the building materials and workmanship was on the lower end. Shower heads are terrible and a style I'd expect to see in a 70's era home or cheap motel. The doors to the rooms are very loud when they close. The area around the vents in the halls were very dirty and should be cleaned. (see photo) Overall, for a room in this price range I expect better. The Wi-Fi is atrocious! It's advertised as high-speed, but I couldn't get more than 1.75-2MB download, regardless of the time of day. I had a room on the bottom floor and the top, the results were the same. It's also an annoying login process if you have an Apple device and you frequently have to forget the network and login again. These issues were brought up to the staff, but it didn't change the several nights I was there. Apparently, they changed to a new internet provider the week prior. Hopefully they address this soon. read more

AVOID ROOM 116. My wife and I came here for our first overnight getaway in a very long time. We paid almost $200 for a king suite with a whirlpool. The room itself was great, the issue was room 116 shares it's south wall (the wall the headboard is on) with the "Fire Sprinkler Room." All night we were serenaded by a high pitched droning noise and consistent bumps and thumps coming through the wall. After a sleepless night I mentioned it to the front desk who's response was "sorry for the inconvenience." Needless to say, our stay here could have turned into yearly getaway tradition but now we will probably take our stay elsewhere. read more

Well, you know youre in Clovis when you pay $130 and get a GIANT jacuzzi tub with jets next to your King bed with lots of pillows (soft on one side, firm on the other). Two people fit very, very comfortably. I can hardly get a Motel 6 room in Walnut Creek for that price! We generally don't spend that much on a room (about half that is what I aim for), but we were in town for a wedding and the groom would be staying here the next night so it was a good pick for us, too. And given the small price difference between rooms, the king suite was an amazing choice. Lots of room to get ready (important before a wedding!) Full length mirrors (also important!) A nice size bathroom with 2nd tub and shower. Huge flat screen that swivels to tub and bed directions. Microwave, coffee, and fridge. AND a very, very comfortable bed. We used the fitness center both days we were there. Tiny, but we enjoyed getting our 15 minutes in. The pool was horribly cold. I mean it: Horribly!!! Oh, but that reminds me about towels... the in-room towels were baby soft! How often do you get stuck with some nasty, rough, old towel? Even once is too often. These were wonderful. Please think of the environment and reuse your towels! The walls are paper thin. We heard TVs and slamming of doors all night. I say "we" but once I'm asleep I hear nothing. Kept poor hubby up though. Hot breakfast is served from 6-9a.m. If you don't intend to get up that early, perhaps someone will burn their toast and set off the fire alarm, like happened to us. But I didn't mind because it got me up in time for eggs. After breakfast we took the two-block walk to downtown Clovis. LOTS of antique stores and even a free museum you should check out. We were allowed to do late checkout - but we had to ask a second person after the first one told us no. Hey, doesn't hurt to keep asking. Helped in our case. We were able to keep our room until 2, which was when the groom was to be arriving. They sell snacks and drinks here but nothing substantial. Nearby we found pizza. Laughed at a drive-thru sushi stand!!! Also not far was CVS where we bought bubbles for the bath ($2) - the hotel should sell this! I cleaned the mostly-clean tub first and then filled 'er up! So relaxing. If you like cats, lots of feral ones seem to scavenge the dumpster. Don't go near it; too sad. The parking lot for this (rather small) hotel seemed well-lit and safe. And inside it was very nice - especially in the breakfast room. Ice cold water is available in the lobby and front desk was very friendly. Overall, very happy with the stay. PS - Don't overuse bubbles when youre getting in a hot tub with jets :) Or do... that's kind of fun too! read more

Booked a single queen room for my Christmas weekend stay. The overall Hotel was ok, Breakfast was ok (they served the same food 2 days in a row), the staff seemed friendly and the rooms were clean and appears newly updated. Problems were 1.) the heater/ac unit was too loud and it woke me up every few hours as it kicked on. 2.) One of my cards didn't work, i'm glad my wife and I only needed to use one of the two cards. 3.) The WiFi is horrible! It is probably the worst I've ever experienced at any Hotel. It kept connecting and disconnecting and the speeds were so slow my phone's LTE connection was faster but I'm on a limited data usage so I was hoping to use their stupid wifi on our tablet, obvious that didn't work. If the hotel intends to keep me as a customer when I visit Fresno/Clovis, they need to understand today is 2015/2016 and stop being so cheap on the WiFi usage. So customer can't use Netflix or other streaming services in their room. They probably are doing that so you'll have to PAY money to watch movies while you stay there. read more

Getting worse. We've stayed here many times because they have direct bill with our company. Every time we're here something is not working. Maintenance seems to be an after thought. This time it was the television and internet in our room. We asked to have a different room and we were denied. We will not be back and will encourage the company to set employees up elsewhere. There is no excuse for not even caring and that's how they came across this time. The staff used to be excellent, so we put up with the substandard maintenance, but that staff is gone now. read more

This is a very terrible place to stay. First when I got to the room there was no soap or shampoo and conditioner. Then for the pull out bed there were no blankets and there was pieces of popcorn all over it. Breakfast was supposed to be at 6am and it wasn't ready til 6:30am. And lastly they charged me $250 because they said I was smoking in the room and I don't smoke at all. I called and spoke with a manager who was very rude and refused to do anything about it and all she said was to call my bank to dispute the charge. The rooms were clean and the bed/pillow comfortable enough. The "breakfast" was a joke. Nothing but bread. If you need gluten free or if you watching your carbs you're screwed. For almost 200.00 a night for a room they certainly could do better. First and last time staying here. read more

We only stayed here because we were in town for a wedding and the Best Western were we had stayed the first 2 nights was for booked. However I wish we had stayed here all 3 nights. When I made the reservations over the phone Brian was energetic, polite and helpful. We wanted to get an early check in and he made sure it was happened. The rooms were wonderfully roomy, clean and had everything you would need and more. If there was something you needed I am sure Brian would have personally ran to a store to get it for you. I was really nervous about booking a room in CA. After a lot of research I decided to stay at the Comfort Suites in Clovis. We arrived super late to check into our rooms and was praying they still had our reservation. Walking into the lobby we were greeted by the most friendliest staff member. The check in process was speedy and she got our keys in hand within 5 mins. The room was in excellent condition and complimentary breakfast was decent. What a deal! I was very impressed here... customer service was great, room was great, location was great.. The rooms are very big and modern. The beds and pillows are very comfortable which I can't say often about a hotel - I slept like a baby! The breakfast was good - decent selection. There is a lot of parking, and there is a dirt lot right next to it making it RV/truck-friendly. My only minor complaint is that the shower water pressure was pretty bad... Otherwise, I'd definitely stay here again next time I'm in the area. read more

Our two recent stays here were okay - it's a pretty quiet hotel and in a good, central location. However, we were really bugged to see that the hotel was under construction when we showed up. No mention of that was made on the website at the time of the reservation. It wound up not being a huge deal - we never heard a thing - but it seemed awfully sneaky to not let guests know beforehand. What really pissed us off is that the construction workers at the hotel took all the prime guest parking each night, so the actual PAYING guests had to park farther away from the doors. Real nice. I hope we're a little richer next time we come to Clovis, because I'd rather stay at La Quinta. read more

THE WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!!!!!!! A friend & I stayed here for four nights with our children. The room fees were charged multiple times. We spent a huge amount of our time in the lobby fighting with the staff to have the erroneously charged fees reversed. Tuesday night we spent and hour and a half to have an overcharge of $237 reversed. This inconvenience resulted in not being able to take the kids to dinner. The following day, Wednesday, we spent over 4 hours in the lobby reversing $700 in over charges. The next day, Thursday, we spent at least 3 hours to have another $237 over charged reversed. After taking time off work and spending the time and money required for traveling nobody should have to spend their vacation time fighting to get their money from a hotel claiming their "system" is mistakenly putting through charges. If you choose to stay here, my advice to you........ Keep a close eye on your bank account read more

I highly recommend staying at the comfort Inn suites. 1 king sized bed for 1 night cost about 138$ but they really work with you to get a discount. The lobby was very clean and organized and had refreshment's and a T.V. plus a computer for all guest available 24/7 Walking in I had been greeted by the front desk assistant, service was very fast and efficient. Breakfast was servied from 7 a.m to 10 a.m on the weekends. They have waffles, cereals, fruits and hot coffee...ect. The room we stayed in was clean and spacious the tv was a bit small but good enough for me. The air conditioning was super cold!! But you have complete control over the temperature. The couch in the room had a slight smell. Other rooms were very quite no noise for most of the night. The only problem was the orange carpet in the halls could have been changed. But other then that the room and hotel was very good. Highly recommended for a night. read more

I have enjoyed staying at this location for many years. The hotel and staff were completely fine. Unfortunately, I had two separate reservations that complicated my stay. One was for business and then I extended an extra night for personal. I attempted to make the front desk aware of my special circumstances but to no avail. On my final night, they tried to put another patron into my room at 3:30 am. And when the other patron attempted to enter my room twice and failed, the front desk attempted to use keys to enter my room. Needless to say, they ruined my night sleep. I left notice at checkout for a manager to contact me but none did. I contacted the hotel a week later and informed the manager and was told they would comp the room for that night. The charges were never reversed and I've lost a decent hotel to visit. As a business person, I hate negative reviews, but this one is deserved. read more

The room was super clean. It was noisy you can hear people above you and also in the hallway. Stayed here Oct. 5th, 2017 with my mom and my two kids (3 yr old & 5 mos). The location was great and easily spotted. Upon arrival the guy at the front desk was kind of quiet didn't really smile but he still helped me with my check in just fine. He was also very informative told me about the wifi, the dining area,breakfast times and nearby eateries. I wanted a lower floor but all that was available was on the 4th floor. There are only 4 floors. Upon arrival to the room it was roomy, didn't look like the pictures but it was still nice. King size bed and a couch of a full size pull out bed. There was also a weird see through divider that really didn't need to be there but it wasn't a deal breaker. Microwave and mini fridge were all awesome amenities especially traveling with 2 kids. The bathrooms looked newly renovated.The TV and little desk were nice as well. A/C worked great and king size bed was too firm for my liking but nice. The pull out bed was super soft which I didn't mind also. The room over all was very nice. The breakfast: started at 6:00 am.. went to check it out at about 7:00 am and to my surprise it wasnt busy at all, usually in all of the hotels that I have stayed at with free breakfast it is always busy and the good stuff is already gone. But not this place :) Breakfast: Coffee-juice-water-milk Scrambled eggs(loved the eggs)-bacon Danishes,mini muffins,bagels,English muffin, waffles Greek Yogurt,hard boiled eggs, Variety of fruits Cereal They also offered to go grab bags complimentary to all the guests: The bag had: An apple Small bottle of water Breakfast bar Mints Snack bar area: they also sold some extra stuff Snacks Hygiene products Medicine Energy drinks Stuff you may have forgotten. Booked the hot tub room. Concierge was very unhelpful when I asked to add my BF's name to the room in case I couldn't make it to check in first. The front clerk was sleeping when we walked in. We held a loud conversation as a joke to see how long will it take him to wake up... Took about 5 mins. The light bulb to our room's walkway went out. We called front desk but nothing was promised or done about it. The jet stream to the tub didn't work. You can hear people's conversations in the hallway in the morning maybe because our room was near the front desk. I won't be returning. read more

If you're looking for an affordable hotel then this is the place. I've stayed here several times in the past two years and haven't had any problems. The staff is friendly and accommodating and breakfast is provided. However a few times the floors were sticky and I felt like the bathtub wasn't clean. Also I learned the hard way that if you stay on any other floor then the top you will hear EVERYTHING. Overall the stay is comfortable and any problems you have will be fixed asap. read more
