Came here a month ago for a family reunion in Clovis. When I arrived I thought I had made a big mistake because the outside from the street view looks crappy. Once you see the rooms you are surprised by how clean and spacious they are. They looked like they were recently renovated. I got a room with 2 beds and it was a nice room with enough space to relax. My uncles each got a room with a single bed and they enjoyed their room a lot. There's even had a medium sized fridge and a kitchen. We just stayed a couple nights. The breakfast was ok. We got some bread and some coffee and juice. This hotel is good for short stays. They also have a pool, soda machine and ice machine. And of course cable which my uncle liked because he is a big sports fan. Check this place out. read more

Before staying here, I read all the reviews, and picked it for its convenient location in laid back Clovis, just close enough to Fresno without being there. What a pleasant surprise when I opened the door to my room following a long, tiring ride in the wind. Nicely appointed, super clean, with all the amenities including aromatic Pomona soaps in the bath; kitchenette, granite counter tops, big closet. A half block away on the same side of the street, are little boutiques and plentiful restaurants, including the 'Barnyard Shopping Center'. Commuter traffic died down on Clovis Avenue about 7pm, so had a quiet night's sleep. Being able to park the motorcycle right outside the room was a big plus in a well lit parking lot was a big plus, and only 2.5 miles to Fresno BMW for folks driving in to get serviced. I've stayed at America's Best Value Inn's from Rock Springs, Wyoming to Susanville, California. With its updated rooms and Route 66-style parking right outside the room, this family-operated motel is in the top tier of the concession and its class. read more

Won't be staying here again. The only thing good about this place is location. I've stayed here multiple times but this will be our last. Walked in and there were bugs crawling all over the floor by the counter. In the bathroom were 2 cockroaches. Checked the cabinets and there were some crawling around and a few dead ones. Checked our bed and pillows to be sure and thank god there were none there. Door doesn't have a seal at the bottom to keep bugs out, so there's one issue. Me and my husband got a room for a Saturday night (total $87). The woman at the front desk was nice but our room was incredibly dirty. Old food stuck to the cupboards and splatters on the walls. My husband and I stay here every time we come to Fresno to visit the family, which is usually around the holidays. It's been 3-4 years now. The couple that owns/runs the joint is extremely nice and accommodating. We love that each room has a kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave & stovetop burners. Granted, we never cook but if we needed to we could. After reading a few other reviews, I must say a few things. First of all, booking directly through the front desk is recommended, they honor AAA discount & would probably give you their best price anyway without it. They will remember you when you come back too. Although rooms have always been clean, We have noticed a random piece of scotch tape on wall or tissue paper in garbage left behind from some previous guest, not ideal but not a big deal either considering the price paid. This motel was the surprise of my visit to Clovis for work. Owner operator couple at front desk and the rooms Were remodeled and by far larger Thani expected. Great alliances and stove top in room and quiet and comfortable with great wireless. This is the second least expensive motel in town because I was Trying to save the Client money but this will be my first choice next time I come up as well. We stopped here on the way to Vegas, and because it was close to the strip club, City Lights. I made the reservations on the road, got the room for $78 and was very surprised. In all honesty, it was in better condition, larger, cleaner, and more comfortable than our deluxe room at the Mirage (oh that review is coming, trust me). Very clean, newly remodeled, complete kitchen, nice flat screen TV mounted on the wall, parking lot was well lit and clean, and they had a small pool as well. I would definitely stay here versus the airport inn's nearby. We travel to Fresno often and we will try them again as long as they keep it up. read more

Nice place - we had three rooms for two days - very reasonable. Clean and you can park right next to your room. Huge kitchen in each room. Newly remodeled, has a pool. Update - we've stayed here two more times, still clean, still nice. If you're going to the Calif State Track and Field Championships at Buchanon high in Clovis, this is the place to stay. It's a five minute drive to the School and also 5 minutes or so to many restaurants on Shaw Ave. read more

Stayed here once before, so came back when I needed to stay in Clovis, CA again. Still impressed with the room, and the price. The hotel looks dated from the street because of the architecture, but it is well worth checking out. The rooms are all updated, clean, and as nice as any Marriott we've stayed in. The cost for a queen room was only $79, and went down to $67 after joining the value club. Larger fancier hotels charge far more for rooms that aren't any nice than what this small place offers. Neither of the times we've stayed here have we seen or had any problems with bedbugs, as others have discussed. Give it a try, you'll be pleasantly surprised! read more

Stayed here for 2 nights. The room was spacious, nice, and clean. We had a kitchenette and everything was pretty modern and up to date. I called twice for a roll-out bed and they said they didn't have any more. I even put it in as a request when booking so I figured they would have had one saved for us but I guess not. Spacious, I'll give one star for that. Bathroom had missing tiles and the door had never been painted...water marks and grime all over the bathroom door. I opened one of the cabinets in the kitchenette and a roach ran out. It's unclear if they are in the midst of a remodel or what. Filled nail holes on every wall and spots on the ceiling that were painted over. The staff was pleasant, the location decent, but it should have been no more than $50 a night. We stayed in a queen kitchenette room just for a night (made reservations last-minute and it was the cheapest option). The location is nice, definitely was easy to get to my job interview the next day and in an easy location for all of your needs. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and nice, to the point where we could joke around with them and all have a good laugh. I have to say when I first pulled up I was a bit worried about how the place looked on the outside, but my worry was for nothing. The room was very spacious; the bathroom alone put some of the apartments I've lived in to shame. The place was a little shabby; there was chipped paint, the closet door was crooked so it didn't close all the way, and the chairs had some small rips from average wear-and-tear. But the room was still clean and honestly I liked it. It was a relief to have a room with good lighting and fans and A/C when the last few hotels I stayed at did not. Oh, bed was comfy but not the best I've slept in...but I've also spent many days taking naps on cement floors so I'm not sure how well I can be trusted for bed recommendations. If you needed to stay here for a little while (like if you're between homes) the kitchen seemed very nice and impressed me. My only complaints would be having to listen to the fridge at night (we put food in it, so it noisily cooled itself while I was trying to fall asleep) and the 'kitchen' sink didn't work (my fiance thinks the water was shut off). I didn't try the stove, but I do know the microwave worked and was fine for us. The television also had all of our favorite stations so that was a plus. We also didn't try the pool or really do so much as look at it so can't I speak about that. We had some noisy neighbors on one side so that was a bummer, but past the noise issues really I had a nice stay and was quite pleased with our choice. I would stay here again. I feel like I got a nice room for the price, even if it wasn't perfect. I actually liked this room more than rooms I've had at fancier and nicer-looking hotels that charged more than what we paid for this room. read more

Found this place on Hotels.com, picked it because it was 10 minutes away from the Savemart Center where I was attending a concert. The desk clerk was very sweet. The room was clean and had a small kitchenette which came in very handy when you're on a budget. There is a lot to do in the surrounding area and plenty of food places. The rooms came with a fast working air-conditioning unit, large spacious areas, and the ceiling fan. There were many lights in parking lot and there was a beautiful crystal blue pool. They said they had no record of the cancellation. I sent them a copy of the email of the cancellation. It has been 8 days and they have yet to refund my money. I gave this place three stars for a few reasons, which to me seems to be an alright rating considering this is a hotel that probably many wouldn't stay at. 1) My girlfriend checked in hours before I got there and told me that we got a free newspaper every morning, free pastries, and free coffee. 2) The room was not that bad!!!! The room was respectable and had a kitchenette and was updated to modern standards. 3) The surrounding area was decent. Never felt like my girlfriend and I were in any danger...again another surprise for the quality of the hotel. 4) Free WiFi Now for the cons: 1) Cigarette burns in the sheets....never a good thing. 2) Water pressure was very weak. 3) The room, although nice, was still a little dirty. 4) No matter how surprised I was with this room...it is still an Americas Best Value Inn...not exactly my first choice in hotel names. 5) Definitely saw some characters staying in other rooms...not that they posed any threat but definitely people who looked a little suspicious at first glance. In summary, I would probably stay here again...but again not my first choice. DISGUSTING. We couldn't even stay there...we checked in, looked at the room, and went back downstairs to check out. It was worth it to be stuck in central CA with four kids and no place to stay than to risk staying in this place. The front desk was extremely rude...we did not get the kitchen we'd paid for (just a microwave), the "pool" is the size of a hot tub, and the area is so bad that the kids were afraid to get out of the car. BEWARE. Not worth the savings...you get what you pay for, but in this case, you get less. read more

I found this place on booking.com seen the photos they had put up it looked decent showed my hubby' and my kids they all said ok so I booked it we pulled up to a mess the outside is all faded and dirty the sidewalks had what looked like some one was having diarrhea all down the walkway I thought what ever hopeful it's better on the inside.....I WAS WRONG as soon as walked in the lobby I had instant bits from fleas.. In town for a water polo tournament, this was one of the most affordable options in town. We were pleasantly surprised at how clean and spacious our rooms were. We rented two rooms. Stayed 1/8/19 bathroom had some food and dirt in a corner, but it wasn't until 1/9/19 we noticed we weren't alone in our room....ROACHES appeared...we left, NO REFUND...no manager on duty. We went down the street to stay in a pest free room. Eventually I did get a call from the manager, he said he has a pest management company (well they aren't doing a good job) and he said he would refund a portion of the second night stay ($24.81)....not even a third of the price! We stayed at this hotel on 7-16-16 first of all the tv did not work we had to contact the front desk to come fix the tv. There was guys sitting outside as if they lived there drinking alcohol which made it uncomfortable for us. The worst part is the roaches! We were killing bugs the entire night in the bathroom and on the wall and they were definitely roaches! When checking out in the morning my boyfriend explained to them How unpleasant our stay was and requested a refund or a partial refund and was told the payment was already processed and he was not able to give him a refund, which is unfair he should have been refunded! We would never step foot in that hotel again it was the most uncomfortable stay we have ever experienced. Super dirty!! read more

The employees must've wrote them because this place is HORRIBLE! Worst hotel experience I've had ever. I had to call the police to ensure no opportunities for additional issues could or would happen. 1. When arriving after booking a FR-SA night weekend stay paid in advance via Hotels.com. After several minutes staring at the office cashier I was told they only had a room for 1 night. I had to prove otherwise. 2. During this time a new guest came in room key didn't work. My key did not work either. 3. I walked from back of property to office to have key reprogrammed. It worked. 4. I went for a walk came back key didn't work. I had to walk back again. This time I was escorted back to my door where the person used another master key and on the way another guest complained key didn't work. 5. I finally got back into my room to find the TV did NOT work. I then called...the phone cord connector was broken so it pulled out of the phone. The owner came to my room to tell me I do not understand technology..I'm ex tech CEO then that I was not welcome there after telling him I'm surprised the guests are not running from this place. This place was horrible. Long story short; cockroach infestation. My family and I refused to spend the night at this particular hotel. When I went in the bathroom it was swarming with roaches. Two on the bathroom floor and 5 in the shower. Even when I tried to dry my hands with their own paper towels another cockroach ran out of the roll. I do not recommend this place at all.
