    Definitely an updated Hampton Inn but a great stay. I got in late on an evening and just had a quick overnight. Unfortunately, I had issues with the room key and the key available through the app that required me to go down to the front desk three times. The check-in guy was understanding and helpful. The rooms were clean and modern looking. The breakfast was almost identical to any other Hampton Inn I've been to, but it had a great spread. If you find yourself in the area, there aren't too many hotels available, but this one is a great stay.

    UPDATE: They did resolve the incident with me and gave me what I deserve within 72 hrs. But what's done is done, so take it as a lesson. I made a prepaid reservation at Hampton Inn Selma and received a confirmation email, assuming everything was set. However, on the day of check-in at 3:00 PM (the standard check-in time), the hotel manager tried to call me and asked me to confirm the reservation within one hour, or it would be cancelled. Unfortunately, I was hiking in Sequoia National Park at the time and had no cell signal, so I never saw the call. When I finally left the park around 9:00 PM and checked my phone, I found an email saying that my reservation had been cancelled. No additional follow-up, no waiting, no understanding of the situation. The manager cancelled my fully paid reservation without my authorization. I was left scrambling to find a hotel late at night during Memorial Day weekend, when almost everything was already sold out. We ended up paying much more for a terrible motel--an experience far below what we had expected. When I contacted the hotel, the manager admitted it was their mistake due to overbooking. Yet, the only compensation they offered was a refund and 25,000 Hilton Honors points, which is less than a free night, I originally paid 224 for a 2 queens room. That's insulting, especially considering we had to pay double the original price for a far worse experience. This whole situation caused a lot of stress, inconvenience, and ruined what should have been a relaxing evening. I've stayed with Hilton many times before, but this incident seriously damaged my trust in the brand. I will continue to escalate this with Hilton until there is a fair resolution. It's honestly laughable that they still sent me a follow-up email asking, "How was your stay?"

    Came for one night, did not have a jacuzzi tub in room as perceived on the site. The front desk…read moregirl was polite but not accommodating. Then, I decided to use the outdoor jacuzzi, changed into my suit, and stepped into an ice bath. Same front desk girl said they've been having problems with it but that maintenance went home. Also, no manager on site. When asked for an upgraded room due to inconvenience, there were no accommodations even though we were only there for a night. Very, very disappointed and this ruins La Quinta's future stays for us. This is the Fowler La Quinta by the way. I'm sure not all are like that so please don't judge all La Quinta's. However, we will not be returning to any.

This hotel is convenient to the 99 and there are several eateries within walking distance. I arrived right at sunset and was greeted walking in by the front desk, checking in was straight forward and easy. Third floor a comfortable king room with a large seating area and pullout sofa. The bathroom area spacious and well lit, clean and bright with plenty of hot water in the morning. USB plug ins everywhere around the room made charging devices easy. Along with the standard amenities one expects to find while on the road. 3.5 Stars rounded up for professional and kind front desk staff. 00920
