Hotel was clean. We've been on the road for 10 days & stayed at other Hampton Inns. Front desk person was snarky to my husband when he asked if there was a possibility to check in an hour early. We could not. Ok, didn't need to be rude. Breakfast cook was rude when asked if they would have gravy to go on top of the biscuits. I was putting my trash in the trash can & she offered no "safe travels", "have a nice day" - nothing. Definitely not the standards we encountered in other Hampton Inns. read more

Quick college visit and we were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Upon entering the lobby, it is very welcoming and has a full open coffee bar that also consists of hot water for hot chocolate or teas. Lots of pops of color and greenery. Our king suite was spacious and had plenty of room for 4 adults and a toddler. There was a small gym that had the basics and did the job. There's a cute indoor pool and hot tub. They provide a complimentary breakfast which was very clean and kept up with. Loved the ability to make your own waffles and we lucked out and had banana bread waffles as an option and they were packed with banana flavor and we so fluffy. Loved that there's so many options of toppings and sauces. Lots of cereal choices, toast, pastries. Had a choice of boiled or scrambled eggs. Yogurts. Oatmeal, Biscuits, gravy and sausage. Plenty of comfortable seating and staff was super sweet. I overheard one lady assist someone to their table. We definitely need more people like her that truly care. read more

Husband and I stayed here for our trip to Big Ben and this hotel was great! The rooms were clean and the restrooms were clean as well. The hobby smelled amazingly clean and it looked well maintained. We've stayed here before but this time it was even better than the rest. We enjoyed the free breakfast buffet im the morning. They had great options something for everyone! I really enjoyed the seasonal food they had as we stayed during thanksgiving weekend they had the pumpkin spice waffles as an option and they had cookie night where you got to eat some cookies and enjoy some coffee it was great! I didn't give it a five star because the shower water was tricky to get right. It was either really hot or really cold. We didn't say anything to the front desk because we were too tired but maybe if we would've said something they would have fixed that for us. Definitely coming back! read more

I have ZERO complaints. The rooms are clean and up to date. The rooms include a microwave and a minifridge. The staff are very friendly. The parking lot is safe, and the location is convenient. Chose to stay at this hotel because we are Hilton Honors members and have the Hilton AmEx card. We did get an upgraded room but only because our room was not ready at 2:49 pm and would not be ready for a 3:00 pm check-in. There was breakfast and it was decent, considering the places to eat in town. They had cookies and sodas and beer/seltzers at 5:00 pm every night as well. On the second day, there was no room service, had to go retrieve fresh towels from the front desk. The third day, it was mentioned that the trash needed to be emptied and we got room service that day. The shower was broken as the water temperature could not be regulated, it's either cold or scalding hot. This was mentioned to the front desk and nothing happened. The pool and jacuzzi were closed for maintenance which is odd as it's the off season and it was chilly and they are both indoors. We only stayed Sunday through Wednesday but we would not stay here again as the entire town seems to be extremely lackadaisical about time and respect for others time. If we visit the area again, we will probably stay in Fort Davis or Fort Stockton as there are more places to stay and dining is more readily available. read more

The lobby was clean and smelled nice. However check-in was at 3 and we waited about an hour and a half to get in our room The room was clean and smelled nice the bed wasn't that great. We had connecting rooms and the ac in one room didn't work The pool, hot tub, spa and fitness room were all out of service at the same time. Stayed here for four nights over spring break. Nothing special, but no complaints either. The rooms were spacious and clean, if a little worn. The beds were comfy, although the mattresses were a bit firm for my taste. The breakfast was above average, at least if you get there before they run out of stuff. This was one of my favorite hotel experiences of all time. At a Hampton Inn in a small town? YES! First off, it is affordable if you are desiring a location close to big bend national park. It's a little over an hr drive to the park depending on which entrance you take. What makes this place great? They are just so darn nice! Upon checking in you get goodies, breakfast is FREE, and has a lot of variety. You get the default breakfast meats and eggs, but the juice variety is plentiful, and they offer smoothies to take in ready to go cups. There is fresh fruit and 2 type of waffle makers with different batters, my favorite being the cinnamon roll! Upon departing they give you another goodie bag! FREE PARKING TOO! read more

Its your typical Hampton Inn setting but the staff are who make the hotel what it is. We were greeted with a warm and welcoming introduction to what the hotel and the surrounding areas of Alpine had to offer. The front desk attendant was eager to help us out and she always gave us the greeting of the day. Location was a little far from Big Bend National Park but the charm of the city made up for it. The breakfast was impeccable. They were very conscious of health offering yogurt fruit smoothies, fresh pressed juice and egg white frittatas and plenty of fruit. The bed was very comfortable, it really did feel like sleeping on a cloud. The view from the hotel was amazing, you could see the sun set over the hills. We also enjoyed the warm pool and hot tub.  The bathtub was very creaky for some reason, I felt like I was waking up the entire hotel when I moved in the shower. The first guy who greeted us could have been a bit more chipper to see us but who knows, maybe he was just tired that night because the next day we saw him, he was much more friendlier. read more

We loved this Hampton location. Everything was clean and well-maintained. We requested a room away from the elevator on a higher floor, and got one. Our room was well insulated and very quiet; we didn't hear our neighbours on either side of us. We were pampered here. Complimentary fresh-baked cookies, fresh coffee and iced tea yesterday afternoon. This morning, complimentary full breakfast with treats such as fresh waffles, yogurt, cut fruit, hard-boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, biscuits and sausage. Their robust coffee was pretty good, too. My children loved the indoor pool and hot tub, happily spending great swaths of time in them. Actually they are there right now, determined to stay in right up until our noon check-out time. read more

Welcome to Alpine, TX! We thought the Hampton Inn would be one of nicest hotels in Alpine, but we were sorely mistaken. We were met at the front desk by a creepy guy with a matted down painted on wave of a haircut. Not to throw down accusations, but the dude looked like a pedi, and he winked at my girlfriend when we walked away. The same creepster came into the indoor pool a while later, asked how were were doing, entered the pool equipment closet/room for about 5-7 minutes, then exited without looking at us. The pool was less than adequate. Floating in and on the surface of the water were long brown strands of hair everywhere. The hot tub was cold, about 50 degrees, with dead bugs floating in it. Not to mention it was brown in color and looked like Bigfoot just bathed in it. There were what appeared to be local kids and teens wandering around the outside waiting for an opportunity to sneak in. Through the walls, and across the rooms we could hear everything, including what sounded like a dysfunctional family with irritating loud children. The air conditioning was not working very well as we slept in our own sweat. A functional AC unit is very important in TX were the ambient temperature outside compares to Mogadishu. There aren't too many hotels in Alpine that appear to be clean without lot lizards hanging around outside, but before you decide to shack up at the Hampton, check out the few other options. This Hampton Inn is just ok, pool is out of service and AC Is not great in the room. We kept the AC on 60 Just so it would keep the room cool. The bathroom faucet was backwards - cold on the left and hot on the right. How does this happen? Breakfast bar is good with cheerful servers. A perfect place to stay if you want business support. This location has one of the better business centers I've used. All computer work and there are office supplies available ! This is great when putting together a presentation at 4am. This hotel is newer and set on the perimeter of Alpine. It makes for a quiet location. read more

For the most part it was a great stay. I just have a small amount of nitpicking things that my OCD self picked up on. Lol The bad: 1. The room had a faint sewer smell by the end of the couch. 2. The pool area was not stocked with towels for both days we were in there. 3. There was various bits of trash laying around on the outside landscaping. 4. The first two nights we were there, there was loud banging and conversation that sounded to me like employees at 5am ish in the outside hallway that lasted for a good 15 min. The great: Other than the bad above, the stay was great. They have a managers reception from 5pm-7pm that was really cool and appreciated. They had free cookies and other snacks and drinks (beer included. ) The lounge was very comfortable. They also have a pretty decent breakfast that is included with the stay. All said I will definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone for a comfortable stay for a moderate price. read more

Check in was fast. Staff was very welcoming. We only stayed for 1 night in room 225. After reading previous reviews we really wanted to stay on the top floor to avoid noise issued from floor above. Unfortunately, we could only get a second-floor room. Room was nice and clean. We were very impressed with it. However soon after we realized why the third floor was recommended by so many. We could here every footstep the floor above was taking. It was loud! Only other problem we ran into that night was the refrigerator in the room seemed to be running a little loud for us. The night was spent with us having trouble sleeping with the noise combination from above and the refrigerator in the room. Our room was on the highway side, we could not hear any noise from it all night. The breakfast was very tasty. Waffles, oatmeal, cheese omelets were very good. The checkout experience was fast. All in all, we would stay here again, only if we for sure got a third-floor room. read more

$99 per night for two nights of lodging. Very friendly staffs working the front desk and breakfast bar. Our room was large and clean. It had a king size bed, sofa, writing table, microwave, and refrigerator. The bathroom was also large and clean. The hotel provided free wi-fi, free breakfast, and all day coffee / tea bar in the lobby. The breakfast was excellent with large varieties of offerings. Happy hours from 5 to 7 p.m. nightly with free beer, wine, and snacks. There is also a gym and business center. My only complain was free USA Today newspaper was not available in the lobby during breakfast. Maybe because Alpine is such a small town therefore USA Today is not distributed there. My family and I have stayed here a couple of times and this location is always clean and quiet. On our last stay my daughter forgot her iPad. The staff was very accommodating in holding it for us until we returned a couple of days later. The gentleman at the front desk even gave her a chocolate chip cookie. I'm not sure what to give as a rating. We arrived Sunday after a long day of driving in hopes of getting a much needed rest for the week's adventures. However, we walked into a room with used towels and pillowcases. It was VERY obvious that it was "made up" but not thoroughly cleaned up. Manager resolved the issue. My family and I recently spent two nights at this hotel and it was one of the most enjoyable hotel experiences I've had in some time. The first thing I noticed upon entering was how light and airy and clean it was. It has a large, well-appointed, family friendly lounge area with coffee and ice water always available. In the afternoon there are a variety of complimentary snacks, water, soda and beer to choose from. I was pleasantly surprised by the complimentary breakfast which was well stocked and offered fresh made Belgian waffles with a choice of toppings. The rooms are spacious and clean and the beds are comfortable. The bathroom is a nice size and the shower has good water pressure and there was plenty of hot water. It was a pleasure to walk into a hotel room that smelled nice, was cool and well-lit and didn't require an immediate call to the front desk to ask for more towels. The staff is attentive and friendly. They recommend a restaurant in town called Reata and it's pretty good but they neglected to let us know we needed a reservation. Unless you enjoy eating a substantial meal on a patio in 100* heat, make a reservation. Really enjoyable experience and we will be back! read more

Great experience - clean rooms, big free breakfast, conveniently located to get to Marfa and Ft Davis - I dropped my ring down the sink in the room and they got it out for me! Pretty standard hotel honestly. There was some confusion with payment since I used Expedia and I still never really understood what happened. Staff seemed pretty friendly. Room needs updating. I got a king suite for my honeymoon and it was roomy for sure however the shower handle was broken. It became impossible to adjust the temperature. I couldn't have been more satisfied with our stay here. Everything was clean, and the staff were all very friendly. We were looking for a good day trip one day (we had been to Big Bend the day before), and one of the employees got a map and told us exactly where to go and even suggested a great restaurant in Marfa. She didn't steer us wrong on either count! We passed on the breakfast our first two mornings, but since we wanted to get an early start on the last day of our trip, we decided to try it. The Hampton Inn at Alpine is a lovely fairly new hotel -- maybe built in last 5 yrs. Very friendly staff. Great indoor heated pool & hot tub that our kids loved!! Very pleasant to swim even though in 30's or 40's outside! Also has full hot breakfast. I think they also have fresh baked cookies between 3&6p but we missed those. Rooms were very nice & clean. Overall great place to stop over on our trips out west. We will be stopping there again :) read more
