It's super cute. However, you need to know what you're getting. It was built in 1950. And has the same amenities. Teensy weird set up for a bathroom- probably we get two rooms now that used to have a shared bathroom. So, now there is a living space and a bedroom. The bedroom was nice and clean, comfy beds, decent pillow options. The tvs were weirdly hung with wires everywhere and just... poorly done. Plenty of lamps from the fifties with wires going down the walls. The shower was not terrible- lots of hot water, just hi g low and low water pressure. The high way noise is loud, but they know that, and offer ear plugs on the teensy side table thing. The art work is... interesting. We got courtyard room, you can check the video out. I'm on the front porch of our little cottage now, enjoying the awesome weather, good coffee, and bird chirping, even if there's cars whizzing by beyond the cedar fence. I enjoyed it! Oh, there's a fire pit that others enjoyed until about 10 pm, and we could hear them easily Inside, but not a huge deal. They went in or got quieter around 10:30ish. I do think I recommend it, but I don't think I'll stay here again. I prefer modern amenities and nicer finishes. Chipping and peeling paint just isn't something I expect when I'm paying these prices.

Great little place with friendly and helpful staff. Our room was cute and efficient. Overall, a very relaxed vibe. Staff is attentive. We liked some of the little touches like having some local coffee available in the room. Is it a four star hotel? No. It is a motor court. Yes. It is a cute and friendly and comfortable motor court.

3.5 stars This place is eclectic.... it was one of the few places in town that had reasonable prices and an extra suite (we were sleeping 2 and 3 people). The lady at the front desk was friendly and had apologized that she was on another call when we got there. The front office had a few gift items, T-shirts, fair trade chocolate, and booze for sale. The bathroom was unfortunately the size of a small closet, with no where to hang anything or set anything down (with a little touch of mildew in the shower). Also, there were no plug in's in there, so if you wanted to curl your hair, you'd better do it in the laundry room. We couldn't get the TV to pick up any channels (due to ongoing construction at the lodge). The best part were the open views and the firepit in the courtyard surrounded by twinkling, colorful lights. The bad part? We didn't bring any s'mores (of course, with how wet the wood had become it was a wonder that we had been able to actually light the fire). 2021 #22

I LOVE THIS PLACE! It's super clean. My room was spotless and the sheets/bed was extremely comfortable. The staff was kind and helpful...and very chill. As such, this is a perfect place to relax and kickback and just enjoy life at a slow pace. Additionally the lodge's cat was so friendly and wanted to hangout with me. This is my new 'go to' place when I'm in Far West Texas. I could have easily stayed there a month or two (if I had the time.) LOVE THIS PLACE!

Super cute place to stay!

This place is wonderful!! Each room is more like a little cottage, equipped with closets, a queen size bed, a kitchenette, microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker with coffee, tv, and a bathroom with shower. There's a courtyard with picnic tables and areas to bbq as well as a lounge center to hang out. Everyone here is extremely friendly & helpful. When I made my reservation with Jennifer, she was absolutely wonderful! I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in the area.

I'm not sure where to begin. I love this lodge!! My husband and I coordinated a group ride to Big Bend and a friend recommended we check out the Antelope Lodge. From our first contact with Jennifer regarding rates and dates she went above and beyond to earn our business. Just a few examples: she offered to purchase any and all groceries prior to our arrival, she knew we would be using her fire pit at night and had stacks of wood ready to go... stacks of kindling too! she opened the kitchen to us to make breakfasts and Easter dinner for our group. She mapped out rides for us to visit Terlingua and ride through Big Bend national park. If that wasn't enough she contacted friends at restaurants to coordinate our lunches while we were out riding. I just can't say enough about her customer service and how far she goes to make you feel at home. I've read a couple of Petty Betty reviews on here and all I can say is that we had a wonderful time. The rooms are older with a super retro vibe. It takes a minute for the hot water to get going in the shower but it gets hot and stays hot. This isn't a Marriott. It's a small quiet property for the less pretentious. I can certainly afford a fancy hotel (and good luck finding one out here ) but you'll never feel so welcome and at home as you will here. So thanks again Jenn... we'll be back next year!!!

Its white stucco façade rises with understated elegance, a study in regional restraint. Step inside, and the Western motif feels neither theatrical nor contrived--it is immersive. The interiors evoke a time when craftsmanship mattered and hospitality was tangible. That sense of authenticity is perhaps most charmingly embodied in the guest experience itself: upon check-in, visitors are handed an actual metal key. No plastic cards. No digital apps. Just the satisfying weight of tradition in your palm. My stay in a Balcony King room revealed generous proportions rarely found in contemporary boutique properties. The suite unfolded into a separate living area, creating a sense of residential calm rather than transient lodging. The design language is minimalist, layered with subtle Southwestern influences with warm tones, and textures that echo the surrounding landscape. The bed offered restorative comfort, while a thoughtful pair of earplugs placed bedside acknowledged Alpine's enduring rail presence. Trains still pass through town in the night, their horns sounding--a reminder that this hotel was born of the tracks and continues to exist in dialogue with them. Service is polished yet personal, with staff attentive both before arrival and throughout the stay. And location is paramount: The Holland sits squarely in the heart of Alpine, making galleries, cafés, and local storefronts effortlessly accessible on foot.

It was super convenient- we never even had to face any staff. Our keys were waiting for us at the door (Yes, that's pretty trusting but the location is also a bit hidden as we had to walk down a clean alley to get there) SIMPLE ACCOMMODATIONS Huge plus for having local Coffee at the counter as well as a microwave, mini fridge, and wifi. Also a collection of small snacks for the taking. A simple, sheer curtain divided the living room from the bedroom but also added an elegant feel to the minimalist appearance. Everything was clean and perfect for our stay. AND RATHER SPACIOUS It never felt cramped inside. That sheer curtain also works great, space miracles. We also liked how right outside the door was a small, vegetation-filled courtyard. It was a bit too chilly for us to take advantage of but it mentally made us feel very relaxed upon entering.

They provide snacks, WiFi and a great binder with information. The location is convient to pretty much everything in Alpine ( a lot within walking distance). However, I was extremely dissapointed and annoyed when I received my review back from the Guest Lofts. We came to Alpine to celebrate me turning 21. Im not a big drinker and therefore wanted to travel for my bday. I think my group and I were stereotyped and therefore received a negative review. Apparently we kept a family and their kids up all night long... First off we were on the outside which meant there was only one loft next to us. The first night we stayed there we had just drove 7 hours and didn't stay up past 10. The next morning when we woke up the only people in the loft next to us were one of the ladies that runs the guest lofts cleaning. We were told In the review we were too loud and didn't follow the rules. There is no possible way we kept anyone up all night long. We never stayed up past 12 and didn't wake up until 9. I didn't even finish a four pack of beer and one of the people in my group was sick. The only "kids" I saw were two preteens throwing knives at stuff in the courtyard. I take it Guest Lofts are not a fan of young adults. I think they could have handled the situation better and maybe talked to us in person or let us know there was supposedly someone staying next to us.

For starters, at check-in, they had the wrong room selection likely due to booking through 3rd party. I would call ahead to ensure they have the right information before arriving. The bathroom is tiny and just enough room for the door to open. The sink is on the outside and the mirror and lights were modern. The TV was big, but you have to manually switch the input on the TV to the right one for the remote to work. Cleanliness was fine. There is a train nearby that will blow its horn multiple times as it passes through town even at night. Not the hotel's fault and not exclusive to this place, but be aware. The breakfast is limited to scrambled eggs and sausage & biscuit or bacon. They also have waffle maker, oatmeal, yogurt, and muffins. The juice options are standard and the coffee is disgusting.
