If you're staying here, you are probably visiting Big Bend NP or SP, which means you do not have many options for lodging. This choice is passable if you aren't picky. For starters, at check-in, they had the wrong room selection likely due to booking through 3rd party. I would call ahead to ensure they have the right information before arriving. Luckily, they were able to put us in the right room. The room in question was decently sized for 2 queen beds. It had a feet smell upon walking in, which was gross but you get used to it. The bathroom is tiny and just enough room for the door to open. The sink is on the outside and the mirror and lights were modern. The TV was big, but you have to manually switch the input on the TV to the right one for the remote to work. Cleanliness was fine. There is a train nearby that will blow its horn multiple times as it passes through town even at night. Not the hotel's fault and not exclusive to this place, but be aware. The breakfast is limited to scrambled eggs and sausage & biscuit or bacon. They also have waffle maker, oatmeal, yogurt, and muffins. The juice options are standard and the coffee is disgusting. A passable breakfast. There is no gym equipment here either. I would probably not choose this place over Holiday Inn Express across the street, but it is an acceptable alternative. They did offer a longer cancellation period though. read more

Title: Terrible Experience with Service Dog and Unwarranted Charges I stayed at this hotel from May 30, 2025, to June 2, 2025, and I'm deeply disappointed by the treatment I received, especially when traveling with my service dog. At check-in, I disclosed that I had a service dog (not an emotional support animal) to the male manager. Everything seemed fine, but the next day, a female manager called my room, questioning me about having a "pet." After explaining it was a service animal, she insisted that I had not disclosed this at check-in, even though I clearly had. She then pressured me to share details about the service the dog provides, which I'm not required to disclose, especially in such an invasive manner. The situation escalated when I checked out. I asked the front desk clerk for a receipt and was told there were no charges on my stay, as it was fully paid through Chase Ultimate Rewards. However, two charges appeared on my credit card days later. I called the hotel, and after some back and forth, the charges were removed--only for a new $12 "hotel service fee" to be added days after that. I was never informed of this fee at any point, and I was lied to multiple times. The female manager explained the fee was "new," but she refused to reverse the charges. I feel like this was a blatant attempt to charge me for having a service animal, and I'm disgusted by the way I was treated. I will be disputing these charges with my bank and sharing my experience to warn others. This was not about the money--it's about being taken advantage of and mistreated. If you're traveling with a service animal, I would strongly recommend avoiding this hotel. ****update**** I disputed the $12 and was refunded the amount, but I found out through my bank that the hotel still gets to keep the money. Do not ever use or book this hotel they will charge you even if you cancel . They charged me $180.00 for 1 night that was canceled . I called and the lady told me to pound sand!!!!!!! This is not good for the customers do not trust them . I stayed at the Maverick hotel down the road for $129.95 a night they are great and fair priced . Very disappointed with this stay, and will not be returning. When we checked out of our hotel room, we were given a receipt. Well, apparently, I was given the wrong receipt and management took it upon themselves to authorize an additional charge on my account. I cannot help that your front desk made a mistake, but when you start authorizing charges beyond the final receipt I was given, that's unacceptable. Spoke with Jana (4 letters as she was sure to specify for me), and she had nothing to tell me accept this was standard. We take this trip every year, but will be sure to mark this stay off our list. I don't feel honoring the final receipt I was given is too much to ask, especially when I have no idea where the amount for the charge came from! Review #5 I am the kind of girl that is skeptical of inexpensive/discount hotels/motels in small towns. I had to find a place for my two dogs that were traveling with me so I searched for hotels that could accommodate that came with a decent price and a decent rating. I was still skeptical. When I arrived I couldn't be happier. Quality Inn sits in front of a scenic large mountainous type hill along the Main Street of Alpine. Located a couple hours away from Bend Bend Nation Park and Marfa. Bart at the front desk couldn't be more welcoming and accommodating. They do not have an elevator and all the bottom rooms rooms were taken (I should have noted we wanted a bottom room on the reservation). He looked in the system and mentioned that the handicap room was available and we could take it. We would only have to down size from a king size bed to a queen. But on the flip side that mean MUCH LARGER ROOM! Sold! Bart also gave us advice on where to dine in Alpine and the best time to see the Marfa Lights. Good. Thumbs up to Bart! The room was very clean and I was happy when I looked under the sheets and mattress and saw everything was spick and span. Hey, gotta do it. I am also a weirdo about bringing my own pillows - okay. The facility comes with these amenities: Pool, hot tub, free wifi, free breakfast, microwave and fridge, washing machine and dryer, office center, plenty of parking that is well lit at night, of course discounted shampoo, condition and all that jazz. I bring my own anyway. A lot for paying nickels and dimes. There is a pet fee of $20 per pet. The negative - but that wouldn't keep me from returning. The halls are WAYYYYY too fragrant. It is overkill with cleaning products or plugins, or whatever. It was a bit much, bring on the asthma attacks! Seriously guys, tone it down a bit. 4 stars, I'd be back if I need a place to stay on the area. read more

Stayed here because all hotels were about full. The 1st night was fine other than construction noise which did stop at 8PM. I also thought it weird that we were rented a room on the 2nd floor but not told there is not an elevator! Ok so we switched to a 1st floor room. The 2nd night around 11 or so my hubby said there is water coming through the light fixture in the bathroom ceiling. He got the clerk to come down and he said he would go look on the 2nd floor for the problem. He offered us half off our room. WTH. He never came back. The floor was flooded and soaking into the room carpet and the hallway. We had to pack and get out. We were not charged for that night. Finally found another room but this ruined the next day for us. I think they should have refunded the entire stay. read more

The location is has a parking lot so parking shouldn't be an issue. The inn has a small lobby with a couple couches. The counter is right next to the door and you can check in there upon entering. There are two entrances, one is the main entrance that leads to the lobby. The other leads to a stairwell that allows access to the rooms (this can be helpful if you are unloading your luggage, etc.) The room was pretty spacious. Not sure if every room is standardized, but ours was pretty nice. No complaints on the room or service. Staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast that comes with the room is pretty awesome. There are a variety of food and it isn't just a bunch of muffins and cereal, though they have those too :) Bonus: They have a pool if you want to swim. read more

This hotel was great for us (couple). We arrived Wednesday after a 7 hour drive, so we were pretty tired. We ate at the nearby diner, Penny's. The food there was ok. The hotel had great customer service. It was pretty busy and we were right near the stairs, so it was loud. The breakfast every morning was good (just your normal breakfast: eggs, sausage, cereal.) The staff was very helpful. This hotel put us 2 hours from Big Bend, so we did have a drive every morning, but it was fine for us. read more

The hotel was just ok. Very small tv in room. No carpet which is ok. The breakfast might have been half way good if they would have filled the empty containers. We were there for 2 mornings and both mornings the food trays were empty and the dining area was full of people. The person in charge should have been prompt to refill up until the time breakfast ended. Oh. And for the price we paid, $323 for two nights, we should have had a really fancy breakfast. read more

It looked good from the parking lot, we took room 119 for 2 nights. We got up for breakfast with a full schedule ahead us us, we own property in the area and needed to be in Alpine. I was in the breakfast area, even though my disability limits most foods, I was having juice and yogurt. My service dog was dressed in her service dog vest, bright red with her huge bright red service dog leash on. An employee with the name tag J.R. walked up to the table and informed me that I could not bring a dog into a place that serves food. When I tried to inform him of the Federal Law that allows service dogs, he continued to argue with me, which caused me to become rather I'll. I have suffered 3 strokes in the past year and half, I am disabled from injuries from an accident just over 2 years ago. I depend on my service dog for several task. Alpine Texas needs to be educated, we were also refused service at the hole in the wall, Lacasita restaurant in Alpine Texas Friday evening when we arrived in town hungry and tired. They refused to seat us, because I had a service dog. I suggested the Google up the Federal Law concerning Service dogs. I had in the past, referred Hundreds of customers to that greasy spoon, not because it was great food, but because of its long history of being perhaps the oldest restaurant remaining in business. This may not be a problem for most people, however it's a huge challenge for disabled customers when you are trying to get on with your life, stay in motels and eat out. My service dog is amazing. In restaurants, she naps. Never barks or disturbs any other customers. For disabled persons, we were given tables and allowed to eat with friendly service at the Alpine Penny's Diner and the Panda Express. Back to the Quality in, it did not offer quality. The toilet seat is sliding off, totally detached on one side, appears to have been broken long term, we reported it soon after check in. Just before check out Sunday, it's still broken. I took photos and walked to the front desk to show them how it looks since no one has come to replace it. At 10am, they had someone knocking on the door to repair it. Really? We are trying to pack out, I told them to wait until we are out, check out is at 11 am. Yesterday someone came in and took some of the towels that were used, yet they forgot to put in the clean ones along with other items. They did make up the bed Saturday. For a hundred dollars a night, you should expect a little more quality. In defense of the quality Inn, they do have polite front desk persons. An up date, we went by the front desk to turn in our key cards, check out after our 2 night stay. Andy who was manning the front desk was his very professional polite self, apologized for our issues. I told him to look for this review on yelp, that in defense of the Quality Inn, I had mentioned that the front desk had been polite. Before we could drive away, Andy came out on the parking lot with a receipt, he comped one night off of our charges. In spite of the issues,if they can train their staff, namely JR, and make some repairs,we would consider staying here again on our many trips to Alpine. I hope Alpine Texas will open their minds and doors to disabled people and their much needed Service dogs. read more

Great place to stay! The beds were the most comfortable of any hotel on our Grand Canyon vacation. Clean, comfortable rooms. Sweet staff. I accidentally left my clothing hanging bag in the closet but called when we got home and luckily it was placed in the lost and found and I asked the desk clerk if she would be kind enough to send it to me and she did.
