My Qx80 was involved in a minor accident and needed a bumper and grill replacement and a minor hood repair. We took our vehicle in for an initial estimate with them and a repair date was scheduled a month down the road. We brought our car in at the appointed time. Mike, the owner called me once tear down was complete and estimated 2 weeks for the repair. They also had some warranty work they needed to correct on some prior damage. We were in a rental car through USAA. As time went on, we were told our car was "in production" over and over again. As insurance companies do, they only approve the rental car for the estimated amount of initial repair time (2 weeks). USAA called saying they had not received information from Hampden about a supplement and could not approve the rental without one, we called on conference to Hampden and spoke with Mike. Mike was argumentative stating that the car was in line for repair and there was nothing he could do. That there was no supplement, they were busy and would submit a supplement at the end of the work if there was one. USAA explained that they could not approve a rental for beyond the time allotted without a supplement and round and round they went while I, the customer, was stuck in the middle. Eventually USAA approved the rental for another 2 weeks despite not having any supplemental information. At the end of those 2 weeks (they've now had my car for a month) I was again stuck with no car and the end of the rental looming. I called Hampden again and spoke with Brian. He informed me that my car was in line for paint and was not ready. USAA approved the rental extension based on that for a week. Then at the end of the week, here we go again. USAA had reached the end of what they could pay for a rental without supplemental information. We again called on conference to Hampden and spoke with Brian. Not only was Brian not helpful he was rude and obstructive. He proceeded to the tell the adjuster that he wasn't going to argue repair time with her because she didn't know what she was talking about and my car was in line for paint. The adjuster responded that she has been in the business for 20 years and she understands how repair shops work. The conversation devolved from there . Needless to say, there was no resolution and the call ended badly. So badly in fact that the adjuster called me back and recommended that I report them to their corporate office, unfortunately, there isn't one. At this point, my 2-week repair was at 7 weeks and they could no longer justify a rental car. A week went by, now without a rental car and again I called Hampden expecting my car to be finished, after all it was in line for paint a week ago, surely it must be done by now. This time Mike fielded my call. My car still wasn't done and it was still in line for paint. When I inquired as to why my car sat for a week waiting for paint since I was told the same thing a week ago, Mike explained that they have 60 cars on rotation there. Some of those cars have been sitting for months waiting for parts and when those parts come in they get pushed to the front of the line further delaying my repairs. To his credit Mike did offer to pay for a rental vehicle and did cut us a check at the end. My car ended up taking an additional 2 weeks for a total of 9 weeks! For a drivable, minimal damage repair. Do they do good work, yes. Is it the most frustrating experience you will ever have, also yes. Hampden Auto body is like dropping your car into a black hole. Whatever they tell you for a time estimate is a lie, multiply it by at least 4. Don't expect them to work with the insurance company paying for your repairs. They blatantly refused to use the USAA online document submission system and refused to send the paperwork to justify extending the rental. Expect Mike and Brian to be condescending, obstructive and thoroughly unhelpful. I cannot recommend them less. My experience with Hampden Auto Body was superb. Mike, Giancarlo, and Brian all communicated with me at various points in the process and were all friendly and had solid direct answers with any questions I had. Towards the end of the process my insurance was not helping me and Brian went above and beyond to communicate with representatives from my insurance company and took care of everything for me, ensuring they paid their part in full! They had my VW 37 total days which was a lot, but they made sure to communicate from the start that it is a very arduous process with many opportunities for them to find additional work to make sure my car was like new at the end, which it is! They even sent my car directly to VW to have their trained technicians double check all electronics and sensors! They also took care of a minor cosmetic alteration that I requested. I cannot recommend this shop. I brought my truck in for some substantial work ($8000+, that I paid as cash). I was treated like an after thought, in my opinion because it wasn't a "Lambo" or a McLaren. They had my truck for a month and completed 1 of 3 projects on it. They were unorganized and any communication was initiated by me (no updates). When I picked it up the first time, there was garbage in the bed. They had pulled my truck into their tiny, inconvenient parking lot and parked it near a McLaren. They told me to be sure to not hit the ultra expensive car. I thought that was pretty disrespectful and dumb, as they were the ones that parked there. Then I noticed that the clear bra on the roof above the windshield was woefully inadequate-- it was 4" wide and didn't wrap to the glass, so the front edge would be rock chipped in no time if I left it. They gave me credit back, but I still had to pay another shop $50 to remove their job. The other shop had no issues wrapping the front edge and putting a strip more than 12" wide. I had to bring it back another time for them to finish the other 2 projects. One of these was understandable but it was obvious the other had been overlooked while they had the vehicle for the first month (How does that happen? ) I had to bring it in a 3rd time because the rear window they had installed was leaking water into the cab. They tried to fix it, but were unable too (incompetent help). Months later, I am still dealing with problems from their work, and finding new deficiencies. I will be getting another new rear window, because they overtightened some nuts on the frame trying to get it to seal, and the bolts snapped. I wasn't going to put this review out there, but since I keep finding issues, I must. I will say I liked Giancarlo, he tried to be considerate. The other staff was not too great. I got the impression that some of the people in charge were somewhat arrogant listening in on conversations (I was in the waiting room) The last time I drove away, after spending a couple of hours there to try to help diagnose the window leak and wait for them to fix it, they were outside ooooohhhing and awwwwwing over some overpriced sports car. Nice. They never said they wouldn't keep trying to fix things, but I figured I would find someone more competent. read more

This is the worst place to do business, a complete rip off artist!!!!!! I took the my vehicle to Hampden Auto body out of choice, because I have the right to take it where I want, probably the worst decision I have ever made. They took over a month and half to do the work, the insurance company said the work should have been done in 2 weeks, I kept calling to see when the truck would be done and they kept saying they are waiting for parts, little did I know that they are trying to double charge and the insurance company realized that they are double charging and said that they will not pay their bill. Weeks later I paying out of pocket for for the double charges that the insurance won't pay and Mike is telling me I have to pay $2502 to pick up my truck or he will start charging me storage. I should have to just pay my deductible of $500 and be on my way, instead I get a $2502 bill and I have to pay $600 for rental car overage cause they took for ever. Bad business, Mike if he wasn't the owner should be fired for the worst customer service but he can't be fired so everyone should just avoid this company because he is a terrible business man. read more

Poor customer service. Talk about business walking through your front door. I stopped in today and I see two guys sitting in front of their computers and I say "hi can I get an estimate on my bumper?" The one guy says "do you have an appointment? I say no and he basically says that is what I need to do. SO I won't be coming back because two guys who are sitting on there butts can't take ten minutes to give me an estimate does not deserve my business! I just left a place down the street called "Green Tech Auto BodyShop" took ten minutes out of there day to help me and the guys was super nice. And don't get me wrong I work in the hospitality business and if they seemed to be busy I could understand, however no other guests were present and their phones were not ringing. It was also the guys demeanor, a little arrogant. They should list "by appointment only" if this is the case on their Yelp profile. ------- Appreciate your reply however someone could have asked if I wanted an appointment when I was standing in your front door without hesitation -it is as simple as that. I had recently taken my car to the auto body shop to get the front and back bumper replaced. As well as the bracket for the front radar distance sensor. It's been in their for 6 weeks now. I was told it would be done on Wednesday the 4th it is now the 6th and I was just informed that they didn't install/ fix the bracket that hold the bracket, And that they would need to take the front bumper and the car apart again to install it. I spoke in the phone with some guy where I told him I was upset about this and why it wasn't caught when the car was already apart. The employee then started to get loude/rude over the phone. Customer service over all was not good at all I would not recommend taking your vehicles to this shop!! read more

A family owned and operated local business with almost 30 years of experience that has thoroughness, competence, integrity, communication and high standards. I fully endorse and recommend this awesome company! I called around a few places after our Honda Element was hit, there was pretty substantial front end damage and we knew that it had to be fixed right. I called Hampden Auto Body on a Friday afternoon and was sold, and after speaking with Brian about their procedures and what we needed, not even 2 hours later he had someone to our house and towed our vehicle to his shop. Thoroughness, when inspecting the vehicle, they were careful to replace everything that needed to be, making sure it's done the correct way. Bonus points: they are Honda certified (one of the few in Denver), and as far as I know they are Acura and recently Mazda certified too. Hampden Auto Body had great communication with me. Brian would keep me updated with their progress with phone calls/emails on a regular basis. I had to sign some paperwork so he suggested I come in, that way I can see their operation and he could explain to me everything they were doing to our vehicle and why it was going to be better than it was before the accident. He knew exactly what needed to be done, with clear explanation and the body shop is clean and organized. When it was all said and done (on the date he said) I went to pick it up, Brain again, went over everything they did and it looked brand spanking new! Fully detailed. They have a lifetime warranty on all of their work for as long as you own the vehicle and am positive they stand behind 100%. Our Element drives awesome and there isn't any indication that we had ANY major front end damage. More bonus points: We were having some issues with the insurance company and Brian took care of everything for us. Making our lives easier. If you want to roll the dice with other auto body shops around Denver, go for it. Personally, I'm taking the safe bet. I was referred to Hampden Auto Body by multiple friends and associates. After doing some research and seeing the reviews and accreditations of the shop, I decided I would give them a try. I had to wait 3 months for an appointment, as it was the busy season for them. I went in for the first estimate as soon as I could. After getting the first estimate written up, I did have many questions. I eventually got in touch with Mike, as the previous employee I talked to was no longer with the company. Mike was extremely helpful, informative, and knowledgeable about any questions I had. I also had a second estimate that was for other repairs not related to the first. They assisted in both, as the first involved my insurance company. They also handled the rental vehicle, as insurance had to pay for it. While my vehicle was in the repair process, I received update emails as to the progress of repairs. I did have to stop by to retrieve some items out of my vehicle, and was walked through the damage to the vehicle piece by piece. I had requested to have all OEM parts installed, and they made it happen with the insurance company. The entire repair process took 2 weeks, from drop-off to completion. After getting my vehicle back, we did a quick walk-around and finished paperwork. It was my mistake that I did not look at the work closely at that time. Later when I was home, I started to inspect my vehicle closely. Turns out, there are numerous chips and imperfections in the NEW paint work. The paint work was on brand new OEM parts, as there was nothing to strip or paint over and no imperfections to begin with. All of the sections painted have "orange peel", and there is a section where there is noticeable "running" of the paint. On other parts of the vehicle, that were to be "blended", there are chips and imperfections protruding from the blended sections. On the front of the hood, which was new OEM and unpainted, there are 2 large drops of clear coat hanging off, and running of the clear coat. There is a similar drop of clear coat off the side of the new bumper. Underneath the hood, there was a sticker that was just painted over, and is now peeling up from under the paint. Lastly, there is a section of the bumper, close to the fog lights, that did not receive any clear coat. I didn't expect a 5-star, show quality paint job, but the paint work turned out mediocre at best. I am very upset that a window switch bezel, that was loose, was "fixed" with glue. I knew that it was previously broken, and it was nowhere in the estimates or in any agreement that it would be addressed or touched. It was set to be replaced by myself when I got my vehicle back. I was never consulted with or asked if I wanted it "fixed", in which I would have declined. There was not a single drop of glue anywhere in or around my vehicle before now. I now can't remove the bezel, as it is now glued directly to the armrest, and there is glue coming out from under it, that is visible. The use of glue and not asking if the repair is wanted, is something I'd expect from a cheap and low quality shop, but not Hampden. In addition, there are zero fender liner retainers, where there were previously. Before I sent my vehicle in, I inspected these, as there were 2 per liner. There is now zero, where there are many empty holes for retainers. There is also a retainer missing on the underside of the hood to hold the "shield" in place. There is now a section of that shield that is unsecured and loose, that moves with the incoming air. It seems that something as minor as plastic retainers should not be a problem, but they were not reinstalled or replaced. On the right side of the vehicle, that the insurance company was paying to fix, the old scratched up and damaged trim panel was reinstalled as is. This should have been replaced or repaired as it was part of the insurance claim. It was not repaired or replaced. I now have a decent looking door with a scratched and damaged trim section which could have been repaired. The shop also allowed me to reclaim my old parts, but did not provide all the pieces to my grille assembly. Without the second piece, I cannot repair my old grille to practice, or have a backup. I am very particular about my vehicles, and everything that happens to them. I had approved everything in the estimates, but nothing extra or not included. There is a reason I paid more for OEM parts, walked through the damage on the vehicle, and talked closely with Mike. I understand that the shop has to keep their costs to a minimum, but it should not sacrifice quality. If money was a factor of quality, I would have been willing to pay more for better quality. But when I am provided with a quote, it is implied that I will receive quality work for the price the shop has requested. I do not believe that the workmanship was that of a several thousand dollar price tag. read more

Total lack of communication while my car was in the shop. They never once called me to update me. I had to call every few days to see what was going on. Repair seems good, my car is not falling apart at least, but I really have no way to judge the quality of their work as it is not my area of expertise. Nearly 2 mos. after I got my car back Mike calls me and leaves a completely unprofessional voice mail threatening to send me to collections because the insurance company made a mistake and I owed them another $500. From the moment i arrived at Hampden Auto Body I felt at ease. The owner Mike Ross assured me they could fix everything that was done wrong to my truck. I would like to state that the level of customer service was unreal. Mr. Ross let me know that he would personally handle all the communication with my insurance company. Which he did and I wasn't bothered with any of the details. He gave me a tour of his shop and made me feel comfortable that they were doing only quality work down there. Once they got the ok from my insurance company, they only took a few days to finish a ton of work on my vehicle. I was so pleased with the outcome. My truck looked brand new. The work they did was impeccable. It was real nice to have email updates with the status of my vehicle. It felt as if they cared and kept me informed and updated with the progress. These guys are professionals and are certified to work on Infiniti's. My car looked like it rolled off the factory floor after my accident. I would not recommend them. They said the entire duration for my hail damage repair would be 4 to 6 weeks and it took 3 months. It was 5 weeks in a row of "next week" as well. They were very nice, but that was more than frustrating. The quality was fine from what I could tell, but now there is something rattling in the tailgate as well. I won't be going back. read more

My car ended up being totaled by the insurance company so they didn't do the repairs but in the process of assessing the damage they were great. They were always upfront, honest and took the time to explain everything to me. I feel that if the car was repaired they would've done a great job with that too. They are a bit backed up but worth the wait. As one of the insurance adjusters said - he knows all the shops in town and while there are plenty that can get you quickly those aren't the one's you want to take your car to and then complimented their quality of work he's seen in the past. read more

I had my car taken there after a accident. I can not say how there work is due the car eventually being considered a total loss but their customer service was awful. I would be told we will call you back and I would never receive a call back. They were rude and unhelpful when I had questions. The customer service was even worse once the car was considered a total loss and they would not be making any money due to not working on it. read more
