I'm just a tourist passing through Lee Vining, and I found this place on Yelp on a Sunday night…read more What a great find. This place was amazing! I ordered the tri-tip sandwich, and the chef absolutely delivered. It may honestly be the best tri-tip I've had in Northern California. The portion was generous, the price was very reasonable, and everything tasted fresh and perfectly made. Andres and his team were on top of everything and made me feel genuinely welcome from the moment I walked in. Great food, great service, and a great experience all around. Ohhhh... and the dessert? I went with the Miner's Madness, and it was the perfect way to finish the meal. Highly recommend!

The ribs were not good. There was absolutely no smoke to them. They were crockpot ribs with no seasoning and a very nasty barbecue sauce poured on top. The salad bar was very basic. They need to add more to it with fresher ingredients the three bacon cheeseburgers all the kids said the burger were just OK. The fries were good.. this place has such potential it's in a very beautiful location right off the highway but it's mediocre food..Something should've told me when we got there why we were the only ones. most people don't leave reviews, but it makes sense why we were the only ones there.

Thanks Rich for making our visit beyond amazing, kids had a great time and your kindness and generosity is going to last forever. Simple act of kindness to random strangers kids visiting for breakfast and made a life lasting memory. Thank you Rich for going out of your way. Amazing food and outstanding team!

I ordered salmon with miso sauce, but it was not miso at all -- it was some kind of sour,…read morecompletely different sauce. The fish was overcooked to the point of being dry and inedible. I had specifically asked to substitute the rice, but it was still served -- and there was a hair in it, which is absolutely unacceptable from a hygiene standpoint. The kids' burger was overcooked to the point of being dry like a cracker, and the fries looked and tasted like they were cooked in old, repeatedly used oil. This is unsafe and unacceptable, especially for children's food. The steak was ordered medium well, but was served well done -- completely overcooked. The chimichurri sauce was also misleading: instead of the classic green sauce, a red mixture was served that had nothing to do with it. The coleslaw was simply awful. Additionally, the staff showed no proper response -- we were not offered a replacement, a discount, or even a proper apology. This reflects a complete disregard for service standards and customer care. In its current state, this does not meet even basic restaurant standards.

I've been visiting Walker Burger for decades, and it's just a joy every time…read more The staff are always very friendly and helpful, and service is efficient. They have a beautiful outdoor eating area with good shade options. The menu is surprisingly extensive for such a tiny spot. Burgers, fries, and shakes are all excellent, like "wow, I wish I could get burgers this good when I'm not here" level good. They even carry gluten free buns for those of us who can't eat wheat, and they're shockingly good! They also have good options for vegetarians. I'm always raving to my friends that they should stop here to eat when on the East Side. It's an absolute gem.

Now serving LOCAL Park Ranch Beef? SAY LESS and GIMME MORE!…read more Can't believe this is my first review of Walker Burger, as I've likely stopped here a dozen times over the years. A roadside burger, fresh and hot fries, and a rich creamy milkshake are a necessary part of every trip through the area, and whenever we're between here and Mammoth, Walker Burger is THE STOP. For starters, the vibes are just perfect. The wait in line is where it starts, as the sun is typically beating down as you wait to order in the dirt parking lot, making the shade from the narrow porch and the friendly hello from the order taker your first reward for being here. Usually I'm hungry from a busy morning of breaking down camp, and a 1/4lb Walker Burger with American cheese, fresh veggies and secret sauce on a fluffy fresh seeded soft bun always hits. Summer time usually has me ordering a fresh seasonal fruit shake (peach) but honestly every shake is fantastic and I also LOVE the coffee shakes, which are made with real coffee and coffee beans for extra punch. Fries are always hot and fresh, and best of all they come out crispy without asking for it! Service is always friendly and fun too. What makes this spot special is the garden dining. Picnic tables are scattered throughout a well shaded area offering travelers a cool and relaxing area to enjoy their food. We've definitely done this a few times, but typically take it to go and enjoy it (and the glorious mess) on the way home. Walker Burger is a MUST! Have you been?

The restaurant feels like a fun locals log cabin. We love coming here because it's easy with kids, the food is delicious and they have great craft cocktails. We are never disappointed here. Such a great local spot! Kids ordered Chicken Tenders and Mac & Cheese with Shirley Temples. I had the French Onion Soup + Poke Bowl and Camomile Sour. Decided to still try out a couple of new spots to give Mammoth a chance and was pleasantly surprised by Mammoth Tavern. Stopped in on a Saturday night and were told that the wait would be about 30 to 40 minutes but were seated in about 10! I highly recommend waiting in their waiting area or downstairs for your table as they will come to find to if something opens up quicker. Everything we ordered was tasty. We were very hesitant to try the Asian sticky ribs but it actually ended up being really good. I can't remember what the vegetable dish (4th pic) was called but it was also very good if you got a bite with everything in it. It had sweet potato, beet, candied walnuts and pomegranate seeds! We also ordered some drinks. The curry drink (forgot the name) was surprisingly good despite the odd list of ingredients that went in. Their local black cherry soda was also very nice. Service is great and very helpful when it came to recommendations. The space is small and doesn't allow dogs which was a bummer but still a spot I would come back to try more of their seasonal items!
