I decided to delay the closing due to algae and wanted to clean it up first. He got a little angry and said if I pay for the closing in full he would clean for free well im not paying for services that are not done yet. I decided to move on and ask for my $50 deposit back and he got very defensive saying I messed with his schedule and im messing with his money meanwhile he was a no show no text no phone call just didnt show up on the date he provided. Apparently his time is valuable but his customers aren't valuable. He ha yet to refund the money and I have received no response about it. I'm sure I'll get a response from the review blaming me for canceling but like I said he was a no show no text no phone call he couldn't make it i did not cancel on him. I even said ok let's try again and come tomorrow and vacuum. He couldn't give me a quote just said an extra 50 wth does that mean. Reading other reviews I should not have gotten involved with him. Kyle keep my $50 and enjoy it ill pay more money for a more reliable company.

    Be careful with this company…read more We switched to EVO Pools a few years ago because we needed a reliable pool service to open and close our pool. They are a local company as well and seemed reasonable the first year. Last summer, we had them open and clean the pool. They showed on time and communicated arrival. When they arrived, many of the workers (while friendly) don't speak English and so there are a few language barriers during the process. Many times the workers will just instruct to call the office to discuss any questions or next steps. So, asking them about their process or what should expect is futile. A day after they left, the pool was not clean (debris at the bottom and algae on the walls). I called and emailed and the response was that it may take a few times to clean the pool for it to be truly clean. And they would come back "for a charge" to clean it again. What?? And honestly, if I didn't pay A LOT of money to open, I wouldn't have been that upset. So, I simply remembered that I would need to add a cleaning next year and worked to get the pool clean on my own. We used them again this summer, but this time I ordered a cleaning with the opening (as a separate item to which they charged me an hourly rate). The pool reps came (same workers) opened the pool and cleaned it. They let us know that someone would be back for the full cleaning a day later. GREAT! They came back a day later (I was charged 1.5 hours) and cleaned the pool. When they left that day, there was still algae and other sediments in the pool. My husband and I thought this would be cleaned by our filter, expecting that the walls and floor were scrubbed and this is what caused the cloudiness in the water. Two days later when the water cleared, there was still algae on the walls, floors, and around the lights. I reached out to express my concern and the response was "it may take more than a few cleanings" and they were happy to come back out and CHARGE ME AGAIN!!!! It was clear that the work/scrubbing of the pool walls, around the lights, in the creases of the stairs, etc wasn't done at the cleaning. We will never use EVO again. I give them 2 stars for communication because they do quickly respond and especially quick to tell me that they would happily come out and fix the issue at MY expense. And if you have money to burn, you could just have them come out 20 times to clean your pool until it's done and ready for the summer!!

Through that effort, I selected Prell for a key component of the project - running / reconfiguring water lines, equipment move, new equipment, skimmer replacement, and rewiring electrical components (probably missing some things). Funny enough, I had a feeling that I was going to select Prell shortly after they came out to quote the work - they simply left a great impression by being consultative, personable, and asking a fair price for the work. I had other reputable service providers quote but they just didn't stack up to Prell. Fast forward to today, their work is finished and I couldn't be happier with the experience. Everything has been completed to my specifications - all the effort in sourcing the right company paid off! I even had some additional work that I've asked them to do and am considering them for other services (don't tell my current service provider!!!) Anyway, if you read this far and didn't get the memo, definitely check out Prell for your pool needs - large or small. I would recommend them to anyone!

    DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY OR YOU WILL REGRET IT!!! PART 2…read more UPDATE. The business owner Tracy has attempted (AND FAILED) to do damage control by responding to my original horrible review EVEN THOUGH SHE HAD ALREADY RESPONDED TO ME ON THE PHONE...so there was no reason to respond to me online here...ONLY to try to twist the story and do damage control. Sad. She knows that YELP doesn't allow US CUSTOMERS to respond to the business owner's reply and that they get the last word on here, so they make it try to appear as though the customer is wrong or being unreasonable...so I am posting again to let everyone know how full of it these business owners are and how they are clearly trying to save themselves from ANOTHER horrible review, because they have MANY. See my original review below (I have attached a screenshot) or just go to the original post for it AND their reply (Yelp doesn't allow that many characters here to post it all). And why am I going through this trouble? To make sure that you good people out there do not use this company and end up going through what we did with them. So now for my reply to the business owner's response to my original post. TRACY SAID "You contacted us twice on July 12th regarding an issue with the heater not working and the water not flowing from the spa to the pool. Our associate spent time on the phone attempting to help you troubleshoot the valve positions and asked that you call us back if the issue continued. We did not hear from you again until the morning of July 14th." Wow, Tracy...you keep making yourself look worse and worse...what actually happened was that I contacted YOU on Saturday and spoke to your associate TWICE and had to waste a ton of time on two different calls troubleshooting the problem and NOTHING he told me to do actually worked, completely wasting our precious time. And the reason you didn't hear from me AGAIN is because my SECOND call had been a 10 minute call that was made at 3:54...AND YOU CLOSE AT 4pm!!!! AND your business doesn't open again UNTIL MONDAY MORNING!!!! So I actually have to tell YOU what YOUR business hours are AND when you are open and closed??? YOU ALSO SAID "The cleaning and chemical balancing services you were charged for were completed as scheduled, in accordance with our service terms." Well, Tracy...again...in accordance to service terms, and for a visit to be "COMPLETED AS SCHEDULED", YOU ACTUALLY HAVE TO SET THE POOL SYSTEM VALVES & SETTINGS CORRECTLY PER YOUR OWN INSTRUCTIONS (NOTES AND PHOTOS)!!! If you didn't do that, you DID NOT "complete as scheduled"!!! If the valves and system were not RETURNED TO THEIR ORIGINAL AND PROPER POSITION, you did not "COMPLETE AS SCHEDULED". If YOUR SERVICE VISIT and carelessness caused MULTIPLE ISSUES with our pool systems, then YOU DID NOT "COMPLETE AS SCHEDULED"!!! And this is all on top of the fact that because of what the technicians did, our system was malfunctioning FOR DAYS!!! "Complete as scheduled" means that you did what YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO DO...and PROPERLY". Which you did NOT do. Yet, you STILL charged us FULL PRICE WITH NO DISCOUNT AT ALL for that service AND all the aggravation and inconvenience you caused us, YOUR CUSTOMERS, as detailed in my original post. Once again, YOU DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR CUSTOMERS & all your negative reviews here prove it. And that's why we fired you and why you've lost SO many customers...and are getting so many bad reviews.

No problem I told them, I called 3 times over 3 weeks to place the order and was told someone would call me back. Never returned any of my calls. Spoke with them today, 9/4/24 and a very rude lady told me sorry we are closing and hung up on me. WOW nice way to treat a future customer. We had stopped in the past to buy pool supplies and we were treated like we were invisible even then. Guess, we did not learn the first time. They treat customers like we are an inconvenience/bother. We wanted to give them the sale instead of the big competitor in Exton. We will never go to them again, would rather spend $2000 more with Leslie's or Great Valley. We don't own some old crappy pool, that's how we felt dealing with them.

I've used this pool service for 5 years, have spent a lot of money there, and never had an issue with in store personnel. I complained about pool opening and closing being done incorrectly and asked for a portion of a return given the service team did not complete the job. My money was NOT returned and instead I received a rude and pretentious response from the General Manager, Frani. If you need something from the store- I guess it's okay, but they need to get rid of Frani who is turning away loyal paying customers. Check out the letter I sent and the response received. Do you want to work with Frani?

    WORST SERVICE EVER!!! BUYER BEWARE…read moreBEFORE I BEGIN HOW DO I GIVE LESS THAN ZERO STARS?? Where do I begin? The Owner kyle elam and the manager kevin (he wouldn't give me his last name) were rude, condescending and downright disrespectful. The reviews here don't lie and are spot on. I read all the negative reviews but still (by my own terrible judgement) decided to give Colony pools a chance. Why you ask? Because I like to support small local businesses and support them. BIG MISTAKE! When I found out through email that they couldn't keep their scheduled service appointment I called in to verify when they would be able to reschedule. Kevin was aggravated and annoyed that I call and literally said "how many "expletive" (he used the F word) questions do you have? He then hung up on me. I have never been treated so poorly as a paying customer in my life. I honestly hope this review doesn't fall on deaf ears and I am available to answer any questions anyone may have. I don't want to get into how it continued as it really makes me feel really low and upset that I even gave them the opportunity to make right on the bad reviews they have. The owner kylie elom apparently inherited this business from his daddy and obviously doesn't understand what it takes to run a successful business. As he continues this napolionistic and cavalier attitude his gift from his daddy will eventually collapse. He never had to work hard and build a successful business or his reputation so it's easy for him to throw away something he didn't earn. He offered a very reasonable and cost effective solution. The pool was crystal clear within 48 hours. Since then we have continued to use this company and have not been disappointed at all. If we have a concern, the owner actually stops over to evaluate and solve any issues. The staff is respectful, polite and knowledgeable. It's great to know there are still family companies that provide excellent service.
