In summary, we ordered a top of the line above ground pool, were given a cheaper model pool, and no…read moreeffort was made to get us the right pool. So now we have the wrong pool sitting in our yard that we may or may not be able to use as we need it partially buried. We can't tell if we were scammed or if this was just due to incompetence, but either way it was a terrible experience and we want to warn others. We ordered a pool from D and L in April and specifically requested the backfillable Aquasports pool because are yard has a steep slope and the pool was to be partially buried. We paid the price that we expected for the quality pool we were purchasing, as confirmed with other retailers. The pool was manufactured and then sent right to the installer, who installed the pool at the end of May. After looking into backfilling the pool, we discovered that we had received a much lower quality pool than what we ordered. We went to D and L and were told that we had the correct pool and the price was correct. After arguing back and forth, we called Aquasports who said that the price we paid was high for that low end model and specified a different pool store to contact, who we then called and confirmed pricing with. After more back and forth, the person working at D and L acknowledged that they ordered us the wrong pool and refunded us the difference in the pool costs, with the understanding that we cannot use the lower quality pool and we still wanted the right pool. He said he would let the owner, Jerry, know what the situation was and work something out. After not hearing anything for a week, we tried calling several days in a row and finally got a hold of Jerry, who claimed he had not been told about this situation. After a long phone call, Jerry said he would look into it. After another week of not hearing anything and not being able to get Jerry on the phone, we went to the store. Jerry was in and denied having spoken to us over the phone the previous week. Said he would make some phone calls that day and figure something out. After following up over the phone the next day, Jerry had said he had not heard anything back and after a little more back and forth Jerry hung up on us. Followed up a few days later and spoke to the original person who sold us the pool, they said they were waiting to hear back from the installer and Aquasports and they would get back to us. Haven't heard anything in over a week, and we're still stuck with this pool that doesn't meet our needs.

Having researched pool companies in NJ for YEARS prior to selecting Artistic Pools, I am…read moreEXCEPTIONALLY pleased with Artistic Pools and am happy to provide a reference for them. From the get-go, Artistic Pools was upfront and fair about the sale and installation of San Juan Pools. They provided all the information I needed to be confident in the build, quality and warranty of San Juan Pools. Artistic Pools' website, which is handled exceptionally by co-owner Mark, provides detailed pictures, specs, references and transparent pricing information that other companies make you jump through hoops for. Their salesperson, Craig, was always informative and responsive to my questions while never pushing to close the sale or to add any extra, expensive add-ons. Jenea handled the permit application with ease, completely offloading that potential hassle from my plate. And finally, co-owner Mike and his crew were SUPERB with overseeing the project. I was amazed that the pool was installed in just 1 day (and weeks ahead of their estimated schedule), with the cement, electrical and other details finished a week later. Mike and his crew also installed my pavers- this was a much more intensive project than the pool and they handled it fairly and with precision and expertise. With a crew at my house for about 6 weeks, Mike was dedicated to ensuring perfection with the project, always responsive to any concerns I had and very sincere about thanking me for the business. Should anyone reading this wish to speak to me, please ask Mike, Mark or Craig to give me your number and I would be happy to chat further.

I was kept informed during each phase, when they were schedule to come out, what was happening. I have never had as good experience with a contractor as I had with Aqua Bello. Mike and or his son was onsite during most of the major phases. He did the stone work for the waterfall, which turned out great. When we decided to install a pool I was afraid that I would be out there constantly cleaning, adding chems, etc. But, with the Pentair equipment they installed I did very little the first season. And I only had to backwash one time. I highly recommend Aqua Bello. Someone else posted that they had a bad experience, I am not sure I agree with all that was posted. I certainly can not see that anyone at Aqua Bello would have called that person a liar. I met Mike, his son and wife, and Jeff when he designed the pool. I talked to them on virtually a weekly basis and I would be shocked if that were true. I just don't see it. I certainly had a very good experience. My neighbors have all commented how nice the pool looks.

They did a fantastic job, kept me updated on the progress and everything is working great to this day. The existing pit was way too shallow, which was shown by the fact that when the job was done right it took 2 days for the water to settle from filling and pumping out. A while later everything is still working fine.

The scope work which we wanted done required the workers to use the preexisting and functioning…read moresump pump. The first night after they installed the french drain system and new pit, the sump pump started mal-functioning. The workers came back the next day to finish the job and told us that the floater was sticking and that we may need a new sump pump. Mike tried to scare us into buying a new sump pump for $450. Knowing that we could go buy a perfectly good sump pump for less than $200 at Home Depot, we said no. They "finished" the job and we paid Mike in cash. Well, the next day our sump pump failed again and caused water to seep up onto our basement floor. We called Mike to ask him to come repair the sump pump that his workers had carelessly broken. He told us that there was nothing that he could do and that they don't fix sump pumps and that's why we should have bought a new one yesterday. Furthermore, he didn't offer any sort of remediation. Immensely frustrated after spending all that money, still having a wet basement, and getting no assistance from the company, my husband went to take a look at the sump pump himself. Low and behold, he found little pieces of plastic in the pit that the workers left in there. He removed all the pieces and ever since the sump pump has been working like new. We truly felt like they were sabotaging our sump pump on purpose to scam us for more money. Even if this was not the case, it was still negligence on their part. Furthermore, Mike who claims that he oversees everything only showed up on the last day in order to get paid and never bothered to inspect the quality of work. Overall, even though our basement is dry, the customer service and accountability were lousy. I would not recommend this company to any of my friends or family members.
