I posted a review on 1.5.2026. I am posting again to let potential clients know that Ted's Pool's reply to me was inaccurate, since this is a website for consumers to share honest experiences with a company. It disturbs me even more that this company is comfortable lying about the service they provided our family. Ted's Pools subcontractor put in an inadequate gas line for what our system required. We could not run our gas oven if the hot tub was on. They did not turn in a peco adequacy form before they started the work. After it was over they told us to do it if we were having issues. Their work also resulted in a gas leak which we had to hire an outside contractor to resolve. I did not trust ted's Pools to respond to an email let alone resolving a gas leak. Carol said they did not want me to have a dark ground pool because I had young children. I told her at the time of the meeting my three children are teenagers and all can swim very well. So that is another lie they told in their reply. Maybe Ted's doesn't have adequate options for their clients. They only showed me two options and did not make any effort to show me anything else. It was that or nothing. Carol did speak to my husband about the spillway after we sent email after email. I cannot confirm if the mason ever came because at no time did I speak to a mason at my house sent by Ted's. At no time did they follow up and say "our mason was there." If their mason identified the issue why would they just not fix it. Again we spent months trying to resolve the issue and our emails went unanswered. Next lie. They screwed up the closing of the pool. We spent a month testing the water at Leslie's Pool supply. The only thing Ted's did was come out and the tech left a note say the balances are really messed up and they would let Carol know. I had to follow up with Carol and she responded with a 30 minute window that had to get in touch with her. Then we fired them after one of teenager got a chemical burn from them screwing up the hot tub maintenance. Carol did not try to explain anything you have to track Carol down for a response to anything. They said they came twice a week in the winter to service the hot tub. That is a lie. That is what I repeatedly asked for Carol never replied to that request and they only ever came once a month and the hot tub was completely under serviced. Carol you can reply to this all you want but you know you did not handle the account correctly. You're not running a good business and you do not take care of issue after the pool has been built. Customers are on their own to track you down and in the end they are better to hire someone else to resolve it so it actually gets taken care of. read more

They required prepayment for pool opening. Then, they didn't show up on the day they were scheduled for pool opening. I called around noon that day and was told "oh they're going to come tomorrow instead." They showed up the following day and got the cover off. They couldn't figure out how to start the pumps. after 3.5 hours of trying, they asked ME for help. I'm not a pool tech!! I did my best to guide them but it still wasn't working. They told me "we called the office an hour ago, they told us we should just leave right then and there". I told them to give it one more try and if its still not working, give up. Three minutes later they went zooming out of the driveway. Haven't heard from the company since then. It's been 2 weeks. Ted put in our pool less than 7 years ago. Even though i have issues with some of the construction i would have given 3 stars if not for their terrible after payment customer service. We had them install a solar heating system, the panels are warranted for 10 years. When the first panel failed after 4 years they charged us for the replacement and it took months to get. Now our second panel failed this June, and its September we are still waiting for the replacement. This time they did say they would cover it under warranty but having no heat in the pool for 3 months out of a 4 month season is insane. Even to get their attention after the sale takes multiple phone calls and multiple emails. It's not just no heat which shortens the season its the system leaks so you have to keep adding water... and because of that chemicals. They build an average pool, not great but not terrible, but once you pay them don't expect any customer support, warranty help or anything. read more

we are more than "not a good fit" as i was told by carol. also i live in PA. your team is incompetent as are you. the information ,which were really excuses , that you have provided are simply wrong. My equipment is not too close together, the pump system is not incorrect, several teams removed the top of the 3-valve flow converter and had no issues putting it back on. Glue does not last forever. Other companies know how to put it back on and not break it and put it on in the correct direction. Other companies also know how to adjust the flow so that the vacuum and floor filter system works. Other companies were quick to pick up on the leak in the filter, your techs said nothing until two days ago. Other companies laughed when I told them you said my pool was done improperly and that a 10 year old pool is too old. So before you try to bolster your ego by trying to teach me a lesson about how my pool works, I would suggest that you get educated. I would also recommend that you learn how to handle customers and learn to apologize instead of offering inane and defensive excuses. Let's see what else, no other company would try to charge me for something they broke. No other company would tell me they found the clip to my vacuum bag in the skimmer, tell me they don't make those bags any more, offer no solution and leave with the clip. BTW, I had previously found a fix for the bag, but even with that your tech left without hooking the bag back onto the hose. Although as he insists they do not make them anymore and he doesn't work on a pool that are 10 years old, maybe he simply did not know how to do it.. and, the bag and the vacuum work fine. Oh, let's talk about salt. You and I both know that despite me telling you this was a salt water pool NO ONE PUT SAlt in it and then, my favorite part, your technician decided I needed a lecture on how it was my responsibility to care for the chemicals on the off weeks. Never is there any recognition that anyone at your company is responsible for anything or possibly made a mistake. There is a thing called human error and we all make mistakes but your company policy to not take responsibility for even the littlest things, like the mess of hoses and tubing left for me to clean up, is an indication of a company without integrity or any real concern for their clients. Charging me for the broken gauge is a similar issue as is not sending me the contract that I asked you for.. you said it is attached but of course it is not. i was more than willing to give your guys a chance, they were clear that my pool was so old that they did not know what they were doing, but they seemed to be trying and were on the phone with "their supervisor." Little did I know that their superiors would support their ineptitude by agreeing that a 10 year old pool is too old and that my equipment was hooked up wrong, etc and that no one wanted to address the facts. Your company was just interested in being defensive and ignorant. Let me add that no one who has been building and servicing pools for 38 years would not know how to care for my pool. There is something fishy about your organization and I am sending this letter to the BBB. I also suspect that the pictures you posted as your work are not actually your work. I have no proof of that , just a gut feeling. Now I know why you were able to schedule me so late in the season. I have seen all the complaints and that you are not BBB accredited. the other companies I called are laughing at you and knew exactly what to do. you lost out on a job worth thousands. do not contact me further and do not send me a bill for the two maintenance services as i mentioned previously. your crew, whoever they were caused me more trouble than anything. read more

Ted's Pools is the only place to go for a one of a kind personal experience! When we decided to build our pool, we got 3 estimates. When Peter, from Ted's Pool's, gave us his estimate, I was quite impressed. Not only was the price comparable to the other estimates, but I felt like they were going to build "our" pool--not the same pool that was built at our neighbors house! Now that the pool has been built, we use them for the pool maintenance! I must say, not only do they do their job but they also take their time to explain things to me! Based on my experience with Ted's Pools I would caution anyone from hiring them just because they handle invoicing very poorly and are very unprofessional when you question their charges. They charged me for part and service I never requested or received. When they were questioned, their response was "how would you know if the part was installed or not, you are a new pool owner?" They definately lost me as a customer. read more

Ted's installed pools years ago, all subcontractors. New pool, rebar popping through plaster, cement runs on tile, water level constantly going down, after several attempts by Ted's,(and several calls) they could not fix.
