I visited Hammam Spa by Cela, and it was the escape of a lifetime. It's so unlike anything i've experienced at a Spa before, especially for downtown Toronto. It's such an escape from the moment you walk through the door. Every member of staff I spoke went above and beyond to make me feel special, attended to and relaxed. I had the Hammam Turkish Bath - FULL body exfoliation on a marble table - AMAZING and an RMT Massage. POSITIVES: I've been visiting this spa since 2015, and LOVED this place in their early days. This was my go to place for Facials, peels, and massages. Their Hammam Turkish Bath, and body treatments are also a treat. They provide you with a turkish wrap, robe, towels, and flip-flops for your visit so you don't need need bring too much with you on your visit. The use of their co-ed eucalyptus oil infused stream room (great for couples) is also complimentary with most services over $100. The exception are mainly a few facials as this can make your skin sensitive for the treatment. NEGATIVES: my experience here the past couple of years has been mixed, as the service is not as consistent as it used to be, the prices inflated quite a bit, and a lot of the staff appears to be changing more frequently than it used to. My rating for Hammam Spa fluctuates mostly between 3 and 4 based on my visits since the end of 2021 to the present. While the renovation is nice, the spa feels a little less cozy than it used to. I've also had a period of terrible service (with treatments and online orders) around the end of 2021 to early 2022, which made me take a break from this place, but things have improved since. They also recently replaced their plush white robes with shorter, thin robes made in the same fabric as their turkish wraps. read more

So I've been in the fence about writing this but I keep thinking about it so here it is. My first 30 mins was fine. I wasn't overly impressed with the spa. It was small. The entrance to the women's washroom was right at the entrance. Like I'm talking while I'm barely clothed in a towel, people with their winter jackets can make eye contact with me from a few meters away. Then the change rooms. Man they are so tiny. No shoe racks. No private change areas. If you go to change in the washroom there's no where to hang anything. Very underwhelming. Steam room was 10/10. We got a facial and it was pretty good. The girl who was doing my facial was nice and seemed professional but when I brought up some items specific to my skin she didn't seem to do anything about that or change her service in anyway. Up until now I was fine, until I went to use the amenities. In the shower was something really concerning and disgusting. I don't have it in me to say what it was but I think it would really have an impact on their business. I jumped out and didn't shower. I told staff who said she'd telling her manager. She was nice and young but brushed it off a bit because it is an ongoing issue. I immediately left and missed out on using amenities I paid for. I told the girl at reception and she said "ya we know, it's normal this time of year" and slapped me in a bill. Honestly a manager should have came out and talked toe directly. Disappointing Experience at Hamman Spa on King St, Toronto My recent visit to Hamman Spa on King St in Toronto left me with mixed feelings and a sense of disappointment. The Receptionists were lovely and kind. But this spa, known for its luxurious treatments and upscale ambiance, came with a hefty price tag of over $700+ for three people. I treated 2 others for their birthdays. Unfortunately, two of us were left underwhelmed and unimpressed with both the facial and massage services, primarily due to the poor service and incessant upselling at the facial. She even said: "Come back when you get your paycheck" to my guest. What the actual.... Upon arriving at the spa, we were greeted with a neutral vibe. However, neutral turned to underwhelming quickly as we proceeded with our treatments. The troubles began during my own massage where I asked for a deep pressure, hard massage and the masseuse told me to wait, I probably don't want that. Well, yes, I do, I know my body and have had countless previous massages in my lifetime. Perhaps she was tired that day and didn't want to exert herself to meet the $200+something price tag. I was really disappointed despite telling her what I wanted because I was in pain and craved relief after suffering with muscle tension for months of travel and planes. My 2 other guests and I had different therapists, but all of us shared a common sentiment of not feeling satisfied with the quality of the services. The facials lacked the attention to detail and personalized care that one would expect from a premium spa. It was a "Signature Facial" we thought but nothing adjusted as per specific skin needs. The therapist appeared disinterested in anything but upselling, going through the motions without making an effort to customize the treatments according to our individual skin concerns. I kid you not, the therapist focused on upselling additional treatments and products to my guest ON HER BIRTHDAY rather than providing a genuinely soothing experience. The constant pressure to purchase expensive add-ons during the session detracted from the supposed tranquility of the environment. To add to our disappointment, the service throughout our visit was inconsistent and unprofessional. The spa staff seemed more interested in promoting their expensive packages and retail products than ensuring our comfort and satisfaction. This upselling approach was intrusive and created a sense of discomfort during what should have been a serene experience. The exorbitant price I paid for my guests would have been a pleasure to pay if both my guests on their birthday got good service and weren't harassed. I expected a level of service and attention to detail that wasn't delivered but was easily delivered by the MANY spas I've visited around the world but a fifth of the price. While I understand that luxury comes with a price, it is essential for a spa of this caliber to prioritize customer satisfaction over financial gain. Our experience at Hamman Spa on King St was a letdown. The lackluster facials and massages (we found the same moisturizer used in the bathroom for free...), coupled with the pushy upselling tactics and unimpressive service, made this visit far from the experience we had anticipated. We left the spa feeling underwhelmed and regretful for having spent such a significant amount on a disappointing day. We will not be returning to this spa and cannot recommend it to others seeking a truly indulgent spa experience. Echoing some other reviewers- I don't understand how this spa has only three stars. I got a two hour service with a massage and a body wrap- the massage was the best- I didn't have to explain anything he knew where it hurt and went to work. The body wrap was divine- I highly recommend it. It is on the pricier side of life, yes. But since I cannot get a decent massage anywhere in the city, I will gladly come here and ask for the same RMT. I love hammam and how clean and friendly and professional they are. My sister also got a facial and said that she knew what she was doing- which I cannot say for a lot of aestheticians in the city. It's sad that you have to pay so much for quality, yes. But maybe we all need to raise standards in the city for everything, because it is hard to find. read more

I've just started attending several spas in Toronto and plan to start reviewing each one! My first spa was Hammam by Cela - King West. When I arrived I was impressed at how beautiful the spa was. It was quiet and clean. I was assisted immediately by the girl at the front desk. The change rooms were also completely clean. I booked the specialty massage "Cela Essential Balm Massage" for 1 hour. It was relaxing and I enjoyed the scent of the balm. They let you take home the unused remaining balm which Suzette said is good for your skin. It was a great massage and it was nice that I got to take some of the balm home as well. My RMT was Suzette. She was very nice. After you get changed, you are sent to the waiting room where there are snacks and water waiting for you. Then your RMT will take you to the massage room. I was seen on time and everything went smoothly. I was given my receipt and a steam room pass was added to my account since it was not open due to covid. It was a beautiful spa with great staff but I felt that I didn't receive a full spa experience because of covid. That had nothing to do with the establishment and I would definitely return after the covid restrictions have been lifted. read more

Overall the experience was great and glad I got to have some safe care time while staying in the city. This hamman spa location is located in King west right on Portland Street. There are ample parking lots and street parking in the city and very accessible by public transit. The spa had a large renovation since I last came and my only disappointment is that it made the space feel a bit smaller. The navigational flow seemed off, and the women's changeroom is literally right next to the checkin/checkout counter. I didn't use the steam room facilities (covid) but I was able to enjoy the lounge area where I propped a bunch of pillows in the corner and had a relaxing time to chill when there wasn't many people around. I got a prenatal massage and fully enjoyed the room ambience. Other than the steam room and lounge there isn't much other space to relax so I would recommend another spa in the city for that purpose read more

I visited the Hamam Spa by Céla on Saturday to celebrate a special occasion with my partner. Previously, I have visited the Hamam spa in the Shangri La hotel and had had such a lovely experience there which is why I thought to try the King street location. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed. The massages my partner and I received were lacklustre and did not live up to the standard of our previous visit. Further, we were hardly addressed by the staff. At the Shangri La location, we were greeted by staff anytime we passed them in the hallway, were guided to the tea lounge after our treatment and given a selection of teas and snacks. Here, we had to guide ourselves and serve ourselves snacks and refreshments. Overall, we left feeling like we had finished an appointment, rather than having had a relaxing evening at the spa. What can I say about Hammam that hasn't already been said? A lovely little oasis of tranquility set amidst a very busy area of downtown Toronto. Front desk attendants have always been personable and friendly every visit. You are supplied with a plush robe, slippers, body wrap (to be worn in the steam room) and a tutorial on how to use the lockers. The women's change room has ample space, fully stocked with hair care and oral health necessities along with large bathrooms. The waiting lounge is small but they made good use of the space. Tea, water and light items to nosh are provided along with an assortment of magazines. On both visits I've had RMT massage services with Chanda. She is incredibly friendly and skilled at what she does. I enjoy sweating it out in the steam room. Reminds me of what a teabag in a mug must go through. The only friendly people were the filipino workers, whose vibe already felt friendly without even speaking to them, but the receptionists really seem cold and even if they try to act polite, you still feel like it's not genuine. The place itself is nice, steam room is nice but could be hotter. Lounge room is cozy. Changeroom is alright, not as fancy as other high-end spas but still okay. A good first experience. The space is deceivingly large and extends into a lounge area and a large sauna/hammam space. Locker room is furnished with decent amenities. Went for couples massage and the room felt a bit small for 4 people. The masseuse was trying their best to be quiet when moving around but space was clearly a factor. The awkward part in the sauna space is there are 2 showers but not enough privacy to change from the wraps into robes especially given it's a unisex space. I got a $50 gift card and there was a special on and after tax and tip, my facial still cost $107. The treatment room is nice and the product seemed decent enough but I felt like a lot more was needed to justify the price. This place seems quite polarizing based on previous Yelp reviews, so I wasn't sure what to expect. But I came here mainly wanting to check out the hammam experience. This place has been around for a long time, but I never came before because the prices seemed way too high. But they are offering 20% off all online booking this month, so I decided to use my insurance RMT benefits and try it out. A 60 mins. Swedish massage came to $112 instead of $140. Yes, it's expensive but with any service over $100 you get free access to the hammam. I had a really relaxing experience here, despite it being a busy Saturday. There were a lot of people but it somehow never felt crowded, I never had to wait for a shower, and there was always room to sit in the tea lounge. There were a few instances were people were talking loudly in the changeroom, but generally, I found it much quieter and more relaxing than Body Blitz. It's also nice that it's co-ed (but it means you have to wear either a bathing suit or the wrap they give you... I brought my swimsuit because I think the wrap would still be kinda risque). From start to finish, the service was excellent. I was given a walk around of the place and the facilities are really clean. Staff were constantly walking around clearing used towels, empty cups, etc. Everything smells amazing too! Eucalyptus oil everywhere... The change rooms have lockers and you can set the code (i.e. no having to keep track of a key). They provide robes (which are enormous, but I have never found a spa where they have small size robes) and slippers (which thankfully come in S/M/L/XL). There are rain showers and all the basics -- blow dryers, hair straightener, body lotion. But bring your own hairbrush. After taking a shower, I went to the steam room. It was a lot larger than I expected. It is very steamy and you can barely see in front of you, but there's lots of room to sit and enjoy. It might be too hot for some people, but I loved it. I have been to hammams in Europe before and this was similar. In the hammam area, there are also showers to rinse off, a fridge with cool towels and cucumber water, and 2 suites (for if you buy a package that includes gommage scrub). I went back and forth between the steam room and the tea lounge (which has hot and iced tea, fruit, and magazines). You don't need to watch the time for your booked service, because once you arrive the staff know you are in the facility so they will call your name either in the steam room or the lounge. I thought that was nice, but it still would've been useful to have a clock somewhere. My massage was with Connie, and it was great. Some people find the service rooms noisy (you can hear people walk by), but I was in a room that was farther away and it was fine. Connie checked in a few times to make sure the pressure was good. I didn't have any particular area of focus, but found the massage really relaxing and almost fell asleep... The massage table is heated too, which was nice. Overall, this was a great escape in the middle of the city and the only reason I wouldn't give it 5 stars is because it is so expensive (I wish we had a hammam experience in Toronto that was more social and affordable enough that one could go regularly). This is specially for the pedicure - truly awful job! She knicked my big toe cuticle so much that it bled for a half hour, even after pressing down on it and having it soak in the water. My toe was swollen and red for about a week after! And she painted over my cuticles for the other toes. We called and complained because the bleeding and swelling was a genuine concern and the lady told us that having knicks are pretty common. Go to a real nail salon for mani pedis. read more

I don't understand the low star reviews :( It makes me sad that other people did not have as great a time as I did. I redeemed some Airmiles for a package. I got 1 hour massage, 1 hour of their body scrub treatment, and unlimited steam room usage. I started off about 30 minutes after they opened. This is key. Less people*, more quiet. The front desk agent was very sweet in showing me around and getting me situated. There are lockers in the changerooms; very handy and secure. They all contain a robe, a Turkish bath towel wrap, and slipppers. I got my suit on and put on my wrap. There is no nudity at the spa, I was told. The steam room is fantastically HOT! I loved the shaved ice aspect. You use the scoop to get some out of the well. I dropped the ice onto the wood beside the well and then picked it up with my hands. It feels amazing to rub it over your neck and chest while you are surrounded in thick, hot steam. Unfortunately, another patron did not seem to like the heat, so she stood with the door open trying to acclimatize herself. I was quite displeased and told her as much. She did listen to me and closed it, but later when she finally did come in, she wanted to have a conversation with me about whether the steam room was unisex or not. When I told her that everyone can use the steam room, she became agitated and left. I think she was actually naked (couldn't see for the steam) and did not heed the receptionist's warning. LMAO Tanya did my scrub down treatment and she was the sweetest. I am large chested and it can be awkward for me when the girls are not in a bra. She did everything to make me feel comfortable and I felt no shame in my body. After the wonderful gommage, she set up some Turkish delight, baklava, and tea for me in the lounge. Her focus was completely on me and my comfort. My RMT, Rosvi, was a teeny tiny lady and I admit, my (wrong) first impression was 'how will she exert any pressure on my body?' I am used to a lot of deep force and she totally brought it. I had the best massage of my life. I have ongoing hip mobility and circulation issues and I left feeling so balanced and free. I will visit her on a regular basis once my normal RMT heads off on his world travels. LOVED this place. I am going to send my brother-in-law here because I think he will also love it. read more

This place is so overrated. First, the space is very small. I personally do not find it very relaxing or soothing when people are in your space. Even walking down the hall you have to move over, and sort of pause to let someone pass by you. Second, while the steam room is very beautiful, it stinks and those changing coloured lights are so awful. The lights do not transition smoothly, in fact, their transition is very abrupt. And they desperately need to add some soothing essential oils to the steam. I do not want to smell other people and that damp/musty smell. Lastly, their staff was not very friendly. As it was my first time at the spa I had a few questions about the amenities and the location of everything, and I was addressed in such a condescending way. I might even go so far as to say that the staff here is quite pretentious. However, my masseuse, Diane, was fantastic! She was sweet, friendly, and knew exactly what she was doing. This is a review for the confused and unhelpful spa staff who were unwilling to help me book a $500 gift package by phone. First they said I had to send them my credit card info in a PDF over email (ummm data security whut) because their website wouldn't accept international credit cards... Then they claimed they didn't receive the attachment (which I did attach, 4 different times)... Then I called back and talked to someone else who said I didn't need to worry about an emailed form, and could just give them my details over the phone. Finally talked to yet another lady who started explaining to me that in order to attach an email I had to pick "include attachments" (yes, thank you, I've only been using email for 25 years)... My husband and I came here for the hamma turkish baths. This was our first ever turkish bath experience and we were pleasantly surprised. As son as you enter the spa, the aromatic eucalyptus smells gives it a nice relaxing feel. Check in process was smooth. Upon check in we were given a quick tour of the facilties as it was our first time. The locker and shower areas were clean and in immaculate condition. For the hammam treatment, we first used the steam room. By far one of the best steam rooms, I have ever been to. It has nice soft lighting which chnages with the music. Yes the steam room has music!! What I loved most was the bowl of ice and washcloths that are provided for you to take inside the steam room if you need to cool down a little. It was then followed by our Turkish bath. The ladies that helped my husband and me were very professional and did an amazing job. The marble stone remained hot and we were never uncomfortable/ awkward at any time. What I loved the most was the couples turkish bath is on the same slab of stone, which allows you to hold hands, talk and actually enjoy the experience together as a couple. It was a really fun experience for us. After the baths, we could either relax in the tea are or use the steam room again. Both me and my husband were extremely happy with our scrub downs, our skin has never felt softer and cleaner. The tea area is nice and cozy and has plenty of magazines, juices, water, tea, nuts, cranberries, fruit for use between your sessions. It has a nice fire place as well where you can sit and relax with your tea. As mentioned earlier, the showers were nice and clean, they have plenty of towels, bathrobes and sarongs if you need to change them out. They also have basic things like hair bands, deodrant, hair spray and hair brushes. The only one thing I wish they had were better hair driers but that was no big deal. Decided to come here for my bday, had a massage and a facial. I wrote a feedback letter regarding my facial, and how time was cut short, hand/foot massage was skipped, another concern was she came to get me 10mins into my appointment which had nothing to do with me, left me for long lengths of time to have me change which I already was and to get product. Once she started the service everything she put on my face was quickly removed. This is not my first facial I know how long it feels and I've never felt so rushed. Totally disappointed never coming back! especially after spending over $300. With regards to timing I checked our security cameras from the hallway outside of the treatment room to verify service times. I did notice that the length of times that your service provider left for you to change and to dispense products were normal periods of time for the service provider to leave, 2 minutes to get settled into the room and 4 minutes to dispense product. I understand that it can feel like a longer stretch of time. I did double check and the overall treatment time was 53 minutes. The facial is listed as a 60 minute service but there are a few variable minutes depending on the clients skincare needs. Regarding your concern about missing the hand massage and hot towels I will share your feedback with the service provider when she returns tomorrow in order to discuss improvements. I came here for a spa day with my best friend! The services I chose were a 30 min massage, shellac manicure, spa pedicure, spa lunch - since I was spending over $150? we were offered complimentary use of the steam room. Upon entering the spa you are greeted by a friendly receptionist who quickly tour the facilities and shows you to the locker room. You will recieve a package of a robe, sarong, and slippers (available in all sizes). The tea area has plenty of magazines, juices, water, tea, nuts, cranberries and fruit for use between your sessions. First up: The steam room! Just wonderful! I personally can withstand lots of heat - so I didn't mind it. I really liked the cold iced eucalyptus washcloths provided, very refreshing. Areas for improvement: please have additional sarongs available in this area, and ensure washcloths are restocked Massage: this was the best massage I ever received! Request Emily as your RMT if you're ever a guest. The nail area is beautiful lots of real plants and they offer you tea - nice touch! The shellac manicure was great. Areas of improvement: the spa pedicure is well below average. My feet were dunked in cold water, and it's already chipping! The technician did let me know they were having issues with water temperature. Spa Lunch: lunch is served in the tea lounge. They mentioned that they get it catered from somewhere closeby. The facilities and staff are not designed for meal service. I say skip it and enjoy a nice meal somewhere else in the village. I was overall enjoying the experience, up until the last moment - where I had to take a cold shower because of the water temperature issues. Not fun, I brought it up to a member of the team, but she did not know how to respond... If it wasn't for the cold shower I would have probably been happy to give hammam a solid 4. I had a 60 minute Swedish massage at the newly renovated King Street location. The atmosphere is so gorgeous, clean, and relaxing. Definitely worth booking an appointment to see the new space! Beyond that, the entire staff is amazing, so friendly and accommodating. The massage was the best I've ever had. I also purchased some products from the shop from the Cela brand (owned by the owner of Hammam, Celine Tadrissi) which are repurchases of my staples that I am so excited to keep using - the essential balm and creme. Girl's day out brought me to this spa for a manicure, while my friends had the 30-minute deep tissue massage (they said it was excellent). The spa has a really nice, serene waiting room with lots of plush seating, snacks (signature tea blend, flavoured water, dried cranberries and almonds - nice touch), magazines, even some adult colouring. I think you can get lunch here too. I love the decor, as if you're in a cozy Morrocan den. I had the option to change into a robe and use the steam room (complimentary) but I chose not to since I was heading to the water baths right after. I had planned to get a regular manicure but at the last moment I decided to get a shellac one, which wasn't any issue to switch. I love the room that they do the manicures in - lots of natural bright daylight, and full of beautiful hanging orchids and a lush green wall of other plants. My esthetician was really nice, helped me choose an accent nail colour, and was overall fairly meticulous about the process (it took about 45 minutes and that's without shaping my nails too much since they were already in the shape I wanted), but less than 48 hours later I already had a chip in a nail. This was disappointing since usually I can get nearly a week out of a shellac mani, plus I had chosen a dark colour so the chip was visible. On the plus side, when all of the nails started to peel (I know I'm not supposed to peel them but...), they came off without ruining my nails as shellac sometimes does. Price was on the high end but I don't get manicures often so I don't have a good reference for this. Would I come back? Not sure. read more

Overpriced. Great decor. Massage was mediocre. The staff seem to hate their jobs. Not going back.

Such a waste of time and money. Wrong massage service provided. No coordination with the front desk to adjust the price afterwards. No apology or offer of discount to correct their mistake. When you pay this kind of money things should be coordinated. This is just another overpriced spa in Toronto that doesn't understand that just because you have expensive decor doesn't mean you can skip on customer service. read more

I've had multiple services now and feel like I can write a review. The spa itself is beautiful, and with prices that reflect some of that luxury as well. For the price you pay for some services they are definitely not worth it: Manicure : regular manicure . Very disappointing both mine and my friends chipped the night of, and within one day chipped so much that we both had to take it off. Don't know if it's the products or cream that caused it to do that but for that price I expect it to last a bit longer than 24 hours . She's called the spa, took pictures of her nails and is waiting to hear back . Massage: great massage each time regardless who did it Paraffin wax for feet : felt nice, made my feet feel smooth Facial: okay. Felt that while masks were drying, no one was attending to me . I've been in places where at that time someone massages you etc I also usually need lots of extractions, and I know those were not done as attentively as they were in other places . I expect a bit more for that price . I had this done twice now with similar styles Steam room: excellent Atmosphere : great relaxing Would never get a manicure here again. Some of the other services I might consider going back as I do enjoy the steam room or if I get receive it as a gift Update: Management reached out to me and gave me a credit on the manicure which is very impressive on their end. I went back to get another facial during their promo in March and it was definitely worth the time and money I spent. Hammam Spa used to be my favourite spa in the city. Unfortunately, I need to find a new favourite spa. I went on Friday evening, after work, with a few girlfriend's. Our spa experience didn't start out very peaceful, as we had to wait to speak to the receptionist for about 15 minutes, and then when we went to change in the rooms, all of the lockers had not been stocked with towels or robes, so we had to go ask the front desk for assistance, and then wait another 10/15 minutes for her to restock the lockers. When you arrive early to enjoy the steam, it's annoying that you're pushed back almost 30 minutes due to Hammam. Moving on, when we finally went into the steam, which is normally my favourite part, it stunk so incredibly bad. It smelled like someone with bad BO on the subway. My massage, however, was amazing. No complaints there. But afterwards, when we went to relax in the relaxation room and to have some tea, they were out of tea. They were just not restocking anything. When spending $150 + tip (so $180 for a 1 hour massage), I expect to have a smooth process from start to finish. And it was just a flop. There are other spas in the city - I think I'll explore those ones. read more

I am a spa lover. I consider visiting the spa a reward for all my hard work. Visits aren't cheap by any means but if the quality and the service matches or exceeds the price, then I leave a blissed out camper. So Hammam... what do I say about you? I can't say many good things. We booked a Couple's Package which comes with a steam room session in the communal steam room, a massage and a facial in room which accommodates you and your partner. The steam room was...steamy? I really enjoyed it. The steam was naturally scented with eucalyptus and some other herbs/plants. I felt calm and relaxed. The kinks in my muscles melted. It's important to keep hydrated when you're in the steam room and the spa has water pitchers and glasses right outside the steam room. The boy... well he didn't enjoy it as much. He found it too hot (duh). The couples massage was okay. The massages were supposed to be done in the Swedish style but frankly, the pressure was so light and we didn't really feel the benefits. The facials or "facials" weren't that great. It was rushed and all they did was cleanse and slap a mask on. I could've done better at home. So did I leave Hammam blissed out? No... and I won't be back. read more

Very Very pleased with my facial treatment by Natalia! She was AMAZING!! So knowledgeable about skincare and made me feel super relaxed! I am very sensitive with my skin and she did such a great job. Hammam has always been a favourite and today proved why! Definitely would recommend this spa to everyone. read more

First of all, I'd like to observe I didn't have any "spa service" there. I went for a shellac manicure just because it's across the street from my work - super convenient. It's a beautiful, super clean, well decorated spa. They will treat you like a princess. Everything smells like paradise. I was waiting in a beautiful room for my manicure, who asked me if I wanted standard shellac or this new "gellish", which she preferred, because it lasted longer and the results were awesome. I was sold. I want that, now. Then, paradise suddenly disappeared. The manicure chairs were not so comfy - I am small and had to bend over the table for her to reach my hands. The amazing fantastic gellish polish was just not amazing, and after two applications in both hands, and lots of " trying to fix this", she finally agreed that it was awful and the amazing gellish she was using was not of good quality, and she had to remove it. Fallback to standard shellac, simple, fast application. But I spent one hour and a half there. And the most expensive manicure of my life. And didn't even get a hand massage!!!!! Not coming back AT ALL. For 50 bucks, they should have covered me in gold! This must be a joke! read more

The spa is located in a basement. The change rooms are very small. The towels were dirty. Staff wear "Call of Duty" video game t-shirts instead of a proper uniform. No food for sale. Turkish delights only given to persons who do Turkish bath. Steam room is small, and the techno lights are not relaxing. No designated parking. No Lounge chairs. RMT was racist against white people saying white people don't have good restaurants and only Asian food is good. Never... coming...back. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. Terrible customer service... The therapist was nice and ok but they shorted me 15 mins on my massage. I don't need to go into detail because i'd sound like a nut but suffice to say the customer service is terrible. read more

I've visited in the past and enjoyed. Today was the first day after their renovation and I expected a great experience. Instead I was horribly disappointed. I wish they had called me and just cancelled instead of getting what I got I should say that the massage therapist who l saw was great. The treatment itself was pleasant. But Hammam be brands itself on being more than just a massage treatment. The steam room was cold. Ice cold in fact. Just not ready yet. There were contractors walking around still working. Including one that walked into a toilet stall on me, which by the way didn't have a lock installed on it. The showers don't even have doors yet, there was no shampoo or soap nor was there any hot water. I must say. A great massage was very quickly ruined by an ice shower that I couldn't even wash up in. I hope they shut the doors for a few more days and finish up before inviting clients in. And the $25 gift card for my inconvenience did not do much to make up for paying $125 for such a negative experience. read more

Not the best around for $135 / 1h massage. Perhaps Hammam Spa was better when it opened; but the interior is beginning to feel and look tired and run-down. The lobby / entrance feels and looks dirty. It is difficult to tell if the light coloured bamboo floors are just dirty or stained from years of use. Either way, it detracts from the overall first impression. Not the end of the world. The men's washroom / changeroom floor suffered from the same dirty/stained appearance (not pleasant when you're walking around in bare feet). The washroom area again, looked either dirty or stained from years of use. Clearly, the fixtures and finishings are tired and worn. The showers are dark, claustrophobic, and grimy feeling. The shower door frames had clearly been welded backtogether following a failure; but the sloppy weld job and exposed cracked tiles were signs that this place needs some serious investment. The hot water suddenly ceased to flow during the shower, leaving me in fridgid water for about a minute; pleasant! The shower faucet was covered in some kind of grease or gunky soap scum. I feel like the lighting was intentionally dark, not for ambiance, but to hide the decay. My massage was ho-hum. I feel like my tiny RMT was overwhelmed by the amount of effort requried to work out my kinks... perhaps my fault for not requesting someone stronger. You do not get to choose your music (Bob Marley covers done with a sitar?) nor your massage oil. The RMT was nice enough to to bring water / tea at the end of the massage. The co-ed steam bath is ok? I feel as if Hammam is trying to pass this off as a feature simply because they do not actually have enough room for separate facilities. The reception staff were friendly and courteous. Though during check out, only one staff member was present and apparently she was getting and earful on the phone from the owner. I felt bad for her as she looked incredibly apologetic to the line up of customers waiting to pay; but probably felt as if she couldn't tell the owner to shut up for a minute. (Where was the other cashier??) Not sure I'd go back. For a few more dollars, Stillwater offers a much more pleasant spa experience. If you just want a massage without the spa add-ons, avoid this place - just have your SO do it. read more

My visit was just OK... Nothing out of the ordinary. It was a birthday visit. The massage was nice and the facial I got wasn't.... Was just a bunch of cream applied and wiped off. didn't like it at all!! The girl who did it for me was great, but it was the service I thought was lacking- and I wouldn't blame the individual... I'm assuming that's just what they offer. The steam room was very hot and extremely steamy! Super uncomfortable! No one really guides you Or explains how to use it! I had to step inn and out multiple times, later found a cleaning lady who told me to grab a cold towel which had mint to help breathe because it was unbearable! it was very dark and you get disoriented easily ! And then they offer the 'lounge' with a few crayons and paper, some apples, a few types of 'water' and almonds where everyone puts their hand into the same bowl.... The staff was professional, but the spa was not worth the drive for me personally. read more
