The 18% gratuity was added on the the final bill but it is not mandatory so I asked to change the amount. They said ok sure but it is a manual adjustment. They said they adjusted it to what I said and I didnt check my bill. Now looking back on it the gratuity amount not what I specified

I have been wanting to come here for awhile. I saw a Travel Zoo voucher for a 45 minute massage, and 45 minute back treatment and facial. It was $195 + tax and 18% tip. Although it may seem expensive, for the amount of time you're at the 5-star hotel's spa, it was well worth it. I really enjoyed my massage. The products they used had a really nice fragrance, almost feeling like I had an aromatherapy treatment. I had never had a back treatment like the one provided, so that was nice. The facial was great. I really like the products, the way they felt, and even more so, how they smelt. No steam with the facial provided with the TravelZoo voucher though. Due to the fact that they were under renovations, there was only a small lounge to relax in before and after your treatments. It overlooked University and brought in a lot of sun. It was relaxing, but look forward to checking out the new lounge once it's finished. The women's change room was also under construction. You didn't really notice it, but am curious to see what else it will have to offer afterwards. I was disappointed there were no water therapies (steam room, hot tub, pool) that most other spas have. At least not included in the price. I believe there may be some that you can pay extra for - but a) no one told me about them, so I don't know if there are and b) I heard through a friend that you have to pay extra to use those facilities, but they are open to residence and hotel guests.

The RMT couple massage was amazing. However in regards to facilities & snack options they are lacking. love the decor here & loved the overall scent & products they use were all caudalie. you have to spend min 75 mins in a service in order to access their other facilities - which is their pool & sauna..

Hands down, this is the best spa ever! Everything from beginning to end was executed beautifully and flawlessly. I can't wait to go back in April for my next appointment. True definition of luxury! Word of advice: show up early so you can enjoy some peace and quiet in the relaxation room. You'll be sipping various exotic tea by the fireplace while waiting to be called in for your treatment. Remember to ask for RMT insurance receipt for your employer. :)

We came 2 days in a row. The first day we used vouchers that we got from Travel Zoo for a body buff and facial. We had completed our intake forms online so we were greeted and sat in the waiting lounge while they brought sandals in our sizes to use. They showed us to the changeroom and gave us a locker to use with a robe to utilize. No lock needed...lockers have a programmable lock. There is a pitcher of water and glasses in the changeroom, washrooms, showers, towels and mirrors with makeup counters and hair dryers. They have tampons, deodorant, razors, toothbrushes, etc...for your use. They then bring you to the relaxation lounge to wait for your treatment. Nice comfy seating with water, teas, and banana chips, craisins and apples. You also end up here after your treatment and they bring you a tea and small plate with a few grapes and a baklava. Hubby was sad that some people were given 2 baklava and we only got one...lol. Holly was amazing with my body buff and facial. The next day we had a couple's Swedish massage and scalp massage. I don't know the RMTs same that did mine but she was awesome. We even got receipts so we could claim the massage from our health benefits plan. One major problem we experienced was that we were gifted way spa certificates to use here. Upon redemption the certificates came up as invalid or already used and we had never used them. When trying to contact way spa, they could not access the info on a weekend?!? We had to pay the $500 and will have to deal with this issue later. The spa staff were very professional and nice during this problem, while trying to keep us calm. My advice if you have way spa certificates purchased from Costco.....call way spa with your certificate # prior to going to the spa to ensure they are active!!

Miraj Hammam Spa has very relaxing atmosphere with very friendly and attentive staffs. I had one hour personalized massage focusing on my shoulders and it was great! Afterwards, I head over to where the pool and jacuzzi are located. They even have individual private booths (you can close the curtain) where you can lie down and watch tv or just relax. Highly recommend this spa!

What I got: Swedish Massage ($180 on weekdays, $190 on weekends) + 18% tip is extra to the price and automatically added Pros: - Came here after a long night of delivering babies and was woken up at 2,3, and 5 am to deliver. Booked an afternoon appt here instead of sleeping at home the next day and did not regret it at all. This spa was the perfect amount of relaxation and darkness, I came out of it as if I got a good sleep (even though I didn't sleep) and was feeling refreshed. - Unlike other spas in the city (I've also reviewed Ritz Carlton- see my previous reviews) this spa has a darker appearance, hallways are dark and maze like, lots of blackout curtains- a good place to take a nap. It can be a bit harder to read the magazines when it's so dark but conducive to taking a nap. - I had a female RMT named Lauren and she was excellent- all her movements flowed from one to another and it was not painful at all. A typical Swedish massage would be whole body (from feet to scalp) with a focus on a particular area. I chose the neck and traps. I especially liked the peppermint cooling oil she used, it did have a cool sensation aftereffect which was very nice. At the end, my muscles felt less tense. Compared to the Ritz, I think this massage was much gentler and relaxing. - At the end of your massage you go to a coed relaxation room where you get baklava, 3 grapes and a cup of mint chai tea. These were very good - especially the tea and you can ask for seconds of these desserts. Other desserts are shown in my pictures. The highlight would probably be the teas, other than the mint, there is also a berry tea which was my favourite. - In the changerooms, you have access to the Caudalie products and perfume to try. - They also take Amex and provide Insurance receipts. Cons: - Similar to what other reviewers pointed out here, to access the pool and other facilities is an additional $25 charge or if you purchased $200. The pool is pretty standard with a sauna and daybeds, and is shared with the hotel guests. There is also a hammam room that you can get steamed for 15 min. You walk through a gym to get there. Note that at the Ritz you get access to all facilities when you book the massage.

I have been coming here for over 7 years. I find their customer service to be one of the best in town. I usually come here for RMT deep tissue massages, and the haman steam experience. Its ahhhhhhmazing, and one gave to try it to believe how great it is especially in bitter cold winter months.

What stands out is that the facilities are state of the art. The Dead Sea salt pool even has massage water jets, and the water quality is tested several times a day. I personally saw a staff member testing the water quality! This is great for anyone with a cleanliness obsession. Two final points: this is a women-only space, and phones are not allowed. The photos I've shared are from the official website, which maintains a high level of privacy. The service is excellent and the place is incredibly clean! The supposed "hot" pool was not warmer than my hottub at home that we keep at 104, so must've only been around 101 my guess. And yes, the 2 other women that were there were chatting up a storm, so not your relaxing, spa type environment. The staff, though, were very kind and helpful. I'm so glad I was able to do two sessions here and honestly, I think about this place every day. The guides here are so special. The concept of other ship is contrast therapy: there is sauna, and cold plunge. But it's unlike any contrast therapy I've done. It's a 75 minute class where you go in and your swimsuit and it's coed. You take part in a version of Aufguss - a sauna where they break balls of ice infused with delicious essential oils. I took a Gacha class where you do lymphatic drainage and then I also took a heart opener class. They also have free flow where there's no guide. The cold plunge is really special - you get paired up but if the class is small you can go alone. I've cold plunged a lot, and this experience transformed me. I was able to stay really, really calm and have a euphoric experience. The guides also use a tuning fork after the cold plunge to get you to calm the nervous system. The shower and changing room is not ideal for anyone that wants to go about their day after the experience but other than that, I wish I lived in Toronto to do this daily. The staff is also super friendly. They gave me their signature incense for my first visit. I love, love this place.

It's not just a sauna and ice bath facility, but a place that fosters community and inclusivity and a sanctuary for when you need to get away from the stresses of life (or when you need to relieve all that stress). The facility and it's staff, along with other participants, provides a safe and welcoming space for you to let go and look inward where you feel like a completely different person once you finish your session or class. I have always been interested to try Othership but was afraid to take the first step. I was able to try one of their guided classes recently as I received a free credit. I booked a deep stretch guided class around noon mid-week. Not knowing what to expect I went in with an open mind, allowing myself to explore and be curious about the experience, as well as try new things. Prior to the class, I probably was most anxious about the cold plunge part of the class. Upon entering Othership, you are greeted by staff where you are checked in. I did tell staff it was my first time there and they gave me a tour of the space. I was also given a wristband to wear, indicating that I was a first timer there - this is done so that it is easier for the instructor to identify the newcomers in the group, just in case we needed extra guidance or direction. Facility wise, Othership is a nice sanctuary in the city. The changerooms aren't terribly big but they do have private change rooms you can utilize. There are lockers you can store your belongings and shoes are not allowed in the sauna/cold plunge area. They provide you with 2 towels and there is tea as well as water (and cups) available. The bathrooms are at the very back past the cold plunge area. In regards to my class, we were able to settle in and the instructor explained the guided class and what we would be doing as we settled on the couches. She was aware that many of us were first timers in the class, knowing that we would be anxious about the cold plunge. She told us to embrace our own journey, with the understanding that everyone is starting at different places with different levels of experience. This pre-class talk was quite reassuring and I felt a sense of comfort sharing this experience with others, knowing that we were in this together. In the guided deep stretch class, we were first in the sauna for about 25-30 min where we did a series of breathwork and stretching, focusing on different parts of our body. The sauna was quite hot after a while and I was dripping sweat but the focus on the breath was a key factor in managing how I was feeling and the heat. After the sauna we were split into 2 groups where we did the cold plunge for 2 min (prior to the plunge you have to rinse off your body using the communal showers). I was so nervous about this part of the class but I was able to stay submerged for the whole 2 min. Having a focus on your breathwork was crucial. After the cold plunge we all gathered in the sauna again where we did several more breathworks and had a sharing portion to the class where we could talk about our experience if we wanted to. Last 15 min of class we were invited to do another cold plunge, stay in the sauna, or relax and drink tea/water. Overall, I had an amazing first experience at Othership. Will definitely return to try more guided classes in the future!
