Snack shop had instant ramen of course, hard boiled eggs, and ice cream among other things. Free WiFi and water is also available. The sauna room is also one big room that lead to 6 different sauna rooms: Elvan stone, Salt, Crystal, Jade, Loess and Germanium. The temperature ranges from 45-100 degrees Celsius and each have a security cam inside. There were plenty of mats and blocks available to use. In addition there is 1 Ice room but it was just cool. It was not cold enough as not all of the wall froze over. The other Korean saunas I've been to had seatings except this one. This room was the only one without a cam. The men's locker room was big with access to several shower stalls, 1 cool tub (not cold), 1 hot tub, 1 body scrub room and 1 steam room. I found it weird that the staff doing the body scrub would periodically look out the window into the shower and steam room area. It's $55 for a body scrub for 30mins and goes up from there. Inside, there are 2 Finnish saunas, 2 Russian banyas, a large steam room, big cold plunge pool, hot tub, salt room, restaurant and multiple lounge areas. Value is the best I have found (I have also gone to the now closed Sanduny Sauna and Southwestern Banya). The change rooms are basic but you get a full sized locker. There are only 2 shower stalls and they only provide soap, so bring your own shampoo/conditioner. The lounge areas have free tea and filtered water. It's mostly muskoka chairs and a few lounge chairs. You can sit by the pool area (I enjoyed sitting there are seeing people's reactions to the freezing cold water) or there is a big back area with TV's or there are some other tucked away areas for something quieter. The Finnish saunas have higher temperature but lower humidity, so they don't feel as hot. The banyas are HOT. I started in the Finnish ones before working my way up to the banyas. They do not post the temperatures the way the Korean saunas do, so I have no idea how hot they actually were, but in one of them I couldn't last more than 2 minutes - I literally felt like my skin was on fire!! This place is for the serious sauna aficionado, for the people who go to the sauna at the gym and complain it isn't hot enough. The big banya has a bench by the entrance for venik (the leaves on a stick that you can ask someone to hit you with... look it up). They have buckets of water in the hall to store your venik so the leaves don't dry out. I don't think they offer massages right now due to staffing issues. The crowd was mostly men when I went on a family day. There were a few families with kids, although the kids did not go into the saunas. It seems like there are a lot of regulars and overall the vibe is friendly and welcoming. Robes and towels were in good condition and the facilities were clean. I was there almost 3 hours and saw staff walking around and making sure everything was in order. The restaurant serves Russian/Ukranian dishes like soups, pickles, perogies, etc. I tried the chicken carburek which was nice, if a little bland. I would've gone for beef stroganoff or chicken kiev but didn't want to be stuffed before going back into the saunas. If you are look for a legit sauna experience without the frills, this is your place! I recommend bringing: swimsuit, flip flops, shampoo/conditioner, body lotion, a book, water bottle, a sauna hat if you have one.

It looks like its more tricky to find a place that offers a cold plunge as well and luckily this one does. I will say though I did not expect it to be this pricey basically $50 per session. While you get to stay up to 4 hours I feel id rather pay $50 for 4, 1 hour sessions. I guess however with how packed this place was ( I went on Saturday) the price is not something that is affecting most customers. I enjoyed the experience and did feel great after, If I could do a 30 min session after waking up every day I feel like I would be super productive. Sadly there is no real membership, a 10 visit pass is $350 its great if you can afford it but for now I will have to wait until Saunas become more widespread in the GTA and the competition brings the prices down.

Note this experience must be booked over the phone. We were given all day access to their swimming pool, sauna, co-ed lounge and other spa facilities. From the moment we walked in to the Ritz hotel we were greeted warmly and guided towards the elevator at the back of the lobby which leads to the spa located on the fifth floor. After checking in for our appointment, we were given health forms to fill out. Shortly after, one of the spa staff led me to the ladies changing room and gave me a tour of the facilities, and introduced me to my RMT. She noticed my hair was down so she provided me a hair tie before I begun changing into the robe and slippers that were provided. Such detailed oriented service! We were led to our massage room, which was darkly lit. Both our RMTs asked us to pick out of one of the three essential oils for the massage. Then, the foot bath and massage ensued. So relaxing! After this, we were led to the heated massage tables for the full body massage. The temperature can be adjusted if you find it too warm and they are also happy to adjust the volume on the peaceful music playing in the background. Before I knew it, 90 minutes was up. It indeed felt like we were floating on a cloud together in the end. So peaceful and relaxed. Our RMTs brought us glasses of Prosecco and snacks. They advised us the bath takes too slow to draw and showers are ideal if we wanted to take it. I tested out the bath and the water did run too slow. Note if you shower they have the Clarins soap (which I think is different from the regular soap used in the showers in the change rooms). Anyway, we enjoyed our time hanging around after our massage on our own. It was a special experience! Once our appointment was complete, we chilled in the lounge, where they have complementary snacks and magazines for you to read. We brought our bathing suits so we went across to the swimming pool and jacuzzi (which requires an access card from the spa reception). From the jacuzzi you can get a view of the CN tower. We went back to the spa change rooms after to shower, but unfortunately there were no heated towels left in the men's changing room. After the shower there is an area for you to get ready in the washrooms or change room, with a Dyson hair dryer, hair comb, lotion, hair spray, deodorant and more. If you need a straightener or curling iron you can ask the staff. Perfect set up if you're looking to dress up after your spa date! Overall, I highly recommend the spa at the Ritz. It's priced high, but the value and quality of the service you receive makes up for it. Worth going at least once for the five star spa day experience.

While the spa itself seemed great and we enjoyed our very expensive massages, I was following all of the spa rules, including bathing in the jacuzzi, sauna, and steamroom area with a bathing suit. After my bathing suit was wet, I used the same bathrobe in the co-ed area that everyone else was using to read with my husband. A woman who works there came up to the public area, where there were several other bathers, about 6 to 7, and spoke very indiscreetly that I had been getting complaints from a fellow spa member. She said it very loudly and aggressively and even though I never broke any spa rules and wasn't at the time of this encounter. I immediately was confused, and asked "wait, someone complained about me or my husband?" I was so confused because I was following the spa rules, and if she had looked at me, she would have seen that I was not naked nor breaking any rules. I started crying immediately out of horror. We had been there for less than 2 hours. I told the staff person we would leave immediately, because of how horrified I was by how I was being treated by her. The staff person said, "I'm sorry," but had taken the tattler's word as fact and did not ask me a single question. making it an extremely upsetting encounter for me. I left to go to the front desk with the person who helped us originally and seemed really nice. I was crying, which I don't usually do. I told her exactly what had happened, that I was following the spa rules and had been "shamed out of the space" pretty aggressively by the woman employee. I explained that it was my husband's birthday and there was nothing relaxing about this, and how much we had paid to be shamed and mistreated despite following every rule. You need to train your staff about privacy and how to handle these incidents. As a fellow clinic and business owner, and any time I have worked for other institutions, my main concern is people's satisfaction. I was crying harder than I have ever cried in public and her main concern was that I pay for the services. Again this reaction shocked me. We were on the street in the cold thereafter for the rest of the day for an inappropriate shaming accusation. The person at the front desk explained that her manager would call me that same day (and never did). I spent the next several calling the manager who never was able to call me back. I am filing a complaint with the Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement. I was frankly shocked by this on every level. --

You cannot bring in your own water, but drinking water and towels are available. When you go upstairs, a staff member explains what to do. You change from your shoes into slippers and receive a loose-fitting top and shorts to wear. There are several different sauna rooms to try, with secure cubicles nearby where you can leave your phone before entering each room. The spa has separate men's and women's changing rooms with showers, a hot tub and plenty of useful amenities. You can also purchase facial masks. Beyond the saunas, there are far infrared-light lounge chairs to lie on, massage chairs, a quiet lounge for reading or relaxing, a sleeping room, a gym and computer stations if you need to work. There is also a restaurant if you get hungry, as well as spa treatments available for an additional cost. Many people brought books and spent time relaxing between the different rooms. It is a lovely place to slow down, unwind and spend several peaceful hours.

They do not offer slippers so bring your own if you prefer them. I found the saunas hot enough as I have a low heat tolerance. The cold bucket plunge was also refreshing after the sauna. The cold plunge is a well that states a one person limit, though many people went in with 2-3 people at a time. The entire atmosphere reminds you of a cottage getaway. Afterward, we went to the dining area where they offer complimentary tea at the cutest tea station. They also make homemade kombucha and offer pickle vodka shots. We ordered the borsht, cabbage rolls, dumplings, herring, and the sourdough pancakes. Right off the bat, everything was delicious. The borsht was probably one of the best I've ever tasted, especially with the sour cream and the tanginess of the broth. The cabbage rolls were juicy and seasoned well, the sourdough pancakes tasted like fried dough and had a rich buttery flavour as opposed to the sweet, cakiness you would expect from a pancake. But the most surprising was the herring, which came with pickled cabbage on top and was incredibly tasty. Definitely give this a try if you visit. If the cold plunge was too extreme there was also a chain and bucket that release cold water that was not nearly as freezing. There was a lovely cozy rest area with dim lights and a tv and in the nook of the dining area a plethora of stunning herbal, aromatic and fruity teas. As for the food itself, AWESOME. There were plenty of options for me as someone who only eats halal meat and has to otherwise be vegetarian or pescatarian in the event meat is not halal. I had potato pelmeni and the bowl was LOADED. The sauna was barely warm. The main pool was luke warm; albeit relaxing to move in, as I was the only one using it. The supposed "hot" pool was not warmer than my hottub at home that we keep at 104, so must've only been around 101 my guess. And yes, the 2 other women that were there were chatting up a storm, so not your relaxing, spa type environment. The staff, though, were very kind and helpful. I'd say if you have time and the same amount of money, head an hour east to Thermea spa, which is well worth the time and money!
