Idk why I didn't just trust the low reviews. This can be call the Hamburger stand, but the workers could barely stand. They look tired and unhappy. No one looked like they wanted to work. On National corn dog day, I got notified digitally about the 4for$4 corndogs. I went after work, so around 10:30pm and ordered 2 of those, so 8 corndogs and the total was almost $18. Now where I went to school it should have been $8 plus tax of course, and yes you could get 2 of the deals. I asked the drive thru cashier about this and she told me "honestly, we just found out a couple of hours ago that we were having this promotion from another customer. Our manager set up a button really quick so you do get some money off" It was almost closing time for them so I took my order home and emailed the corporate office and the response I got told me I needed to read the fine print and my local store was not participating in national corn dog day and that no refund would be given. They should at least give a choice for slice cheese. even if it costs extra.you have to pay extra for sauerkraut on a polish sandwich. I ordered a simple banana split in the drive thru and it took a few minutes but they handed it to me and I left. I got home and started eating it and there was no BANANA'S. How stupid do you have to be to not put a banana in a BANANA SPLIT!!! I gave them a second chance today and ordered a banana split again. What happened ??? What happened to the quality? OHS used to be good, the hamburgers and hot dogs tasted pretty good back in the 80s and mid 90s but the quality has gone down hill. This is by far the worst smelling restaurant I've ever been to in my life. If I could get my bestie to eat her junkyard dog somewhere else I would never ever come here. The minute you walk in it smells like ass. She swears to me that it's just a sewer back up in the bathroom but it consumes the whole restaurant. The floors in the dining area have recently been torn up so I'm assuming there will be something done about it. If it wasn't for her wanting this dang hotdog every week I would turn these people in. If I could give no stars I would. This place definitely needs to have a health inspection. After my boyfriend & I ordered our food the lady working the counter pulled a bag of frozen fries out from under the counter, threw the bag on the counter, & then gave us our drink cups & proceeded to make the fries. I always received excellent service and never had an issue with my food. I went there on Sunday and ordered some onion rings which looked more like burnt doh. There was only 3 onion rings that was edible. My dogs wouldn't even eat what was called onion rings! On top of everything else my order was not complete. I was already home, and had no success at reaching anyone at this location by phone. I figured it was a waste of time and gas to come all the was back from commerce city. I drove thru Thornton, CO restaurant drive thru at approx 8:24 p.m. on Tuesday evening, 10/23/2018. I felt I was over charged for an order I did not ask for. The gentleman that stated he was the Manager was extremely rude and uncaring to my questions about my receipt and charges. He continued to say I ordered an "upgrade" when I did not. He refused to explain what an "upgrade" was and refused to help in any way.. The young girl working with him was trying to tell him she would talk to me and he would not allow her to talk to me. I told him I was not going to leave the drive thru or accept the food until they could explain the charges. He put my meal on the window ledge and told me it was my fault it was cold and he was not going to do anything about it, he got on the phone and said he was calling the police. I moved my car to the handicap parking and waited until closing for the police to come, they never did. I called the Thornton police but they were busy with other activity in the city, I explained the problem to them and gave them my information. Dispatch told me that the restaurant Manager did not call them. The police asked me to call them the next day and file a report. As of today I have not called the police, I would like to give the restaurant the opportunity to apologize and correct the problem. I did not receive my money back and I did not receive my meal or the explanation of charges. In my opinion the Manager should be charged with theft of the money he took from me as well as charged for the meal I should have received that he gave to a homeless man sitting on the patio. The Manager was so rude and prejudice toward me as a woman by swinging his arms, pointing his finger at me and not allowing me or the young female co-worker to talk, I went home very upset with high blood pressure over the incident of just trying to get a little late dinner. I also have a receipt the same evening at 9:10 pm showing I had to go the the neighboring restaurant to purchase my meal. We (wife and I) stopped by the Hamburger Stand on North Washington last week (first week of October, 2017). We usually go to the McDonald's across the street when we are the mood for a small lunch. It was nearing noon and the McDonald's was packed with high school students, so we decided to give Hamburger Stand a try. Counting us, there were four customers (one other couple). After our meal, it was easy to figure out why the kids do not go there. The clerk was very un-attentive, did not look up when speaking, and did not really listen when either of us spoke. I ordered a cheeseburger and a milk. She did not seem to understand what milk is until my wife explained it to her. She finally gave us our order and $0.33. I asked what the $0.33 was for and she said for the milk, as they did not have any. So I asked for just water. We each had a cheeseburger, the wife had jalapeno poppers. Neither of the sandwiches was worth having, the poppers were edible but that is about all of the meal that had any value. Neither of us had been to a Hamburger Stand, or a Der Wienerschnitzel for over 40 years, and I am sure, it'll be another 40 years before either of us tries it again. My boyfriend and I stopped in with coupons in hand, the lady at the registers said that the coupons weren't in the register so she couldn't take them. We asked to speak to the manager she said she was the manager. Their registers are so outdated that she 'couldnt' override it. So we walked out and never returned.
