I came here after being trapped on the 405 to the 10 and there was a fiery fatal car crash that closed it down for 2 hours. My nephew was a bit bothered by it and decided he wanted a burger before heading home. So I told him, "I have the perfect place for you." We get there and it's totally empty, but I'm thinking maybe because it's a Monday night. We order a bacon cheeseburger and the BBLLTT and an order of fries. When I tell you that all we got was various textures of cardboard. Nephew tried to eat his food to not appear as if he wasn't grateful for me taking him to this "perfect place". I couldn't take a second bit from my blt, his burger was dry, the bacon was thin, flat, burnt, the lettuce and tomato wasn't fresh. Fries came out a plastic bag, no seasoning. It was just all bad. I remember when this was the best burger spot in the city. Seems as if over the years they're cutting corners. The quality is totally lacking. I see why it's empty now. I came here with my 3 nephews and all they wanted was a grilled cheese with fries and a drink. Come to find out the fries were deep oiled and tasted soggy. The grill cheese was nothing compared to it being worth 17$. This place is a rip off and now I wonder why there losing business. Old school diner type of hamburger stands reminds me of happy days. The food here is excellent chili cheese, fries, good and really hot and they got that good cheese. The cheeseburger was pretty good also. The star of the show was the chili cheese dog. The Casing on the hot dog has that snap to it really good flavor. The chili is good. The cheese is good. I was a customer at the original Hamburger Habit on Robertson many years ago. The food was so good I followed them to their current location. The food is just as good. This was a go-to place for my kids and I when they were small and the restaurant always went out of their way to help my boys. Which brings us to today. Hamburger Habit is just as good as it has always been and DoorDash brings it it right to my home. Their apple pie, as expensive as it is, has the best apple pie filling I've ever had. read more

This place has a way of being meaningful to me because I remember all the commercials I kept seeing for it on the channels I watched as a child. Places like Cartoon Network. Finally met a piece of my childhood. I have to say that it's just okay and maybe even a rip off. Things were expensive and only okay in quality. Servers and atmosphere were also just okay. I swear, Culver City is such an overrated and overpriced place. I grew up here and every time I go back I'm disappointed by the food and frustrated by the traffic infrastructure. Driving sucks there. Talk about a community "gem", in one word it's a FANTASTIC experience! I had been craving a burger and fries again and my husband suggested I try this place. I was not disappointed. The parking lot is a tricky one with limited spots, but because it was around 9p, it was easy to find one. TIP: Be careful of not tripping over the parking medians in front of restaurant! The reason I say this was BECAUSE I misstepped and took flight!!!! I am extremely athletic and well-balanced, but it was dark ... and a big oops occurred. Alfonse, an incredibly kind and generous employee ran out to help me along with a loyal patron ... Alfonse had me sit down and immediately brought me two bags of ice and couldn't have been more solicitous...customer service is not dead in LA, and my experience exemplified it!!! The cheeseburger was great! Reminded me of a New Yawk (not a typo) diner repast. It hit the spot! Luis in the back came out to check on me and then a man came in to see if I was alright since he saw me fall. I LOVE MY COMMUNITY! Didn't have cash for the taco stands in the area and Baja buds was no longer open, so I found myself randomly walking in here I was immediately taken back by how cool the interior is. It feels like you're stepping into another time. The prices are OK maybe not the best but it does align with the quality of the food I got the number three as I was told it's the most popular option and it really felt like cooking. It felt like proper ingredients. I could taste the salt in the patty. I could taste the butter in the bun. It was a really quality burger. I wish I would've added a patty instead of adding avocado just because I wanted more protein. First time coming here and the food is absolutely delicious!!! My boyfriend and I ordered the sassy cheese and chili fries and it was amazing!! Burgers tasted homemade, bun was nicely toasted and the chili fries were my favorite to be honest. My boyfriend got the caramel milkshake and it's the best milkshake he's had. Other spots are too milky or don't have a ton of flavor but the milkshakes here have just the right consistency, I mean absolutely amazing! Was craving chili cheese fries so found this spot not far from home. When walking in it's a nice little burger joint really old school vibe and really awesome workers and good food. I got a burger and chili cheese fries which were good not the best but they hit the spot. What I truly like about this spot is that it is decorated with many colored pictures done by kids and just the people there to enjoy a meal I was fortunate enough to have our colored pictures put on the wall. The employee said that all the you g generations don't like to color anymore since they're so entertained on phones or iPads that they miss out on the fun so he tries to encourage the older generations to continue to have fun. Let's first start with the positives...the staff were super friendly and welcoming. Also the restaurant is very cute with vintage decor and very clean. The chili cheese fries were pretty good too. Now the bad...just got home, opened up my "Lean and Mean" steak sandwich only to find one small piece of overcooked meat. It was almost less than half the size of the bread (see picture). For the cost, this is unacceptable. My partner also got the "Sassy" cheese burger and it was pretty flat and bland tasting. Basically if you like bread and lettuce sandwiches, this place is for you. Stopped in for my first time for dinner Friday night because I've driven by this place many times and I've seen the "best burger in LA" claim and I know they've been open since 1968 so I figured I had to give it a try. I really like the ambience inside, it's just like a 50s diner, but this place is more designed for to go meals instead of a sit down restaurant with service. They have a fairly limited menu, but it has all the classics on it. Service is really fast and I will say the pricing is very fair which was probably my favorite part. It's located in a small strip mall with a free parking lot attached out front. It took a bit for me to decide what I wanted to order because there were so many things on the menu that I like. I had to try their fresh squeezed Orange Juice to start and I'm very happy that I chose it because it was delicious as expected. For my meal, I ordered the Sassy Cheese and the Hot One. The sassy cheese is just like a regular cheeseburger, very similar in taste to Burger King. It was good, but I think the patty is a bit too thin. The hot one is a hotdog with chili on top and I thought it was pretty good but the chili was a bit bland. Overall, a good takeout option and worth trying if you are in the area. read more

I went here on a Saturday after my Pilates class for a cheat day. It's located on the corner of Sepulveda and National in a small strip mall. This place reminds you of an old 50's diner. Really cute decor. A definite blast to the past. Instead of ordering a burger I decided to get a pastrami sandwich, and was disappointed to say the least. It was small in size, and dry. The meat seemed over cooked or old and did not taste good. The meat on the sandwich was slim to none as It didn't even cover the bread. The worst pastrami I've ever had. The service on the other hand was excellent. I was greeted from the moment I walked in. I was given direction on how to order as well as recommendations since it was my first time. Everyone was friendly and welcoming . Now I am basing this review solely on the pastrami sandwich. It's my fault for going to a burger joint and not getting a burger. On the bright side, free drink refills are a nice touch. Hoping for better, I tried a hotdog. The first came out cold, but they quickly replaced it. Still, the hotdog was so-so--the bun was dry, and like the burger, it felt overpriced. While I appreciate Hamburger Habit's history and charm, the food didn't live up to the cost or my expectations. I would say, because it is so close to my house, if I don't feel like going somewhere but I want a burger or a hotdog, I'd call in a pick up order. So, I will and have eaten from there a couple of times. It's just not the best food, if that makes sense. BUT the chocolate milkshakes are 10 stars! I don't even really like chocolate all that much, or at least it isn't my first choice. But I shared one of the chocolate shakes with my hub and thought I was going to die from happy taste buds. We just love this Hamburger Habit. There are a few of them, but this one has the best service. The food is so great. Parking is easy in the strip mall lot in which it is located. Once in you order at the counter and you can dine there or do take away. They also deliver. They have great burgers and hot dogs and they make them the way you want them. Whenever I exit the freeway, waiting for the traffic lights to turn green, I would see this restaurant promoting their burgers as the "#1 burger in town". Well, I had been wondering for 4 years if that was indeed the case here. We finally gave it a try and decided not to come back, ever again. Although, I have to say, the place looked clean and the customer service here was great! Food: - The Sassy Cheese (8/10): The burger was actually pretty good. I liked the patty (not too salty), meat was juicy, lettuce tasted fresh, and the bun was puffy and mildly chewy. The only issue I had was the price. - The Chili Fries (3/10): oh, good Lord, this was horrible. The fries weren't anything to write home about. tasted pretty dull and that chili gravy on top made it worse! Does anyone actually find the photo that I took of the chili fries appetizing? I'm not going to say it, use your imagination. Nevertheless, I think everyone's taste buds are different. You might like it. I get the naked truth, my boyfriend gets the big scene, we share a large fries, and get a root beer float. we spent $34 on this. kinda pricy, but we are still feeling excited so we're feeling good about it. we get the food... my boyfriend and I look at each other like we've just been punk'd. the large fry was not in our minds large at all. my burger was inside a burnt bun, frail, and shriveling. my boyfriend's bun was also burnt on the top. his pickle was rotten. I didn't even want to touch my pickle after seeing his. we are not even half full. we are going to in-n-out to redeem our stomachs pain. confusion more than anything. how has this place been open since 1968? after coming here one time, we will never come back again. I can't even imagine anyone else coming back for a second visit after having an experience like ours. It has been a long time since I have been to this burger stop. The decor is the same but the prices have gone up and the quality down. The place was empty and for good reason. I really wanted to recapture the good times and the good food I have had in the past but those days are gone. I hope they can turn around this place because it used to be good.
