so my kid has been wanting to eat here since he was 6 or 7. Maybe younger. That was a long time ago, long before the revamp. We decided to finally try it. It's basic classic burger fare, plus Mexican food. I got a 1/4 lb burger, he got the chili burger and the little fry got a hot dog. The burger was good. The bun was a little too crispy for me, but that's ok. I didn't notice they put thousand island or whatever spread on it. I would have had that left off had I paid attention. Luckily it wasn't a ton of a quick wipe with a napkin on both sides got most of it off. The chili burger was yummy. I had a small bite of that. The hot dog was hot doggy. The only thing that was a little off was the fountain drinks. The Pepsi and Diet Pepsi didn't really taste like Pepsi. That was odd. The decor was fun and bright. I also copped a chicken taco. They add chips and salsa. The burrito is enormous, filled with/ a gang of juicy Charbroiled chicken, rice, beans, cheese, guacamole, and it's fire! The taco is loaded with chicken, onions, and tastes like a huge good street taco. Not on par with the burrito but still certified. If you're on the Westside of LA and have a hankering for a Tommy's chili cheese burger, this will do. It's as close to Tommy's without the extra 'm'. The chili is pretty close to the real deal and they slop it on. I got the chili fries loaded with onions and cilantro. Ask for the banana peppers (pepperoncinis)....so good together. Everything was very tasty. We ordered a variety of items. The breakfast burrito is huge and delicious. My cousin and I both ordered this item. Her husband ordered the 2+2+2 which comes with hashbrowns two eggs, your choice of meat and toast and jelly or pancakes her son ordered a Philly cheesesteak. He said it was very delicious. Came with mushrooms and peppers. I've been frequently in this place for many years they have a delicious burger and the french fries and onion rings can't be beat! This is just a little corner hole in the wall, but if you want good food at a good price point I fully recommend this place. If you like onion rings then these are a must. Made there not bought. The chilli cheese burger was good char broiled which is rare.. so good points maybe could have used a little more chilli... the mustard is very tart but the balance is just a little off. It's was a messy cheesy gooey smashed charbroiled burger. It hit the spot. The people working there are lively and clearly happy to be there and are proud of their product. What I Ordered: -Pastrami Breakfast Burrito $12.29 + Pico de Gallo $1.59 Total $13.88 I really want to like Big Tomy's! Their early hours are convenient for my schedule. This is my second attempt at their breakfast burrito. I chose the Pastrami Breakfast Burrito with Pico de Gallo, as I read a positive review. The Pastrami Breakfast Burrito with Pico de Gallo is the best I've had here so far. However, it's overly focused on potatoes and needs more eggs. They seem to add extra home fries to bulk it up, but the potato flavor is too strong, even for a meat and potatoes enthusiast like me. The staff are friendly and will gladly provide extra salsa. Props to them! I'll have to hold off on Big Tony's for now. I hope they address the egg quantity and reduce the potato content in the burrito. I won't be back until I can confirm those changes. Grew up going to Tommy. Unfortunately since they reopened it hasn't been the same. On my most recent visit the price of chili cheese pastrami fries was quite high considering the small amount of pastrami & cheese. I was disappointed but they still have some of my favorite chili. They may have been having an off day. I do like that they have a good amount of parking available and fairly quick service. Stopped in for my first time last night because I live extremely close. Know they used to be 24 hours prior to the fire but now they are open early and close very late. It's a traditional to go oriented spot where you can also dine in. They have traditional American and Mexican options and the free parking lot attached which is a real bonus. Pricing is also fair and the menu is large. They are most known for their Chili Cheeseburger so I wanted to try that for my first time. I will say it was seasoned well and the chili has a great taste. I don't order that often so it was nice trying it again. The patties are not very large, almost the size of In-N-Out but a little larger. We also ordered the BLT with Avocado and overall it was OK because there was not much bacon in it compared to other places that I've been to recently. If they would add more bacon and Dijon, it would make it much better. We also ordered the french fries which I would suggest splitting one order because two orders is really a lot of fries and one would really cover enough for two people. read more

There are a few Big Tomy's. This one is pretty nice. Parking is free in the lot and there is always a space. It is clean inside and out and the cooking area is also kept very clean. We will try this place again. Maybe they were having a bad night or we ordered the wrong thing. They have a big menu that includes everything from breakfast to burgers, to Mexican food. What we had was just average. We ordered rice and beans, chips, guacamole, and a chili burger. The rice was dry as if it had been sitting in a heating area for sometime. The beans were watery and just not great. It went in the trash. The guacamole was super good and it tasted like they made it there. The chips were also tasty. I had a chili burger, which I think could have been very good, but it was cooked so well done that the edges were all burned. The chili was fine, but not great. The bun seemed fresh. It was not good enough to eat and it went in the trash. Despite this experience we will try them again and this time order something different. The service is just really nice and fast. Great experience! We went around 8PM for dinner one evening, and there was ample parking in the back. Service was very friendly and the restaurant was quite clean, especially the flat top (where they cook). It was exceptionally clean. Burgers were great for the price, and the fries were tasty as well. I know a lot of people like their chili, but we didn't personally enjoy it. It was a bit bitter to me. I had eaten here last week and got a very good breakfast burrito while working. I was in the area today and decided to stop in. I got a cheeseburger and fries. The amount of fries they give is very generous and well cooked. They were hot but needed a little more seasoning for me but still very good. The cheeseburger was one of the best I have had a a burger joint. Nice char great flavor and very juicy. The topping lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle were very fresh and really good. I honestly wasn't expecting much for what I ordered but very happy with how it turned out. I definitely would recommend giving this place a try if you come across it. All the men that work here happy and in a positive energy and disposition which quite frankly it's surprising when ordering from fellow local restaurants that are as busy as this location. I've recently found myself addicted to this location since they're reopening. The chili cheese fries are massive they take a whole container or they fill it with fries top it with chili and cheese hi personally like to add onions and cilantro and salsa to the top I usually get it on the side because it's a hit and miss if they add too much or not enough. I reckon this is the reason why I don't have a flat tummy but I am content with that and happy nevertheless as I am a true foodie! I have been going here for over 30 years. It's a hit in a miss. We had tacos (chicken and beef) the chicken was well done and the beef was horrible). The rice, salsa and pico de gallo was good! I have had their chili, it's always good. The chili cheese dogs are ok, the hot dog be watery....if u get a good hotdog then that's a winner. Like I say sometimes good sometimes not so good.
