This establishment is ur average neighborhood bar that is pricey . The food was decent. I ordered the shrimp fried and grilled with honey glazed wings and waffle fries . No complaints on the food. The waiter was patient because I had a lot of questions and concerns. My bf and I also ordered a pitcher of white sangria which was nasty!! It Seems like this establishment is known for their signature slushy Alcoholic drinks, because everyone at the surrounding tables had slushy drinks. The music was decent along with the hookah. Outside dining area was really chill with about 10-12 tables. Only bad thing is this place is in the middle of a very busy street . Parking is horrible! Heard of this place as having great backyard type of vibe with Live DJ during the summers. decided to go with the homies to pre-game on some drinks and food. Bro, the outside was closed so went inside to the very small closed in bar area where only bar stools were present but hey who cares right only going for drinks. Decided to review the menu and it's full of amazing foods one of which were a listing of their Rasta-Pasta's. We all ordered a different one and they so happen to be the BEST Rasta-Pasta's i have ever eaten. Just checked this place out me and my sister, our dress code was casual(hoodie, jeans and sneakers) . It's a little spot next to a bunch of other establishments (it is kind of hard to find if your blind or not paying attention like me). If you go at the time we did which was around 7 it is hard to find parking. Leaving out around 830ish going on 9 parking was more available (assuming cause all the other businesses in the area was closing). Drinks were pretty good little fruity, but not strong either. Wasn't really feeling the prices for the beverages, but I would have another one based off flavor. Food was awesome fries were well seasoned, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Lemon pepper chicken cooked well done was excellent, and shrimps was cook perfect. I do wish instead of little ketchup packets they had just a big bottle of ketchup so you don't have to keep bothering the bartender. Music was a mix of r&b and hip hop, new and old. Decor was nothing fancy, but I did like the calming yellow color and the dim light feel and the establishment was clean. The bartender which was also our server was nice, patient and understanding. This is a great local neighborhood bar. So glad they opened here. For the price they charge, the food and drinks are spot on. The owners and servers all very friendly; Mei is always there in the afternoon for a chat if you want...and they have tons of sports on TV. I'm a simple person when it comes to drinking at my local bar, so I usually get the Blue Moon or Shocktop. Had a few glasses of wine there before and that was pretty good too, haven't tried the sangria but heard it was amazing. I have had buffalo wings, chile, and their chicken quesadilla (which was filled to the brim with cheese and chicken). All the food choices are pretty solid and standard fare for bar food. Ok. I don't usually leave reviews on yelp, but I need to balance out the majority of positive reviews. This place isn't horrible. I've been coming since it opened, maybe 1/2 dozen times. Pros: this location in JC needed A decent bar, so check. The place is nice And clean. Good for sports viewing. They have karaoke if that's your thing. The layout is good, so you have nice seating options. Happy hour is $3 drafts. Big win Cons: liquor and booze is overpriced for neighborhood. Cheapest wine is $8. A shot of patron is like $14. At night, the "register" automatically adds a tip for you. This is horrible, and doesn't happen during the day. In my observation, it's like $1 per drink which is what I normally do, but let me do it THIS NEEDS TO STOP. Meh: the food. I want more. It needs to be real. From what I can tell, it's all mostly frozen food that's reheated. Wings and chicken sandwich are this way 100%. Maybe that's normal? I doubt it. The condiments, are in squeeze packs. Paper plates and plastic napkins are used (fine, but just painting the picture). Based on these experiences, I'm hesitant to try the salmon or fish and chips or pizza. No confidence in anything being fresh. I'm not expecting a fine dining experience, but with park tavern and carvao within walking distance, the food here is very far behind the competition (where you know they make the food in house and fresh). All that said if, if this place stepped up the food game, it would really shine in this neighborhood. And stop with an automatic tip at night. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. We had a party of four. One person was brought the wrong meal. They took it back and said they would correct it no problem. Meanwhile the rest of us started eating. We asked about half way through where the other meal was. We were told us it would be right out. They never did deliver it. Then when they brought the bill, it included the missing meal. When they redid the bill, they added automatic tip of 18% with no discounts for the missing meal. When we disputed the tip, the manager came out and started shouting profanities at us. In the end we paid our bill in cash without the disputed tip. We should have given ourselves a discount. And the profanities were uncalled for. read more

Halftime is an unassuming bar in a transitioning neighborhood (my hood), really nice inside with amazing drinks (i.e. Hennessy Sangria). The food is a mix of delicious bar food and some healthy choices as well. The food is really GOOD!!!! I had my daughter's grad party here and they were great host. I go at least a few times a week and have to fight myself not to go more. Great brunch menu as well, and the prices are really affordable. I love the staff. read more

I just moved around the corner from this spot. Literally around the corner. Decided to stop in with my wife. Very subpar at best. Drinks are good. Food is just ok. We had wings shrimp and fries. I actually wanted a burger they didn't have anymore patties, then I asked for chicken tenders they didn't have that I asked for fish they didn't have that either. Anyway my bill comes and I notice that im still being charged for a dish that I never got because they didn't have it. He asked if I was ok I said no and showed it to him which he removed. Then I noticed the added 18% gratuity for 2 ppl. I asked the bartender is that regular he said yes. So I paid, my bill was $83.78. This morning I wake to see that they have added an additional charge of $18.24. I'm disputing with my bank will not be returning. This bar continues to one of my husband's and my favorites. The owners and staff are lovely. Prices are fair and the food is great! One thing that sets this bar apart is not only do they do a great job on the bar basics (wings, nachos, chili), but their salads and seafood toppings are fabulous! Stopped in for a quick cold draft beer on weekday early afternoon. I was the only patron. They had apparently just opened for the day. I must say the female bartender was friendly AND very pretty . This place is so nice inside , you would not think you are in Jersey City. I wanted to have another beer and chat but the parking meter agents were handing out tickets like candy, so bring plenty of quarters. There is a parking lot right next door but I dont know if it is private or public. I will be back to check out late afternoon / evening crowd. read more

Great place! Good music and drinks..however it is extremely cold in there. I asked one of the managers/owners to turn the AC unit up to make it warmer and she never did. It was the perfect temp. outside and didn't need the temperature so low. Also I wish they had outdoor seating! read more

Awesome local bar in jersey city! I just moved to the area and my girlfriend and I were looking for a few places to go out and this place was a pleasant surprise. The food was awesome and the service was even better. Our waiter consistently checked in on us and the GM(possibly the owner but not sure) was really cool. My first time going to this bar, major pluses is that it's music playing a mix of oldies and Top 20. There is also Touchtunes which is amazing, thankfully I didn't have to spend too much at this bar which is usually the case for the area. The entree items looked really good, priced at what you would find downtown we opted for wings and steak fries. The wings were delicious, seasoned really well and the steak fries came out piping hot. Downside portion wise would have been better to price etc 6 for $9, 10 for $12 and so on as I was not paying $18 for 2 portions of wings. Thankfully we didn't go hungry because once you drink enough it would be easy to do so as the appetizers were good. The drinks were really well made had a you, me, and henny, strawberry margarita and the white sangra (the sangria could use more fruit) as it was strong enough you should let that part go. We went during Happy Hour so that is my recommendation it runs until 8pm.The establishment itself looked super clean, chic, and typical for a sports bar. Service was attentive and friendly, there was an Asian woman go greeted us immediately with menus, the bartenders after her Heather and Saddii were great. read more

I am local in the neighborhood and have been to this establishment over 4 times and tonight has been my worst experience. My main complaint goes to the food service. I placed an order for wings and curry shrimp 1hr prior to being told that they haven't started my order bc of a "computer glitch". In my mind, "it's friday. It's a busy night. It might take longer." My boyfriend finally had enough after seeing three separate orders of wing go after we had already made an order. That's when we were notified of the error and waited 30 mins more for a comp meal while others were served ahead of us. It was only right that they waive the charge for the food bc of the error that was made but offer a shot or something on the house to loosen the tension that was building. It looked like the female manage was trying to avoid having to speak to us. Just poor customer service. I did appreciate the bartender trying to stay on them to expedite the food.
