I have been here alot and this time really killed it for bringing my family. ( keep in mind there were 10 people in the establishment the whole time: - Sat in a booth. Learned quickly that you less you are one of the gentlemen sitting in the corner of the bar by the window, your drinks are not a priority over personal conversations and friends. - Aside from the ridiculous amount of time it took the bartender to remember there were other people there and other orders, she poured the wrong beer. (There are only 9 on tap) - Ordered wings and got bones with barely any meat on them. Additionally the buffalo shrimp which I normally ordered is now a sweet sauce. - There are individual TVs in each booth. While I didn't care, I thought it was funny it took the guy in the back to realize ours wasn't on and to come out and fix it. Extremely dissatisfied. We had a very delightful server. She was attentive and pleasant. However, when I unwrapped my silverware, my fork was not clean. My chicken tenders were not actually chicken tenders. They were a chicken breast that had been sliced up and given a non-flavorful coating and fried. Very disappointing. My husband's homemade chips were usually very good, this time they were soggy. The last time I had a cheesesteak sandwich it was good. So yesterday 12/22/21, my wife and I went back and I ordered a cheesesteak and onion rings. Onion rings were very very greasy and they forgot to put the steak in the cheesesteak. The picture speaks for itself. The waitress was nice and offered another cheesesteak. Easily accessible local sports bar and restaurant, off of MLK and near US-70. Appetizer- The fried pickle chips were tasty and flavorful. Entree- I ordered the Cowboy burger which was covered in cheese, BBQ sauce and homemade onion straws on Texas toast- excellent! My wife ordered the Breakfast Burger and thoroughly enjoyed it. The positive: Our waitress Ashley provided great attentive customer service even though she had a few large parties. The negative: The ticket time was over 56 minutes for 2 burgers, granted they were at 50% capacity and unsure of kitchen staffing. Maybe we went on an off day, but the whole experience here was rough. The ceiling was leaking on us, and the bartender was too busy flirting with a patron to pay attention to the pile of drink orders. Even our server was getting frustrated with her and eventually just made our drinks themselves. Will not go back. read more

Came in today strictly for drinks with friends. One person in our party ordered coffee and was told that they do not have milk but there's some next door (assuming she was referring to the grocery store next door). She asked for sugar.....we ordered the wrong sugar and all we have is raw sugar. The waitress continued to apologize but referring a customer to another establishment was a bit confusing. read more

this rating has nothing to do with the server, she was super sweet and still in training. however, the food was average at best. yes it is bar food, yet our hamburger bun was extremely dry, the honey mustard looked a lot like ranch and did not have that great of a flavor. the chicken tenders were extremely thin and very very crispy. overall, i think applebees would have been a better choice. that being said, it is a bar and most of the food was typical bar food. the vibes and energy was sports bar 110% the photo attached is the photo of the honey mustard... it was a one time trip for me. read more

Everything a sports bar should be. 20 big TVs, a projector, and 5 smaller TVs for the booths. Professional, with tons of wood and sports paraphanelia, good service, good wings, high ceilings, half off draft specials ($2 drafts!) I don't know what their specials are normally, but it was half of draft specials at 11:30am on Saturday during the NFL draft. And all this without sacrificing quality of food. Imagine that. THE SERVICE Like everywhere we went in NC, fabulous service. Attentive without being annoying (considering that we were the first ppl in here on a Saturday, that balance is especially impressive). Our waitress was informative, friendly, and fast. THE WINGS This is much better than average bar food, or dare I say it's good food that is at a good bar? They do have other things besides wings, but since we were watching the draft...yeah, got two dozen wings for $19, half hot, half chipotle. The chipotle was on the sweeter side but very flavorful, and the hot was definitely hotter than average and very tasy. They had a lot of sauce options for wings: spicy polynesian, garlic, teriyaki, medium, mild, hot, habanera, BBQ, jerk, honey bbq. The habanera requires a waiver or something, if you can believe that. Blue cheese or ranch accompany (couldn't tell them apart, although they were good), and the celery that came with the wings were the small curly pieces (yay). Between me and the bf, two dozen wings was more than enough. This is what a Buffalo Wild Wings is aspiring to, only with higher quality food, nicer ambiance and better prices. There are even a couple bar stools with nameplates on them (for the regulars or founders?) Blue moon and PBR on draft. Open until the last game is over. My sister and I had lunch there together. We both ordered wing baskets, each with a different sauce though. I got the honey BBQ wile she got the sweet BBQ. While she was satisfied with her food, I felt like my wingers were slightly over cooked (dry) with not quite enough sauce on them. Otherwise, I was pleased. The best whiskey and scotch selection I've seen in a long time. Taylor, the server was on point. She was very quick and very polite. The food was delicious and the side choices are great. We spent an overnight at the Candlewood in New Bern and walked over to Half Time Pub & Grub for a late night beer. I'm giving this bar five stars purely for the quality of the staff working that night. Becky, Olivia and Summer were awesome. It was so nice to encounter such cheerful, friendly service during this time at the end of their shift on a Friday night. Man when we first moved here a year ago this place was great. Now..... the first thing you notice when you walk up is the nasty, dirty Pepsi rug out front surrounded by all the cigarette butts everywhere! My wife said the women's restroom was gross and wouldn't you know it, the men's is gross as well! ( check out the pics) of you have torn up furniture why not replace it? (Another pic) We are waiting for the food so stay tuned........... food was good although they didn't give au jus for three French dip, had to wait to get it while the one waitress served another couple. I was going to give one star because of the condition of the place but I will upgrade to two stars because the food was ok. "No member of the public shall smoke any tobacco product inside a public building, or in an outdoor area within 20 feet of a main exit, entrance" This is the NC law and it sucks to smell like smoke while you eat. read more

My husband and I have now been twice and the first time our waitress took forever to come over on a non busy night but once she came to the table we realized she had either been drinking or taking drugs. I ordered the cowboy burger medium and it came out raw. But even with this experience my husband and I decided to give them another chance and this time the waitress was a lot better but I can't say the same for the food. I ordered the same cowboy burger, medium well this time, and it came out burnt, no Texas toast, or BBQ sauce. Then we tried to cash out but our waitress was no where to be found and the bar tender was more interested in filtering with a guy then helping others. We will no be going back. read more

I agree that it is a sports bar and there are plenty of TVs. They have dirt cheap PBRs on Sundays. However, the service is TERRIBLE! The bartenders and waitresses are barely friendly and the service is lousy! The bar closes at 11, regardless of what game is on. With less than 5 minutes to go in the 4th quarter of Sunday Night Football, the bartenders decided to close, kick everyone out, and close. Food is okay and maybe rates 3 stars, but that's it. For the only sports bar in New Bern, I would drive the hour to a better destination. read more

As my fellow yelpers know, I am always a fan of the mom and pops. This place however, is the exception. While the atmosphere is fun with an abundance of big screen TV's showing your favorite game, service has always been quite lackluster. A group of us have been frequenting this place since moving to New Bern over a year ago, so it's fair to say we've spent a lot of money drinking lots of beer and eating lots of wings here. The problem is that the service continually declines and the food has certainly had better days. If you need your server, you can usually find them in the wait station texting instead of floating the bar to check on customers. Common items are often overlooked like silverware on the table and it can sometimes take a while get a server to your table initially, especially on a slow night. The staff and owner have a 'take your business elsewhere if you don't like it attitude'. Issues with orders or dirty silverware are looked at by management as being a nit picky customer. The latest incident not only included dirty silverware but some sort of UFO (unidentified floating object) in our beer tower. When I brought this to the owners attention he made several excuses and not once apologized. Then he felt like he did us a favor by giving us a pitcher to 'make up for the beer that was left in the tower'. He claims he can't control the fact that something was in our beer. In my customer service days it was my fault if the customer wasn't satisfied and as management it was my responsibility if quality was lacking, period. Instead this place is full of excuses and bad service, sadly it looks like we'll have to start spending our money across the street at the new Buffalo Wild Wings. read more

TONS of TVs!!!!! I don't know if I've seen this many TVs in a sports bar before!! There are even smaller TVs in the individual booths that the people in the booth can control! This alone is why I gave it a high review. We went on a football Sunday and it was packed. Good atmosphere!! The food is a bit more varied than typical bar food. This used to be our go to place in New Bern. It's been going downhill for awhile but tonight was the last straw. My SO ordered a bacon cheeseburger, medium. It came out overcooked with no tomato, no bacon, no silverware. They've stopped selling tater tots (my favorite) because they're "too expensive". My burger was also over cooked. The bathroom is disgusting. A pressure washer couldn't fix it. I'm done! Last time I'll leave the place unhappy. read more

Checked out the Half Time Sports Bar in New Bern North Carolina. Nice little bar with lots of tv's with sports on. Extensive whiskey menu though on this day I had a Goose Island IPA on tap. I ordered the Chicken Boom sandwich with homemade chips. It was served on a pretzel roll and their boom sauce. It was very good. The chips were good too. The service was very friendly as I've come to expect from my visit to N.C. We ordered a side of onion rings. Had to take off one star for serving Hunts ketchup instead of Heinz. Otherwise I would recommend this place. Just bring your own ketchup! read more

They play all the NFL games and there's a big Green Bay Packers following (always a plus for me). Tall beers and a good selection on draft. Came in for lunch on a Tuesday. Lots of televisions showing a variety of sports Meagan was my bartender. She recommended the tuna sandwhich lunch special, and I had the chef cook it to the temperature he thought was appropriate. It was delicious, especially with the addition of Wasabi and mayonnaise. Meagan then recommended I try a beer, half shock tip Belgian white, half Choc top chocolate wheat. While not a session beer combination, it deffinitley hit the spot after the lunch sandwhich. Plenty of TVs with a variety of shows and sports on. Food was above average for a bar, good wings and sauces. Friendly service and good crowd, went on a Friday night 8pm-12am. Also they have a credit play music machine so you can pick your own tunes which can help change the mood of the crowd if needed. read more

Our experience was a disaster. We arrived at 6 for dinner to a fairly busy crowd, however there were a couple of tables still available. We ordered a Jameson on the rocks and received it as a shot. Our dinner order was taken about 10 minutes after we arrived. It took 50 minutes to get 3 burgers. Our waitress never came around to give us an update or check on us. It was our first time in there in about a year for this exact problem. We watched 3 tables that arrived after us get their food before us. They were having burgers too. We won't be returning, it wasn't worth the hassle. Also the place was dirty. There was used tissues on the floor in the corner. The bathroom was disgusting, both mens and womens. Service is hit or miss, but I've never been disappointed with the wings or sandwiches. Sweet potato fries are more often soggy than not, but still not terrible.
