The guys and I tried 3 different beers a piece and they all sucked. First of all it's overly hoppy, to the point that it damn near jumps. I had the Mexican beer with lime flavor, and two others and they just taste..bad. It was trivia night and we couldn't hear anything the guy said in the mic. When in Hendersonville, this is definitely a brewery you need to visit. With a rotating menu of delicious beers, all brewed in-house, you'll be sure to find something that you enjoy. Backed by a friendly staff & filled with regulars, it's a place that makes you feel welcomed as soon as you enter. A location change took effect in late October this year but they're now up & running at 100%. This move was great because their new spot provides significantly more room to seat guests. It's also only a few stores over from their original location which is convenient. The new spot is very spacious with tables to seat parties of all sizes & a patio with much more seating available outside. Everything is kept clean & tables aren't left with empty glasses for too long. I think they need to figure out a more efficient way to serve patrons because the lines got long at times but I'm sure it'll get sorted soon. Being a fan of ales, I really enjoy coming here because they offer a good amount of them at any time. The flavors they use to make their beers always compliment them well so I'm always pleased with what I order. I make it a thing to stop by any time I'm in town from Florida. It's without a doubt of of my favorite breweries in the Hendersonville/Nashville area. read more

This brewery is really one of the best, if not THE best, in the TN/KY/AL region. When I go to a brewery, I am there for the beer and so that's what I review them on...beer. I have never had a beer here that is less than good. All of the beers have been excellent. I have my favorites here that are exceptional, but all are best in class. The new facility is top notch. I love the expanse of it and the feel simply says "brewery" front and back. Staff always gets me a beer quickly and at the perfect temp and pour. The fact that HB has partnered with Cheeky Pete for food only enhances the experience. I have traveled to well over 200 breweries around the country and Half Batch is in the company of the best. I came here for a bingo night my last night in Tennessee and we had a great time! It's a cute spot that's nice and open and bright. We had 2 winners at our table that night which is some pretty good odds considering it was a full house. We did order a cheeseboard and a pretzel to share that we snacked on while we played. We are always looking to test out new breweries and happened upon Half Batch. It's a larger sized brewery with a large patio and a fun vibe. The server was nice and pleasant. They had 20 different options on their menu. I personally always look for a brewery with sours on the menu. Unfortunately this one didn't, so I ended up with the Swoopsey Seltzer, which was just okay. My husband got the Dog in a Hat, and said it was good not great. I'm sure if we were to come back and try different options we would find items we would like more. We still definitely recommend. read more

So last weekend I decided I had too much gas in my tank and wanted to drive to lighten the tank up a bit. Ended up in Hendersonville at Half Batch (which is about as close to Gallatin as you can get without leaving Hendersonville). And, it was worth the drive. The place is in a strip mall off of the east side of Main Street. Tucked in near the corner, it is easy to spot from the many tables out in front. When I walked up there were quite a few full with people who had brought their dogs. Walking in, a few more tables inside and a curved bar with about a dozen bar stools. Off to the right is a window where you can view part of the brewery. The bartender helps with some of the brewing, so was very familiar with their product. Thoughts? I won't say the best brewery in middle Tennessee, but this one is a solid choice, especially if you don't have to drive all the way across town (about 45 minutes each way for me). I had Untappd ratings in the upper threes, so definitely a win. They currently have a Rye IPA on tap, but once it is gone they won't have more. I should note if there are any Briarscratch Brewery fans on here, they are now contract brewing for them (the Rye was left over from Briarscratch). There are a few of their beers on the tap wall, as well as some collabs. The short story: Decent brewery in the mid to upper mid of the middle Tennessee scene. If you are already up in Hendersonville, it is worth a few miles to have a flight. read more

Came here on a Saturday afternoon. They have some nice tables outside to sit at and some inside as well. They serve some pretzels, pickles and jerky to eat. Many beer choices! They serve 4oz, 10 oz, or 16 oz pint. It had a friendly atmosphere. The bathroom has some fun 80s trivia for entertainment. And a phone next to the toilet!!! I've known about Half Batch Brewing for a while now, but I've never been a customer until now. You see, as an Asian, I am afflicted with the condition know as "The Asian Flush" (Google it). I've been living with it for many many years and because of it, I typically never ever drink except during special occasions. Just this past summer, I discovered an OTC remedy that allowed me to drink like a normal person (aka a few drinks without getting obliterated by an allergic reaction). Fast forward to present day, I've been fortunate enough to partake in alcohol in a social setting. My good friends invited me to come with them to Half Batch. I asked what the occasion was and they said just to drink and play trivia. What? Trivia night? I love trivia night. I'm assuming trivia is a weekly thing on Thursdays. I'm looking forward to coming back. It's a good way to spend time with friends that's different, fun, and social. It's BYOF (bring your own food) so be prepared to order delivery or order locally and bring it with you. It's like the perks of a picnic with ample seating indoors and outdoors. I'm wondering if they have other games on other nights. Something like Bingo would be cool too. Either way, it's a great local brewery. They have a really nice selection of brews, complete with a listing of ABV, IBU, and pricing. I highly recommend this place. read more

Visited during COVID19. They had tables outside which made it easy to enjoy. We were visiting from out of town. Decided on a couple flights to get a complete sample of beer. Their NEIPA was very good. I also enjoyed their Brown Ale. The service was ok, it was bar service and took your order outside. The customers were very friendly. Great local spot for beer in Hendersonville. We stopped by yesterday evening and got two flights to try. We enjoyed all of our tastings and especially liked the Street Sweeper IPA and the Fuzzy Foot peach ale. There's a decent amount of space indoors and a few picnic tables outside as well. The brewery is located in a strip mall but is surprisingly quiet and chill to sit outside and enjoy your beer. We will be back to try more! read more

Super friendly and very good craft beer. We went for a short ride in a beautiful Saturday and found our way to this hidden gem of a craft brewery in Hendersonville. Ver nice small and at this time of day (3:30ish pm) perfect spot to enjoy a cold beer. I opted for a 5 flight of different styles($14.00) that they offered from a Pilsner to red ale. I have to say loved the BS IPA, Jimmy Chimpo and Cotton town brown. All very different styles of craft beer but very goood. They have some munchies but no kitchen for food is available. They do have very informed and friendly staff working behind the bar, so if you have any questions, they are helpful and they do let you have some tasters to help you pick out the right pint. Definitely would go back there when I take a trip to Hendersonville again! read more

FAILED EXPERIMENT!! The beer is good. The food next door is good. But the way to get food here is absolutely the worse. You can check out the food menu at your table, but then you have to stand in line to order it from a touch screen. No waitress, no one to answer questions about the food, no one to custom order your meal (i.e. extra plates to share food, something on the side, timed spacing of food, etc.). Then, you have to wait in another line to order beer. Now, on the food menu they listed alcoholic drinks, but they weren't offered on the touch screen. So, when I ordered a beer I also asked for one of the non-offered drinks. They said I had to go outside HB to the restaurant next door, and get it there . What, wait in another line!!? I walked out, went right to the bar, of the restaurant, and was totally ignored. They were swamped! I waited ten minutes before I finally asked a manager if I could order a canned drink. He got it for me, I paid for it, and I went back to HB, and sat down. A server then came over, and told me I couldn't bring in outside alcohol. Are you kidding me!!? Now I'm totally at a loss for words. So when I was waiting for the drink next door, in the restaurant, I saw this operation falling on its face. The food orders from HB were backing up on the counter. I saw a waitress standing, with a hamburger in her hand for almost ten minutes. She had no idea where it was supposed to go. I saw food go out, from the kitchen, only to return, and then go out again, minutes later. Someone got cold food! Not once, but multiple times. Every plate destined for HB had to be picked up by a waitress, more like a delivery person, walked outside the restaurant, into HB, and then they had to search up and down the tables to find the matching order number. Heaven forbid something was wrong with your order. There was no wait staff. You would have get up, walk next door, in the middle of your meal, and get it yourself. Then it started to rain, and I wondered how they were they going to get the food delivered through the downpour. The answer, they just made everything to go. Imagine sitting at a table, anticipating a great meal, and next thing you know you're eating cold food out of to go containers! I complained to Anna, the manager, and she was great. She apologized, and explained that their new operation had only been open a week, and it was their busiest night. I don't know who came up with this idea of serving food, in a bar, from the restaurant next door, or who to blame for for being understaffed; but if you want to stay in business, you had better have adequate servers, to serve hot food, on time, or you are going to have unhappy customers, like me, who won't be coming back. I hope changes will be made soon, or I won't be the only one. read more

I came here by myself on a Friday night. Little did I know that it would be the last Friday night that I went out before COVID-19 hit! It took me a while to get served at the bar, but once I did the beer was great. Because this was a new place, I started with a flight and they had the cool chalk number on the handle thing. It made the choosing easy and I wasn't rushed to look through a menu while the server was waiting on me. The porter is what stands out to me as the best. I had some food too, but the menu is limited. There was a great community atmosphere going on, I think it was puzzle night. If I were local, this would be my hang. It's a little disappointing to be in a strip mall location, but I think that is pretty much all that exists in Hendersonville! read more

We stopped in opening weekend, and from the looks of things they're going to do just fine. There was a nice crowd of people for their second day, I'm thinking a brewery is a much needed addition to the neighborhood. We did a five sampler board so we could try what they're brewing. A varied selection, and at least one made with hops grown in the owners backyard. My favorite was the pepper sprout- a smoked Porter with roasted jalapeños. They have a few picnic tables outside for al fresco drinking. Overall their brews are very promising and worth checking out. read more

Holy moly! We love this place almost too much. Hendersonville just moved up 10 notches of coolness. I used to hate living here because all the cool stuff was in E. Nash or Nash but Half Batch has kept us in Hendersonville! They have a few staple beers they brew and the rest are rotating taps they brew. Their beers are done well.
