Ugh! Parked beside the building of this establishment. Went to get some Hot Chicken first in same parking. The proprietor of Providence Wine & Spirits came storming into the restaurant shouting who owns the vehicle with trailer. She said it was going to towed because it consumed 3 spots and was preventing her from getting customers. Note, she had an entire front parking lot, that was completely empty. I would venture to say the reason might be the attitude of the proprietor if there is a problem with getting customers in her store.. read more

This is the fifth time I have shopped here and not found what I was looking for. It's sad that my local liquor store does not carry what I want or need, and that I have to drive so far to go to big box providers. I want to shop local, but can't. I have found my new happy place. Providence wine and spirits is a gorgeous liquor store that is completely stocked with tons of beer options, a huge wine selection, and isles dedicated to one type of liquor. Meaning there's a vodka isle, whiskey isle, rum isle etc... and these Isles are long. The beer area is huge with literally an entire section of the store just dedicated to brews and cigars. Local beers, domestic, IPAs and everything in between. I went with Wheatley vodka during my last visit here, but I definitely want to spend some time here and really explore their bourbon section. Amazing store with such a wide variety of liquors. Popped in here while wife was getting her nails done next door and boy was I impressed. This store is split into two sections one with beer and the other side with other liquors such as wine, moonshine, vodka etc... Workers were friendly and the store is very organized. I stopped in Providence Wine & Spirits to grab something special for a dinner party. When I checked-in on Yelp a 10% discount popped up, so I happily proceeded to checkout where the cashier told me that she knew nothing about the Yelp discount and she could not honor it, her coworker beside her said she's seen and accepted it before, but this lady refused. I told her it wasn't about the discount, but I should let the Yelp community know that Providence Wine & Spirits wouldn't honor the discount Yelp was offering. This woman, (I believe her name was Joan or Joann) became irritated and belligerent towards me, in fact she called me a weirdo, now I will admit I'm as strange as the next guy and possibly a bit weird at times, however this lady was calling me names and hurling insults at me while not doing anything to resolve the situation. Then she told me, "at this point I'm uncomfortable selling you anything" she suggested that I purchase my libations elsewhere. This is when I asked to speak with the manager, she walked away and in about five minutes she came back with a gentleman who introduced himself as Ryne the store manager. Ryne was very professional and attempting to offer me options, while Joan kept verbally assaulting and degrading me, that's when Ryne the manager told her to take a break and he sent her away from dealing with customers. Ryan did void the previous transaction and gave me the Yelp discount, he offered his apologies for Joan and said that he takes customer service seriously. I thanked him for his professionalism and good customer service skills, however, I did have to ask him if Joan was having a bad day or if something was troubling her, he said she had been there since opening earlier that day with him and that it was a long day, I told him that I understand and that I hope Joan could get off work soon and find time to relax. Honestly, I believe Joan needs to find a new line of work, her bad attitude and non-customer service isn't helping this local business build relationships. Providence Wine & Spirits, you can do better than this and Joan, if you aren't happy at your job, for crying out loud find something that you love to do. Life is too short to be miserable, especially when you're making everyone around you miserable too. I try not to let One Bad Apple spoil the whole bushel, but will I recommend or return to Providence Wine & Spirits, probably not. read more

They have a pretty good selection of the things I like (single malt scotch and high gravity beer), and the location is convenient to me in Donelson. The employees all seem to be pretty knowledgeable and helpful, so high marks are in order there. I would have given this store 5 stars without a second thought until this week, when I went looking for some Jack Daniel's Sinatra Select as a gift for a friend. One of the employees let me know they only put it, and other high end product, out for sale occasionally, and I would need to be on some sort of preferred customer mailing list to get a heads-up. Businesses can certainly adopt any sort of policy they want, and I assume they are trying to be fair so everyone gets a shot at the good stuff, while collecting our email addresses for marketing purposes, but no thanks. Come the revolution, when the proletariat take control of top shelf liquor distribution, I'll happily sign up for the club. Until then, I'll shop where I can get what I came for. read more

Just stopped in for the first time in a couple years. I would have given a star lower (2), but their prices seem to be slightly more competitive than they were when they were newer. The reason for the 3 stars instead of my old 4 is the service (or lack of). Upon walking in I was not greeted in the least, even though there were 5 employees standing within 20 foot of the door. They were all too busy laughing and cutting up with each other to be bothered with assisting any customers. I counted as I was walking around, there were 7 employees that I could tell in the store. NONE of them even talked to a customer the entire time I was in there. Prob 7-8 folks walked in while I was there. Ridiculous. When finally making a selection, walking to the front to check out, the guy was there and I was helped immediately, but he seemed so put out that I was bothering him. Just not friendly or welcoming in the least. While they do have a good selection, I will be giving my dollars to other places. read more

Their bag holding my bottle blew out the bottom, and broke my bottle. I called the store and was offered to swap it out. Drove all the way back out, the lady I spoke to on the phone said I can go back and get a replacement. I went back and didn't see a replacement. I asked the manager., who had come up to me asking if I needed any help, if he had any more in stock in the back. He instead told me I could not exchange it, and that it was my fault. I explained that I called ahead of time and was already told I could exchange it, twice. He did not care. I told him I wouldn't be back, for being as rude as he was to me, and he said "that's fine." This isn't how you keep customers. as I was leaving, the lady asked me what was wrong, and I explained to her. She told me that she did not understand, because the man has let people exchange for the same reason before. I have came here many time, but will absolutly not be back after not only was I lied to about exchanging it, but for wasting my time having me drive all the way back, and finally, the manager being so rude about it. This is not how you treat your customers. read more

Since my first review, I have numerous interactions, which are worth sharing. I had been overseas and tried a small batch gin that was not available in Tennessee. I wrote the folks on their Facebook page and less than a week later they had it in stock. Later, I was looking for a wine for a special occasion and though it was out of stock, the staff helped me find something in my price range that was actually better. There are lots of places you can go, but you cannot find a friendlier and more helpful staff! read more

Second visit to this store. First visit was well treated by a young man (Austin?) in the beer section who helped us fill our growler with a delicious pilsner. We sampled some mead which we decided wasn't our cup of um, mead. Thursday however was very disappointing experience. We walked in with our growler to see what they had in store for us. No one in over 10 minutes came to check on us. We waited, walked around looking for other options and ended up walking out with a 12 pack on Summer Shandy. Will find other establishments to spend our money in the future. read more

Excellent selection of bourbon. They had three of the bourbons he wanted. Angels Envy was in stock which isn't always easy to find . Prices are standard. Very friendly staff. Clean and bright with nice wide aisles. Didn't make into the beer side this visit but it too looks amazing. Great ample parking. My husband loves this place. read more

The owner of this business cares neither about her employees nor her customers. I recently resigned from my position here following multiple concerns regarding negligence of adequate health/safety practices (particularly in times of coronavirus) and the understanding that no matter how hard or diligently I worked, the owner would never bother to learn my name or incentivize her employees. My final straw was a passive aggressive text message by owner to management demanding I remove my BLM facemask. She absolutely has the right to conduct her business however she wishes, but I choose not to be party to it or support it. She has determined that regardless of how she treats her employees, she will continue to make money and that's enough for her. read more

This is a great beer shop in the center of the bustling Mount Juliet area. The selection of brews is very good and they have quite a few on tap for growler fills, which is great. They also have a good selection of wine and spirits and parking is plentiful. I will be moving to Mount Juliet in a few months and this is going to be my go-to place! read more

I really hate writing bad reviews, especially of a place I specifically went to look to find some specific items for a gift (of which they had an excellent selection). I was planning to go back tomorrow and purchase a significant number of expensive items, but now I have to find another place to spend my money. My husband and I checked out the place after eating dinner nearby. It was getting close to 9pm and we had picked out some items and were just taking a quick look at their beer selection when a gentleman working there came back and asked if he could help us. I said we had never been in before and mentioned what a wonderful selection they had. He rudely said they were about to close and added in a snarky way that they were open at 10am tomorrow. It was a couple of minutes before 9pm and we were getting ready to leave, but he made us feel like trespassers. We put down our items and walked out. It wouldn't have cost the employee much to be nice, acknowledge my compliment of the store, and sincerely ask if there was anything else we needed before they closed. It does, however, cost the store the business I was going to give them and it costs them this bad review. read more

I am so pleased that there is such a shop in my 'hood. As a rule, I must usually travel many more miles to get such selection, assistance and knowledge about products. Not only is the staff top-notch but so is said selection. Being able to grab a growler (after sampling the products no less) in this area is almost unheard of. So being able to peruse many varietals, shop local craft brews and grab a gift or snack in one place is priceless. The offerings are incredible. The staff is a delight. I am well-pleased. I like the craft beer selection here but the staff knowledge is hit or miss. My wife was in the store on 12/26/2015 to pick up a growler for a party. She saw that the growler was clear and asked if she could have an amber colored glass growler that she saw on display since she was getting an IPA. The staff member helping her told her those were not available and asked why. When she explained that clear glass allows the beer to become lightstruck and since she was getting the IPA this was more important than usual, the staff member told her she was wrong and talked down to her. She took the beer in the clear growler and came home angry that she had been talked to in this manner. Anybody that is in the craft beer industry will tell you that my wife was indeed right. Hoppy beers are particularly susceptible to becoming skunky due to light exposure and that the best remedy is either an amber glass container or glass that blocks light entirely. Hopefully, they can train their staff better on basic beer knowledge and, in this case, customer service. read more

I went there, from work, an hour later only to be told, by the guy in the beer section, that he had pulled them from the shelf for a black friday event. Always nice and helpful. I asked for a wine selection between a certain price range and the sale person picked some great wine. Helped load it in my truck. Best liquor store in Mt. Juliet. Very helpful staff with a large selection and variety of wine, beer and the harder stuff. Pricing is on par with other stores. Also like they have free tastings and host promotional events. Staff is knowledgeable with food and drink matings. Grab a cigar, some cheese, meat and a bottle from this one stop shop and a wonderful evening is all yours. read more

For quite sometime, I have been buying a case of PBV (Pickers Blueberry Vodka) at West End Liquor store because it was close to where I worked. . About a month ago, I live in Mt. Juliet behind the mall, and decided to go into Providence Wine & Spirits and noticed they had a lot of the Pickers Blueberry Vodka. I asked if they could price match with where I have been buying it. I got a quick straight answer, "NO." I step back and said, "Wow, just like that." He said, "just like that." So I went downtown and got what they had at the time three bottles @ $21.95. I decided to try for the second time at Providence W&S a different helper. I said, " Sir, I am interested in buying a case of PBV and can y'all give me a good price?' He immediately with no hesitation said, " NO.' i was like dang, lol. I gave him my story about where i was buying and the price and he said, " Go downtown and get it and walked away.' I buy a case of PBV every three months. I would rather support Wilson County where I have been living for the last 20 years.than a different county. This place is great! They offer tastings of various wine and spirits. The staff is very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. They have a good selection of wines and can make recommendations if they know one that you like. I once had picked out about a dozen bottles of spirits and got up to the counter and realized I had left my wallet at home. It was close to closing time, and I would not be able to drive home and come back in time, but they said it was not a problem. They put everything in a box so it would be ready for me when I got there the next day. read more
