Healthy Cupcakes! YES! I LOVE this part from their website: "whole wheat unbleached flour, applesauce in place of half the oil, almond milk instead of cream"!!! In love with this the healthy aspect of having a cupcake! And the best part is that it does NOT taste low fat, it tastes like a real original cupcake! No guilt here! DECOR (5 Stars): It's a tiny house, decorated with an abundance of cuteness all over and very serene! I can imagine myself reading a book at their table while eating a cupcake! They have a display of their cupcakes in all flavors in the display stand for viewing only, and you choose your flavors and they get you fresh ones from the back and frost them right then and there, which is really nice! While she did this for me, she mentioned their book of cakes designs, so I browsed through the pics and they all looked amazing! I saw a lot of cake reviews, but didn't see much reviews on their cupcakes on Yelp, so here goes.... CUPCAKES: - Strawberries 'N' Creme Cupcake (4 stars): the strawberry frosting was amazing! Didn't taste overpowering and went perfectly with the white/yellow cake. I liked the tiny white pearls on top too! Comparing this cake to the chocolate cakes I ate below...this cake was very moist, almost too moist, not sure if it was undercooked (minus 1 star), because I kept thinking that it should've stayed in the oven a bit longer...while I was eating it. Maybe it was just this batch? But I liked the overall combination. Definitely one I would order again! - Salted caramel (5 stars): other yelpers are right about this one - it's soo good! The whole combo is flavored perfectly! This chocolate cake was really good, not sure if the two below were a bad batch, but I liked this one way better! - Death by chocolate (3 stars): the frosting was chocolately goodness! But the cake was a bit dry and tasted funny. Maybe it needs more chocolate to take away from the funny taste? Maybe I'll give their chocolate cake another try next time. - Cookies 'N' Creme Cupcake (2 stars): has a chocolate cake with creme frosting with tiny pieces of broken oreos on top. The frosting creme tasted like the inside of an oreo which was really good, not too sweet! But the chocolate cake was too dry and didn't have much flavor - this one definitely tasted 'low fat'. As much as I was excited to try it, wasn't happy with this one and don't think I will order it again. Maybe blend the Oreos in the creme frosting? So that it has specs of crumbs in the white frosting? The baker was nice and helpful, although I told her it was my first time here telling her that this place was really cute and all, so I thought she would give me the whole spiel of all their items on the menu, what they are all about, etc., but I didn't get any of that, so I was a little disappointed. I only knew about the low fat/different ingredients concept from their website and other yelper reviews. Next I'm going to try their cake pops I saw on the menu board. I see from other yelp pics that they sell macaroons and pushpops, but I didn't see any mention of it on the menu so I'll ask on my next visit. Keep you posted...until next time! read more

I'm new to the vegan life so I dropped by Half Baked to sample some vegan cupcakes. I was not disappointed! The vegan peanut butter chocolate cupcake was not too sweet with a smooth, creamy finish in the icing. I also tried the carrot cake with the vanilla icing to replace the the cream cheese. I like the cake but the vanilla icing was too sweet. The cool thing is I can order sugar free if needed for my birthday cake in a few weeks! I will definitely be back! read more

GLUTEN-FREE: I want to clarify that this review is only for gluten-free items not for their regular bakery which I haven't tried. I bought a gluten-free lemon cupcake and it was terrible! The frosting reminded me of bad grocery store frosting- bright yellow with an artificial lemon flavor. The cupcake itself was doughy and undercooked. I didn't even end up eating it after tasting it. The other item I tried was a gluten-free pistachio macaron. Neither the texture nor or the flavor was good. The inside seemed undercooked and the outside was hard and crusty. Very disappointing and overpriced. They are getting one star for convenient curbside pickup. However, the cupcakes are SO small, they don't even fill the container all the way. Definitely does not look like an almost $4 cupcake. The red velvet cupcake did not have cream cheese frosting as advertised on their website. Instead, it was plain frosting like the one you can get at Ralph's. Will not be coming back, you're better off going to Yummy Cupcakes with more for your money. read more

So let me start by saying that this is hands down one of the best choc peanut butter cupcakes I've had. The cake itself was dark and rich. You could tell how fresh it was. I feel like I am bit late for this review but better late than never! My baby girl recently had her first birthday and we wanted to make it as special as we could. Being so young, we had not (and still don't) include too many sweets and processed sugars as part of her diet. Daddy is a bit of a health nut so it was important to us to offer her something better than the run of the mill traditional cakes, so I was very happy to come upon this bakery so close to our home. I set up a consultation and was very pleased when Carolyn was kind enough to accommodate a Saturday morning consultation (this is not the norm as the weekend is their busiest time). She listened to what we wanted to do and offered her suggestions for the size and budget we had for the party. She was very up front with the pricing and went over all the options and details to make sure we were getting what we wanted. We selected a dessert table with a variety of items and selected the color scheme for our Tinker Bell theme, the package even included the cake stand and display tray rental, (extra but reasonable) and delivery of the items to our party venue as well as the set up. My baby's cake was absolutely beautiful! The other treats complimented the decor so nicely it was just great, I could not be happier. Our guests really enjoyed the treats and I felt good knowing they were not just loading up on sugar and flour! Great little bakery in Burbank. Their menu is limited to baked goods and so they do not offer any coffee or beverages. They sell cupcakes, cookies, cake pops, and macaroons. They sell traditional and vegan cupcakes with various flavors. I ordered the 4 cupcake pack. They do sell individual cupcakes to in addition to larger quantities. I ordered the peanut butter cupcake and it was so delicious. I also ordered the death by chocolate cupcake and it was okay. The frosting on that cupcake was too heavy and not fluffy like the peanut butter one. I ordered the lemon cupcake and while the frosting was lemon flavored, the cupcake bread was spice flavored which gave it an odd flavor. I thought it would have been paired with a lemon flavored cupcake or at least yellow cake. Overall, it a nice bakery and the sample cakes on display are artistic looking. They also do vegan cakes which is a plus for someone seeking vegan options. I would definitely come back to try their macaroons, cake pops, cookies and peanut butter cupcakes again. read more

We ordered a vegan wedding cake with strawberry creme, chocolate peanut butter, and marble with salted caramel layers. Throughout the whole process they were very responsive, professional, and pleasant. The only critique keeping me from giving 5 stars is that the outer white buttercream frosting was too firm--as in too much vegetable shortening--so it sorted of popped/peeled off the cake easily. It still tasted good (not like a mouth full of shortening), so I don't know if that was by design or by accident, but the frosting wasn't that way when we tasted samples. Big Wedding mistake-- I had my wedding in Central California this past weekend and my parents did not make it to the wedding rehearsal or rehearsal dinner because they were waiting for the cupcakes I had ordered at least 1 month ahead of time. I ordered 120 Cupcakes that were fully paid for, but when my parents went to go pick them up at the scheduled 10am time, there were only 10 cupcakes ready. How do you see a charge of a few hundred dollars and not question why there are only 10 cupcakes for that price? I spoke to the owner who said it would take 45 minutes to get all the cupcakes made-- well my parents waited 3 hour, which then added 2 extra hours to their drive which resulted in a missed rehearsal and rehearsal dinner- Something We can't get back. I'm not trying to be Ill intended here, but unfortunately, I had a bad experience going with them for my wedding. read more

I made an appointment, the lady I met with was so great at being patient with me and creating the perfect Elmo & Friends themed cake for my daughter's 2nd birthday party. There is a window in her office where you can peek into the bakery and see all of the amazing cakes being created by their extremely professional and clearly talented staff. Plus their office and entire bakery is super cute and adorable. Anyway, I picked up the cake before the party, it was perfect, and it was delicious!!!
